Saliscendi, un capolavoro indiscusso creato da Achille e Pier Giacomo Castiglioni. Originariamente progettato nel 1957 e costruito in due esemplari unici per la Camera di Commercio di Milano l'anno seguente, il Saliscendi è stato completamente riprogettato da Stilnovo utilizzando sorgenti LED dimmerabili 🍀

Questa lampada è regolabile e dispone di una doppia emissione di luce. Il suo corpo luminoso e il disco riflettente si muovono in modo silenzioso lungo i cavi, garantendo un'illuminazione che si adatta perfettamente alle tue necessità: i due componenti si spostano in direzioni opposte, permettendo di variare la quantità di luce diretta o indiretta a seconda della loro distanza relativa.

Recentemente inclusa nell'ADI Design Index 2022, questa notizia celebra, più di sessant'anni dopo il loro primo prototipo, il genio visionario di Achille e Pier Giacomo Castiglioni.

Brotherly Love Pier Giacomo Castiglioni - nicknamed “Popo” - was a prominent Italian architect and a pioneer of Italian design. According to Dino Gavina, he was one of the ten best designers in the world. The Italian architect and designer brothers Achille Castiglioni (1918-2002) and Pier Giacomo (1913-1968) became ‘Studio Castiglioni’ in 1938. Their father was the notable Italian architect Giannino Castiglioni. Their brother Livio Castiglioni became an architect and designer. Achille and Pier Giacomo both studied architecture at the ‘Politecnico di Milano’ and later worked there as teachers. Their collaboration was productive and innovative - the designs were often radical and humorous. Some of their best-known works include the ‘Mezzadro’ chair featuring a tractor seat, and many lighting designs for ‘Flos’ including the ‘Snoopy’ table lamp and the floor lamp ‘Toio’ that is lit by a car headlight. Acting out of both practical and intellectual motives, Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni designed the Mezzadro Stool by bolting a tractor seat to a chrome and wood base. They were also inspired by the readymades of early 20th-century artist Marcel Duchamp, which combined preexisting objects into inventive constructions with new uses. By engaging in similar acts of appropriation, designers were able to create surprise and novelty with forms made from found materials. Toio nasce dall’ironica reinterpretazione della parola inglese toy (giocattolo) ad opera di Achille e Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, che ne fanno un termine più familiare e carico di significato.

Questa lampada è un vero e proprio “giocattolo” per adulti: nel 1962, i fratelli Castiglioni assemblarono un fanale speciale d’auto importato dagli Stati Uniti, passanti da canna da pesca e un contrappeso pesante come trasformatore alla base, dando vita a un oggetto che unisce funzionalità e creatività in modo giocoso 🤩

Toio è una lampada da terra facilmente trasportabile e perfetta per essere posizionata esattamente dove serve di più in casa 👍
