Half of me wants to know what some of the Christian misconceptions are about Hinduism to try to clear them up for people trying to undo indoctrination...the other half of me looks at stuff like this and wonders if I *want* to hear what insular Christians think about Hinudism. 😂😅😓
If you're trying to unpack and heal from Christian religious trauma, a thing you really need to understand (if you don't already) is that you were probably misled about Judaism a lot. Christianity generally tries to paint itself as the self-evident successor of Judaism, and one of the ways it does this is by painting Judaism as Christianity Without Jesus.
In reality, Judaism is practiced very differently from Christianity, and Jews have a very different relationship to their Bible than Christians have to theirs. Just about everything you'll hear about Judaism from Christians is total hogwash - literally, it's Christian propaganda. Christianity as most of us know it was shaped by the Roman Empire's political agendas, and that's a huge reason why it's the way it is.

Sorry but I'm gonna bitch about this show more because for the life of me I cannot make sense of the setting. This is clearly not the usual hell described in Abrahmic religions, for some reason sinners get super powers instead of being tortured in the worst ways possible, in Hazbinverse hell is like a slightly worse version of every single big American city combined, and without the extermination what reason they have to go to heaven? Also how long exterminations were happening? Because if they were happening since the begining of hell then Lucifer was just being a little bitch for not doing anything against exorcist angels. Talking of him, Lucifer easily over powering Adam takes away a lot of the stakes because if he's that powerful then heaven seems weak in comparison, Viv made a horrible decision by making Lucifer this powerful and undermining struggles of hell because now he can just beat up any threat, he already handled the leader of exorcist demons so stakes are already at hell. I genuinely tried to enjoy this show despite all the stigma it had but holy shit it's so badly written. I'm not even gonna touch upon how certain characters who had minimal screen time treated like we got to know them for years.

Honestly speaking I really like the fact that hindu mythology isnt popular world wide like greek or maybe norse or even abrahmic because no matter how bad the stories portray a god I will never tolerate a 12 year old on the internet saying they want to beat the shit out outta them or something cause these teenagers who act religious on social media dont understand what respecting an elder or a religion or a personal belief is.

Some Hindus really like to boast about how they are not like xyz religion, how they are open minded and then go on revolt over the littlest things such as a discussion about gay marriage or a guy performing kathak in the same breath, lmao.
Honestly, while you may be super proud that the invaders never managed to swallow you in their religions, the way you all freak out over stuff related to modesty, sexuality, expression and tradition and push other hindus away because of it since they are “against your religion” (they actually aren’t); all of it just goes on to show how good of a job those invaders did on atleast changing your mindset on faith to theirs. All that is left to do is convert, because you are just an Abrahamic cloaked as a Sanatani.
For people glaoting about being different from Abrahmic religions, you sure are trying hard to match your religion to theirs with all these alien rules.
No need to mention I have nothing against Islam or Christianity, I’m not against your practices either but the fact that those rules and orthodoxy don’t belong in Hinduism is a given.

The Satanic Panic (the unwelcome 80s throw-back)
Tumblr media
Everything from the 1980s has made a come back. From LP records replacing CDs, to films like Beetlejuice and Ghostbusters. And literature like The Vampire Lestat (published in 1985) and Neil Gaiman's The Sandman (1988). And Broadway musicals based on 80s movies. Even skinny jeans for men made a come back. And late 80 Goth fashion. These are all great, fun, Nostalgic things. But... something else made a come back. The infamous Satanic Panic. If you're unfamiliar with the 80s Satanic Panic it wasn't all about thinking there were Satanists everywhere. It was sort of a blanket term for a rise in anti-semitism, anti-witchcraft, homophobia, and a weird surge in ped0pheila paranoia. When you think of the 80s Satanic Panic you think of the religious zealots burning Dungeons & Dragons tabletop role playing game manuals or thinking they hear Satanic messages in Heavy Metal albums or the extremely ignorant claiming that non-Abrahmic religions (or even Judaism) are actually worshipping Satan. I saw this make a disturbing comeback just yesterday when someone joined my The Sandman Facebook group with the rant that The Star of David is actually a Satanic symbol and has nothing to do with David. If you didn't grow up during The Satanic Panic you may have entirely missed the Ped0phelia aspect of it, which may have been worse than the claims that Satanists were / are secretly everywhere. It was a leap in logic that the Satanists are up to evil, and what is more evil than the sexual abuse and exploitation of children? So people started to imagine there were ped0philes everywhere, running daycare centres, or eccentric ex-boyfriends. Or LGBTQAI+ teenagers who came out of the closet were suddenly suspected of being a ped0 because if the person isn't straight, a very ignorant "friend" or family member might suddenly decide that the gay person is attracted to everyone of their gender, including children. The impact of the 80s Satanic Panic can still be felt. Innocent people, including Day Care Center owners, were convicted and couldn't get their verdicts over turned for decades. A bad breakup and a few whispers in her ear could lead to a mother believing the worst about her ex-husband without any evidence. There were cases of children being coached without the coachers even realizing that's what they were doing because the adults asked the children so many times in so many ways about sexual abuse that they were sure must have happened, that the kids just started saying what they thought their parents or grandparents wanted to hear. This was the era of "Stranger Danger." And it never quite stopped.
The ped0phelia paranoia is particularly strange. Do NOT take this to mean I am claiming Ped0phelia doesn't happen or isn't a real threat or that victims who come forward should be ignored. No. However, Q-anon revived this paranoia with things like "All Democrats are secretly ped0philes." "Hillary Clinton leads a Ped0phile ring." "The ped0philes in Washington and Hollywood are using the blood of children to unnaturally retain their youth. As far fetched as that sounds, people believe it. There was even that one guy who was so convinced that there was a secret dungeon under a pizza parlor that he showed up heavily armed and when he found out there was no basement he surrendered himself to police. Former rock star turned Hollywood composer, Danny Elfman, was recently accused of decades old sexual harassment but because of "catchy" headlines lots of people seemed to think he must have r8ped someone. Some people even dusted off his old Oingo Boingo song, "Little Girls" as proof of his perversion even though the song was actually intended to shame and call out Hollywood executives who would take advantage of underage girls. It wasn't the smoking gun they seemed to think it was. It was an anti-sexual abuse song. Much like how in the 1980s Pat Benatar's "Hell is for Children" (an anti-child abuse anthem) was mistaken as Satanist / pro-child abuse somehow... (Lyric comprehension / media literacy is haaaard). For over thirty-years we have lived in the comfortable myth of "Ha, people were silly in the past!" and then it started to happen again. People saw Satanists and ped0philes everywhere again in a strange spike in social paranoia, perhaps as a subconscious (and very bigoted) rebellion against the social changes happening such as more LGBTQAI+ rights and openness. You might think you're immune because you're a democrat with an open mind and statistically usually the people who fall for these things are... well... Qanon... But you are not immune. Anyone can fall for these sort of things. If you ever decided someone "looks like a pervert" because of how they dress, or you have started to humor the gossip and rumors about your "creepy neighbor"... maybe stop and remember it was "Normal" and "reasonable people" who took part in the Salem witch Hunts.
If you know someone who sees Satanism everywhere that isn't pious Christianity or a smaller non-Abrahamic religion, than know that it's not that big of a leap in logic for them to start making sexual (particularly ped0phile) accusations. I dare say this is even tied to the conservative anti-trans movement sprinkled with accusations of "grooming." This is one 80s fad I wish would die... again.

you don't understand the makers of the kerala story speared propaganda against islam and kerala and you are navie lured to hindu fanaticism
first of all, if you're denying the existence of ISIS conversions in Kerala and the larger India then, the Observer Research Foundation published, in a 2019 report, that between 60-70 individuals in Kerala joined ISIS between 2014-18. Also, the NIA has entered various times into Kerala due to suspects of ISIS interactions. ISIS has existed in India for a while now and denying it would require your eyes to be closed.
You're saying that this movie is against Islam and Kerala but from where I stand, it's a movie against ISIS. That's something I will support to the end, both as someone who's lived through the repercussions of 9/11/2001 and the fact that they are literally a salafi jihadist terrorist organization. Anyone minus a few select people who went and watched TKS today are making conclusions about the entire movie from a short teaser/trailer clip, which, many times, isn't even an accurate portrayal of a movie. People who watched the full movie in the Kerala Supreme Court themselves had refused to restrict the release of the movie on the same premise of being against ISIS, not Islam.
Obviously, the biggest argument being made right now, and one I'm 100% expecting you to bring up if you choose to come back into my asks, is the figure of 32K conversions in Kerala. I don't believe in that number. What I do believe in though, is that The Kerala Story is a mere movie. All these people arguing against this movie claim to be "secularists". News flash, any film in a secular industry is gonna be dramatized because in a secular industry people look for viewership and how to make any small story compelling be it through caricature or exaggeration. As far as I care, people can consume whatever media they want and then are responsible for researching and fact-checking on their own. Quick examples of this that I can think of are the Netflix TV show Narcos where they antagonized a supposed "judy moncada" who was completely made up, and The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien, a supposed retelling of events in the Vietnam war that he later concedes wasn't accurate apart from the emotion. Authors, writers, and any other artist for that matter take creative liberties in storytelling. I don't know how or why people are taking this so seriously. Congratulations you can do your research!
Now in terms of being a "navie" that's lured into Hindu fanaticism, what's naive about loving a culture that's been here for centuries that resulted in the construction of beautiful architecture and tells the some of the most enthralling stories? If anyone called any of the Abrahmic religions fanatical, they'd immediately be pegged as islamophobic, christianophobic, etc, why can't Hindus get the same respect? Honestly, the one common trait in any land with foreigners is the sheer lack of respect for natives and it shows, be it India, the USA, Australia, etc. I'd highly recommend you get a reality check on yourself.

i shouldnt put it all on ATR practitioners im realizing its just when i do see anyone acknowledge or recognize the hegemony of abrahamic monotheism, they do come from ATR practices, just because thats who im exposed to n talk to more. But the truth is i recognize this broadly among americans who project their resentment of their state patriarchal abrahmic religion into another. The difference with ATR practitioners is that 1) the historical presence of Islam and Africa warrants deeper, regional investigation than i see most people committed to rather than this projection. 2) our modern day context is still an islamophobic one as much as it is an anti-Black one 3) i am deeply concerned with the potential for interfaith relationships of solidarity between Muslims and other indigenous religions.

do Abrahamic followers think humans that lived for 299998 years before those religions were invented all went to hell? via /r/atheism
do Abrahamic followers think humans that lived for 299,998 years, before those religions were invented, all went to hell? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it true that abrahmic religions think that anyone not a follower of their religion gets direct ticket to hell no matter what but considering the existence of these religions are minuscule compared to the hundereds of thousands of years humans have existed. Like the concept of their respective gods did not exist before the last two millenia so what's the excuse for people before the era of AD? Israel-Palestine Conflict

Also, salam alaykum is a greeting in Arabic also means ‘Peace be upon you’. Judaism, Christianity and Islam are called Abrahmic religions – they have the same roots. Jews, Christians and Muslims persecuted one another in the name of religion, race and…

why do people of other religions get punished in islam?
In the Name of God, Most Merciful, Most Gracious...
"Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans [before Prophet Muhammad] - those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve." [2:62, (translation of interpretation of meaning of the) Quran]
This question is phrased in an inlammatory way that tells me you don't sincerely want an answer and just want to antagonize me or you have hang-ups with religion in general and want to take this out on the nearest adherant of an Abrahamic religion or you just hate Islam/Muslims, but seeing as I'm bored, I'l bite.
If there was no right path, there would be no real reason why uou couldn't follow any other path.
Why do you care if you're not even Muslm what any other religion's God says? Why do you care, if this stuff doesn't apply to you or your world view?
Muslims must treat everyone kindly and justly, unless they wage war against us, prevdnt us from practicjng our faith, drive us out from our gomes, etc. Jihad is self-defense in that respect. If peace is an option, we take it!
"Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes – from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly." [60:8, (translation of interpretation of the) Quran]
We believe life is a test, God wants to see if we love Him enough to worship Him. God sent prophets and messengers to every nation, but over the years, the original texts have been altered, lost, mixed with human interpretation, etc. Islam is the final message and, unlike the previous messages, is for all of humanity until the end of time, and the miracle of this last Prophet is an unchanging book preserved to the end of time (when it will be lifted and all good people will gently pass away, so only the worst of humanity will witness the end before resurrection.)
You can find copies of the Quran from a thousand years ago and not one letter is altered. Translations of its meaning can differ and be incomplete, each translator bringing you only part of the meaning, but the original Arabic text is memorized, understood, and recited daily by many Muslims and always has been for 1400+ years.
The people who worshipped God on their own, having received no message or in the gap between God sending messengers, will enter Heaven, like a pious man who lived in the time between Jesus and Muhammad who worshipped one God and saved baby girls from being buried by their fathers, but knew no religion.
People who simply never heard of God or any of His religions in life could be tested on the Day of Judgment and enter Heaven if they believe.
Anyone upon any of the Abrahmic faiths who never learned the message of Islam can enter Heaven.
There was a Christian man who recognized signs of prophethood in Muhammad before the message of Islam, who wanted to follow him, but passed away before the message (wnen he had just see Jibreel/Archangel Gabriel), and he also entered Heaven.
The Prophet (ﷺ) returned to Khadija while his heart was beating rapidly. She took him to Waraqa bin Naufal who was a Christian convert and used to read the Gospels in Arabic Waraqa asked (the Prophet), "What do you see?" When he told him, Waraqa said, "That is the same angel whom Allah sent to the Prophet) Moses. Should I live till you receive the Divine Message, I will support you strongly."
Another longer narration (sunnah.com has some awkward translating from Arabic though)...
'... Khadija then accompanied him to her cousin Waraqa bin Naufal bin Asad bin 'Abdul 'Uzza, who, during the pre-Islamic Period became a Christian and used to write the writing with Hebrew letters. He would write from the Gospel in Hebrew as much as Allah wished him to write. He was an old man and had lost his eyesight. Khadija said to Waraqa, "Listen to the story of your nephew, O my cousin!" Waraqa asked, "O my nephew! What have you seen?" Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) described whatever he had seen. Waraqa said, "This is the same one who keeps the secrets (angel Gabriel) whom Allah had sent to Moses. I wish I were young and could live up to the time when your people would turn you out." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) asked, "Will they drive me out?" Waraqa replied in the affirmative and said, "Anyone (man) who came with something similar to what you have brought was treated with hostility; and if I should remain alive till the day when you will be turned out then I would support you strongly." But after a few days Waraqa died and the Divine Inspiration was also paused for a while.'
Another narration concering Waraqah, talks about a ru-yah/true dream or vision the Prophet had of Waraqah wearing white garments, after his death, so he could not have been of the inhabitants of Hellfire.
I and other Muslims are not responsible for your own actions. We are not God to condemn you. I am not a scapegoat for your religious trauma either. But if you feel strongly about what my God would think of you, perhaps you should look into that on your own.

It's interesting. I will say that Prince of Egypt is kind sometimes painted as only a Jewish flick -not that that's bad, it's just that the film was made by and for all three of the Abrahmic faiths; Val Kilmer is a born-again. I personally don't think Lindsay Ellis and Steven Schwartz are antisemitic for disliking how the killing of the first borns is framed in PoE, or, if they are, that's not the reason. EVEN SO- speaking of that, there's a reason that Ellis got flaq for her comments on this film.
Gentiles like Ellis, Lily and myself treat Jewish stories like they're interchangable with their own beliefs as Christians when like...no. They're not. Literally we don't agree on who is or isn't the messiah which is why we call things 'old' and 'new' testament. And where PoE may be about the God and figures of all three Abrahmic faiths, the exodus is kind of important in Judaism and PoE is literally about the og Hebrews during the exodus. I absolutely get why this movie's important to Jewish people on a different level than it is with me. The problem is Lily is not sensitive to that audience. She doesn't think about or for the Jewish viewers watching who maybe have their own thoughts on the god of their religion. She doesn't think or care that they might take offense to another gentile calling Yahweh a "fascist psychopath" in the context of the exodus. I think Lily is doing everything within her power to piss off Christians because she's culturally Christian. In Lily's world Christianity = "evil conservitivism ALL THE TIME NO EXCEPTIONS" and, in making this claim, she's showing not only how tasteless she is but how she doesn't care how other cultures intersect.
Her target is locked and loaded. Fuck you for ever getting in her way.
So I just watched Lily’s take on Prince of Egypt.
(This is coming from an exmormon, but stay with me here)
And I'm not the only one who thought that was antisemitic right? I know it was 6 years old, and I'm really hoping she's changed her point of view (even if that's a fat chance). But you can't call someone's God an asshole just because you don't understand the God's thought process.
Now, I don't really know what Jewish people believe happens when they die, and Google had different answers with none that really connect with each other, but from what I found they believe that the soul is returned to it's divine source (not sure if that's a good thing or a meh thing, sounds kinda nice tbh)
An all-powerful God that made the earth around us and made us doesn't care about death because you return to him one way or another, death is normal. Hardship is also normal.
But don't talk about their God like he's some Hp Lovecraft monster that love to torture people because he can.

Deadly fall: Azrael
AZRAEL
Category: Abrahamic religions
Azrael is well known nowadays as the Angel of Death. His name meaning “God has helped” or “Help of God”, Azrael is seen as a benevolent psychopomp acting by God’s decree and order, carrying the souls of the dead out of the world of the living, keeping with him a scroll in which is listed the fates of all human beings (when they are born, he puts their name on his list, and when they die he removes it). However what is interesting is that Azrael while a figure found in several Abrahamic religions, it not in all of the “big three Biblical religions” – Azrael is kind of missing from Christianity. There are hints, in the “Revelation” book, of a similar entity or at least entities inspired by it – for example the last of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the Death horseman ; or an angel wielding a golden scythe who is tasked with “reaping” the Earth when it will be “ripe” and send a great “winepress” that will cause “blood” (which seems to be the death of all those that martyrized Christians?). The Revelation book is weird and bizarre and cryptic and all those characters are still a far cry from the original Azrael.
The only other vaguely Christian text actually talking about Azrael (here named Ezrael) is the Ethiopian version of the apocryphal text of the “Apocalypse of Peter”, where Ezra’el is described as an angel living in hell, and whose role is to avenge those that were wronged in life.
Azrael started out in Hebrew texts, and while he is a presence in Judaism, I couldn’t find much info about him in this religion (I even saw that some people theorized that Azrael only gained popularity and depth in Judaism after the rise of Islam – see below). All I could find is that in Judaism Azrael (or Azriel) is the Angel of Destruction and Rebirth. Some Jewish mystics, and the Zohar (one of the most important books of the Kabbalah) consider him a force of good, a benevolent angel commanding celestial legions and who takes care of the prayers of the faithful when they reach Heaven, a high-ranking angel ruling over the South ; while other currents of mysticism claim he is not an angel of death, but rather the Angel of Evil.
The most material you will find about Azrael comes from Islam, as it is the religion that truly developed his character and gave him the most importance. In the Muslim faith, Azrael (or Azra’il) is one of the four great archangels alongside Israfil (Raphael), Mikha’il (Michael) and Jibril (Gabriel) – and while his role is to take the souls of the dead in the afterlife, it is explicitly believed that he only acts by order of God, who is the one informing him when someone has to die.
It is believed that forty days before the death of a person, God will make a leaf from a heavenly tree below his throne fall down: this leaf will fall to Azrael, and on it will be written the name of the person who is about to die. Azrael is also said to lead and command an entire host of lesser angels of death: while these lesser angels of death come for regular people, Azrael only manifests to saints and prophet, who he will politely invite to follow him. As a result, he was the one who appeared in his most beautiful form to both Moses and Muhammad when it came time for them to die. He was even said sometimes to appear to saints a bit before their death, to warn them of how much time they had left to live.
While he is sometimes said to be very beautiful, Muslims texts have a wide variety of bizarre and strange descriptions of Azrael. For example, in one he appears as a blue ram with numerous eyes on his body, while others describe him as a planet-size giant with four thousand wings – some are “wings of grace” like those of typical angels, but others yet are “wings of punishment” made entirely of iron rods, hooks and scissors. Other reports also mention him carrying around a flaming whip. The idea of the hugeness and vastness of Azrael keep popping up quite regularly, from people saying he is the biggest entity of all Heaven, to those claiming the Earth would be the size of a “bean on his shoulder” or that humanity is like a “dish in front of the angel of death”. One commentary explains that all these metaphors are because God decided to “shrink” the Earth for Azrael and only him, so that he could hold it between his hands like a “vessel” and take from it what needed to be taken.
- - - - - - - - -
It is interesting to note that among religious commentaries and folklore of Islam, there is an ongoing debate as to whether Azrael is the “angel of death” as in, in charge of death itself, or if he is the angel of death as in, the embodiment of death.
One story explains that when God created Adam, he ordered the four archangels to gather dust from the earth to form the basic material of the new creature – but only Azrael could succeed in the task, and it is why God gave him the role of being in charge of life and death. Another story, very different, talks of how God one day created Death, as an entity, and He ordered the angels to look at it – upon looking at it, they lost consciousness for a thousand year, and when they woke up Death declared that of all the angels, it would only submit itself to Azrael. A third interpretation yet describes Azrael as an entity with as many faces and hands as there are living beings on Earth: each hands and face is tied to the life and fate of a soul, and when a face disappears from Azrael’s body it means its corresponding soul will experience death.
One of the most debated stories is notably the one of the ram at the end of times. It is said that when Judgement Day will come, a ram will appear, and God will place it between heaven and hell, and He will kill it himself. Upon this day, death will cease to exist, and God will announce to both the souls of heaven and hell that “Eternity” has begun and that their current sent (salvation or damnation) will now never end. While this story exists and was quite popular, people could not agree whether the ram was Death itself that had taken shape (and thus separate from Azrael, acting like a tool or assistant), or if the ram was Azrael, the angel of death, who took a mortal shape in order to be destroyed (a bit the same way as God incarnating himself into Jesus in Christianity – that’s a VERY rough comparison, just to get the idea).
EDIT: I found a bit more info about Azrael and the angel of death in Abrahamic religions.
  # In Islam the Angel of Death (Malak al-Maut, aka Azrael) and his subordinates (the lesser angels of death) act and appear differently depending on the person's actions in life. A righteous person who never did wrong will see the angel of death as a beautiful creature pulling out with ease their souls out of their bodies ; a sinful or wicked person will see their angel of death as a monstrous entity, and the pulling of their soul will be a painful process.
  # I said before that I didn't find many information about Azrael in Judaism, and for good reason! A bit more research explained it a bit better: you see, Judaism recognizes that there is an Angel of Death. But they don't know its "real" name: some say he is Azrael, others Abaddon, or Samael, some even claim he might be Michael himself. But this Angel of Death is identified in many passages of the Bible: he is the "Angel of the Lord" sent to kill 185 000 men in Assyria in The Book of Kings ; he is the "destroyer" (shâchath) sent to kill all the Egyptian firstborns during the Plagues of Egypt ; and he is the "destroying angel" in Jerusalem (mal'ak ha-mashhit) in the book of Samuel.
    # Based on that, Judaism built a unique portrayal of this unclearly-named Angel of Death: an entity covered in eyes with twelve wings that God created on the first day of the world, and who dwells in Heaven, reaching Earth in "eight flights" (while the Angel of Pestilence, set closer to Earth, reaches it in one flight).  When a human is about to die, the Angel of Death stands near their head holding a sword, with at its tip a gall drop. When the dying person sees Death, their body will be taken by convulsions, forcing them to open the mouth : as soon as they open it, the bile drop falls, and this drop causes the death and putrefaction of the body. (It where the expression "the taste of death" comes from). Other texts and scholia of Judaism depict the Angel of Death as a violent killer, with references to his sword (or knife) being used to "slaughter" humans, or to the Angel having a rope to strangle human beings. He is an active cause of death - and it is explained that the Angel of Death is actually sent as a punishment by God himself to end the life of those whose sins are too serious. It is said that the only way to appease him or push him away is to perform good deeds, or to confess one's sins - but beware, for as soon as the Angel is given the order to kill, he ceases to distinguish between "good" and "evil" and slaughters all.
  # Another Jewish tradition has the habit of depicting Talmud teachers as having a certain familiarity or close relationship with the Angel of Death. One Talmud teacher had the Angel of Death appearing before him in the street, and the teacher berated him so much the Angel agreed to take his soul at his house, not in a public place ; another story explains that a teacher negociated with the Angel thirty more days of life so as to put all of his business in order before dying. A folktale speaks of a time the Angel of Death had to wait for his "victim", as the teacher was in the middle of studying the Talmud and Death could not take him during such a holy task (it would just be rude), and  sometimes it is said that the Angel of Death will strike a form of friendship with a specific Talmud scholar, and often go into his house just to talk of religious and philosophical matters.

All abrahamic religions are naturally evil
Every abrahamic religion teaches violence and evil behaviour and every abrahmic religion was rhe source of genocide, rape, mass murder and wars for centuries. They are evil in their nature and should be removed from mankind permanently.

Athens and Sparta Adventures: Chapter 8: Book of Ships pg. 16
[previous] [contents] [next]
Quick Ref:
Heroon: A shrine dedicated to the cult worship of a hero, such as the Menelaion in Sparta dedicated to Menelaus. The concept of the ancient Greek ‘hero’ is rather different than the modern conception; a hero was a person of noble birth who lives and dies pursuing glory and not necessarily one who did ‘good’ deeds.
Zoroastrianism: One of the oldest continuously practiced religions in the world and the most popular religion in the Persian Empire at the time.
Comments:
There was no particular inspiration for the depiction of Agamemnon here because I wanted to get the composition right and depict him holding both his scepter and a spear, but the depiction of Menelaus and Helen is based off a black figure amphora by the Vatican Painter ca. 530 BCE. The story goes that after recovering Helen, Menelaus threatened to kill her for her infidelity at which she begged forgiveness.
I feel like even if Persia didn’t have a particular relationship with Troy and was far from being an empire at the time Bronze Age Troy was razed that he is taking personal interest into the contemporary use of Troy to represent Asia In General and Therefore Indirectly Referencing Him.
We also get a very small peek into Persia’s opinions, which he usually is much more private about. This may be an oversimplification of Zoroastrian beliefs on my part, but I guess I’m also recognizing that Zoroastrianism did influence the Abrahmic religions in particular ways that may carry over to our own understanding.
I also think in modern cultural reception (and I have made this mistake myself back in my first year of uni!) we tend to understand Achilles as the “hero” and Agamemnon as the tyrant, the despot, the no fair bad antagonist man, and that’s not how the Greeks would have considered them.
That all said, there’s a cultural shift that will be starting to happen on the streets of 5th century Athens that reconsiders the morality of these stories... but who’d be talking about stuff like that...
