vocaloid just isn’t a genre of music that like you can really stick an all encompassing label on and have it be even close to accurate. like literally the only thing that puts a song into the vocaloid genre is the robot voice. tbh voice banks are more like instruments than anything so its like labeling every song with piano a certain way yk

#mero’s stuff #im just preaching to the choir here but idk i like rambling. i have lots of thoughts on vocaloid its beautiful to me #but anyway i just think it’s interesting that vocaloid is its own genre of music bc its unlike most other wide genres #like when you talk about rock music or smth they have a certain sound to them that makes it a rock song and puts it in that genre #but with vocaloid theres so so so much variation that its interesting to me that its considered a genre of music #when so many songs sound literally Nothing alike #put abuse-ken and iyowa and utsu-p and mitchie m all together and they all sound like so different from each other #but they are still technically The Same Genre bc they use voice synths #they have their own individual genres they could be put into ofc but they’re like. vocaloid producers first and foremost #above whatever other genres they’re a part of they are part of the vocaloid genre. and idk i think it’s interesting #i rlly like talking about vocaloid
