The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a centralized national level entrance exam conducted annually for admissions to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs at 22 National Law Universities (NLUs) in India. CLAT scores are also accepted by various other private and government law colleges across the country.

CLAT Eligibility Criteria:

For UG Programs: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).

For PG Programs: Candidates must have completed LL.B or equivalent degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates).

Exam Pattern:

UG CLAT Exam Pattern: The UG CLAT exam consists of 150 multiple-choice questions divided into five sections - English Language, Current Affairs, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques. Each correct answer carries 1 mark, while 0.25 marks are deducted for each incorrect answer.

PG CLAT Exam Pattern: The PG CLAT exam consists of 120 multiple-choice questions and two essay-type questions. The multiple-choice questions cover topics such as Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, and other law subjects. Each correct answer carries 1 mark, and there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
