Alexandre was sweating, keeping his mind on his footwork. He thrust forward, keeping his body inline and keeping his feet up. His combatant effortlessly parried him and responded with his own strike. Alex retreated too quickly, catching his fleeing front foot on his rear foot. His combatant took advantage of this momentary stumble and struck, touching Alex’s chest before stepping back and lowering the sword to his side.

     “Master Alexandre, you must remember to keep pace with your rear foot. However, you are certainly improving.” The man removed a small handkerchief from his pocket, and used it to wipe his face, smiling broadly.

     “Well, it doesn’t hurt to have such an excellent teacher Francois.” Alex smiled at his instructor and friend.

     A booming voice echoed through the room from behind them.

     “It wouldn’t do to have anything but the best for a young Vicomte to be.” The elder Accart smiled warmly as he tapped his hand on his own rapier hilt.

     “Remember son, the sword is more than a mark of nobility, it is a mark of honor. It signifies that we are more the common folk it signifies that you are la noblesse”

     Standing behind the wheel of his sinking ship, Alexandre smiled as a wave crashed over the deck. He reveled in the memory one more time. By now Elias would safely be on his way to the western port to board a ship to the northern colonies. He sighed and took a sip of his brandy, resting his hand on the hilt of his rapier. The sunset was beautiful. Crimson red and bright orange streaked across the western Caribbean sky, painting the ocean with the sadness of another day gone by, or with the promise of another night, whichever way one preferred to look at it.

     In that moment, Alex laughed at the absurdity of it all. The twist and turns that had led him to this point. He took another swig of brandy and looked out at the burning ships on the other horizon. The Spanish flag waving proudly over tattered sales and splintered beams.

     He thought for a minute what his father would think if he could see him now. He couldn’t help but chuckle as he realized that the old vicomte would probably be rolling in his grave if he knew his son.

     “Nothing I can do about it now” he takes another swig as he watches the ships burn on the horizon.

     Another wave crashes over the deck, sending the vessel further down. Pretty soon the quarterdeck would go under.

I’m FINALLY finished the storyboarding process for the Linked universe fan animation, episode one! IM SO GLAD!

Now I can get started on the animation process!

I’ll be posting updates and pictures and videos on the animation process! I’ll definitely post the storyboard (but I’ll cut out important story parts so no spoilers!) just so you can all see what the animation will come out as.

I’m just so looking forward to how it will be once it’s finished!
