i took the pottermore quiz and it tells me i'm a ravenclaw but another quiz i took told me i was a hufflepuff. can you help me figure out what might've happened?? i know on the other test it told me ravenclaw was a close second but i need some help.

I think what a lot of people forget is that everyone has a little of all the Houses in them and unless we actually sit under the Sorting Hat, we have only imperfect measures to go by and our own feelings and beliefs about each House.

Being in Ravenclaw doesn't mean you're not loyal and being in Hufflepuff doesn't mean you're not intelligent.  As I think we've said before, a lot of how you are sorted or how you want to be sorted depends on how you view yourself and what traits you value the most. 

Also, every sorting quiz is different.  I tend to judge them based on the quality of the questions (one of my favorite fail questions is "what is your favorite color: Blue, Yellow, Red, or Green?").  Bad questions have nothing to do with traits that you value or that describe you, and it's usually easy to match them to a house (blue being my favorite color has no bearing on how much of a Ravenclaw I might be).  You also might feel differently on different days and may lean more towards one House than another.  Sometimes, I think questions can be skewed for different Houses depending on the creator.

Any or all of these could be the reason that you were sorted as a Hufflepuff and a Ravenclaw.  It's up to you then to decide which House you want to choose or which Sorting quiz you want to believe.  You know yourself best, though advice from friends and family can also be helpful.  Or, you can do what a lot of people do and call yourself a combination of the two.
