We have some manufacturers that do raise free range animals, but they’re not as common as the big corporation mistreatment. But luckily free range is getting more popular!

That's good! Happy animals give better food output, so maybe that'll encourage big corporations to stop mistreating their animals.

Most lead pretty sad lives, it's depressing.

Milk cows, on the other hand...

The ones in the US are probably not all that happy, but in Japan they have spas for those bovines. Happy and unstressed cows give better milk, apparently.

Yeah chickens get the worst of it probably. Cows get a pretty crappy treatment too, they get fed corn, which they can’t digest and have e. coli, which is why beef is treated with ammonia.

It's a shame that they keep doing that :/

If they fed the cows right, we wouldn't have to treat beef with ammonia in the first place v-v

I'd be a pretty sad cow if I was in a bad farm, haha

No no I agree. It’s unfortunate that a lot of it is done inhumanely, but they’d die pretty inhumane anyway getting eaten by something bigger or more vicious in the wild anyway. It’s the cycle of life, that’s how it works.

Yeah, death in the wild isn't always so pleasant eAe But yes, that's how it goes.

The only difference being that we can do it more humanely, but some people choose not to. It's sad, but :/

What I'm sad about are mass-bred chickens, they lead a really harsh life v-v Hopefully, things are done to fix it. Meat tastes better if the animal was happy, it seems? (since there's not so much adrenaline all through the muscles :U )

Most animals do better with human intervention than they would in the wild. Like cows. They’d be extinct if it wasn’t for humans because they were super vicious and dangerous before we started domesticating them. Plus animals get fed better in zoos.

Especially with how a lot of their environment is being tilled away by human development. A lot of animals in zoos also help to educate humans about their wild counterparts, so they are better understood and, in a wild encounter, the human would know what to do and how to avoid conflict. And yes, they also get very good food, and in good zoos, they also get good exercise, mental and physical.

Yes! A lot of animals, like cows, wouldn't be alive today if they weren't raised like cattle! A lot of people would go 'BUT YOU RAISE THEM TO EAT THEM!11'. Well, humans are omnivores. We eat meat and vegetables, it's what our body processes and how it works best, as we get all the nourishment we need. Yes, we raise cows in a friendly environment and eat them, but they'd get eaten regardless, wild or not. They are prey animals. The only bad part is if they are not killed humanely, but that trend is currently only in one big company (there's a lot of campaigns against it and I hope they win) as far as I know (I'm no expert, though!).

I understand people getting mad about stuff like killing bulls, that cruel spaniard sport, but raising animals to eat them is nothing to be crying about. I mean, we also eat plant 'fetus', as in fruits, so...
