LOKI EPISODES 4 and 5, HOLY SHIT!

Let me tell you, this past week was insane! I did manage to watch Episode 4 last week but pretty much fell asleep straight after so I completely missed writing about Episode 4!

So let's talk about that one first before I lose my absolute shit at Episode 5!

As always, HEAVY SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT!

So then... it is finally revealed that Ravonna had something to do with Kang before. I can't say I'm too surprised. And of course she would just kill a bunch of people to get her way.

Quite interesting how she pretended Loki was the villain this whole time when it's actually her. And don't even get me started on Brad!

I have a feeling we're gonna have a big confrontation in the final episode... but I'm getting ahead of myself--I am way too hyped now after Episode 5.

Now, I have to say, Episode 4 didn't have an awful lot of Loki in it, haha! But hells, did Episode 5 make up for that... DAMN!

The cliffhanger was something else. Obviously, the suspense wasn't one of "oh no, they're doomed and everyone's dead now" but rather "oh shit, how are they going to fix THAT?!"

Good thing it wasn't Loki who went out there... so much for spaghettification. So with that... let's move on to Episode 5 so I can lose my absolute shit!

The very moment O.B. mentioned that Loki might be able to control time slipping I was like 👀. I had a feeling where this was going but... patience, patience, patience.

I swear my poor heartbroken God of Mischief... the fact the timelines were all just evaporating was honestly scary. I mean, imagine your reality is falling apart and there is NOTHING left. NOTHING. And there's nowhere for you to go.

I thought it was convenient that Loki would show up in his friends' timelines until I realised there was a reason for that. Speaking of which... B15 was a doctor, aw! And Mobius finally has his Jetskis! And two sons?! GODS! I hope that they'll be able to combine their TVA life and their timeline life. There's gotta be a way, right?

But to be fair... Casey didn't wanna go back to prison (did you hear him say "they're gonna gut us like fish" I was cackling), Mobius loves jetskis but doesn't seem to be 100% fulfilled with this job... O.B. is a writer who's trying to make it (I felt that) and I guess... you could say B15 has great purpose as a doctor but still! So... I'm still with Loki, they did have a purpose at the TVA and it should be their choice.

I totally love the conversation between Loki and Sylvie here and the fact that she admitted that she's selfish. Is Loki selfish too? Yes and no. Yes, he wants his friends back. But why? Because he CARES about them. And because he knows that most of them aren't actually as happy as they should be in their timelines. Also, naturally, if he doesn't fix this, then all of reality will evaporate so his argument is quite valid.

I swear when he said "where do I belong then"... I was SO DAMN CLOSE TO TEARS. I just wanted to HUG him so bad! Because it's true, isn't it? Loki has no timeline to go back to. He can't just show up in Asgard and pretend like nothing ever happened. But a life like the one Sylvie thinks she's happy with, working at McDonald's? That's not it for Loki, we all know that! I swear... by the end of Season 2 it will be official that he found his glorious purpose!

I mean... just the fact that he was willing to give it all up alone... to let Mobius and everyone else go back to their timelines... NO ONE DARE SAY HE IS A VILLAIN EVER AGAIN, OUR PRECIOUS BABY!

I know I said we don't need Loki to be a self-righteous hero and we don't but the character development in this episode, the reflection of what's been going on with him... SO DAMN GOOD! It's proof that Loki has a good heart, honestly! I mean... we knew that already, it's not the first time we saw it on display but still... awww!

So what's next? Loki, the lord of time... I mean, I'm sorry... did he just become the most powerful being in the MCU?! JUSTICE FOR LOKI AT LAST! I WAS SCREAMING LET ME TELL YOU!

I was hoping for something like that so bad and now here we are! With how things are working out right now, I have a feeling it won't be long until Loki is back in the main MCU timeline and the ultimate force in the final battle against Kang!

I did have a suss moment when Milo said he will find a way to save the MC, because why would he need to save them from a fever?? Are they dying??? But since we don't have the option to question him for that, I just completely forgot about it until chapter 11 with the "Am I dying?" option gave me a whiplash 🤡

Like, hiding about being the gate keeper is one thing, but hiding about being the key component to MC's life threatening condition is a whole new level all together.

But then does the Night Market have their own memories? Not just seeing other people's stories but something that reserved to themself. Because it would be really sad if the entire time they're searching for something that doesn't exist. But then again you did mention the quill has it meaning so they most definitely do right? Right?

And what you said about Mal being on the MC's side right away and tried to be as transparent as possible to the Night Market in the way he couldn't be to his friends and family (and the way a certain someone couldn't be with the Night Market as well it seems 👀)? Well guess what I'm on his side instantly as well. Not to steal him away from Hazel but Mal bonding times please 🤲?

While at it, I think back to MC's talk with Basalt about how their name is translated to born through a tear and lost in memories that not their (which obviously meant they do have their own haha why would I even doubt that silly me). At first I thought it was biological kind of tears, which, sounds pretty I guess, but I understand nothing lol. But after the revelation I feel silly for not connecting it right away to the conversation with Belladonna about how the Night Market is thinning and might tear up because seriously, it only a couple pages away I'm terrible at this. But then again, that means the Night Market is already torn and I'm even more upset at Milo and his attempt to drive MC away from the truth since they're literally right there already.

And man, I'm definitely ranting but I absolutely love all the details you put in, like how Milo appeared instantly when MC had a stroke the first time but was nowhere to be found when they collapsed after meeting Baron of the Mist because Belladonna was already a Baron then so he couldn't be there even if he wanted to (or maybe he was busy doing something shady instead but imma think you're brilliant anyway ♥️)

For the memory's situation with MC. That is going to be explored more in the next book. I think that it can get philosophical really quick and there is room for interpretation. But, I kind of view everything that is going on in the Night Market, as their memories. Hence why they could see certain things that had happened to the RO's but they were not privy to their feelings. It would be like having a memory of someone at the grocery store. It's not going to be something that innately gets brought up but if the right thing can job that memory, it will be there. That's why Mal kind of took MC on a dream walk for some of that. And then you stumbled into a memory he didn't mean to (his fight with drunk Milo).

Now, that all being said, I think there are memories and moments for MC that are more "theirs" than simply viewing someone elses actions. I think those ones, however, are much more based on when they wanted to affect something. I think the NM tries to stay out of meddling but at the same time, has a big heart and can't help but meddle at times.

All of this is going to be a big topic in book 2, however and I think there will be a lot of exploration and development there.

Also, good catch on the Milo not being there when Bella became a Baron. :)

My week was okay, I was still on sick leave till wednesday and then worked on thursday, friday and saturday. I took a nap yesterday that I only woke up from this morning. My neck hurts quite a bit, I think I strained a muscle because I'm sleeping with more pillows because of my cough. And I was working on my own ss gift, which is a little scary but mostly fun!

And yes!! I’ve been soooo curious to look into Natalies head and her perspective and her thoughts about it all. Like, the guy she likes who hated her at first and then kept telling her he has a wife so nothing is ever going to happen has sex with her, the whole New Orleans thing!! Asks her to move in just before his wife is suddenly back and wants a baby with him and all this while he never really said anything about breaking things off with his wife.

top 5 worst decisions made by captain Thete Lungbarrow (aka: top 5 decisions she’s made that make Jack Harkness want to lie facedown on the floor for an hour or so) 👀🏴‍☠️

HAHA OK SO I've narrowed this down to "bad decisions Thete made that Jack knows about, in order for him to lie face down on the floor" because otherwise we will be here all day. Thete makes....So Many bad decisions. But here we go:

5 - this isn't so much a single bad decision so much as it's a decision that she makes regularly, but Thete considers "jumping off the side of the ship" to be a crucial part of any plan, it seems to Jack. More than once, he has turned around and found her stood on the side of the ship, and flinging herself off into oblivion before he can yell at anyone to grab her. It makes him age several years every time she does it out of pure stress - especially since it's resulted in multiple Not Good scenarios, including that one time she got pnemonia because she forgot that the ocean further north actually gets COLD, rather than the tropical warm waters of the archipelago that she's used to.

4 - in a similar vein...this time, she did not jump off the side, but did get knocked off the side in the middle of a storm, and ended up washed up on an island. Now, any seafarer knows that you're much better off staying on an island, where you have food and water and shelter, rather than heading out into open ocean on a raft. AND YET....WHAT DOES THETE DECIDE IT'S SENSIBLE TO DO? She's extremely lucky that when they find her, she's only dehydrated and heat-stroked rather than DEAD...but of course, Thete just laughs and say she knew they'd find her...whatever THAT means. Jack is absolutely furious at her...but also mostly relieved that they got her back

3 - one time, Thete decided that, in order to get past some enemy outposts unnoticed, it was a good idea for them to sail through Demon's Run, the most dangerous pass in the whole damn archipelago that no one would EVER go through in their right mind...IN THE MIDDLE OF A STORM. The tale goes that she did it without getting a single scratch on the hull. Jack, however, knows that is a misunderstanding that came about because their ship, The Arcadia, appeared in port the next day completely intact. The smaller boat that they ACTUALLY took through Demon's Run.....well, the less said about that, the better

2 - another type of bad decision Thete has a tendency to make is...not TELLING people things. Jack likes to make informed decisions. If he knows the plan is completely crazy going into it, at least he knows what he's getting himself in for, and what he's risking his life for to boot. So he REALLY DOESN'T APPRECIATE IT when Thete neglects to mention that the treasure they're going after is a) not just normal treasure, but CURSED and b) pretty much everyone is going after it as well, including Captain Oakdown, the Gallifreyan Navy, and the Dalek Navy. It's just the little details, y'know?

1 - and finally. On the topic of Captain Koschei Oakdown. It's well known that the man hates Thete like nothing else in the world. Seems to think she betrayed him or whatever, and it sent him completely off the rails. Jack knows this better than anyone, since the guy keelhauled him just to get back at Thete, since he knew Jack was her friend and quartermaster (or was it just to get Thete's attention.....yeah, he's not gonna examine that thought too much, thanks). So then, when Oakdown captures Thete after killing nearly her entire crew, Thete obviously manages to eventually make an escape attempt. But does she do it in a way that would make Oakdown have less reason to be out to get her? Noooo, of COURSE not. No, Thete decides it's a good idea that, rather than just throwing herself off the side of his ship and escaping, she's going to STEAL ALL HIS MONEY TOO. Because the man CLEARLY needs yet another reason to want her dead. Yep.

In other news, Jack is very tired and deserves a holiday on the other side of the archipelago
