Thinking about all the holidays and lacrosse games Malory missed because she couldn’t let go of work vs. Archer finding time to take his daughter to the zoo even when he’s the target of an international man hunt.

Just thinking about Archer and AJ on this fine post finale evening.

Still STILL processing the Archer finale, but two thoughts under the cut. Maybe I'm overthinking the funny spy cartoon, but...

I loved that Archer let go of trying to find out who his father was.

I wasn't so happy about how OK he was with not seeing AJ again. They were getting along so well, right up to that moment. They both seemed so happy. And even though he knows she'll be well taken care of emotionally as well as physically with Lana, even he would be the first to admit that a ton of his own baggage stems from growing up with absentee parents. The only way I can be truly at peace with that ending is to fanwank that he's lying and plans on covertly keeping in touch with AJ behind Lana's back (at least as much as he can without putting either of them in danger).

Day in Fandom History: September 7…

What was supposed to be a mommy-daughter day with Abbiejean at the office gets sidetracked when Lana, alongside Archer, are tasked on a mission by Fabian to protect a criminal negotiator from being targeted on a Saturday of all days. “Saturday” premiered on this day, 2 Years Ago.

In the preview for the next episode, we find out Barry visited Archer 8 times while he was in the hospital. Lana, as usual since the season's start, wants to avoid talking about the hospital and any sort of attachment to Archer.

A lot of people give Lana crap for how this season has been unfolding so far, but let's just all take a step back and look at things from her point of view. Before the coma, the man she was in love with and involved in an on again/off again relationship with was thought to be dead. Thankfully he didn't die, but he was in a coma. She didn't know how long he'd be out for or if he would ever wake up. They have a daughter together and she had a life. She was a person before Sterling and a person after Sterling. She most likely grieved in private as she isn't one to openly talk about her feelings as she doesn't want to be seen as weak (most likely due to some deep seeded issues of her own). There is no doubt in my mind she loved Sterling and still loves him, but just like with everyone else, her life continued during those three years. And if Robert (although I do not like him and feel his introduction to the series is completely unnecessary) can provide some love and stability for both Lana and AJ, great.

Thank you Archer! I was ready for the classic "Adult protagonists are trying to protect a kid, then the kid uses incredibly badass abilities to save those adults when they get into trouble" situation, but instead they used it as a moment to show us how responsible, capable, and caring Pam's character is.
