Oh Niki you must read it! It's about a ghost writer named Florence who's family owns a funeral home. She's forced to leave NYC behind and confront her hometown after an unexpected death. Florence has a gift to see the undead when they have unfinished business. In her town she's reacquainted with a spirit and feelings are involved. If you loved the show Pushing Daisies youll enjoy this. Also fake Elvis. How can you say no to fake Elvis lmao. Anyway please read it I adored this book so much.
Becca, that premise sounds so interesting ajfjkagbajgbsnf I don't think I have read anything like this before? 👀
I haven't seen the show, but FAKE ELVIS, YOU SAY?
It's beung moved up my TBR as we speak. I just hope I get rid of the pharyngitis soon, because all these medicines have me too tired to do anything. 😩

There’s a line in one of my favourite books that goes “nobody knows who Ned Kelly is” and implies that a character is weird for knowing who ned kelly is and weird for thinking other people know who ned kelly is and it makes me incredibly miffed at Americans every time I read it. Like I know it’s a fictional piece of dialogue in a fictional book but like... learn about something every now and then.
#like the writer really did think she was being clever.....#but i’d hazard ned kelly is the most well known entry level piece of australian history for people outside of australia#so like instead of making your character an eccentric and oblivious possessor of great general knowledge youve just made me like him more#this isnt me beung a patriot or caring about ned kelly its just me feeling indignant

I love how Sam Wilsons writers placed him as beung from the South before TFATWS started.
Ya know... I literally had to think about this 😂 and it's so true!!! I honestly believe we just took that bit of Anthony and made it Sam's as well... I know I did lol
I literally just googled it and he was born in Harlem lol
But that's the great thing about fandom lol

Good Characters don't always make for good people and Jason Todd is no exception
Don't get me wrong Jason Todd is by far my favorite DC character but he's not a good person. This is going to kind of be a rant so strap in. (I'm not saying you can't like Jason Todd as a hero like he is in the new 52 I'm just pointing out the ways in which he by definition is a villian and not a good person) Lets start shall we.
Number One: His Treatment of Tim Drake
I know I've breifly posted about this before but Jason and Tim do not get along. During their fist meeting in Hush Jason threatens to kill Tim who is a child dare I point out whule Jason is an adult. He later breaks into the Titan Tower and beats Tim senseless. Why does Jason do this, because Tim replaced him as Robin, a title Jason could no longer hkmd becuase he was dead. None of what happens is Tim's fault yet Jason hurts him any ways.
Number Two: Battle for the Cowl
The clear antagonist of the story Jason Todd again attacks and nearly kills minors all for personal gain.
Jason does some other terrible things in Battle for the Cowl but these two are probably the worst. I really should have to say much here because I hope that most people can see what wrong with attempted murder of children.
Number Three: Batman Under the Red Hood
It's my favorite comic book story line to every be written, Judd Winick is an incredible writer. But that does not excuse the atrocities that Jason Todd commits. Though it should be mentioned that this storyline is what made me fall in love with Jason Todd's unique characterization in the firat place.
The infamous duffel bag of heads. If the decapitations of some lowly drug dealers wasn't bad enough the fact that he mentions that it took him two hours is far more concerning. Chopping someones head off doesn't take a super long time and its never explained how Jason knew were to find the location of the meeting. I'm not saying he did or didn't but it appears to be heavily implied that some other sort of torture occcured before hand.
His attack on the Joker may be the most justified out of all of these however tbe main issue lies with in the sick delight he appears to get out of it. He can't just be done with the Joker and simply kill him, no. Instead he places with his prey, tormenting them until the time is right.
Finally, I never hear this being talked about but, lets not forget the poor man the Jason sent out to die in his place. Now knowing Jason the man who acted as him was most likely not a good person but no one deserves to be sent out like a lamb to slaughter. Something that Jason Todd clearly has no issue with.
I know there are many more examples in Batman Under the Red Hood these are just the one that stood out to me the most.
Number Four: Red Hood and Penguin
Okay so this story made alot of people mad which I get and much like the Joker its a little more justified. The real issue is how he went about his revenge, with a public audience. He shot the Penguin on live televison where God know who was watching. And there were most likely familys near by when it occurred. His what for revenge is normal the way he went about it was the issue. Furthermore this whole time during DC Rebirth he was slowly making his way back to beung part of the family on the one condition that he does not kill. He was not thinking about who else he might hurt, he was only thinking about himself.
In conclusion
Jason todd is a bad person but that does nkt take way from his character. He's and entertaining and likable character a majority of the time it's just important to remember that good characters don't always equal good people. If I come across more examples I might make a part 2.

Lmfaoo look at grants insta post from january 18th promoting the flash.. the gif is w*stallen but the description? About the director and barrys abilities, trailing off and beung cryptic. Whats the bet he was told to promote the idiocy of WA but is so sick of CP that he didnt wanna even mention it
He is told to promote whatever they shackle him to, that was with AJK at the helm. Why do you think Grant spoke more freely than usual in the Fan Expo panel x regarding “we see what you guys talk about.” That’s direct shade at the writers for fucking things up for everyone. Before then he couldn’t with AJK in charge, he wasn’t really allowed to be so open, but his inference in that panel shows he is just not happy with the show, he is just a guy who shows up for work, doesn’t seem like he likes it much anymore.
And all that bullshit interaction with CP and her mini skirt, WA promo, nothing more. Trying to sell something that isn’t there. Funny how the only thing that seemed natural was his shade/honesty and him paying more attention to her poor dog.

You didn't offend anybody, you shared your thoughts and I shared my counter arguments. Nobody said anything about you being "stupid" or whatever.... I know I didn't.
If you're interested in having a discussion you should be ready to hear the other side of the conversation too and not just everyone agreeing with you, if a discussion is what you really want.
A big part of why racism is thriving in the MCU fandom (and everywhere) is because the people in the fandom never so any self reflection and just straight out refuse to admit that there is a problem and that maybe, maybe, the problem is coming from them too...So a writer who has been claiming they care about representation but don't care about Phastos will read what you wrote and think "Oh yeah, I don't write about Phastos because he's already married, or happily in a relationship not because he's Black ". Trying to find excuses like these is like serving them the perefct arguments they can re-use later and never make any kind of self reflection as to why they are interested in Phastos and admit that it's because he isn't White and neither is his husband. That's why I wanted to point out, that argument doesn't work because when the happy characters are White there is plenty of content anyway.
I have to admit that I'm not a fan of established relationships either, and like the getting together phase and I have been in other fandoms too with less popular pairings....but when I heard about Phastos being married with a kid I was thrilled. You cannot tell me that MCU fans will look at the first Canon Gay Superhero in the MCU and think "No, I'll pass because he's already happy and married".
I don't mind creating content myself or beung in small fandoms but this isn't the same ...This is huge or it should be huge (And not trying to give Marvel or Disney any credit this is coming a few decades too late and they don't deserve any credit for the absolute bare minimum). Hoewevet this is what a lot of MCU fans claim they have been wanting for years so allow me to think that Phastos being married isn't part of the problem.
You say you just wanted to share your thoughts, and that's ok, but you should also be ready for other people to share their thoughts back and point it out if your argument doesn't hold.
So there only 6 fic with phastos and his husband Ben and all six fic just have him and his husband as a background couple. I just don't get it I thought y'all wanted gay rep. This is legit the kind of relationship you headcanon a superhero husband with his normal everyday husband
