Beyond Evil: The Romcom
I've always said that barring all the murder and mystery elements, Beyond Evil is at its core a romantic comedy, and here's the proof (aside from Hakyun and Jingoo themselves pushing the agenda lol):
Bear in mind that if this is a romcom, not a thriller, it means Everybody Lives ™ and No One is A Murderer ™
Our main protagonist is of course our eccentric small-town hero, Lee Dongsik, who's known for his quirkiness and idiosyncratic tendencies in solving crime. His unorthodox methods of catching criminals earns him the grudging respect of the Regional Investigation Unit, where he works under his mentor and beloved second father, Nam Sangbae.
The office is situated at the Seoul Metropolitan Government Office, where our hero meets the other male lead: Han Joowon, esteemed Inspector working in Foreign Affairs, renowned for his keen intellect, cold personality, and most importantly, the notoriety of his rich and powerful family.
A particular difficult case involving the disappearance of illegal immigrants forces Foreign Affairs and the RIU to work together, and an unlikely partnership between each department's best officer.
The second lead is our hero's longtime childhood best friend, Park Jeongje, whom Dongsik thought was initially in love with his twin, Yuyeon. Yuyeon liked Jeongje but not enough to give up her ambition for him, and when Jeongje left for the states, Yuyeon graduated from Seoul National University as summa cum laude and passed as the bar topnotcher.
Yuyeon had the brains, but unfortunately not the connections, and with her background AND her gender she found it difficult to prove herself at the law firm where she was hired, and goes head to head with the ambitious Kwon Hyuk.
Unbeknowst to Dongsik, he was actually the one Jeongje was in love with. Do Haewon finds out and she's against it because she wants Jeongje to have that traditional marriage with a traditional family because for Jeongje to come out of the closet would affect her image as a rising politician.
Han Kihwan, for his part, is seeing how his normally poised and law-abiding son is being pulled into questionable methods by Dongsik, and vows to separate their partnership.
Dongsik's and Joowon's begrudging partnership also leads Yuyeon's and Kwon's paths to cross more often, and a budding romance develops between the lawyers as the side couple.
Lee Changjin is still Oh Jihwa's ex-husband, and no matter how Dosoo tries to arrange blind dates for Jihwa, she turns them all down. Dosoo wonders why she doesn't have time to date if all she does is visit Jaeyi's butcher shop even after work.
Jaeyi herself gets questioned often by her mother and the ahjummas in town why she won't get herself a boyfriend, especially that handsome young officer from Foreign Affairs who keeps visiting, and she only smiles and doesn't answer every time she reserves a seat for Jihwa after work hours, just for the two of them.
Minjeong, meanwhile, sneaks behind everyone's back to date Jihoon, but Dongsik, overprotective of her ever since he became her legal guardian after her parents abandoned her, keeps getting in her way. It causes a tense friction between him and Jihwa, as Jihwa asks if Dongsik thinks her brother isn't good enough for his ward.
Jeongje of course, sees this as an opportunity to side with Dongsik, and it causes friction with his friendship with Jihwa as well, which also then causes friction between Jaeyi's friendship with Dongsik, and drama ensues.
Upon seeing how Dongsik is distracted by his mysterious new partner, Han Joowon, Minjeong takes it upon herself to make sure those two get together so Dongsik wouldn't focus all his attention on her and she gets to do what she wants. Hijinks ensue, especially when he ropes in Jihoon in her plans.
Somehow this leads to Minjeong and Jihoon accidentally discovering an international crime syndicate and they both get kidnapped for it, but not to worry because Everybody Works Together™ to save them and unravel the crime syndicate at the same time.
Han Kihwan and Do Haewon finally sees and understands Dongsik's true worth to both Joowon and Jeongje, and in the end, Dongsik asks Joowon if they can extend their partnership outside of work.
Jaeyi and Jihwa end up together, Yuyeon and Hyuk end up together, Minjeong and Jihoon end up together, and Jeongje comes to terms with his feelings for Dongsik and vows to be there as his best man.
At the wedding held overseas, Jeongje is reunited with Yuyeon, and tells him she wishes happiness for him too, someday. She and his twin brother will always be there for him no matter what.
At the reception, Dongsik introduces Jeongje to this new young officer: Lee Sangyeob. Sangyeob tells him he was Dongsik's former partner, and they spent the rest of the reception laughing and commiserating over Dongsik.
And they lived happily ever after. As they ALL should.
#beyond evil#romcom version#crack treated seriously#but is this really crack if it's all already canon anyway lol

tidus/yuna post x-2 headcanons vol.2
pt. 1
pt. 3
- previously on keeping up with the besaidians: Gippal plays pranks on Tidus . so anyway. Gippal's respect for Tidus and general opinion on the guy improves tenfold when he finds out he's at least somewhat handy with machina (having grown up in the machina city of Zanarkand). kinda like not every one of us is a computer technician but say we were suddenly whisked into a foreign world with basic technology only recently legalized and a general majority of population afraid to use it – we'd have something to contribute. (also this is canonically plausible – see the machina boss battle on the Al Bhed ship in Luca, where Tidus saves the day by pointing out that they can utilize the crane) like I don't see Gippal offering him a job with the Machine Faction anytime soon, more like Tidus travels with Yuna and sometimes they visit Djose and he'll notice something the workers missed (like in some ‘new’ type of machina freshly salvaged from the bottom of the ocean) or maybe even casually fixes something that's everyday in Zanarkand. (Tidus also knows like anyone who's dealt with a computer ever that sometimes they just need a good keyboard-smash. also see proof in canon.)
- Gippal's opinion on Tidus improves hundredfold when he, through small details and tidbits Rikku/Cid/....Brother I guess just kinda casually mention, finds out about his history with them and other Al Bhed starting with his very first day in Spira and how he always defended them and treated them like everyone else (of course there's the fact that he was not brought up a Yevonite and thus never brainwashed to hate them but idk if Gippal cares about nuance all that much. but this is one thing that technically earns Lulu the greater credit! altho they shoulda just told wakka about yuna from the very beginning argh)
- also remind me to draw Gippal & Tidus unlikely brotp/teamup art
- let's talk kids. first I gotta acknowledge @leviathkandy ‘s absolutely amazing headcanon that they might adopt, bc for some reason that never crossed my mind and it's so perfect actually!!! I could very well see some kids orphaned by Sin just kinda starting to hang around them in Besaid (like that cockblocking kid at the campfire that a certain legendary lady obviously sent Yuna's way EXCEPT BETTER. that’s right BETTER. BETTER KIDS.) or maybe they even pick one up on their various travels buuuut point is I could see it happening kinda in a half-accidental/organic fashion? and then developing into a Cloud/Tifa in AC sort of situation without the leaving and terminal illness and angst (sry Cloud you hang in there-bud)
- also here 's some highly hypothetical biological Tuna offspring I drew up
- (in any case all their 25 kids grow up to be amazing and nothing bad ever happens in their lives ever. they always in every situation heed their flawless parents' spot-on advice and respect and adore them 124,7% 24/7. tidus and yuna never age yet grow wiser every-year-and-also-nothing-bad-ever-happens-to-them-either. the end-except-not-bc-they-never-die
- OKAY fine. they do get older. and this silly doodle aside...I kinda see them both retaining their youthful spirits but perhaps in slightly different ways. Tidus of course keeps active well, well beyond middle age and even tho that certainly keeps him vigorous in body & soul, he kinda has a hard time dealing with the inevitable effects of aging and from time to time ends up hurting himself due to constant gross overestimation of his physical condition & capability (I feel like I'm again heavily influenced by if not straight-up copying @leviathkand's post here BUT IT'S TOO REAL THO). whenever this happens, somehow, inexplicably, defying all laws of physics and likelihood Lulu of all people is always there (while Yuna is always far off somewhere, also bafflingly and against all odds). and so the task of providing first aid (= healing incantations... and sometimes just a bandaid/good scolding) falls on her begrudging shoulders. the pattern repeats so often is sorta becomes a running gag between the Besaid gang (except when he gets seriously injured, which happens a couple of times, then no one jokes around except Tidus) also, imagine middle-aged/elderly Lulu. just imagine. if u dare lol.
- Yuna, growing into adulthood, after that teen rebel phase important character development sooorta mellows back into her X personality with added wisdom and outspokenness and attention to her own needs. what I mean with "mellowing" is going back to a more poised and... sophisticated presence, I guess? I feel like I'm wording this all wrong, but yeah. basically a combo of her X and X-2 personas, best of both worlds adsdsaf. however when she's pushing 80-90 she regresses (or evolves???) riiiight back to her spherehunter days and starts spouting stuff like "your plan sucks and so does your face" and "oh poopie" while still somehow being the most elegant and well-spoken woman in the whole wide Spira.
- aaand back to their young and hot selves. there's lots of theories going around about Tidus's identity and origins because of course there would be. literally a nobody out of frekking nowhere who’s somehow both former guardian and s.o. to their beloved High Summoner and a stellar blitzball player to boot? missing for a while? weirdly clueless about mundane everyday stuff yet comfortable with machina? (he’s a sheltered Bikanel-native Al Bhed obvi) some people of course remember him from the pilgrimage but like, did anyone actually pay attention to him back then lol. of course Tidus & Yuna can't just go public with the truth because the story is as bizarre as it is tragic and highly personal to them in many ways too, so they both kinda dance around the subject and make punny inside jokes under their breath that sometimes get quoted as actual answers and the speculation gets wilder.
- however once it comes out that he's actually Sir Jecht's son (idk why I feel either Cid or Brother would let it slip. or maybe Brother is just anonymously calling up tabloids out of jealousy lol) everybody just EXPLODES and forgets about everything else. the power couple's popularity instantly climbs to an all-time high, and it’s all anyone talks about for a good few months and then some. howeverrr Tidus is less than pleased. he may have made his peace with Jecht but is still not quite over the man’s former monstrous alter ego and all the suffering he brought upon Spira (if unwillingly). again, their real story is in large part simply too traumatic and too intimate to share
- they totally re-enacted the laughing scene. you know they did. (obviously on that very same balcony in luca) it was an embarrassing failure tho, as they almost immediately started laughing for real and nobody even batted an eye or noticed anything unusual given that not a day passes by that the two don't have at least one shared giggle fit (and at really random stuff too, like the wind when it's nice) also, they were about 50 when this took place. for the 15th time.
#ffx#ffx-2#Tidus#yuna#tidus x yuna#ffx meta#ffx-2 meta#too fluffy??#prolly.#but i like to save the angst for fanfiction#also#my stupidest irrational fear is that#one of my headcanons was actually somehow addressed in canon#and I jUSt can'T remembER#mostly only with x-2#i know ffx by heart and that is not an overstatement#*rewrites resume*

If you would like this verse, please let me know before we thread.// Alpha was created by Doctor Albert WIly a few days after Zero. Wily’s original idea was to make a duo named Alpha and Omega, but after putting his hard work into Zero he forgot to add in the actual programming to make him the Omega that he wanted. So he scrapped the idea and created Alpha, a lone wolf robot that could function on her own or in a group.
Alpha was made with wolf ears and a tail so even when she took off the armor the ears and tail were still prominent. Alpha enjoyed her time after creation with all of her brothers. Splash Woman was a creation of Dr. Light, so she was the first and only female Wilybot ever created. Both Alpha and Zero became fast friends, Zero going as far as to be protective of her around male robots that weren’t part of the family. Forte was also protective of her, but in a more aggressive way. Not that any male robot in their right mind would want to date a Wilybot.
So Alpha grew up with only her 80+ brothers for company and companionship. She really has no idea how to be a girl in all technicality, but that doesn’t really bother her.
Then came... Something? She’s not quite sure what happened to her, but next thing she knew she was going in and out consciousness and finally passed out from near fatal injuries. She did not wake up until at least 100 years had passed. Someone found her... Someone named Dr. Doppler. He introduced himself as a scientist who accidentally came across the remains of the lab she was in. He told her that she had been asleep for a long time, and was curious if she remembered anything. Except for how she ended up here, all memories were crystal clear. She expressed concern for her brothers, but found that Dr. Doppler had no idea where they were. He only knew where Zero was, but Zero apparently did not remember her.
Well that sucked...
She decided to steer clear of Zero for the time being. Better not anger him or something.
Dr. Doppler was kind to her. Unlike her creator, Doppler was always in a good mood and did not take his anger out on others. Until suddenly... Everything changed. Doppler started becoming more like her creator and it scared her. Why the sudden change? Dopplertown was a peaceful town and the one that she considered her father wouldn’t tolerate bad things happening to the city.
Yet he was.
Crime ran rampant, and soon her father was building a new body for someone named Sigma. She avoided Bit and Byte when they were hired, and when Vile was brought into the picture she left. The first time the two met he had tried to flirt with her.
She didn’t like that. Alpha faced resistance from the now infected police when she tried to leave and warn the Maverick Hunters, but was imprisoned for ‘treasonous’ behavior. Alpha was kept in a small cell for months, trying to figure out what she had done wrong. Nothing came to mind. She felt she was doing the right thing by trying to warn the hunters and hopefully reunite with Zero.
There was barely anyone who stopped by her cell to even see if she needed repairs, because the solitude was slowly driving her to insanity. She couldn’t think straight. Nothing seemed right and voices were starting to appear out of thin air. Alpha didn’t know what was real or fake anymore.
After nearly six months in solitary confinement, Zero came across her cell while fighting his way to where X was. She was mumbling something about Wily and the Virus along with Zero’s name and “Don’t leave me alone.”
She needed help after being trapped in there for so long. Her mind was slowly breaking and she needed assistance getting out. She was taken to Maverick Hunter HQ for immediate repairs and scans to get an overall view of the mental damage that solitude had wrought on her mind. It turns out that there was some damage to her mind, but not enough to label her a true Maverick or completely insane. She still had cognitive thought and reasoning, but due to her being a combat reploid, she couldn’t be put in a regular mental hospital. Even the high security sections had trouble with her due to her lapses in judgement. The hunters tried putting her there, but with no luck as she had hurt three reploids in the course of a day. All reploids hurt had serious injuries, but not fatal ones.
The hunters had no choice to keep watch over her, much to Alpha’s dismay and their begrudging. Due to her combat skills, only Zero or X could subdue her completely.
It was discovered that Zero and Alpha were made from the exact same material, linking them to the same creator. At first Zero was hesitant to believe it, but then as he got to know Alpha, who told him stories about the past and the 80+ brothers that he had forgotten about, Zero caved. There was something familiar about her as soon as he laid eyes on her back in that tiny cell, and now there was proof of a relationship between the two.
Zero took her in, and from then on is helping her with her issues caused not only by the isolation, but with the Zero Virus as well. Alpha was found out to be infected during the 5th Maverick War, but was only told 10 years afterward along with Zero.
From that point onward, Alpha has been under strict watch by the hunters, but on terms of good behavior she can go outside and do things by herself.
And if she wants to, she’s free to help the hunters out not only inside the base but outside as well. Just as long as Zero is with her, she’s just fine. Appearance:
(With Helmet)
(Without Helmet)
Personality: Alpha can be a jovial, silly reploid with a tendency to make stupid puns and jokes just to get others to crack a smile. She loves being outside and doing things with her hands like planting flowers or beating the shit out of Mettaurs and other mechanaloids, although she finds the Mettaurs to be rather cute. She actually has a giant Mettaur plush thanks to Zero getting it for her one time at Christmas. Alpha can also be sarcastic and sassy when she wants to be, although she prefers to be a major annoyance to anyone with the name Zero. (Hint: There’s only one!) But through all the toughness there is a scared child inside Alpha’s body. She was never really allowed to do a lot of things that are considered normal for reploids to do like socialize and go outside. And due to her iffy mental state, things that are considered normal for reploids to do are heavily encouraged for Alpha to do.
Alpha has some mental issues that have noting to do with the six month imprisonment, although the imprisonment just made them worse. They are:
PTSD Anxiety Depression
