Rusak

Anyeong haseyo yorobun. Ku sekarang sedang di library earth sciences gatau juga mau kerja apa padahal banyak sih yang harusnya dikerjain. Tapi kepala tuh lagi ruwet gitu. Berujung dari jam 11-an chat-an aja sama Abi dan Iqbal terkait banyak hal (tapi senang banget sih). Kenapa ruwet intinya terkait progress research lah ya. Terus paling aneh dalam seminggu terakhir: headphone JBL-ku rusak yang sudah tidak terselamatkan lagi,  kabelnya sampai keluar-keluar gitu. Akhirnya ku beli lah headphone baru yang noise-cancelling kali ini, mereknya Soundcore. Ku sudah punya portable speaker Soundcore juga yang selama ini kupake buat nonton konser online dan dengerin music kenceng-kenceng aja di rumah, dan itu mayan bagus. Jadi ku sudah lumayan percaya-lah dengan Soundcore by Anker ini… So far ok sih headphone ini: noise-cancelling-nya worked fine, buat call juga barusan OK, kata Abi lebih keredam gitu suara orang-orang di sekitar w.

Terus belum selesai sampai di situ saja teman-teman kemalanganku: si laptop Acer Swift 3 yang sudah kubeli dari May 2019 itu tiba-tiba di hari apa ya kemarin… Selasa, pagi-pagi pas kubuka laptop PATAH ENGSELNYA (emoji menangis). Masih bisa dipake sih overall aman banget, tapi gabisa ditutup dan jadinya kubawa pulang ngablak gitu aja kaya Lenovo yoga kalau gak ditutup…. Pas di jalan akhirnya ku langsung buru-buru beli laptop baru… Paling aneh dari semua peristiwa ini adalah: aku kalem banget?? Kaya yaudah iklas aja gitu dalam hati “yah patah. Yah yaudahdeh beli baru aja” Aneh banget???

Selasa sorenya dari minggu lalu udah diajakin Oliv buat piknik di Uni Park sama Puspa juga. Semua orang pada bawa makanan: inari, wakame, brownies, terus cuma diriku aja yang bawa badan doang HUHU. Karena masih syok juga sih dengan laptop…

Yaudahsih mau update itu aja kayanya…

Btw thanks to writing this, ku jadi keinget mau ngemail eage, kemarin ku diminta submit list students ui buat dibayarin konferens ke kuala lumpur. Baru sadar, udah gak kenal mahasiswa siapa-siapapun lagi(?) terakhir ngajar adalah angkatan 2018 dan terakhir habis ada cirip viral yang dia ngerjain endapan sungai antroposen… gils udah pada lulus aja mahasiswa-ku HUHU.

Sekarang gatau mau ngapain lagi kayanya mau pulang aja ah capek (literally ga ngapa-ngapain hari ini tapi emang males banget lagi gapengen kerja). Udah jam 16.16 juga…

idk if anyone's looking for a new laptop rn or how much weight my recommendation has, BUT. I have had my Acer Swift X for about a year now and I'm very happy with it. It's cheap, it has decent specs, and the only times it's had disastrous day-ruining crashes are when I was doing projects in AfterEffects, and I blame AfterEffects for that tbh.

It's about $800 on Amazon right now, so slightly cheaper then when I bought it! I think there is a slightly newer model, but honestly this one is Fine.

I would recommend picking up a usb splitter and an HDD drive to go with it, but tbh I would recommend that for any laptop. External storage is so damn cheap rn, you might as well (ALSO YOU CAN INSTALL YOUR STEAM GAMES STRAIGHT TO AN HDD TO SAVE INTERNAL SPACE AND THEN JUST PLUG N PLAY)

well, there are many good laptops out there. it mostly matters what kind of budget you have.

but i will say you can’t go wrong with acer. don’t go for lenovo, their laptops are bs. i had one and then had to replace it after two years.

also, hp is pretty solid, but if you want to run genshin, you probably should go with an acer swift. i have the spin 3, but i think there is also a 5 out. didn’t ho for the swift one, since i also need the laptop as notebook for my school. the one i have now is really better than the lenovo (yoga) i had and it also costed 200 bucks less.

dunno if you want to go for apple? that’s also a possibility, but yeah… very expensive and even if i‘m an apple user, they feel weird and complicated to me.

also the overheating part. your laptop is going to run hot, no matter what. genshin is just too big for ordinary laptops (not gaming laptops) so you can’t avoid that. some aren’t even strong enough to open the game or run it smoothly on low settings.
