doctor who will always be The Show to me. watching episodes i haven’t watched in years, noticing little things i didn’t notice my first time watching, laughing as i recall how much the 2000s-ass effects used to terrify me when i was younger. and i get to watch it all through a more sophisticated lens; i’m older, so i pick up on more cultural references, know how to listen for motifs in the music, and can appreciate the finer details. nothing will ever be as nostalgic and as comforting. i will always be in the mood to watch an episode or two of that shit.

#ESPECIALLY if it’s s1-s4. absolute golden era. i could talk for ages about the writing and acting and music and story and dialogue.#absolute bonkers disaster masterpiece. made me cry more times than i can count. also has kept me sane more times than i can count.#i know that from an objective viewpoint it’s not the most groundbreaking television #but i simply do not care #this is my beautiful perfect incredible show and i will never criticize it #unless you’re asking me to critique anything from s5 onward OR a chibnall episode. in that case ill tear those hoes to pieces #but otherwise? Yeah.#can’t think of a single time someone has asked me if i wanted to watch dr who and i said no #or a time ive asked myself if i wanted to watch doctor who and the answer was no #it’s always yes. i always love this show. well. parts of it.#it’s complicated. you wouldn’t understand #echoes
