Actually I think you should unapologetically use the Forbidden Magic to revive your dead girlfriend, and if the Consequences come later, that's a problem for tomorrow.

Oh my goodness I just did Baizhu's story quest (yes over a year late)
If you know it and you've read anything I've ever written I shouldn't have to say this, but I am SO in love with it. It's also probably the single best written thing in Genshin in recent memory, and not just because it aligns with my personal morals. But that's also a nice change coming from a game that has given me countless quests that left me rooting for the villain to beat out my own characters.

Why not just bring him back from the dead if you can? Good! Everyone is happy! Fuck your natural order, we saved dad. Maybe not forever, but for now, and that's a start.

This is going to sound truly mad, but bear with me.
I think, in a way, I might really believe in Yaoshi. Not as literally real, but believe nonetheless.
I am, in reality, an atheist, but not by choice. I would find the world much more comforting if I could believe in a higher power, but I can't convince myself that any exists. It seems too wildly implausible.
But presented with a deity who I already know doesn't actually exist, who nobody is trying to claim does exist, that whole factor of the argument is out of the picture. Instead of getting stuck in suspension of disbelief, I can get past "is it true" and reach "what would it mean?"
It means believing in life. It means believing "As long as there's life, there are possibilities." That it's worth trying to survive, always. And that the limitations of humanity are there to be surpassed, not bowed before.

"Hmm, you know, Hoyo is never going to have main characters who aren't humanoid for technical and financial reasons. So I can judge the likelihood of Abundance ever being portrayed in a positive light by whether its species have hot girl potential!"

It's not looking good.

Normal hsr fans: omg remembrance path
Me: is this bad for AbundanceCoin
(Translation: uneven number of paths to types now, plus Natlan showing they're willing to skip mc getting one of the powers sometimes, plus what Xz/Luocha/RM are up to, I'm worried we'll never get the pro-Abundance chapter I'm craving.)

Something not immediately obvious until you talk to a bunch of rando street NPCs is that the entire Foxian and Vidyadhara species are prisoners of the Xianzhou.
For the "crime" of just happening to have long lifespans, they are confined to the fleet, under penalty of death should they attempt to settle on a planet.
And it's not even a Yaoshi thing. A document directly confirms the Vidyadhara are untouched by Them.
The reason given is that they'd ruin any ecosystem by living too long (overpopulation), but that's obvious baloney when the Vidyadhara can't even reproduce.
The more time I spend on this stupid ship the more I hate the XL. I wanna go back to Ms. Herta's and play with funny curios instead.

Reignbow Arbiter, this will be the last time I write to you. I wish all that you hope to destroy are resurrected. I wish all that you hope to preserve is annihilated. I wish all lives in the land will thrive contrary to your desires. I wish all stars in the sky will be dimmed because of your existence. I wish this cosmos to be full of life, and not full of death. I wish the Alliance will exist forever, but not in the way you desired.

I made a comment to my spouse today that "you can't pretend to kill a character in act 1, then actually kill them in the finale. Well, unless you're Star Trek 2."
But now thinking about it, it feels like there is a nonzero chance of HSR lifting that sequence of events directly.
Before the release of ST2, people had heard that Spock was going to die in it. To get people to relax and enjoy the movie, he "died" early on, but it was revealed to be a simulation. Then at the end, he sacrifices himself to save the Enterprise and dies for real.
I can absolutely see Firefly's story going this way.
But if you know Star Trek, you know what happens next. Spock's body is left on a planet undergoing rapid terraforming that creates life out of nothing, and he is revived in the third movie.
And what do you know, HSR also has a place where life grows wild and death has no hold. Now given how evilly it's been portrayed, they'd have to really reverse course to finish this analogy, but what if we went there next, and in 3.2, TB gets the ol Yaoshi gaze and is able to revive Firefly. Cue To Be Continued, then they finally reunite in 3.3, along with some pretty severe consequences from the Hunt.
To be clear I do not think this is likely, nor do I want it to happen (just let her on the train and be happy), but I would love to see Stelle get full abundancepilled and just give the finger to anyone who doesn't want her reviving her gf.
Or maybe I'm just really into Forbidden Girlfriend Resurrection lately. It's romantic okay
(Another theory is that she's gonna get stellaronned like us, which cures her, but is also probably Not Good in the future.)
