An Analysis of Tamlin's Portrayal in Sarah J. Maas' ACOTAR Series
Masterlist ( everyone go and thank @watcherintheweyr 💗 )
Introduction:
Sarah J. Maas' A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) series is filled with complex characters and intricate dynamics. One of the most debated aspects of the series is the portrayal of Tamlin and whether his actions constitute abuse. This analysis argues that SJM's portrayal of Tamlin as an abuser lacks conviction and consistency, especially when compared to similar actions by Feyre, the protagonist.
1. Inconsistent Depiction of Power and Control :
- Tamlin's Unconscious Reactions :
Tamlin's power often reacts unconsciously to his emotions, particularly his fear and frustration. For instance, there are moments where he lashes out with his power, breaking things or creating a hostile environment.
These instances are portrayed as part of his inability to control his overwhelming emotions, often in response to situations that trigger his fear for Feyre's safety or his own insecurities.
- Feyre's Similar Reactions :
Conversely, Feyre also exhibits moments where her power lashes out unconsciously. A notable example is during the High Lord meeting, where she wounds the Lady of Autumn. Feyre's magic responds to her anger and protective instincts, similar to how Tamlin's power reacts to his fear and frustration.
Despite this, Feyre's actions are not labeled as abusive, suggesting a double standard in the characterization of similar behaviors.
2. Lack of Malicious Intent :
- Tamlin's Protective Instincts :
Tamlin's actions, though sometimes harmful, are primarily driven by a desire to protect Feyre. His overprotectiveness and controlling behavior stem from a place of fear and trauma rather than a desire to harm.
This distinction is crucial in understanding the nature of his actions. While his methods are flawed and often detrimental, they lack the malicious intent typically associated with abusive behavior.
- Feyre's Protective Rage :
When Feyre lashes out with her magic, it is also driven by protective instincts and emotional responses. Her actions are not premeditated or intended to cause harm but are a result of heightened emotions.
This parallel further undermines the portrayal of Tamlin as an abuser since Feyre's similar actions are not condemned in the same way.
3. Emotional and Psychological Complexity :
- Tamlin's Trauma and PTSD :
Tamlin's behavior can be seen as a manifestation of his trauma and PTSD. His inability to control his power and his overbearing protectiveness are indicative of deep-seated psychological issues.
The narrative does not adequately address these aspects, leading to a one-dimensional portrayal of Tamlin as an abuser rather than a complex character struggling with his own demons.
- Feyre's Struggles and Growth :
Feyre's journey is one of growth and overcoming trauma. Her moments of uncontrolled magic are seen as part of her struggle and development.
The narrative provides her with opportunities for redemption and understanding, which are not afforded to Tamlin. This disparity highlights an inconsistency in the treatment of characters facing similar issues.
Conclusion :
The portrayal of Tamlin as an abuser in the ACOTAR series lacks convincing evidence and consistency.
The moments where his power lashes out unconsciously due to fear or frustration are paralleled by Feyre's similar actions, yet only Tamlin is labeled as abusive.
Furthermore, the lack of malicious intent and the failure to address Tamlin's psychological complexity contribute to a one-dimensional depiction that does not do justice to the character's potential depth.
Sarah J. Maas' handling of these dynamics raises questions about the consistency and fairness in the portrayal of trauma and emotional responses in her characters.

My appreciation.
September 2023, I started the "a court of thorns and roses" series. Booktok got me hyped to read it so when I did, I really enjoyed it. (I fell victim to liking Rhysand and the inner circle, forgive me)
Feyre, Tamlin, and Lucien were my favorite characters. Their dynamic, how their relationship grew, I loved it all. (I was also a hater of Nesta but I changed now, my mind opened.)
I also saw spoilers on Tik Tok about acomaf and Rhysand which put me into a slump and I didn't continue reading the series again until April 2024. Yeah, it was that bad.
Finding out that people hated Tamlin for his later actions got me bummed because I really liked him at the time. I got spoiled for the rest of the series but I don't really care for spoilers that much.
During my slump, I made an account on Tumblr. I mostly liked posts but I would comment at times. I was afraid of making a post because I was just nervous.
I still had love for Tamlin so I avoided the Acotar side of Tumblr for a while. Because what if someone came after for my thoughts or opinions? That scared me. I felt somewhat alone when it came to not hating Tamlin or seeing him as a "villain" (he's more morally grey). I also still didn't like Rhysand because of the whole under the mountain thing which weirded me out.
Then one faithful day, I was looking through the Bryce Quinlan tag after finding out about her when I saw this post (it was about the crossover) and it was the first anti Rhysand post I liked.
And I clicked on the anti Rhysand tag and my third eye opened. When it came to booktok, I thought that hating this man was some sort of taboo.
These guys showed his wrongdoings, went on analysis, how he was toxic, how he treated certain characters, etc. Thanks to them, I was right to feel what I felt about him. He fucking sucks.
I then went on the pro Tamlin tag and I had finally found my people. Ones that shared the same thoughts as I did when it came to Tamlin and it gave me inspiration to make my first post on here.
(And the rest was history...) *cue the clapping*
Nah but seriously, I want to give my appreciation to the Tamlin, Nesta, Lucien, and Eris fans, the anti Rhysand people, the inner circle haters, and the people who just hate this series in general. I'm grateful for finding a community where I fit right in and where I won't get burned at the stake for my opinion (most of the time). I actually made friends on here which is great because I usually suck at making friends (Me and Tamlin twinning, can't make friends for shit) so this is great.
TIME FOR THE TAGS!!!
Giving my appreciation to the people who inspired me to become the blog that I am today: @szalonykasztan00, @copypastus (love your art❤), @shi-daisy, @arson-09, @thrumbolt, @achaotichuman, and @feyres-divorce-lawyer (so glad that I found you on tik tok first, a fellow Rhysand hater).
My mutuals where we are united by both love and hate: @sonics-atelier (thanks for making those analysis posts), @wingsdippedingold, @rin-u-pos, @positivelyruined (bless you for the Luke Eisner fancast🙏🏾), @nickel156, @viktoriaashleyyx, @thatapologisttoyourantis.
And those who I first found out on tik tok and then found them again on Tumblr (some are mutuals, some aren't and the first two I found out there asoiaf tik toks): @watcherintheweyr, @kataraavatara, @booksnwriting.
Yuh, that's about it. Just wanted to make something nice and sweet. Thanks to my 107 followers that I got for mostly being a hater or from other stuff that I post.
Me to all of you (This feels corny but I was born on the cob🌽):

An Analysis of Fascist and Zionist Ideologies in Rhysand's Character in Sarah J. Maas's Works
Based on this post by @1800naveen
In analyzing Rhysand's character from Sarah J. Maas's A Court of Thorns and Roses series, certain disturbing parallels can be drawn to fascist and Zionist ideologies. These connections illuminate problematic aspects of his rule and treatment of various groups within his court, revealing a deeper, more sinister side to his character that some readers might overlook. Below, we explore these parallels and their implications.
Rhysand as a Fascist Figure
Fascism is characterized by authoritarianism, nationalism, suppression of opposition, and often a dictatorial leader. It emphasizes strong centralized control, militarism, and the belief in the supremacy of a particular group. Several aspects of Rhysand's rule align with these principles:
1. Authoritarianism and Suppression of Opposition :
- Rhysand exercises strict control over the Night Court, particularly in the Hewn City, where he allows widespread abuse and subjugation of women without intervention. This lack of action against systemic violence is a hallmark of authoritarian regimes that maintain control through fear and oppression.
- The fact that two-thirds of the Night Court despise Rhysand and wish him dead speaks to his failure to garner true loyalty and affection from his people, relying instead on fear and force to maintain power.
2. Nationalism and Militarism :
- Rhysand's reliance on the Illyrians as his personal army showcases a militaristic approach to governance. He uses them primarily for battle while neglecting their welfare, mirroring how fascist leaders often glorify the military and sacrifice the well-being of their soldiers for personal gain.
- His focus on maintaining and expanding his power at any cost, often through violent means, further exemplifies a fascist mindset.
3. Control and Isolation :
- The residents of Hewn City live under the mountain, deprived of freedom and the beauty of the outside world. This isolationism reflects the fascist tactic of controlling populations by limiting their exposure to alternative ideas and realities, keeping them in ignorance and subjugation.
Zionist Parallels and Rhysand's Ethno-Centrism
Zionism, particularly in its more extreme forms, involves the establishment and maintenance of a Jewish state, often leading to the displacement and marginalization of other groups. While not a perfect analogy, certain elements of Rhysand's rule echo these themes:
1. Segregation and Displacement :
- Rhysand's segregation of the Illyrians and the inhabitants of Hewn City resembles the Zionist practice of segregating Palestinian populations and restricting their movement. By keeping these groups isolated and under strict control, he mirrors the apartheid-like conditions faced by Palestinians.
- The prohibition against Hewn City residents leaving to see the outside world can be seen as an effort to maintain a pure, controlled population, reminiscent of how extreme Zionist policies aim to preserve a Jewish majority in certain areas.
2. Neglect and Abuse of Marginalized Groups :
- The systemic abuse of women in both Illyria and Hewn City, and Rhysand's indifference to their suffering, reflect a disregard for the well-being of marginalized groups. This mirrors how some Zionist policies result in the suffering and marginalization of Palestinians.
- The use of the Illyrians solely for their military prowess, without regard for their cultural or personal needs, shows a utilitarian approach that dehumanizes them, similar to how Palestinians are often viewed through the lens of their utility or threat to the state.
3. Self-Perceived Supremacy :
- Rhysand's belief in his superiority and his destiny to rule parallels the ethnocentric beliefs found in extremist Zionist ideologies, where the supremacy of one group over others is a foundational principle.
Personal Reflection and Conclusion
The comparison of Rhysand to real-world figures like Donald Trump, known for their authoritarian and nationalist policies, further highlights the troubling nature of his character. Trump's administration was marked by attempts to overturn progressive policies, promote nationalism, and suppress opposition—traits mirrored in Rhysand's governance.
Ultimately, Rhysand's character embodies several disturbing ideologies that resonate with both fascism and Zionism.
His authoritarian rule, neglect of marginalized groups, and militaristic strategies paint a picture of a leader who prioritizes power over justice and humanity.
While Sarah J. Maas may not have intended these parallels, they offer a critical lens through which to examine the darker aspects of her characters and the societies they inhabit.
As readers, recognizing these elements can lead to a deeper understanding of the narrative's complexities and the underlying messages about power, control, and the treatment of marginalized groups. It challenges us to question the glorification of such characters and to seek more equitable and humane models of leadership in both fiction and reality.

Mehendi Misappropriation: Unveiling Cultural Erasure in SJM's Fiction
Masterlist ( stop stealing my culture sjm ) part 1 of the Cultural Appropriation in Fiction: Examining the Erasure of Indian Heritage in SJM's Novels analysis.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. Lack of Acknowledgment : Sarah J. Maas (SJM) fails to acknowledge the cultural origins of the motifs used in her novels, particularly the Night Court tattoos inspired by mehendi, a traditional form of body art practiced in Indian culture. By reframing mehendi as "tattoos" without crediting its cultural significance, SJM erases the rich heritage and history behind the art form.
2. Appropriation of Aesthetic : The incorporation of mehendi-inspired designs into SJM's fictional world without proper acknowledgment appropriates elements of Indian culture for aesthetic purposes, without respecting the cultural context from which they originate.
3. Simplification of Tradition : By reducing mehendi to mere "tattoos," SJM oversimplifies and commodifies a sacred tradition that holds deep cultural and religious significance in Indian society. This trivialization diminishes the cultural importance of mehendi and perpetuates harmful stereotypes.
4. Failure to Consult : SJM's portrayal of mehendi-inspired tattoos demonstrates a lack of consultation or engagement with Indian cultural experts or practitioners. Without consulting those directly connected to the tradition, SJM risks misrepresentation and distortion of cultural practices.
5. Impact on Representation : The misrepresentation of Indian culture in SJM's novels contributes to a broader pattern of erasure and marginalization of South Asian voices in mainstream media. By appropriating elements of Indian culture without proper acknowledgment or understanding, SJM reinforces harmful stereotypes and perpetuates cultural appropriation.
6. Missed Opportunity for Authentic Representation : Rather than appropriating elements of Indian culture for aesthetic purposes, SJM could have taken the opportunity to authentically represent South Asian characters and cultures in her novels. By centering diverse voices and experiences, SJM could have contributed to a more inclusive and representative literary landscape.
Overall, SJM's appropriation of Indian cultural motifs, such as mehendi-inspired tattoos, reflects a broader pattern of erasure and misrepresentation of marginalized voices in mainstream media. It underscores the importance of respecting cultural traditions and consulting with communities whose heritage is being depicted in literature and other forms of media.

For the People who think Elain will be Evil in the upcoming book :
Masterlist, Reasons why Elain is unlikely to turn evil in the next book:
1. Evolving Attitude : Elain used to harbor hatred towards the fae, similar to Feyre and Nesta, but she has since shown a willingness to help and appreciation for their customs while Azriel harbors negative feelings towards an entire race , many of them innocent , and does nothing to help them get better .
2. Compassionate Actions : Despite Azriel's negative feelings towards the Illyrians, Elain has not exhibited any such biases and has shown compassion towards others, including her efforts to help those in need.
3. Absence of Violent Tendencies : While Azriel has displayed violent behavior, such as nearly choking Eris to death, Elain has not shown any inclination towards such actions.
4. Internalized Issues : Azriel is depicted as harboring the most internalized issues among the characters, whereas Elain does not display similar signs of internal turmoil or bitterness.
5. Lack of Manipulative Behavior : Elain does not exhibit manipulative behavior or deceitfulness, contrasting with Azriel's ability to manipulate conversations and hide his true feelings.
6. Communication Style : Azriel struggles to open up and communicate openly with others, even to his close friend Cassian, whom he has known for 500 years , while Elain does not demonstrate similar difficulties in communication.
7. Allying with Questionable Characters : Elain is unlikely to ally with morally questionable characters, such as those who kidnap innocent individuals, which is not consistent with her character traits.
8 . Rejection of Prejudice : Elain does not display prejudice or hatred towards specific groups, unlike Azriel who harbors animosity towards the Illyrians based on their heritage.
9. Empathy and Kindness : Elain is characterized by her empathy and kindness towards others, traits that are not indicative of a potential descent into evil or villainy.
10. Consistency in Characterization : The narrative portrays Elain as a compassionate and caring individual, whereas Azriel's characterization includes traits that may lead to morally ambiguous actions, suggesting that Elain is unlikely to undergo a sudden transformation into a villainous figure.
Conclusion : No Elain isn't evil but I do wish She'd whack some individuals who require it .

Boundaries Breached: Examining Consent, Hypocrisy, and Exhibitionism in Rhysand's Actions In the CON
Once again thank you to @watcherintheweyr 💗 ( my new bestie )
1. Lack of Consent : Rhysand fingering Feyre in front of the Court of Nightmares without their explicit consent violates Feyre's autonomy and dignity. They did not consent to being part of a public sexual display, turning what should have been an intimate moment between partners into a spectacle for others' entertainment.
2. Disregard for Privacy : By engaging in sexual activity in front of an audience without Feyre's consent, Rhysand demonstrates a lack of respect for their privacy and boundaries. Intimate moments should be shared in a safe and consensual environment, not in front of a crowd of onlookers.
3. Lack of Agency for Feyre : Feyre is reduced to an object of sexual gratification rather than being treated as an equal partner with agency and autonomy. Rhysand's actions prioritize his own desires over Feyre's comfort and well-being, perpetuating a harmful dynamic of power imbalance.
4. Hypocrisy in Treatment : Rhysand's outrage at Keir's derogatory remark about Feyre's perceived promiscuity is hypocritical given his own actions. While he condemns Keir for disrespecting Feyre, Rhysand himself parades Feyre around in revealing clothing and treats her as an object of desire rather than a respected partner.
5. Failure to Recognize Feyre's Contributions : Despite Feyre's pivotal role in breaking Amarantha's tyranny and saving the Night Court, Rhysand's behavior fails to acknowledge or honor their achievements. Instead of treating Feyre with the respect and gratitude they deserve, Rhysand objectifies them and disregards their agency.
6. Disgusting Exhibitionism : Engaging in sexual activity in a public setting without consent is a form of exhibitionism that is disrespectful and degrading. It reduces intimacy to a spectacle for others' voyeuristic pleasure, disregarding the privacy and comfort of those involved.
In summary, Rhysand's actions in fingering Feyre in front of the Court of Nightmares without the consent of the people of the CON are reprehensible and disrespectful.
It highlights a pattern of disregarding Feyre's agency and dignity, while also demonstrating hypocrisy in his treatment of others who disrespect Feyre. Additionally, engaging in sexual activity in a public setting without consent is a form of exhibitionism that is degrading and disrespectful.

Shadows of Betrayal: Unveiling Hypocrisy and Exploitation
Masterlist
1. Prejudiced Views : Morrigan holds prejudiced views towards innocent people in the Court of Nightmares (CON), failing to recognize their humanity and potential for redemption. Her lack of action to help females trapped there perpetuates their suffering.
2. Lack of Empathy : Despite experiencing trauma herself, Morrigan lacks empathy towards Nesta's experiences of grooming and emotional abuse. She advocates for Nesta to be thrown into the Hewn City, demonstrating a lack of understanding or any humanity.
3. Complicity in Manipulation : Morrigan's involvement in the plan to make Nesta seduce Eris, the man Morrigan fought hard to escape marriage from, highlights her hypocrisy. She participates in manipulating Nesta's sexuality for their own gain, despite experiencing similar manipulation herself.
4. Double Standards in Relationships : Morrigan was forced into a relationship with Eris based on sex, using her virginity as a bargaining chip. Yet, she is complicit in subjecting Nesta to a similar fate, disregarding the parallels between their situations.
5. Failure to Recognize Exploitation : While Morrigan may not have been aware of Nesta's grooming and exploitation by her parents, her ignorance does not excuse her actions. She fails to recognize the exploitation inherent in using Nesta's sexuality as a tool without her consent.
6. Hypocrisy in Coping Mechanisms : Morrigan's hypocritical behavior extends to her coping mechanisms. While she indulges in clubs, excessive drinking, and wastes Rhysand's money she vilifies Nesta for engaging in similar behavior. Despite being significantly older and presumably wiser, Morrigan fails to recognize the parallel between her actions and Nesta's, perpetuating a double standard based on age and experience.
7. Selective Memory : Morrigan conveniently overlooks the trauma and abuse she endured in her past when participating in actions that harm others. Her selective memory allows her to justify her actions while disregarding the impact on others who may be experiencing similar pain.
8. Disregard for other Women : Morrigan's willingness to use Nesta's vulnerability and trauma for their own agenda is despicable. Her actions show that she's not a girls girls at all.
9. Failure to Break the Cycle : Despite her own experiences of being exploited and manipulated, Morrigan perpetuates the cycle of abuse by participating in actions that harm others. Her failure to break free from this cycle contributes to the perpetuation of harmful behaviors within their society.

Examining Hypocrisy: Cassian's Words and Actions in the Face of Eris' Trauma
Masterlist, Thank you to @watcherintheweyr 💗
In a recent incident, Cassian's choice of words towards a man who had just endured torture has sparked controversy and raised questions about his own actions and character.
Calling someone who has undergone torture a "coward" is not only insensitive but also hypocritical, especially coming from someone who prides himself on strength and valor.
It undermines the immense physical and psychological trauma that victims of torture endure, often leaving lasting scars that go far beyond mere cowardice.
What's particularly striking about Cassian's remark is the contrast between his harsh judgment of others' perceived weaknesses and his own actions when faced with adversity.
Despite his reputation as a fierce warrior, Cassian's inability to stand up for his mate during crucial moments challenges the very notion of bravery and loyalty that he espouses.
Rather than condemning others for their perceived shortcomings, perhaps Cassian should reflect on his own actions and consider how he can demonstrate true courage and integrity in the face of adversity.
Standing by one's friends and allies, even in the darkest of times, requires more than just physical strength—it demands unwavering loyalty and moral courage, qualities that Cassian should strive to embody in his own life.

Professor Sonic here to educate yall why Rhysand Hiding vital information about Feyre's body from her was wrong
1. Lack of informed consent : By withholding vital information about Feyre's pregnancy and the risks associated with childbirth, Rhysand denied her the opportunity to make an informed decision about her own body and reproductive health. Every individual has the right to know and understand the potential risks involved in pregnancy and childbirth, and Rhysand's failure to disclose this information deprived Feyre of her autonomy and agency.
2 . Endangering Feyre's health : Pregnancy and childbirth are inherently risky processes, and concealing information about potential complications puts Feyre's health and well-being at serious risk. By keeping her in the dark about the possibility that childbirth could be fatal, Rhysand failed to prioritize Feyre's safety and disregarded her right to access necessary medical care and support.
3. Emotional and psychological harm : Discovering the truth about the risks associated with childbirth after becoming pregnant can be deeply traumatic and emotionally distressing. Rhysand's decision to withhold this information not only endangered Feyre's physical health but also inflicted significant emotional harm, as Feyre was forced to grapple with the fear and uncertainty of facing a life-threatening situation without adequate preparation or support.
4. Lack of trust and communication : Healthy relationships are built on trust, honesty, and open communication. By choosing to hide vital information from Feyre, Rhysand undermined the foundation of trust in their relationship and created a barrier to effective communication. Feyre's ability to trust Rhysand and confide in him was compromised, leading to a breakdown in their relationship dynamics and exacerbating feelings of isolation and loneliness.
5. Sensory deprivation and isolation : Rhysand's decision to shield Feyre from everyone and everything, including crucial information about her pregnancy, subjected her to sensory deprivation and emotional isolation. Deprived of access to external support systems and resources, Feyre was left to navigate the challenges of pregnancy and impending childbirth alone, exacerbating her feelings of vulnerability and helplessness.
In summary, Rhysand's actions in hiding vital information about Feyre's pregnancy, including the risks associated with childbirth, were deeply wrong and harmful. They deprived Feyre of her autonomy, endangered her health, inflicted emotional trauma, undermined trust and communication in their relationship, and subjected her to sensory deprivation and isolation. It is essential for partners to prioritize honesty, transparency, and open communication in matters concerning reproductive health and to respect each other's autonomy and agency.

To draw a parallel between Feyre's actions in the Spring Court and concepts such as colonization and mass genocide, it's important to analyze the nuances and consequences of her actions. Here’s a detailed breakdown :
( because you idiots can't comprehend it can you ? )
Reasons for the Parallel:
1. Disruption of Established Communities :
- Colonization : Historically, colonizers disrupt existing societies, imposing new rules and systems, often disregarding the welfare of the local population.
- Feyre’s Actions : By undermining Tamlin's rule and sowing chaos in the Spring Court, Feyre disrupts the lives of its inhabitants, forcing them to live in fear and uncertainty.
2. Exploitation of Power Dynamics :
- Colonization : Colonizers typically exploit their superior power to dominate and control indigenous populations for their own benefit.
- Feyre’s Actions : Feyre, leveraging her position and abilities, manipulates the internal politics of the Spring Court primarily to serve her personal vendetta against Tamlin, rather than considering the impact on the common citizens.
3. Cultural and Social Displacement :
- Colonization : Indigenous cultures and social structures are often eroded or obliterated under colonial rule.
- Feyre’s Actions : By destabilizing the Spring Court, Feyre causes significant social upheaval. The citizens’ trust in their leadership and societal norms are shattered, akin to the cultural displacement seen in colonized societies.
4. Infliction of Psychological and Physical Harm :
- Genocide : Beyond physical violence, genocide includes the infliction of psychological terror and destruction of ways of life.
- Feyre’s Actions : Although not a literal genocide, Feyre’s actions inflict psychological harm on the Spring Court’s residents, instilling fear, paranoia, and instability, which mirrors the psychological impacts of genocidal actions.
5. Manipulation and Betrayal :
- Colonization : Colonial powers often employ manipulation and betrayal to achieve their goals, breaking treaties and exploiting trust.
- Feyre’s Actions : Feyre deceives and manipulates Tamlin and his court, betraying any semblance of alliance or trust for her personal goals.
6 . Brought to my attention by @wingsdippedingold , Justification Given :
Tumblr media
Political Leadership and Setting a Better Example:
1. Responsibility to Protect Civilians :
- As a political leader and High Lady, Feyre holds the responsibility to protect all civilians, including those in rival courts. Her actions should prioritize the welfare of innocents over personal grievances.
2. Ethical Use of Power :
- Leaders must use their power ethically, avoiding actions that harm innocent people. Feyre’s actions reflect a misuse of power for revenge, rather than for justice or the greater good.
3. Diplomacy over Sabotage :
- Effective leadership often requires diplomacy and conflict resolution rather than sabotage and subterfuge. Feyre could have sought diplomatic means to address her issues with Tamlin without causing widespread harm.
4. Setting Precedents :
- As a leader, Feyre’s actions set a precedent for future interactions between courts. By resorting to manipulation and causing civilian suffering, she undermines principles of justice and fair governance, encouraging a cycle of retaliation and conflict.
5. Moral Integrity :
- Leaders are expected to uphold high moral standards. Feyre’s actions, driven by personal vendetta, showcase a lack of moral integrity, damaging her credibility as a just leader.
Conclusion:
While Feyre's actions may not be a direct parallel to colonization and mass genocide in their most extreme forms, the underlying principles of causing widespread harm to innocent civilians for personal gain and disrupting societal structures draw notable similarities. As a political leader, Feyre’s actions should reflect a commitment to protecting all people under her influence, employing ethical and diplomatic solutions, and maintaining moral integrity to set a positive example for governance and conflict resolution.

Parallels of Power: Comparing SJM's Rhysand's Authoritarianism and Manipulation to Trump's Controversial Leadership and Zionist Tactics.
Inspired by this post by @1800naveen
1. Authoritarian Control and Memory Manipulation : Rhysand uses his power to wipe the memories of the inhabitants of the Hewn City to keep the existence of Velaris a secret. This manipulation can be compared to efforts in historical and political contexts where controlling information and rewriting history are used to assert dominance and justify territorial claims, similar to accusations against Israel regarding the narrative of the Israel-Palestine conflict.
2. Xenophobia and Segregation : Rhysand exhibits xenophobic and segregationist tendencies by instructing vendors in Velaris not to sell goods or provide lodgings to people from the Court of Nightmares (CON). This mirrors Donald Trump's xenophobic policies and rhetoric, such as the Muslim travel ban and his harsh stance on immigration, which aimed to segregate and discriminate against immigrants and certain ethnic groups.
3. Racist and Discriminatory Policies : Rhysand’s directive to the people of Velaris to deny services to CON inhabitants is akin to racial segregation policies. Trump’s administration was often criticized for implementing policies and making statements that were seen as racist, such as his comments about Mexican immigrants and his reluctance to denounce white supremacist groups.
4. Manipulative and Deceptive Leadership : Both Rhysand and Trump use manipulation and deceit to maintain control. Rhysand’s wiping of memories and secretive control over Velaris reflect manipulative leadership. Trump’s frequent use of misinformation and manipulation of facts to serve his agenda parallels this, creating a culture of distrust and division.
5. Ego and Narcissism : Rhysand’s actions often reflect his ego and self-perceived superiority, similar to Trump’s narcissistic behavior. Both leaders prioritize their image and control over the well-being of those they govern.
6. Polarizing and Divisive : Rhysand’s rule creates a deep divide between the inhabitants of Velaris and the rest of the Night Court. Trump’s presidency was marked by significant polarization in the United States, with his policies and rhetoric deepening divisions along political, racial, and socio-economic lines.
7. Control of Narrative and History : Rhysand’s control over information and history in Velaris is similar to accusations against Zionist efforts to control the narrative and historical perspective in the genocide Israel is carrying out in Palestine.
This comparison highlights the negative impact of altering historical narratives to maintain power and justify actions.
8. Use of Fear and Coercion : Rhysand uses fear to maintain control over the Hewn City and the Night Court. Trump often employed fear-mongering, particularly around immigration and national security, to rally support and justify controversial policies.
9. Disregard for Ethical Standards : Rhysand’s morally ambiguous decisions and willingness to violate ethical norms for what he perceives as the greater good are mirrored in Trump’s numerous ethical scandals and disregard for established political and social norms.
10. Zionist Ideology Parallels : The way Rhysand enforces segregation and manipulates history can be seen as reflecting Zionist ideology, where there are claims of historical revisionism and exclusionary practices.
This analogy criticizes Rhysand for adopting tactics that create division and propagate control through questionable means.
These points emphasize the negative aspects of Rhysand's character and actions, drawing parallels to Donald Trump's controversial leadership and policies, as well as contentious elements of the Israel-Palestine conflict and Zionist ideology.
This post is not intended to maliciously attack or vilify the character of Rhysand from Sarah J. Maas's "A Court of Thorns and Roses" series.
Instead, it aims to critically analyze and highlight how Maas’s white supremacist and racist views, alongside Zionist propaganda, are reflected in her writing. By drawing parallels to the controversial policies and actions of the Trump administration, this critique seeks to uncover underlying themes of xenophobia, segregation, and manipulation within the narrative.
The goal is to foster a deeper understanding of how such ideologies can permeate literature and influence reader perceptions.

Unveiling the Silence: Exploring Trauma Dynamics in Fictional Realms
Based on this post by @washmchineheart
1. Double Standards : Society often applies different standards to male and female characters, especially regarding trauma. Rhysand's trauma may be more readily acknowledged and validated due to prevailing biases that minimize or overlook the trauma experienced by female characters like Nesta.
2. Misconceptions about Sexual Assault : There can be a misconception that sexual assault experienced by male characters is more "legitimate" or "serious" than the emotional abuse or grooming experienced by female characters. This bias can lead to a prioritization of Rhysand's trauma over Nesta's experiences.
3. Normalization of Grooming : Grooming is often normalized or downplayed in narratives, particularly when it involves familial relationships. Society may be more inclined to overlook or minimize the impact of grooming, especially when perpetrated by a parent figure like Nesta's mother.
4. Character Perception and Likability : Rhysand is a beloved character in the series, and readers may be more inclined to sympathize with and validate his trauma due to their emotional attachment to him. In contrast, Nesta's character may be perceived differently, affecting the way her trauma is acknowledged and validated.
5. Narrative Focus and Framing : The narrative may focus more on Rhysand's trauma, giving it greater visibility and emphasis compared to Nesta's experiences. This framing can influence readers' perceptions and interpretations of the characters' respective traumas.
6. Power Dynamics within the Inner Circle : The Inner Circle's use of Nesta's trauma for their own gain reflects power dynamics within the group. They prioritize their objectives over Nesta's well-being, exploiting her vulnerability for their own purposes. ( not a sign of good leaders )
7. Justification through Character Flaws : Nesta's character flaws, such as her perceived coldness or distance, may lead some readers to justify or dismiss her trauma. This can contribute to a lack of validation for her experiences within the narrative and among readers.
8 . Lack of Awareness or Understanding : Some readers may simply lack awareness or understanding of the dynamics of grooming and emotional abuse, leading them to overlook or minimize Nesta's trauma compared to Rhysand's.
Overall, a combination of societal biases, character perceptions, narrative framing, and power dynamics within the story can contribute to the validation of Rhysand's trauma while ignoring or minimizing Nesta's experiences of grooming and emotional abuse.

Saw a feysand say that Rhys would hide Feyres birth control from her and they found it adorable ( yeah ik ) so Professor Sonic is here to educate yall :
Masterlist
Hiding a female's birth control without her knowledge or consent is an egregious violation of trust and autonomy, constituting toxic and unhealthy behavior for several reasons:
1. Consent and autonomy : Intentionally concealing or tampering with someone's birth control denies them the fundamental right to make informed choices about their own body and reproductive health. It disregards their autonomy and agency, eroding the foundation of trust and mutual respect in the relationship.
2. Reproductive coercion : Hiding or sabotaging birth control is a form of reproductive coercion, where one partner seeks to control the other's reproductive choices through manipulation or deceit. This can have serious consequences, including unintended pregnancy, which can impact a person's physical, emotional, and financial well-being.
3. Lack of communication and trust : Healthy relationships are built on open communication, honesty, and trust. Concealing birth control demonstrates a profound lack of communication and trust between partners, creating an environment of secrecy and manipulation rather than mutual understanding and respect.
4. Emotional and psychological harm : Discovering that one's partner has been hiding or tampering with their birth control can lead to feelings of betrayal, anxiety, and emotional distress. It undermines the foundation of trust in the relationship and can have long-lasting effects on one's mental health and well-being.
5. Legal and ethical implications : Hiding or tampering with someone's birth control may have legal consequences, as it constitutes a violation of their rights and can be considered a form of abuse or coercion. It is a breach of medical ethics and may result in legal action if discovered.
In summary, hiding a female's birth control is a deeply harmful and unethical .

Addressing Overbearing Behavior in Fandom Communities : A Call for Respect and Boundaries .
( please stop acting like everyone's parents go adopt a rock or something )
1. Polarization : The ACOTAR fandom is deeply polarized, with distinct pro and anti sides that often clash in heated debates. This polarization creates an "us vs. them" mentality, leading to animosity and hostility between fans.
2. Harassment and Defamation : Both pro and anti factions engage in harassment and defamation tactics against those with opposing views. This includes personal attacks, spreading rumors, and even cyberbullying. Such behavior creates a toxic environment where fans feel unsafe expressing their opinions.
3. Plagiarism and Unauthorized Sharing : Some fans take it upon themselves to share others' writing without permission or proper credit, leading to instances of plagiarism and copyright infringement. This not only violates the rights of the original creators but also fosters an atmosphere of mistrust and disrespect within the fandom.
4. Overzealous Policing : Certain members of the fandom appoint themselves as "fandom police," aggressively enforcing their own interpretations of canon and attacking anyone who deviates from their standards. This behavior stifles creativity and discourages diverse perspectives within the community.
5. Gatekeeping and Elitism : A sense of gatekeeping and elitism pervades the ACOTAR fandom, with some fans asserting their superiority based on arbitrary criteria such as length of time in the fandom or level of devotion to the series. This exclusivity alienates newer or casual fans and fosters a toxic hierarchy within the community.
6. Cancel Culture : The ACOTAR fandom is not immune to cancel culture, where fans attempt to "cancel" creators or fellow fans for perceived transgressions. This can lead to witch hunts and mob mentality, where individuals are ostracized and vilified without due process.
7. Lack of Constructive Dialogue : Meaningful discussion and debate are often overshadowed by vitriol and aggression within the fandom. Instead of engaging in respectful discourse, fans resort to personal attacks and insults, hindering the potential for constructive dialogue and growth.
8. Impact on Mental Health : The toxicity within the ACOTAR fandom takes a toll on the mental health of fans, leading to stress, anxiety, and even depression. Constant exposure to negativity and conflict can be emotionally draining and detrimental to overall well-being.
Overall, the ACOTAR fandom's toxic dynamics stem from a combination of polarization, harassment, gatekeeping, and cancel culture. Addressing these issues requires a collective effort to promote empathy, respect, and inclusivity within the community.

Also i figured out why I indulge in sm multishpping in Acotar Specifically, if I really love the characters and how their dynamic and relationship progresses and the writing I don't see anyone compatible for them other than each other ( example : Cherik, Kanej, Bagginshield, Wesper, Helnik, Nathaniel x Elisabeth, etc ) and if I see faults in the writing and am not as invested I'll go around multishpping and having fun.
Obviously this is not to say I don't like the characters, I just enjoy multishpping where I see the potential and when I don't it's one true pairing or nothing else.
