Luxury Poker Nights pt. 2
Pairing: Hotch, Reid, Morgan x fem!reader Rating: Explicit, smut (18+, minors do not interact with this story) Word count: 5,806 cw: unprotected sex (do not recommend), sex-servant kink, voyeurism, multiple partners, non-vegan food options, slight degradation, free use kink Summary: It's Aaron's turn to host the poker night, and he figured it would be a great move to invite the entertainment they all fervently enjoyed last time: you. A/N: This was so highly requested I hope it lives up to expectations. Prompted by an original blurb found here Tag list: @illumi3 @ash-recs @canyonmooncreations @howabouticallyou @unlikelyqueenninja @kay-moranguinho and my always honorary mentions: @ihavemanyhusbands @cassiemartzz
Meeting Aaron Hotchner was nothing short of an absolute pleasure. Gentle, kind, considerate, funny when he finally got rid of the stoic boss facade, everything you would love in a partner whether casual or serious. All these reasons played a role in deciding to partake on a very specific contract: to serve as his servant, sexually speaking.Â
"Hey," Aaron greeted you before leaning in to press a friendly kiss to your cheek.Â
"Hey, Mr. Hotchner." you replied.Â
His head tilted and eyebrows raised with playful offense "I've told you, if you don't want to call me Aaron, at least go with Hotch."Â
Every so often he would call you in, mostly to a very beautiful house owned by a man you knew as Rossi, and you'd come for the sole purpose to act out your role. To serve and please them.Â
This time, however, he was hosting in his own apartment. It was the classic bachelor pad, the adult version, barely decorated but tidy and resourceful. You had been in there only once, but you had memorized the area pretty well. He also looked especially handsome, navy blue polo shirt and denim black pants with casual sneakers, you could notice his toned biceps in that outfit.Â
"What are my instructions for today?" you asked as you got in, taking a look around to remember the layout.Â
"The usual. Although, I might ask you to take charge of the kitchen for a little bit. Bring snacks, beverages, nothing too complicated. Oh, andâŚâ he began to say, reaching for a bag that was laying by the entrance âthis.âÂ
From it, he pulled out what seemed like a traditional maid apron. You could tell he had it tailored for your body, and that the lace around it seemed to be fine, not the cheap ones costume stores had. You reached for it and pulled it from the strings you were supposed to tie, you hovered it over your body to catch a preview of what it would look like, the man had a good eye, it sure made you feel hot.Â
âOf course, if it makes you uncomfortable, we can ditch it.â he tried to reassure you, seeing how you kept admiring the piece.Â
âItâs alright, Mr. Hotchner. But a maid outfit? I thought you preferred me in the bare.â you teased.Â
âDonât worry, we still get plenty of access to the parts of you we love the most, being that the apron is the only garment of the costume you will actually wear.â his hands slipped in his pockets, his face lighting up with a smug smile âYou can change in the bathroom, the guys should be here soon.âÂ
You made your way to the mentioned room to obey your first order of the night. Aaron waited patiently in the kitchen, putting together a couple more things so that the serving part of your job would be easier. Nonetheless, a knock on the door distracted him from his duty. He hurried to open, immediately being greeted by Morgan and Reid.Â
âHey, whereâs Dave?â he asked, noticing a missing member.Â
âHe said heâs got something to do but heâll catch usââ Morganâs eyes fixed on something behind Hotch, and his train of thought completely disappeared ââlater.âÂ
The boss turned around when he noticed Spencerâs perplexed eyes, similar to Morganâs, and he smiled to himself as he turned around to watch you already in your âuniformâ, to call it some way. The apron was comfortably secured around your waist, the length of it barely covering your front to the middle of your thighs, your back absolutely exposed, being that the fabric of the apron was only on the forepart, your upper body out in the open, with your nipples already perked from the cold air conditioning hitting them. And to them, you were the most beautiful of monuments.Â
âWhatâs your safe word?â Aaron asked, his eyes immediately scanning your body.
âCacao.â you said confidently, your head nodding in reassurance.Â
Aaron looked back at Spencer and Morgan, making sure they caught what you had said. They both shook their heads in agreement, and so he locked the door behind them âLetâs begin poker night, then.â he ordered.Â
âIâll get some drinks for you guys.â you said, and you were about to move to the kitchen when Hotchâs voice stopped you.Â
âI believe I havenât given you permission to speak.â he emitted in a commanding voice.Â
You understood his words for what they were: a warning. He had been clear enough, when you were there to work, you had to be diligent. Always keep yourself busy, available, and quiet, those were the rules you had signed up for. Your hands folded on your lap and you bowed your head slightly in response.Â
Once they were out of your sight, you headed to the kitchen. You gathered a couple of snacks that Mr. Hotchner had prepared; some peanuts, pretzels, and cut up fruit, added with three open beers. He had let a tray out for you as well, possibly with the intention of making everything easier. By the time you got to the table and began to spread the food and beverages around they had already dealt the cards.Â
You settled the empty tray on the side on a random surface, and Mr. Hotchner spread one arm in your direction indicating you that he wanted you to join his side; you did as he desired and his arm wrapped around your waist, pulling you to sit on his leg. As if ritualistic, the hand that was closer to his body was grabbed and brought to his lips, a gentle kiss landed on the back of it, and then he guided it to his member, that at some point he had already exposed. It was an instinct, you already knew what to do. Your hand began to slowly massage the barely hard shaft, and you could hear him exhale particularly hard at the sensation.Â
âRules will change for tonight. You canât bet âAll inâ unless you have at least fifteen chips, and you canât bet two rounds in a row.â Aaron began to say.Â
âIsnât 15 a bit expensive?â Spencerâs eyes narrowed with doubt.Â
âNot at all, given that an âall inâ winner also gets 10 minutes to command our servant as they please.â his hand dragged upwards, purposely taking his time to brush your skin with his fingertips, nipple included, until they landed on your chin, tilting your face to have you look in the direction of the other two men âAnd you could agree, sheâs worth the risk.âÂ
Your breath hitched in your throat at the way they hungrily stared at you, but they didnât say anything further, both Morgan and Reid simply went back to looking at their cards.Â
The game began and you hadnât been given permission to move, you had to remain on Mr. Hotchnerâs leg, caressing his member. He seemed unbothered by your steady movement, but you could feel him throb every so often, and it would fill you with cocky pride. That was another rule: you werenât allowed to go rogue, they came when they wanted to, not when you caused them to. If you acted too smart and tried to make them climax before they wanted to, you were sidelined, given the silent treatment. That was more punishment than doing anything else to you, because chances were you were going to enjoy whatever else.Â
You would steal a glance at random times to notice his tip swollen and reddened, even when he tried to keep composure, and continued to play his hands normally, you had learned the little twitches his dick made whenever he was getting close. His head turned to place a chaste kiss to your shoulder blade, giving you permission to keep going. Your hand trailed down to give his balls a gentle squeeze, which caused a loud groan to come out of his throat, and after a couple more fast strokes he began to spill his seed.Â
Mr. Hotchner had been clear that he did not like messes; his entire member was coated in his semen, and some had spilled over his pants as well. You reached for one of the pockets the apron had sown on to find a handkerchief that you recognized as his, in seconds, you were on your knees, you wiped clean the fabric of his pants, his shaft, on the other hand, didnât require the cloth, you grabbed at the base and licked a strip up, repeating the same movement until he was clean, and hard yet again.Â
âAll in.â Morganâs voice snapped everyoneâs attention, and since you hadnât been given indication to do otherwise, your mouth kept working Aaronâs dick.
âAlready? Youâve only won one round.â Spencer asked, his math not quite adding up.Â
âIâve got enough.â he clarified.Â
âYou got exactly 15, though, if you lose this, you donât get any more.â Hotch looked in his direction.
Morganâs head tilted slightly to the side, catching sight of your still bobbing head. He smiled as a response to his bossâs explanation, pushing the chips forward to the center of the table.Â
âSheâs worth the risk.â he said, a wink sent to Spencer. You couldnât help but blush at his words, even if you werenât able to stop your current activity unless indicated.Â
The other two men exchanged looks, if they didnât raise, they would still lose, perhaps that was part of Morganâs scheme, but they werenât about to just give you up by default. They pushed the corresponding chips to the pool in the center, and Reid was the first one to open his cards. Full house, nines over jacks. Hotch was in a slump, two pairs, queens and kings.Â
âFull house.â Morgan said before he opened his cards, and Spencerâs attention was specially perked âAces over sevens.â he finally said.Â
Spencer let out a soft curse under his breath as Morgan laughed in pride, he was certainly rejoicing on having made that play. You received a light tap on your shoulder that indicated you it was time to move masters, and so you stood up and directed to stand next to Derek.Â
âActually, sweetheart, I will need you in the kitchen for a bit.â he said, his hand nonetheless landing on the skin of your rear, gently squeezing it âPeanuts and pretzels are a bit hard on my stomach, do you think you could make me a quick sandwich?â he asked ever so chivalrously. Â
âAnything in particular you would like?â you asked, taking his question as permission to speak.Â
âSome ham and bacon would be excellent, thank you.â with a soft slap of your ass he sent you your merry way.Â
Kitchen duty was on the original arrangement, although you didnât quite picture yourself making sandwiches, Derekâs smile was so charming you would learn gourmet cuisine just to please him.Â
You gathered the required stuff, bread, some mayonnaise, and the ham and bacon. Being that you were topless, using a pan was out of the question, so you used the tray on the small electric oven that was next to the stove to cook the pork strips. You were too entranced by the silly way in which the meat shrunk to notice that Derek had walked into the kitchen, only becoming aware of his presence when he leaned next to you against the counter.Â
âYou make a great maid.â he pointed out, and you bolted up a little from the surprise. His hand instinctively reached for your waist, trying to keep you from falling back âEasy, you might hurt yourself.âÂ
Even when he made sure your feet were steady, he didnât remove his hand from where it was, in fact, he simply took a couple of steps closer.Â
âI enjoy servicing.â you said, eyes traveling south. You could see his cock already hanging out from his zipper, and you tried to reach for it in an attempt to caress it. His free hand, however, stopped you.Â
âI can see that. You also take initiative, thatâs impressive.â he began, his hand bringing yours up to press a kiss to it in a similar way Hotch used to do, but instead of allowing it to stroke his member, he directed it to the kitchen utensils you had laid out âBut I believe for things to be done right they have to be done with the utmost concentration, so why donât we focus on that sandwich, huh?âÂ
You pouted a little and he let out a light chuckle at your disappointment. You went back to the task at hand, getting a dull butter knife to begin spreading the mayonnaise around the slice. You felt the warmth of his touch leave your waist, and you were about to complain yet again until you felt one of his fingers sneak between your legs and trail up your slit.Â
You shuddered and your legs instinctively closed. He tskâed his tongue in disapproval, and you understood to return them to their original position. Derek wasted no time, the two fingers in the middle of his hand slipping into your cunt. He was fixated on your face, absorbing every expression as you melted due to his digits, your hands gripping on the surface, leaving the sandwich unattended.Â
âI havenât told you to stop working, have I?â he whispered commandingly.Â
His fingers began to curl upwards inside of you as they continued to move inside and out, getting coated with your juices. You tried your best to keep yourself still, your hand shakily reaching for the rest of the ingredients. He didnât stop his movements even when you dropped the knife on the counter from the way he hit the back of your cunt.
âCareful.â he warned at the clinking sound, you peeked over your shoulder while you grabbed the utensil and out of the corner of your eye you could notice his hand moving over his now hardened cock âCome on, beautiful, keep going.âÂ
You shook your head a little in an attempt to clear it, even when his relentless fingers werenât giving you the opportunity. You finally managed to pay attention and began to assemble the deli meats. You barely noticed when he moved behind you until you felt his tip rub against your entrance.Â
His hands ran over your front as he pushed inside of you, slowly, and they landed on your breasts. A pleasure mewl slipped past your mouth, but you cut it short.Â
âCome on, now, Iâm not Hotch.â he complained while he gave you the chance to adjust to his member âYou donât gotta have my permission to talk, let that voice out.âÂ
His hips snapped rather roughly against yours, a loud slapping sound echoing around the kitchen; it caused a loud moan from you, one that you were sure could be heard from the other room. âThatâs a good girl.â he praised.Â
His initial rhythm wasnât slow, after all he was in a hurry. It made assembling the sandwich all much more difficult, you struggled to open the door of the electric oven, almost getting burned thanks to the way his cock so deeply pushed inside you, all while your throat was unable to keep quiet, intermittent noises unsteady from his thrusts.Â
One of his hands slipped down and in between your legs, the tip of his middle finger rubbed at your clit with a gentle speed, almost unmatching to his hips. You sensed him look over your shoulder to check up on the status of his food, and your hand trembled as you set the bacon down to finish it up. He laughed with pleasure, and his fingers dipped on the skin around your hips.Â
âCan you take it, baby?â you could feel his thick member erratically twitching inside of you as he asked, and you nodded your head fervently âOf course you can.â he reassured.Â
He snapped a couple more times, rough enough to make you lose your balance and press up against the counter, before you heard him grunt and felt your cunt being filled with his spill. The sensation of his cock pushing your walls sent you over the edge, and you began to drip with your release, a loud moan accompanying the blissful sensation. He pulled out with ease, not waiting for you to come out of your high, and stepped away to grab the meal you had prepared.Â
âThank you, beautiful, looks delicious.â he winked at you with his signature charming smile before he began walking out of the kitchen âOh, and pretty boy said he wanted some iced tea, be a doll and bring it after youâre done cleaning up, thanks.âÂ
Without further word, he vanished from your sight. You had to take a second to catch your breath, desperate for a bit more friction. You considered touching yourself, but if Mr. Hotchner were to catch you, you wouldnât be able to come again all night, he would make sure of it.Â
You could feel Derekâs cum beginning to drip, but the cleanliness of the kitchen was a priority. You abided by the task that you had been handed, after a couple of minutes of cleaning up, since you hadnât made a big mess, you prepared the beverage for Dr. Reid and headed back to the area. You settled the glass of iced tea next to the man that had requested it.Â
âAll in.â as soon as you stood next to him, you heard the youngest of the group exclaim, he then muttered a casual âthank youâ at the gesture of having his drink brought over.Â
Hotch and Morgan exchanged playful glances. They knew he was rushing, his decision possibly prompted by the fact that your breasts were so close to his face; they noticed the bobbing of his adamâs apple, and Aaron had paid attention to how he palmed his bulge while he heard you get taken in the kitchen. Logic just flew out of the window when you were around, and his coworkers adored seeing that side of him.Â
âYou got me.â Morgan said as he folded his cards, and Reid cockily took a sip off his drink. Â
âIâll play.â Hotch mentioned before adding his chips to the pool.Â
âTwo pairs. Kings and Queens.â Spencer opened his hand.Â
On his part, Hotch could simply scoff while he threw his cards on the table. âJacks and Queens.â he said with pretend defeat.Â
The blond man boasted with his expression in pure pride. He didnât use to be the kind to order you around, unlike the other two who had gotten very comfortable, and preferred you took the initiative during game sessions.Â
This time, nonetheless, he looked quite eager to take control. Once he noticed you looking at him expectantly, waiting patiently for your command. He narrowed his eyes, ever inexperienced, trying to come up with something, or rather trying to find the right way to ask.Â
âCould youâŚâ he stopped to try and analyze his next words âCould you bend over?â he motioned towards the table.Â
It took your entire strength to not laugh, you werenât making fun of him, he was just ridiculously adorable, and it made hard contrast with the whole situation in the first place and his actual sexual interests. You obeyed, not wanting to make him self-conscious, moving Derekâs plate out of the way elegantly before resting your entire body face-down against the piece of furniture.Â
You let out a quiet whimper from the contrast in temperature; your ass was left up and exposed in his direction. He finally stood up, and you looked back to peek at what he was up to, his hips had lined up with yours, his member was still clothed, but that didnât stop him from grabbing at your asscheeks and pressing his bulge against your dripping cunt.Â
âWhy donât we change the game?â his eyes were glued on your skin wrinkling up with every push, but he kept talking to his coworkers âHow about blackjack? Hotch can play houseâ he proposed.Â
âReid, itâs literally illegal for you to play blackjack in two states.â Hotch pointed out.Â
âThatâs true. You have an unfair advantage.â Morgan added.Â
âCard counting can only be done with extreme concentration and observation of the cards being dealt.â his eyes didnât leave your body, his palm gently massaging your skin as he kept rubbing himself on you âAnd I happen to be too busy to pay enough attention.âÂ
âAlright, but blackjack is a fast game. The player needs to win at least three rounds to claim their prize. Draws donât count towards the winning number.â Aaron clarified.
The rest of the players nodded in agreement. Mr. Hotchner was the dealer, since he was playing the role of âthe houseâ, and he began assigning the first round of cards. Before he got to Reid, though, he noticed there was no space on the table, your body occupying most of it, and so he resolved he would just put it over your naked back.Â
You gulped in surprise and your body seemed to get hotter, you surely werenât expected to be used this way; your nipples brushed against the surface of the table, and Reid noticed how you pushed back against him slightly.Â
The doctor pulled away, satisfied for the time being with the friction that he had gotten, and realized there were a couple of white-ish stains.Â
âCome on, Morgan!â he exclaimed once he noticed it was semen âCanât you clean up after yourself?âÂ
Derek could only break into a laugh, and you noticed a small smirk on Aaronâs face as well.Â
âSorry, kid.â he simply said, waiting for Hotch to open his second card.Â
Reid made an unamused expression and crouched down to observe the situation. You still had some drip down your thigh, and your slit still had some traces of Morganâs release.Â
âIâll help you out, but I need you to do something for me.â he said, palming at your ass to let you know he was talking to you; you hummed, replying that you were listening intently âI wonât be able to use my mouth, so if I suck, it means hit, if I insert, it means stayâÂ
You furrowed your brows with confusion, but he didnât give you much time to understand. You felt his tongue trail up your inner thigh, taking the liquid that had spilled over it with it, and shortly the muscle pressed against your slit, taking a lap at your entire sex.
Your hands gripped at the side edges of the square table, on your right side Derek Morgan was looking intently at his cards, on your left Aaron Hotchner was paying close attention to the youngestâs movements. He snapped back to the game once your pleased noises started flowing, his hand darting out to land on top of yours and rub at the back of it slightly. Aaron dealt the second round of cards and Reidâs landed on your back once again.Â
â14.â the older man said.Â
A little distracted by the way his tongue teased your labia, you didnât pay attention to the words the dealer had said until you felt Spencerâs lips wrap around your clit and intensely suck the air in. The sensation, which was foreign, made your legs go weak; the man pressed his face against your rear to keep you up, and it only made the interaction so much hotter.Â
âHit me!â you exclaimed in between moans.Â
â8. Adds to 22.â Hotch said calmly.Â
Reid grumbled against your cunt, his tongue going back to your entrance instead, superficially licking, taking his time to taste everything around it.Â
Morgan was busted as well, which meant the house took the round. Spencer kept a steady and slow pace; you felt the cards being removed from your back and, almost immediately, a new one was added.Â
â20.â Hotch said again.Â
The youngsterâs hands had been placed against the outer sides of your thighs in the meantime, however once he heard the number they traveled up. He pulled away and you slightly whined at the lack of contact, his thumbs spread the outer part of your pussy open and his tongue immediately slipped inside your entrance.Â
âStay.â you struggled to let out, only coming out as a shaky breath.Â
Hotch opened a couple more cards, Derek was busted again, so there was a chance for Reidâs win.Â
â21 for the house, house wins.â Aaron exclaimed.Â
Your head defeatedly laid against the wooden table, the man buried in your rear could feel your walls clenching and your hips slightly moving to grind against yours. Your shaky breaths didnât only alert him that your second orgasm of the night was coming, the other two men could also tell.Â
âReid, your time with her is almost up.â Aaron pointed out after taking a look at his watch.Â
Spencer pulled away once again, to your discomfort, and narrowed his eyes pretending to think.
âIâll tell you what, win this round and Iâll let you orgasm.â Reid proposed to you.Â
You trembled a little with anticipation, feeling your orgasm edging on. Instead of allowing his tongue back on you, he simply pressed open-mouthed kisses to your labia, making sure he wouldnât touch any sensitive areas.Â
Aaron dealt another round of cards over your back, not even paying attention to your begging face.Â
â16.â he notified you since your eyes were tightly shut with irritation from being so close yet unable to release.Â
âHit me.â you commanded, still feeling Reidâs wet lips kissing your sides.Â
â3. Adds to 19.â He clarified as he threw another card against your back.Â
âHit me.â you said once again.
Aaron and Spencer exchanged looks, it was a very risky move, statistically heavily improbable.
Hotch opened the new card against your back, and he let out a pleased chuckle. â2. Adds to twenty one.âÂ
Reid laughed with incredulity, but he was a man of his word. His lips clasped your sensitive nub once again, and he sucked the air in as his tongue moved rapidly from side to side. A high-pitched moan at his movements, and you couldnât help but to release your juices over his face. You could hear an erotic slurping sound from the back, he was abiding by his promise of keeping you clean.Â
âWell played!â he beamed at you and cleared the cards from your back âThat was a very unlikely pull, Iâm surprised you made it.âÂ
âCertainly.â Hotch reassured as he dealt the next round of cards.
Reid had sat back down on his chair, and as the pieces of carton landed on you, you decided to stay put on the table. Spencerâs eyes would travel from his cards to your ass from time to time, almost as if he was pondering his next move after he won.Â
However, he wouldnât be as lucky, and neither would Derek, since the next round was won by the house, which meant Hotch was back in control. You were about to stand back up and his hand laid on your bare back, stopping your movement,
âActually, honey, why donât you remain there for a little bit more?â he commanded and you obediently remained âReid, move.â he said standing up.
The younger furrowed his brows with unintentional defiance âBut this is my seatâŚâ he quietly complained.Â
âYou can have your seat back once Iâm done with her.â Hotch said, his tone was as imposing, but you could tell he was a little more gentle. You didnât know the exact nature of their relationship, but you had figured Spencer was a soft spot for him.Â
He finally obeyed and stood up and away from the chair, leaving enough space for Hotch to stand behind you. You could immediately feel the tip of his member prodding at your entrance, after what Reid had done to you, you certainly didnât need any more preparation. You were overstimulated as it was, but his cock was always welcome, and he could tell by the way you were clenching around nothing simply by having him so close.Â
He smirked to himself at the feeling and immediately allowed himself inside of you. You grunted with pleasure as you felt him enter, your fingers, tired from gripping on the sides of the table, beginning to curl around in the air.Â
âHere, you can grab onto this.â the ever so chivalrous Derek Morgan reached out to intertwine his fingers with yours, giving you a soft area for you to squeeze trying to not lose control.Â
Mr. Hotchner wasnât going to pretend being gentle, his thrusts picking up speed as soon as you had gotten used to his size. He moved his shirt slightly aside, enjoying every second of watching himself disappear between your contracting walls. He let out a soft groan in pleasure, and you could tell he was beginning to lose himself in you. His hand gripped at your buttock, squeezing roughly to help him move your hips back and forth.Â
The other two participants didnât seem to move a finger, they could only stare, with pleased expressions on their face, at the way tears began to prickle on the corner of your eyes. Reid reached to land a hand on top of your head soothingly, and his kindness was always appreciated.Â
Your obnoxious sounds were a delight to the three of them, therefore they dreaded the tune of a ringing phone interrupting the melody they adored. Hotch reached for the gadget within his pocket, furrowing his brows at the caller ID.Â
âYeah, JJ?â he said and made a âshushingâ sign to Spencer and Derek.Â
Reid gently moved his hand from your head to your mouth, initially he was simply going to cover it with his palm, but an impulsive thought beat him to it: his index and middle finger slipped inside your mouth and pressed against your tongue.Â
âSuck.â he ordered in a whisper âIt will help you keep quiet.âÂ
You obeyed the doctorâs order, however, focusing on coating his digits in your saliva; your sounds were kept muffled in your throat, but they escaped your lips from time to time, since Aaron was not giving you a second of rest.Â
âCanât it wait? I see. Itâs fine, Reid and Morgan are with me, call Dave, weâll meet you there in 15.â Hotch continued instructing. He was doing his best to appear unbothered, and he was purposely hitting deeper each time, almost making it a challenge for you to keep your sounds down.Â
âA case?â Morgan inquired as soon as his superior got off the phone.Â
âAnd urgent.â he put the device away once again and leaned slightly over you. His fingers glued themselves to your clit, circling it slowly, he was trying to, most likely, rush your orgasm. The pleasure it brought to you was a little painful, being that it had been the part of your body that had received the most attention during the night. You whined at the sensation, and Reid had to slide his fingers further back to keep you from screaming.Â
âYou know, Hotch, thereâs a question that Iâve been meaning to ask for a while.â Spencer suddenly emitted, and Aaron looked curiously in his direction, prompting him to inquire âAre you really paying her?âÂ
The question caused Hotch to chuckle slightly âNo, itâs more like an arrangement.â he confessed, still focused on pounding your cunt.Â
âThen what does she get out of it?â his eyes narrowed as he observed you, fucked out of your mind, swallow your cheeks around his fingers.Â
âShe gets to come,â he clarified âas many times as she can take.âÂ
As he spoke, his hand raised to land a loud, yet not utterly strong, slap on your ass; he did that sometimes when he allowed you to release. His hips snapped one final time, pressing all the way in to spill his cum inside of you. Your third orgasm of the night was divine, your teeth slightly gritting against Reidâs skin.Â
You laid there, absolutely exhausted, for a couple of minutes as they gathered their things and fixed up their clothes. Once you had recovered your energy enough to stand up, you felt your knees betraying you almost immediately. Morgan bolted from his nearby spot to offer his body as support, his arm surrounding your middle.Â
âYou alright?â he asked with concern and you nodded.Â
âHere.â Spencer came closer with a wet wipe that he handed to you.Â
âIâm sorry we canât see you off, but this is urgent.â Hotch came out of a random room with a briefcase on his hand and his pristine suit already on âRest as much as you want and help yourself to anything in the kitchen, just make sure to lock the door when you leave.âÂ
Without saying any further he leaned closer to you and pressed a gentle kiss to your lips. He muttered a âletâs goâ directed to his subordinates and almost dashed outside the apartment. Morgan simply took a quick peck at the side of your head and told you to âtake careâ. Spencer stood there awkwardly for a second; you could see in his eyes that he was trying to do something, anything, but he couldnât find the right gesture. Unable to take it much longer, you curled your hand into a fist and offered it in his direction. He bumped it with a fist of his own, and both of you laughed with a bit of embarrassment.
âListen,â you said before he could move away, slightly entranced by his hazel eyes âthe arrangement I have with Mr. HotchnerâŚâ you diverted your gaze, suddenly slightly embarrassed â...itâs not exclusive.â you finally said.Â
Spencerâs eyes opened and eyebrows raised in surprise, were you insinuating what he thought you were? His mouth opened and closed in search for an answer, but he struggled to make sense of anything, too scared to diffuse the interest you had shown in him.Â
âYou donât have to agree right now,â you reached behind you, to the side table that had the landline phone on it, to grab a pad and a pen and immediately wrote down your number âif you want to explore a contract of your own, give me a call.â you said with a smile handing the paper over to him.Â
âI will!â he said with almost too much excitement.Â
âReid!â Morgan yelled from the corridor.Â
Spencer let out a quick curse and wrinkled his face with frustration âIâll call you.â he said before he left in a rush.Â
You giggled a little with teenage-like excitement, a feeling that you hadnât experienced since you first started your dynamic with Mr. Hotchner. New guy, new conditions, new games. Perhaps poker is not the only way to have fun.Â

Pairing: [established relationship] Emily x Non-BAU!reader. The Reader uses she/her pronounsÂ
Category: fluff/comfort
Word Count: 6.8K
Content Warnings: Slight angst, talk of getting pregnant, food and alcohol are mentioned, implied intimacy, discussion of politics. If I missed any, please let me know. Â
A/N: Hi all! Iâm so sorry itâs been a while since Iâve posted any fics in a while. The end of the semester has been wildly busy. However, I return with an Emily fic for @imagining-in-the-margins March and April writing challenge. I made my own prompt that is, a member of the couple isnât sure theyâll make a good parent; they are reassured by a friend that they will be perfect. This is a continuation of my Moschino and Muddy Water series. You can find parts one, two, three, and four here (linked) You can read this as a stand-alone as well, you just need to know the reader works for a senator. This story kind of humbled me and challenged me as it took a long time to write and I needed to do lots of edits on it. But that is a good reminder for me. Writing can be hard, but it is worth the result to see you can come what you can come up with. If you enjoy this fic, likes, comments, and reblogs are appreciated! Love Levi - â¤ď¸
List with all storiesÂ
y/n = your nameÂ
y/s/t = your skin toneÂ
_y/f/s_ = your favorite scent
Emily walked into the living room of her apartment. y/n and she had recently repainted it a neutral beige that Derek had described as âsad sandâ at brunch with Penelope, Spencer, JJ, and Will last month. y/n had nearly choked on her drink as he made the remark. It had been y/nâs idea to repaint their space to a more relaxing color. When y/n had suggested it, Emily had said, âOh, what brought this on lover? Wasnât it you last week who mentioned the security deposit on this place?â Em liked teasing y/n about these things because y/n was always a little more impulsive about things. Their dynamic remained light despite the hectic nature of their jobs. The ability to relax and joke in their off time kept both y/n and Prentiss sane. However, they were good at reading each other, most of the time. When things felt heavy or the job was pushing them to the edge of a breakdown, the jokes and teasing went out the window.Â
Only once had y/n made a joke in poor taste about a case that Emily had not yet fully described, and the tall brunette had snapped. y/n had looked at her girlfriend with shock. Prentiss never spoke to her in this tone nor with the angry expression she had on her face. The silence in the room after Emily's outburst was deafening. Emily instantly felt guilty for how she had reacted. Prentiss cleared her throat and tried to apologize, but y/n said, âSave it. I need a minute.â y/n had moved back to their room and closed the door, and burst into tears. âA minuteâ turned out to be a long sleepless night for the couple. y/n tossed and turned and wondered if she was overreacting and what she had missed about Emily when she came in with her go-bag. She had seemed fine to y/n as she came in with a smile and normal attitude. Meanwhile on the couch, Emily wondered why she had reacted with such venom. y/n was only trying to lighten the mood, and she hadnât said how horrible she felt. If she had, Emily knew y/n would hug her and kiss her and make her feel better inside of cracking a joke. Prentiss sat up and looked out the open window onto to the street as a few cars drove by. Emily wondered what brought those driving out so late. Who were they and where they were going? She wondered if they were happy. She slumped back into the couch cushions and missed the warmth of y/nâs snuggled up in front of her and the cool feel of their sheets over them.Â
In the morning, both Em and y/n had gotten up at the same time. Prentiss moved into their room which she found unlocked. y/n looked up at her. Em could see that she had been crying and the lack of sleep on y/nâs face. Before Prentiss could say anything, y/n stated, âIâm sorry, Emily. Iâm sorry for how I acted. Immature and like a child. You didnât deserve that.â Emily dropped her head and replied, âIâm sorry too. It was wrong of me to shout at you like that. You were just trying to make me happy.â y/n swallowed and said, âI was, but I must have been missing something. Would you tell me about the case, or what caused you to act like that?âÂ
Prentiss nodded and sat down on the edge of the bed taking y/nâs hand in hers. âYes. Let me explain. Thank you for giving me the time and care to listen.â After a long conversation, the pair set up some boundaries about not keeping things inside after cases for Emily and taking time to check in after she got home for y/n. y/n knew Emily had been acting okay, but in reality, she wasn't. y/n noted that if she was in Emilyâs shoes, she might want to laugh after work and a case and y/n thought Emily might feel the same way. So after they had talked and kissed and made up, they both felt a bit crusty and decided to take a shower together.Â
It felt wonderful as Emilyâs strong hands moved down her y/s/tâed shoulders and back. The soap suds moved down y/nâs back and Prentiss rubbed them over her lush behind and thighs. y/n sighed into the touch. When Emily had finished rinsing y/n off, y/n turned and had Em face the water. y/n placed a dollop of her shampoo that smelled of rose and juniper berry in her palm. Prentiss smiled as y/nâs fingers brushed through her silky dark strands of hair massaging her scalp and then making sure that all of her locks were coated in shampoo before turning Em to rinse off her shoulder-length hair. After a few more minutes the water started running tepid, and y/n and Emily got out and dried off. They spent the rest of the Saturday morning lounging around and getting coffee from the fancy place two blocks over. It felt lovely to be back and not have an argument hanging over them. As y/n opened the door for Prentiss, she thought about how they worked together. They had their moments and arguments like any couple, but all in all, they were steady. It seemed that steady was something new to both of them, and it made them happy and secure in one another. It had made y/n so happy and secure that it had got her thinking about roots, about the future.Â
A few weeks later, y/n woke up early and realized that Emily was up. She snapped her laptop shut. The sound had Em turn around and look at y/n with just a hint of concern in her dark eyes. y/n smiled and got out of her seat saying, âGood morning, baby. How did you sleep?â Emilyâs face broke into a soft smile and she replied, âI slept well. I love it when youâre the big spoon. It makes me sleep like a baby.â y/n got up and wrapped Em in a hug and whispered in her ear, âWell, Iâll have to do that more often then.â y/n inhaled her smell and tried to hide the blush on her face before pulling back and saying, âDo you want some breakfast and coffee? Or maybe a mimosa. I feel like cooking something if you want.â Prentiss nodded and said, âI think I could go for some blueberry or chocolate chip waffles if youâre down to make them.â y/n nodded and replied, âOf course. What are we feeling for drinks?â Em let out a small laugh and said, âWell, how about I make us lattes and you pop open some prosecco? Weâve still got juice in the fridge too. Iâll get the glasses.â y/n nodded knowing that Emily didnât like popping corks --Â a quirk that y/n thought was so cute. Em turned away to get the fluted glasses for the mimosas and while her back was turned she considered how y/n had been acting the last few days. It was like she was holding some secret. When y/nâs computer was in front of her, y/n always seemed to close it quickly or move it so she couldnât see the screen. It wasnât only that. Sometimes she was on the phone and talking quietly to someone she didnât know. The pit in Emilyâs stomach grew. And yet when she looked back at y/n who was humming her new favorite song while pulling eggs out from the middle row of the fridge.Â
This was so unlike y/n to hide things from her. When it had first happened, Emily thought that maybe y/n was cheating but that wasnât something that y/n would do unless she had really misread her girlfriend and their relationship wasnât going anywhere. This bothered Prentiss because she was planning on asking y/n to marry her in a month on their second anniversary. Even if things werenât good with them, which y/nâs behavior indicated otherwise, Prentiss was uncomfortable with y/n hiding things from her. Em had a good way of feeling out people, and y/n had seemed more excited to be with her recently, so all of the messages both verbal and nonverbal were throwing her for a loop. Prentiss was going to talk to JJ and Penelope about it on Monday to see if they had any insight into what was going on. At this point, y/n and the rest of the girls on the BAU were thick as blood. Em took a breath and decided to not let her self-doubt ruin their relationship. She had let that happen before, and even though it had turned out to be a good thing, Emily didnât want to do that here. She loved y/n, and she knew y/n loved her. If y/n needed to tell her something, Emily knew she would, even if it was something difficult to hear. Prentiss fixed her face and took a breath before setting the glasses on the counter for y/n who leaned in and gave her a kiss before she moved to the coffee maker.Â
y/n started mixing up the waffle batter. y/n didnât like keeping things from Emily, but this was such a big subject to even bring up, and she wanted to have all of the facts beforehand. Not so that she could try and argue her point with Emily, but so she was sure it was what she wanted. But the more y/n looked at their options of getting pregnant, the firmer y/n was about her desire to start a family with Em. It was a conversation they had had before. A shared desire to have kids and raise them in a house full of love and tenderness that neither y/n nor Emily had had as children growing up on opposite sides of the globe. So the topic of wanting kids wouldnât be a shock, just how quickly y/n was bringing it up. And if Emily said she needed more time, y/n would wait, but she couldnât deny that her baby fever was growing thanks to JJâs pregnancy and some recent laws passing. The whole idea made y/nâs stomach flutter in both delight and worry. Thankfully y/n was almost ready to tell Em, and again there would be no secrets to hold, just a future to plan, whatever that looked like for them.Â
The following Monday at work, Emily found Penelope in her office with its room full of screens and trinkets. Prentiss smiled at how Garciaâs personality shone through wherever she was. Em found the tech whizz inspirational in that way and many others. Garcia was busy typing something on her laptop and Emily had called her name twice already. Without any other options apart from pulling the plug on one of Penelope's babies, Emily tapped her on the shoulder instead. The genius shot out of her seat and Prentiss was eternally grateful that Gacria wasnât holding one of her large cups of soda. âMy God Emily, are you trying to get me out of my skin?â Penelope retorted when she had caught her breath. Em smiled and said, âIt was that, or pull the plug on your computer. I thought youâd appreciate the latter. I did call your name twice.â Garcia let out a shaky laugh and said, âOkay, well lord, I have to stop listening to music so loud when Iâm at work. Hotch got mad at me for it once already and somehow heâs always right because I donât want to be scared like that again. So what brings you to my cave today dear? Need me to cast a love spell on you?â Prentiss laughed and replied, âWell Iâm okay on that front. A clarification spell might be more in order. Are you back on the RPG game again?â Garcia blushed and said, âMaybe, maybe not. Anyhow, does the team need my presence?â Em nodded her head no, sat down on the ledge of Penelope's table, and said, âNot right now. I was just wondering if y/n had talked to you recently. Sheâs been acting kind of strange in the last three weeks and I just wanted to know if she has something planned?âÂ
Penelope was buzzing in her seat because she had an answer but had promised y/n that she wouldnât say anything to Emily about it. y/n had discreetly asked around the office if anyone knew someone who had IVF treatments before and would be willing to talk candidly about the process, how much it cost, and the pros and cons of the procedure. The only other person who did know someone who had gone through In Vitro Fertilization was Rossi, but Dave didnât think that person would want to discuss such an intimate part of their lives with a stranger, even if it was a friend of his. However, Penelope had a good friend named Shayla back from her college days who was now a happy single mom and had moved to the Virginia area last year for a new job with her little boy. y/n had met Shayla once before, and when Garcia brought her up as a possibility, y/n almost begged her to ask Shayla if she was comfortable talking about the long process. When Pen brought it up in their next catch-up call, Shayla happily agreed to share her knowledge. She had done plenty of research before deciding to move forward with having a child on her own, understood the great sacrifice and fears that could come with it, and was happy to give any helpful information she had. Of course, this conversation had prompted Penelope to ask y/n why she was asking and y/n had revealed that she was thinking of asking Emily to have a baby with her. Garcia had freaked out, jumping up and down in excitement. y/n had to stop her from running out of the room and shouting at anyone that her friend was getting pregnant. Once the blonde analyst had settled down, y/n took a breath and said, âNow Penelope. I know youâre excited but Iâm just in the research stage which sounds calculated when I put it like that, I havenât told Emily about this yet and I need to be sure I feel confident before I spring this on her. Could you please please, please not tell her?â Garcia nodded seriously and said, âMy lips are sealed. I pinky promise.â y/n let out a sigh of relief.Â
But as Garcia was faced with Emily now, it wasnât as easy as telling y/n her secret was safe. It was threatening to burst out of her seams and she needed to come up with an excuse fast or risk losing a dear friend in y/n. Penelope cleared her throat and said, âHey, Em. I kinda stayed up all night playing that game and well as you can see Iâm running numbers for Stanâs teamâŚ.â She gave her best pleading eyes that seemed to work on everyone. Prentiss let out a soft laugh and replied, âAlright, What flavor do you want grape, Cola, or orange?â Pen smiled brightly and said, âOrange, please. You are a lifesaver!â Emily patted her on the top of her blond head and said, âWell just hope Hotch or JJ doesnât call a new case while Iâm gone. You should get someone to install controls or something on your system at home to stop you from staying up twenty-four-seven.â Garica scoffed, looked at Emilyâs retreating form, and said, âBaby, if anyone could crack into my harddrive, Iâd let them.â As Emily moved out of the office and toward the 7-11 to get Penelopeâs soda, she felt relieved. Not that she fully believed nothing was happening with y/n, but if the team hadnât noticed anything, then, it made her feel better. Once Emily was out of sight, Penelope whipped out her phone and texted y/n: âEmily is asking questions, baby girl. Iâd start thinking about asking her soon or she might find out what youâre doing.âÂ
The week moved by quickly with lots of paperwork for Emily and the start of a new campaign cycle for y/n who moaned about it as much as possible without being annoying to Em. It didnât help that the senator y/n worked with had gotten themselves into another scandal that was rocking their office and party. When y/n was going on a rant about corruption on Friday night Emily hugged her from behind, kissed her temple, and said, âIâm sorry sweetheart. I know itâs annoying, but you're good at your job even if itâs a bad system. But that doesnât make you bad.â y/n relaxed into Prentissâs embrace. y/n let out a sigh and said, âIâm sorry for going off. I know itâs annoying.â Emily nuzzled her face into y/nâs neck to relax her further as she whispered, âDonât apologize y/n. Work can be agonizing sometimes, I know that as much as anyone. If it bothers me I'll tell you. Now, how about we do something fun tomorrow? We could get brunch at that place we like in midtown. You know the place where you asked me out officially?â y/nâs face broke out into a smile and she said, âIâd love that Em. Sorry if Iâve been a little distant right now. Iâve been thinking about some things and I want to share them with you in the morning. Itâs nothing bad or anything, but something I just want to discuss with you. Youâre everything to me love, and Iâm so happy weâre together.â Prentissâs heart fluttered knowing that y/n was finally going to tell her what was going on. Her words were reassuring, that it âwasn'tâ badâ or âanything bad about her,â but even so, her nerves sang inside as they both headed to bed.Â
In the morning, y/n woke up slightly early for a Saturday and got into a hot shower. She washed her body in _y/f/s_ed body wash. She then moved to her hair and shampooed and conditioned it. Lastly y/n shaved so her legs were smooth. When she stepped out of the shower, Emily was up. y/n walked into their room in a towel, and Em looked up from the bed, Her brown eyes got wider and she said, âWell, good morning, love?â y/n smiled and said, âMorning sweetheart.â y/n dropped her towel, and lazily crawled on the bed. Emily followed her with her eyes and her tongue slipped out of her mouth and wetted her lower lip subconsciously. y/n grinned and moved over Emilyâs body and kissed her gently at first and then with more passion. Em snaked her hands around y/nâs hips. Once y/nâs tongue was slipped into Emilyâs mouth, her fingers moved to y/nâs hair and tugged it gently at the root. After y/n and Prentiss were desperate for air, y/n pulled away and moved onto her knees before saying, âMaybe we should get dressed or weâll miss brunch sweetheart.â Emily whined and said, âDo we have to?â y/n laughed and replied, âI think so. Iâm in need of a good mimosa and waffle. Plus, we can get right back to this when we get back if we want.â Emily sat up and brushed her thumb over y/nâs jaw before saying, âAlright love. Give me a few minutes to get ready and we can go. Itâs good if we go sooner though because you know how crazy that place gets after 11:00.â y/n nodded in agreement as she moved to the closet to pick out a spring dress and some matching jewelry while Emily used the bathroom and vanity to get ready. Emily chose a pink jumpsuit that fit her curves perfectly and was strapless showing off her lovely shoulders and neck.Â
y/n and Emily got to the restaurant before the big rush and were seated outside at a quiet corner table surrounded by a fence and hedge that gave the space a cool and calm feeling away from the bustle inside and the rush of cars outside. A waiter came and got their drink orders and while he was there, Emily and y/n also ordered pain au chocolat. Emily got a glass of white wine and y/n got a pomegranate mimosa, and they both got coffee. The lean man noted what they wanted and moved away. The wait time at this spot was longer giving people time to relax and talk. y/n looked at Emily wondering if she should start the conversation. Emily returned y/nâs smile, her face looking radiant in the glow of the midmorning sun. Prentiss shifted in her seat and said, âYouâve been looking so happy the last few days. Whatever it is you have to tell me I just want to say Iâm so happy to see you like this. I wish every day could be like this. That there wasnât the stress or worry of our jobs looming over us. But you make me feel safe and seen every day, and I wouldnât have it any other way.âÂ
Once Emily said the words aloud, the idea in her head sprang so full and bright that she felt like she might be bowled over by a small breeze. The idea had been there for a few months but she hadnât planned it. Certainly hadnât even dreamed of it being like this, but it felt so right. When she looked over at y/n who was clearly saying something, Emily thought for a brief moment that she might be looking at the sun, blinding it itâs light and radiance. Prentiss cleared her throat and mind and finally heard y/n repeat, âAre you alright darling? You were in your own world there for a second.â Emily nodded now knowing what she was going to do and said, âYeah Iâm good. I just had an idea. So I suppose I have something to tell you too. But you go first. What was it you were wanting to tell me today that youâve been so secretive about?â y/n blushed and felt better now that they both were going to say something, though she had no idea what Emily had up her sleeve. y/n replied, âWell why donât you go first.â Prentiss shot back teasingly, âNo you first.â They repeated this one more time before they both blurted out at the same time:Â
âI want to have a baby with you.âÂ
âI want to marry you.âÂ
When Emily and y/n both registered what the other had said they were stunned into silence. y/n felt her chest tighten with emotions that threatened to bubble over. She composed herself first and asked in awe, âEmily Prentiss, are you proposing to me right now?â Emily took a shallow breath in at what y/n had said about wanting a baby and y/nâs question and, she said, âI am, sweetheart. It just felt right right now. I donât want to spend another day without you being mine in the most real way possible. Time just goes by so fast and as soon as we know it weâll both be grey and have bad knees. Weâre both gone so often from each other so Iâd like you to be mine if youâre willing to be. y/n, will you marry me?â Emily got out of her chair and onto one knee. Again she was glad they were in a quieter part of the restaurant. y/n nodded her head yes and fell to her knees next to Em embracing her in a hug and saying, âYes, Oh of course I will. I love you so much, I want my whole life with you.â They both stayed there for a moment on the brick floor before Emily raised her head from y/nâs shoulder wiping her own eyes of the salty liquid at her corneas before pulling back and helping y/n to her feet. They hugged properly with a tight embrace that said they would never be apart for longer than they had to be, and even when they were apart, they would still be together. Em pulled back and said, âIâm sorry I donât have a ring for you, but it just felt right to ask you now. I promise Iâll get you one thatâs just perfect.â y/n smiled and said, âI know whatever you pick out will be perfect love.â She leaned in and planted her mouth on Emilyâs and they both let go of each other with a feeling of lightness and ecstasy that neither had expected this morning in bed. Just as they both sat down, the waiter returned with their pastries and drinks on a tray. He set all the plates and glasses down and said heâd be back in a bit to see if they needed anything else.Â
Once he had gone, y/n and Emily raised their glasses to their engagement and y/n said, âTo the best fiance I could ever ask for!â As they clinked glasses Em added, âAnd to my favorite person in the whole world.â They both took sips of their drinks and what y/n had said resurfaced to the front of Prentissâs mind after the euphoria of y/n saying yes to her proposal dimmed slightly. Em leaned forward and asked, ây/n you want to have a baby?â y/n flushed and nodded sheepishly. Suddenly talking to Emily about this made her feel nervous. With a steadying breath y/n replied, âNot just a baby Em. I want to have your baby. Iâve been researching reciprocal IVF. Looking up what the procedure is like for both parties, how expensive it is, and where there are clinics nearby that we could visit and consult with. I even went as far as talking to some people whoâve done it before to see how their experience was for them. Thatâs what Iâve been researching for the last few weeks. And I know this sounds so fast. Like Iâm rushing. I donât mean to pressure you into making a choice now or next week or month or even year. I just want you to know that Iâd love to build a life with you. A life that might include children in the future if thatâs something you're interested in. I just wanted to have all the facts I could about what that would possibly be like before springing something this big on youâ Emily absorbed the information and took a sip of her drink. She said with a smile, âLook at you doing your research. Not that you donât research, but I think weâre rubbing off on each other. Youâre making me more comfortable in making big moves like proposing while Iâm making you research a topic as much as possible.â y/n laughed and said, âWell, I guess that makes us pretty compatible, huh.â Emily chuckled and continued to think about what y/n had just said.Â
It wasnât something they had talked about recently, but children was a topic of discussion they had had and it made Emily relieved to know that y/n left that secure in their relationship that it was something she was seriously thinking about. Now that they were engaged, it only made more sense, even though y/n couldnât have known that coming into today. For a moment Emily pictured y/n cradling their baby, and then a toddler running around their apartment, and the child grown up and going off to school. Prentiss pulled herself from the film playing in her head. As lovely an image as it was, it was a lot to think about. She lifted her eyes up to y/nâs nervous gaze. Prentiss moved her right hand to y/nâs and held it across the table saying, âI think thatâs a beautiful idea y/n. It is a lot to think about. I do appreciate that youâre comfortable enough to tell me something thatâs really important to you. Would you mind if I give it some time to think through?â y/n squeezed Emilyâs palm and replied, âTake all the time you need love. Thereâs no rush.â Prentiss felt a surge of warmth move through her not associated with the fact that she was sitting in the sun. Having someone as passionate and who understood her so well was the best thing that could have happened to her. Emily did wonder if something had prompted y/n into her desire for children. Sheâd never been one to have baby fever before now and the shift was interesting to her.Â
Emily watched y/n sip her drink and relax in her chair a bit. Prentiss asked, âSweetheart, what sparked your desire for kids if anything? Or did it just sort of happen?â y/n sighed and said, âItâs been coming for a while I think, but things have made it speed up for me I suppose.â Emily nodded her head as if to say, âKeep going, love.â y/n placed her palms flat on the table and continued, âI guess that so much crazy stuff has been happening in the country recently. I know you know that. We both do as we work in the government, but the upturning of Roe V. Wade and all the crazy abortion bans popping up all over the place. I suppose I just donât want to be too late. Like one day we both decided it was time and by then we didnât even have that option. I donât mean to sound melodramatic or to push you in any way, we have time, itâs just made me prioritize some things in my life that I hadnât given too much thought to before now. I mean if Alabama can almost stop IVF then Iâm afraid of what might come after that. I suppose having a child became more important to me the more things like that happen here.âÂ
Emily gave a soft smile, she could more fully see where y/n was coming from and it made sense with her personality. Em moved her hand across the table and stroked her cheek gently before saying, âThat makes sense darling. Iâm going to have to think about it for a while before we do anything, but maybe when we get home, you can tell me a bit more about the process, and the cost. If we commit to something like this weâre going to need to be saving for some time.â y/n chuckled and said, âTake all the time you need darling. We can save money for that and a wedding too.â Emily paused and said, âDo you mind if I donât tell the team right away about the engagement? I just want to get a ring and have it be a bit more put together because once I tell them, weâre going to be swamped with questions from JJ, Garcia, and Rossi.â y/n snorted and covered her mouth at how accurate Emily was. She could picture that conversation happening and how Garica would pounce on Em and then how sheâd get ten calls for Penelope and then some texts and another call from Dave congratulating her. Since y/n had gotten to know the team more, Rossi had become a father figure which made her heart warm. y/n replied, âYes, of course sweetheart. That will be a day to remember. Almost as exciting as getting to say yes to you Mrs. Prentiss.âÂ
Shortly after this their waiter came back and got them a second round of drinks and they ordered some plates to share. The weekend flew by as always, and Emily showed up at Quantico with an excited air about her. The team slowly rolled into the bullpen on work days like they normally did. Em and JJ passed through security at the same time, and JJ who was now very pregnant asked Prentiss, âYou seem preoccupied today. Is something up?â Emily tried to stay cool and said, âNope, well apart from the fact that y/n and I had a late night last night.â Em gave JJ a wink and JJ shot her a sly smile replying, âWell that would make you pretty tired I suppose.â Emily laughed and the two women moved up to their floor. Prentiss hadnât been lying about y/n and her last night. Theyâd spent a few pleasurable hours both in the shower and the bed solidifying their bond. Telling one truth and omitting two others felt better than a flat-out lie. Emily was a mix of emotions today and it did make her feel and perhaps look different which she was trying to hide. She was incredibly happy about the unofficial engagement but nervous about y/nâs question. It was more than a question, it was a whole new part of their life if they pursued it. Emily spent a good deal of the morning telling Spencer and Penelope that nothing was wrong and that she was fine but tired. Even Aaron gave her a look saying that he knew something was up. But Hotch didnât always have the time for gossip and he trusted and knew Em enough that if she was having a serious problem, she could come to him anytime night or day. By lunch time, Prentiss felt a little bit more emotionally drained than she had coming into work. She hardly noticed Derek sneak in behind her to use the microwave when her leftover pasta was finished reheating.Â
Morgan said over the hum of the microwave, âSo you told Spence and Garcia everything is fine and you gave Hotch that look that itâs all cool and they left you alone, but you're one of the most put-together people on the team and something is off. Keeping secrets is a burden and Iâd think youâd like at least one person to know whatâs playing in your mind on repeat. Listen if we go on a case or something then it might make you slower. Would you please tell me whatâs going on? I wonât tell anyone else. You know Iâm also good at keeping a secret.â Derekâs appearance startled Emily, and she jumped at his first few words but calmed quickly as she listened more intently to what he was saying. She bit the inside of her lip. The problem was she knew Derek was right and somehow that bothered her. However, Morgan would be as good a person to tell as any. Their bond was strong, but not as interwoven as the rest of the team. And he was good at keeping quiet. Prentiss deflated slightly and decided to be honest with Derek saying, âOkay but this stays between us, please?â Morgan nodded his consent and indicated for Em to continue. Emily thought of the proposal but knew the issue that was bugging her was what she should say. Finally, she stated, with a slow caution, ây/n wants to have a baby with me.âÂ
That response was far from what Derek had been expecting, and he blinked a few times just to ensure heâd heard correctly. Slowly a smile crept to his face replying, âThatâs amazing, Em!â Emily nodded lightly and Derek was confused as to why she wasnât showing the same joy he was. He cleared his throat lightly and asked, âDo you not want that Emily?â Prentiss let out a long sigh and said what sheâd been thinking about since last night: âI do think I want kids in time. And y/n and I have talked about that before now. We talked about it before we became serious.â Derek was confused by her hesitation and asked, âIs y/n like, rushing you into this?â Emily nodded no and replied, âNo not at all. She knows me too well for that. She did a bunch of research beforehand and told me there wasnât any rush. And also that if kids wasnât something I was interested in she and I could talk about it.â This reply left Derek even more confused and he scratched the back of his head. Finally, Morgan asked, âSo, why are you upset exactly?â Em came out with it and said, âWhat if Iâm a bad mom? I can see y/n being the most loving and caring parent in the world, but my track history with my mother just doesnât indicate that Iâm going to be that competent a parent.âÂ
When Emily got to the point of contention, Derek couldnât help but chuckle, and Prentiss lightly slapped his board arm and said, âDonât laugh at me, Morgan.â Derek managed to stop his chuckling and say, âIâm mainly laughing at your wording, Em. I donât think any parent would say they are âcompetent.â And if youâre going to question me on that, ask Hotch if he thinks heâs a competent parent with Jack or JJ with her baby. I swear no one has it all figured out.â Emily was still hesitant and Derek continued, âEmily no matter what you decide itâs going to be the right thing. I know you and y/n wonât jump into anything, but if you ask me, I think youâll make a fantastic parent.â Emily could tell that Morgan was no longer joking and she asked, âWhy do you say that?â She was genuinely curious to hear how he would answer. Morgan leaned against the wall and replied, âWell you could just call it intuition, but the other sign to me is how in tune with yourself and y/n you are. You notice things about everyone, especially y/n. If you decide to have a kid together that will be the most loved child ever. You may not have it all figured out, but with how much you care about each other, I know you and y/n will figure out the rest. Youâll be a great Mom Em.â Emily felt her heart warm slightly and the original image of a child running around her and y/nâs apartment, or the park, or a variety of other idyllic scenes came back in a rush. She knew this wasnât always going to be the reality, but she felt encouraged and replied to Morgan, âThanks, Derek. I appreciate that. And thanks for letting me ramble.â Derek smiled again and was happy to see Emily happy. He said, âYou got it Em. And my lips are sealed.â Emily felt much better the rest of the day having one person know what she was thinking about. It helped so much that after she had talked about it, she found it much easier to work.Â
It was a few weeks later as Prentiss had found the right ring for y/n, and she and y/n had talked about breaking that set of news to the team that Emily came up behind y/n who was standing at the kitchen counter. Prentiss hugged y/n gently from behind and said softly in her ear, ây/n, I want to try. I want to try for a baby with you.â y/n froze and then turned around slowly in Emilyâs arms and said, âReally?â Emily nodded and replied, âReally baby. I want some time before we go for it, but I want to be with you.â y/n felt her eyes well with tears of happiness. Her life had felt so empty and barren before she met Emily. Now life felt so full. She was getting married to the best woman ever, and they were planning a family. A lot was yet to come in their journey, but for now, everything was perfect. As the tears started rolling, y/n mouthed, âI love you so, so much Emily,â as she leaned in with her tear-stained face and kissed Em with all the love she could give. Emily wrapped her arms around y/n and kissed her back. Yes, time went quickly, but together they would make the most of every minute there was between them and the family they were planning.

If your still doing requests I wanted to know if you could do another one with Spencer Reid and a child reader? Request: If your still doing requests I wanted to know if you could do another one with Spencer Reid and a child reader? Where he adopts a little boy (whoâs about 5) because the little boy reminds him of himself. Sorry its been so long since I updated haven't been into Criminal minds as much.
Third person pov...
5 year old Y/N Reid was playing with his toys in his room, Y/N had lost his parents to a serial killer when he was 3 years old, during the case Spencer had grown close with the boy who was alone.
Spencer had noticed how similar the young boy was to him, he noticed how he lined his toys up, how he doesn't like eye contact, how he rambled on about his favourite types of flowers, he hated touch (apart from Spencer) how he fidgets alot he rocks on his feet, how the only every time he spoke was about his special interests.
The boy was Autistic and knowone understood him apart from Spencer, he was the only on the boy would talk and answer his questions.
When the cased ended the boy threw a tantrum when he realised Spencer would be leaving him, he felt safe with the man who help catch his parents killer.
After seeing how desperately the boy wanted to stay with him Spencer told Hotch and Rossi he was going to adopt the boy, Y/N couldn't go into Foster care they would understand his needs, but Spencer did.
Spencer became Y/Ns Daddy, the 5 year old of course remembered his parents and Spencer talked about them to the boy. As Y/N plays with his toys he looks at the written schedule made by his Daddy.
He looked at the one after breakfast, he then stood up and ran for his door. "Daddy!" He yells runs towards his Dad's room, hearing the footsteps Spencer come out of his room.
Picking the boy up into his arms Spencer looks at the boy for any injuries, after checking he was okay he asked the boy what was wrong, the boy fidgets with Spencers buttons as he answered.
"Can I come to work with you?" He questions the man, Spencer thinks for a moment. This would be a good time to introduce Y/N to his team. Smiling at the boy he nods his head. "Sure Sweetheart we can do that" Y/Ns face lit up in excitement.
"Yay! Thank you daddy!" He kisses Spencers cheek and wiggles to be let down, laughing Spencer set the wriggling boy down watching as he ran off to his room.
In his bedroom Little Y/N packed his favourite books on flowers, a couple toys, his water bottle, his comfort snack, his ear defenders and finally a comfort toy. His stuffed flower (jellycat actually have one it's so cute)
Packed and ready to go Y/N left his room and ran to the living room where his daddy was getting ready for work, Spencer was dressed and was packing his bag for work.
Y/N jumped onto the couch, bouncing up and down all excited to go to hid daddy's work. The little boy had already met Hotch and Rossi, they are like his Uncle's he calls them Uncle Dave and Uncle Aaron.
"Already to go?" Spencer asks his son who was eagerly bouncing on the couch. Y/N grins at the man as he jumps of the sofa and grabs his hand, Spencer laughs as he let's his five year old drag him to the door.
Putting their shoes on the father and son leave thr apartment, Spencer holds Y/N hand as they make their way to the FBI headquarters.
As they arrived, the little H/C haired boy was filled with awe and wonder. He had never been in such a big building before, and seeing all the agents walking around in their suits made him feel like he was part of something important.
"Come on Daddy!" He giggled running to the building as he did he dropped his Dad's hand, Spencer anxiously began running after the little boy.
He caught up to the boy easily, trying tk catch his breath he held Y/Ns hands and brought him close, Spencer the knelt down infront of the boy.
His eyes level with Y/Ns wondering ones he knows the boy is listening though he wasn't looking at him. "Now Y/N, you can't run while inside okay" he tells the boy.
Y/N nods his head, hugging his stuffed flower tight. "Stick close to me okay" he tells the boy, this time Y/N looks at him and smiles. "Okay Daddy" she smiles making Spencer heart soften at his son.
"Alright let's go" he says the two start walking towards the building this time Y/N holding Spencers hand tightly so he won't get lost.
As they walked into the BAU, Spencer could feel the stares of his colleagues as they noticed the little boy by his side as they make their way towards the elevators.
When they arrive at the bullpen more looks sent their way, Spencer and Y/N ignore them and make their way to the team.
As they enter the bullpen the Team are shocked to see their boy genius with a 5 year old boy. But despite their shocked expressions, Hotch's smile was the one that caught Spencer's attention.
Seeing his boss, who was known for his stern demeanor, smile so warmly at his son, made Spencer's heart swell with pride.
Y/N hid behind his dad, when he saw everyone looking at him, "Who's this?" JJ asked, smiling at the little boy attempting to hide behind Spencer.
Laughing at his son Spencer nudged the boy with his knee though it didnt dislodge the tiny hand gripping his trouser leg.
"This is my son, Y/N. Y/N meet the team" Spencer introduced, with a smile on his face. Y/N peaked out from his Dad's legs and waves at them before hiding again.
He was never great at socialising and never liked doing it, unless he had too.
The team's reaction was a mix of shock and joy. They couldn't believe that Spencer had a son, but they were happy to see him so Father like, JJ, Penelope and Emily were right he's make a great Dad.
As the team crowded around Spencer, Derek patting his back while he got hugs of the girls, Y/N managed to sneak away from them.
With his space being invaded the 5 year old reluctantly let go of his safety line, he ran of towards his Uncle Hotch, his protection against people and touching.
Said man already saw the boy coming he lent doen and picked him up making the boy giggle.
"Hello N/N" he says to the boy.
Giggling still Y/N wrapped his arms round the man's neck and gave him a hug. "Hi Uncle" he grinned, Hotch smiled at the boy a smile reserved for his own son.
Someone gasps making Hotch look away, it was Penelope. The colourful woman was pointing at the man holding the boy her mouth open in shock.
"Hotch man don't tell me you knew about him already" Exclaimed Derek, Hotch just shrugged and talking quietly to Y/N.
Spencer smiles at his boy, glad he had met the rest of his team finally.
The end!

So Clueless || Aaron Hotchner
Summary: Request - I do want to add to your plate if you don't mind đŹ can I request a hotch x younger!reader fic where it's years after WITSEC and his retirement and he's remarried to someone younger he met at his new, normal person job... Read Rest Here
A/N: I'm back!! Loved writing this one so much! Hope you guys enjoy :)
Pairing: Aaron Hotchner x Y/N
Word Count: 3.8k+
You never planned to change your last name if you ever got married. You came through on that plan after falling in love and marrying Aaron Hotchner. He, in his early fifties, and you, a little younger than that, fell in love quickly after meeting at work when he started there almost ten years prior. You were a zookeeper and Aaron was your area manager, the rest was quite literally history.
The two of you hid the secret relationship until he was moved elsewhere in the zoo finally allowing you to come out with it. Dating turned to an engagement turned to marriage. You became Jackâs, now 17, stepmom and brought in his younger brother, Riley who just turned 9, and sister, Madison who was 7, not too long after the two of you tied the knot. Weeks turned to months turned to years and you loved your life, you really did. But the kids were getting older, and you needed a bit of a challenge. Aaron joked about you joining the FBI and the idea stuck. You werenât a profiler, no, but you would make a damn good communications liaison. Youâd basically become that for the zoo you were working at anyway. Your position of zookeeper gradually shifted to communications lead throughout the park.
Your plan was put on hold until one fateful afternoon when you saw the elusive job posting come through to your inbox. You just kept rereading the job posting before making sure your resume was up to date. You wanted to apply but decided to wait for Aaron to make sure it looked as good as possible. He worked there for years, he had to have some tricks up his sleeve.
It wasnât a few hours later that all three of your children and Aaron came bounding through the front door off to do whatever they had planned. Youâd always offered to pick the kids up from their various sports practices after work, but Aaron often refused, he wanted to spend the time with them. You could only imagine how guilty he felt about missing out on Jacks start of life. He refused to miss out on any of Rileyâs or Maddieâs.
âSweetheart.â Aaron kissed your cheek as you finished putting dishes in the dishwasher.
âHi hon.â You hugged his side pulling him into your embrace, âHow was your day?â Laying your head on his chest you looked up to him with all the love in your eyes.
âPretty uneventful. Mandy and Anthony were at each otherâs necks again. The animals behaved better than people, the usual.â He hugged you back brushing a few strands of stray hair from your eyeline.
This was his favorite part of the day, spending time with you. The fact that he knew he got to come home to you warmed his heart. Too often before he spent time in hotel rooms instead of his own bed. Oh, how he loved his own bed.
You grinned, âThey just need to hook up already. For everybodyâs sanityâs sake.â
âY/N!â He laughed squeezing your side.
You pulled away from him shrugging, âWhat? You know they only bicker like that for one reason. They both need to just need to get it over with. I think Tammy said she was going to kill one of them sooner or later if they donât shut the hell up. Her words, not mine.â You pulled a beer out of the fridge handing it to him. It was a Friday night, neither of you had any commitments in the morning, why not get your husband a little tipsy?
He took it from you, happily, âCheers.â
You clinked glasses with him giving him nothing but a happy smile.
âAnything weâre drinking for something?â He raised an eyebrow, surely profiling you.
Letting your head nod up and down you laughed softly, âHow do you always know?â
He smiled walking closer to you, âIt was once my job to notice.â He pulled you back into his embrace by looping a finger through your jean belt loop, pulling you right towards him.
âSpeaking of that.â You leaned your chin on his chest looking up at him with a smile. You didnât miss his eyebrow raise in curiosity, âJob opening just came through.â Handing him your phone you waited for him to say something, anything. He knew how hard youâd been working to set yourself up as the most desirable candidate. Often going to lectures and seminars. Inserting yourself in the world you were so far away from. Going to go get a criminal communications degree at the FBIâs favorite school, Georgetown. You wanted more, needed more than what you were stuck doing.
He nodded giving you another once over, âHoney are you sure?â
âIâm positive.â You smiled, âI finally graduated with my criminal communications degree. Iâve outgrown my position at the zoo. I think itâs perfect timing Aaron.â
âOkay sweetheart. Letâs go get that resume cleaned up.â He reached for your hand ready to get down to business. Heâd do anything for you, and this was what you wanted so that made it what he wanted too.
You werenât sure how much Aaron had helped but you knew it had to be more than he was admitting to. He claimed he simply gave Prentiss and Strauss a call to put in a good word. You knew it was more than that when you got the compensation offer for far more than youâd discussed. You werenât going to question it though. Your mom always told you never to look a gift horse in the mouth.
Youâd have assumed Aaron had told somebody of your relation to him. That assumption was soon to be proven untrue when you met the infamous BAU Unit Chief Emily Prentiss from all of Aaronâs stories who was clearly trying to figure you out. When she asked you, âAre you married?â You knew she hadnât a clue who you were. This was so Aaron to keep his two lives completely separated. A little heads up wouldâve been nice though.
âI am. I have a stepson and two kids with him.â You smiled wondering how long you could play this game until they figured it out.
Emily smiled pressing the elevator button going up, âWhat are their names?â She was just being friendly. Knowing she was childfree for good reason.
You knew it wouldnât give you away in the slightest, but it gave you the slightest thrill to speak his name out loud, âJack is my stepson. Riley and Maddie are my younger two.â You pulled out a picture that strategically hid the younger Hotchnerâs face showing it to Emily.
âTheyâre adorable.â She handed the phone back to you.
âDo you have any?â You asked knowing the answer. It felt odd knowing everything about her, yet she hadnât a clue who you were. But you had to play stupid, or youâd make it pretty obvious something was up.
She shook her head, âNo. But I have six agents that act like it sometimes.â She shot you a wink letting you get out of the elevator first. You got along great with the team after quickly recognizing JJ, Spencer, Morgan, and Penelope from Aaronâs pictures. Playing dumb was getting harder and harder throughout the day when you let it slip that your husbandâs name was Aaron and that his son Jack had just gotten his license in a story you were retelling. Something they had just been told by him not that long ago. Surprisingly nobody picked up on anything, not that you could tell anyway. You werenât a profiler but being married to one had you pick up on the small things that people normally glossed over.
When you got home that night you had Aaron howling with laughter after you detailed the day and how his old team didnât seem to have a clue that you were in fact his wife of nearly ten years now.
âDonât tell them. Letâs see how long it takes.â He cupped your face in his hands brushing his thumbs over your lips softly, waiting for your response.
A slight nod in his hands, âAny reason?â You asked, all too curious.
He shook his head, âLetâs see how well I trained them.â He laughed again. You joined in finding his joy more than contagious. More often than not he was in an incredible mood finding any and every reason to make you smile.
âTheyâre not doing so well Agent Hotchner.â You baited him. Taking a step back with a silly little smirk you watched his reaction.
He threw his hands up, âitâs only been a day sweetheart. Give them a week or two.â
âThatâs a deal.â You grinned pulling his waist in for a quick kiss on the lips. Grinning when you felt him smile into the kiss. You felt those similar butterflies you always got from him. How he managed to make you swoon all these years later was beyond your wildest dreams.
They in fact did not figure it out within a week or two. It had been a month now since you started working with the BAU at the FBI and they had yet to even piece two and two together. Youâd given them your whole life story minus pictures. The only good excuse you had was that you were private. It worked though. Nobody pried. You provided the same courtesy to them too. Only digging as far as theyâd let you.
Aaron had even gotten his longtime friend and colleague, the one youâd actually met, Rossi to play the game. He stopped by the offices every now and then to help the team when they were in town. Retirement was great but even he had to admit he was terribly bored. He claimed he needed to keep his brain from going mushy, so he had to help on cases.
He was having all too much fun testing the team, âY/N.â He called bringing you back to the present and away from your mind.
âYes, Rossi?â You looked up from the stack of paperwork you were powering through, definitely your least favorite thing about the job.
âHowâs your husband doing? Havenât talked with him in a while.â He smirked knowing only you could see his face.
He wasnât technically lying. Aaron and Dave normally spoke almost daily. Theyâd been missing each other this week though, âHeâd good. Said heâs looking forward to seeing you and Pat this weekend.â
Morgan frowned interrupting the conversation between the two of you, âYou know her husband?â
Had somebody  finally started picking up on it? How was Rossi going to talk his way out of this one?
Rossi nodded, âOh yeah, we go back years. Friends for a long time. Itâs a small world.â
Derek nodded trying to get a better read on the situation, âTheyâve known each other longer than we have.â You smiled. If the team hadnât been so overloaded he mightâve picked up on it. But he simply nodded turning back to his massive pile of bullshit he had to get done before he could leave.
âThat was close.â You whispered earning a soft chuckle from the older man.
âIâll see you later Y/N.â
You waved, âSee you Dave.â
âSmall world? Huh?â Derek looked back up giving you a side eye almost as if he didnât fully believe your story.
âIncredibly small.â You confirmed.
If he knew he didnât say a word. It wouldnât be that hard to hide if they did any sort of digging, which you were sure Penny had already done. Why she hadnât told the whole team was a mystery unto itself. There wasnât a chance she didnât do a deep dive on you for Strauss before the FBI hired you. Maybe Aaron had gotten to her before you did?
You only laughed when you saw Rossiâs old pickup truck siting in your driveway as you pulled in after working later into the night. To your delight the house was quiet leading you to believe the kids were elsewhere for the weekend. Aaron always had a plan, always. Something youâd grown to love very deeply. He could take charge of any and every situation no matter how big or small.
âDavid, I thought you said youâd be over Sunday. Not that Iâm not happy youâre here.â You grinned setting your work bag down by the kitchen island.
âThat was the plan until this afternoon. Aaron needed to know how his team is missing every sign.â David poured you a glass of the chilled Pinot Grigio he brought over.
âThey are busy Rossi, be nice.â You took a long sit of the cool wine.
Rossi smiled, âWe have to send in the big guns Monday Aaron. Jack has to come in. Bring in Y/Nâs lunch or something.â
âThatâll give it away.â You grinned setting the glass down.
He shrugged, âTheyâll never figure it out at this rate.â
Aaron sighed, âIâve got to admit. Iâm a little disappointed.â The smile on his face betrayed his words though. He loved every second of this. And with Jack being off for the summer he didnât see why he couldnât conveniently drive him in to drop off his momâs lunch.
The plan sprang to life when Monday rolled around. You couldnât believe Derek had gotten up almost the second that Jack walked out of the elevator. Waving him over you didnât notice any of your teammates watching. Unreal, what were the odds of that.
Heâd almost gotten in and out unspotted, or so you thought, before Derek walked back over spotting the now grown Hotchner.
âHey kid! What are you doing here? You grew another three inches since the last time we saw you a few months ago.â Derek roughed the teenâs hair up. You only grinned sitting in your seat, somehow heâd missed the entire interaction between the two of you.
âJust dropping off my momâs lunch.â Jack smiled knowing what game he had to play too. The Hotchner boys were having way too much fun with all of this.
âShe works here?â Derek asked, surprise evident in his voice. He didnât suspect a thing.
âShe does.â He didnât elaborate any further knowing heâd give the whole gig up if he did, careful not to look back at you.
You watched as Derek tried to figure out who the hell it could be. Obviously it had to be somebody on the floor. It wouldnât be long before he put it all together now, âWell I hope that means weâll see you some more kid.â
He nodded, âWhen Iâm not in school. See you later Derek.â
âSee you Y/N.â He waved making sure not to blow his cover.
âBye Jack.â You winked at him making sure Derek couldnât see, âIâll see you later.â
When you looked back over at Derek he was staring right at you, âSweet kid.â
He nodded confirming what you had just said. Curiosity got the better of him as he asked, âDid you see who his mom was?â Missing the fact that Jack just said bye to you and knew your name.
You shook your head, âAfraid not.â
âInteresting.â He kept looking at you. Then to the lunch that was sitting at your desk then back at you. He had to know. He was far too smart not too. But he didnât say a word.
Raising an eyebrow, you knew he was so close to connecting the dots, âWhat is?â Giving him a sweet smile trying your best to play it off.
âHotchnerâs kid being here. Last thing I expected to see today.â He sat down at his desk across from yours.
You bobbed your head along, âOld boss?â
Derek hummed turning back to his paperwork letting you know he was getting back to work. How he hadnât gotten it yet was a little surprising to you but being bogged down with so much work probably did have something to do with it. You didnât see Spencer sitting there at his own desk across the aisle listening in very closely. He did see Jack come right up to you handing you a brown paper bag before making a beeline to Rossiâs office. It didnât take him more than two seconds after that to realize you were his old bossâs wife. How could he not have seen it? Sure, you didnât take his last name, but he still shouldâve put it together. You werenât shy about using his and Jackâs names.
Spencer let out an audible sigh once he realized deciding to keep his mouth shut. It was clearly a game at this point. How long would it take the rest of the team to notice?
You smiled looking at the team photos on the wall in the conference room. It was fun to see Aaron in his element outside of what he does now. It was hard to believe he was so serious and rigid. So different than the carefree man he was now. The one he was allowed to be after taking the retirement deal Strauss offered him all those years ago.
âThat was is 2009. We were all pretty new to the team back then. Minus Hotch and Rossi.â Spencerâs voice spoke from beside you. That drew your eyes away from your young husband and back towards him.
âYou all look like babies.â You laughed scanning over the much younger faces of the team members.
Spencer smiled, âIâd like to say we were naĂŻve too, but we were years into it at that point. Weâd seen it all, how awful humanity could be.â
You couldnât fully understand Aaronâs stories until you had gotten here. This team truly saw the worst of the worst and stories only told you so much. In just your month here you fully understood. You got why he cautioned you. You could certainly handle it. It didnât make it any easier though.
âYeah, at least you had each other right?â You asked.
âCouldnât have done it without them.â He turned pointing towards Aaron, âWithout him. He did a lot for us. Miss him a lot sometimes.â
âHeâs handsome.â You grinned not thinking Spencer had a clue of his relation to you.
He ignored you asking his own question, âDid you change your last name when you got married?â
You shook your head quickly, âNo, too much of a hassle now a days. My friend got into a legal nightmare with taxes when everything didnât switch over properly.â
He laughed softly enjoying your rambling, âWhatâs his last name then. Aaron what? Donât think you ever told us, Y/N.â He leaned back on the wall grinning like a little Cheshire cat.
Busted. He had to have known. Do you tell him? Might as well, âHotchner.â You bit your cheek to hide the little smile that was threatening to spill over.
He clapped his hands together, âI knew it.â
âCourse you figured it out.â You laughed seeing the excitement of being right cross his face, âWhat gave it away?â
âJack dropping off your lunch.â He scratched the back of his head, âItâs a little embarrassing I didnât figure that out sooner.â
You shrugged, âItâs not like Iâve met you before. Plus, weâre more than a little busy here.â
âIs that why we didnât get an invite to the wedding? He wanted to hide that side of his life away?â A flash of what looked like hurt crossed his face before a neutral expression took over.
You shook your head quickly, âOur parents didnât even get an invite. It was just me, Jack, and Aaron.â You bumped your hip against his trying your best to reassure him.
Relief washed over, âSmall wedding.â
You laughed, âVery intimate. Weâd both already done the big fancy weddings. We wanted to make it just about us. It was incredible.â You admitted to him. Divulging another aspect of your life to him that had yet to come up. Youâd gotten married and divorced. Married far too young with no plan didnât make for a very loving and lasting relationship.
âWait.â Derekâs booming voice came from the entrance of the conference room, âYouâre married to Hotch?â
You spun around on your heal facing Derek and the team behind him with equally confused expressions, âGuilty as charged.â You smiled at them. You had to start laughing seeing all their expressions go from confusion to recognition to acceptance.
âFinally!â Penny let out a rather large sigh of relief, âIâve been hiding that for far too long.â She shot you a wink.
Derek cocked his head to the side, âWhy didnât you say something baby girl?â
You spoke up for her knowing he was about to try and guilt trip her, âIt was Aaronâs idea. Rossi and I just played along. Pennyâs good at keeping secrets.â You returned her wink noting Rossiâs absence. Heâd be so annoyed he missed this.
Derekâs jaw looked like it was about to hit the floor, âWell I guess itâs nice to formally meet you Mrs. Hotchner.â
Shaking your head you responded with a big cheesy grin on your own face, âHe thinks he failed you all at this rate. We had a bet that youâd get it within two weeks. He took the under.â
âDonât look so smug Hotchner lite.â He took two fingers and pointed them right at you.
The entire room erupted at that one, âHotchner lite. I like that one.â You answered him once all the laughter died down.
âAlright,â Emily commanded the attention back from the room, âHotch owes us all a round after pulling that little stunt.â
âThat he does.â You agreed, âHe said your all invited over once you figure it out. Consider this the formal invitation.â The team agreed before the day started and the case was given. Fortunately, the case was local.
When you got home late that night you found your husband quickly wrapping him in a big hug before spilling the details of your day. He stood there listening to every word like it could be your last. Just another thing you adored about him. He just made you feel so cherished and adored.
âOf course, it was Reid.â Aaron chuckled once you finished the story, âFor as smart as they all are they can be so clueless sometimes.â
âThatâs what I said!â You joined in the laughter with him as the two of you snuggled in on the couch. Neither of you making a move to turn on the TV, just enjoying each otherâs presence. Leaning your head down on his chest your eyes drifted shut listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat.
âI love you sweetheart, get some sleep.â He ran his hands through your hair knowing thatâd knock you right on out.
âLove you.â You mumbled before falling asleep on top of him, happier than ever with the way your life seemed to just fall into line.

atlas do you think you could write a platonic BAU reader piece with hotch on fathers day? reader is he/him and disowned by parents and just doesnât want to think about his old man that day but then he realises that hotch is his sort of surrogate dad at work? and they just have a nice day together while jack and Haley are in witsec and it just really heals both hotch and reader to be able to do something nice that day. I love your writing but no pressure. đ¤
This was such a cute idea! Thank you for sending it to me!!! I hope you like what I did :)
Warnings: mentions bad dads, Jack and Haley being in witsec
It doesn't hit you until just before your lunchbreak that you have a dad. Well, a sort of dad. One that didn't disown you or make you feel less than the shit on his shoe. It was one that gently guided you in the right direction, one that gave you small smiles of encouragement despite his usual stern demeanor. It was one who would always buy you a muffin and a coffee in the morning because he knows you wake up late and always miss breakfast and he knows you won't be able to function without a coffee. It was one who made sure you knew he cared about you through extending report deadlines, making you take mental health days, driving you home after work because he wanted to make sure you got home safe.
It didn't matter if Hotch wasn't your dad by blood, because he was in every other way. You take an earlier break, making sure that it's okay with Hotch before you rush off to the store. You browse the cards, trying to find the perfect one - you didn't want to overdo it, he already had a son anyway. You just wanted to show him that you cared.
You fill it out before you even start eating your food - you wanted to get it done. So you write down your thoughts, how despite being your boss, he was also like your father.
When the card was finished, you ate. Now that the main task was over, you could relax and enjoy your food and not worry about his reaction to the card until you had finished eating (although, based on your shaking leg and nervously looking around, the rule didn't really stop your body from getting anxious).
When you had finished eating, you made your way back to the BAU. You gave everyone a small nod of acknowledgement but headed straight to Hotch's office, giving the door a small knock.
"Come in," You take a deep breath before entering the room, giving Hotch a small smile as you walked in, holding the card behind your back.
"Hi," You gave a small nod.
"Is everything okay?" He asked gently.
"O-oh, er yeah," You nodded, brushing your hand over the back of your head, "I just- I wanted to give you something and I really hope it's not weird but-"
Hotch gave you a small smile, "You're okay, (Y/N), everything's fine, what was it you wanted to give me?"
You hand over the envelope silently - hoping that Hotch doesn't notice how your hands are gently trembling (he does but doesn't comment on it).
"What's this?" He asks quietly, turning the envelope over with gentle hands as he opens it, starting to pull out the envelope.
"A Father's day card." You said, cheeks beginning to tint pink. "I, er, I know you have Jack and I'm not actually your son, but you're my work dad, so it felt fitting,"
Hotch looked at you, a smile ghosting over his lips. "Thank you," His voice was genuine as he spoke, "This means a lot to me."
"You mean... you're not totally freaked out by it?" When Hotch shook his head, you relaxed, "Oh thank God... I had gotten it into my head that you were gonna completely freak or something - no offence,"
Hotch gave a short laugh, "None taken." There was a small pause, "You should probably get back to work, (Y/N), but... thank you for this, really." He gave you a smile (which you returned).
"Yeah, okay," You gave a nod, exiting the room.
When you had left the office, Hotch gave a small smile to the card, before he placed it on his desk, next to a photo of Jack and Haley.
'To Hotch, I know you're not my dad (by blood at least) and I hope I'm not overstepping here, but you're the closest to a dad I've had. Ever. I just thought that maybe it would be a good thing to let you know. I know you're having a hard time with Jack and Haley being gone for a little while, but we'll get them back. I know we will. Until then, we've got to keep our chins up because we will get them back. I know it. I just wanted to thank you for everything you've done for me (and the team). So: Happy Father's Day. (Y/N) - your (favourite) agent P.s. can we keep this from Morgan and Prentiss? They'd probably tease me for life if they ever found out about this.'

Iâm in love with your criminal minds Drabbles!! If possible Iâd love to see some bonding between hotch and Reidâs sister <333
You sleeping in arbitrary places wasn't exactly a rarity around the BAU. Not quite yet an official member of the teamâthough somehow Hotch had enrolled you in some sort of experience programme you were pretty sure he'd made up for your benefitâyou had to make do with stiff seats and tucked away corners on the daily as you waited for Spencer to finish his work. Surprisingly, the long days and even longer nights hadn't seemed to sway your wish to join the team just yet, though no one had placed any bets that it would.
Even so, said arbitrary places weren't exactly made use of at nearing midnight on a Friday. Having returned from Gideon's case just that evening, Hotch had sent everyone home with their promises of sleep before hiding himself away in his office to complete some work before the weekend. By the time he'd finished, the bureau had settled into the usual ambience consisting of the few late night workers and janitors.
He headed into the break room with the intention of grabbing a water bottle from the fridge and heading straight home, but the sudden sight of you and yet another of your arbitrary sleeping spots told him that might not be achievable just yet.
You were curled up on the break room couch, a stack of pillows under your head and what looked to be your brother's tweed jacket doing its best to act as a blanket. Hotch stared for a moment, concern slowly pushing away his brief amusement at the situation, and rose a brow when one of your eyes opened to stare at him.
"Hotch," you greeted, not at all groggily, which told him you probably hadn't slept.
Hotch put his bag down and seated himself on the end of the couch. "Y/N, whatâre you still doing here?" he asked gently. He put a comforting hand on your ankle under the jacket and you sat up, tucking your frizzy hair behind your ears.
You yawned and shrugged. "Sleeping. Or, lying down, rather."
âI mean in the building." He smiled at your belated look of realisation. "Is Spencer still here?"
The expression on your face grew from tired to exhausted at the mere mention of your brother. Hotch sat back and crossed his arms, an instinctive movement when he figured some profiling may have to come into play. Those lines settled against his brow as he waited for your response.
You picked at a loose thread in the couch. âPlaying chess," you said, then looked knowingly up at him. "I know what youâre gonna say, Hotch, but itâs easier to just leave him and let him do his thing. Gideonâs death hit him hard.â
Hotch nodded slowly. âI know. But what about you?â
âI donât remember Gideon much.â
A corner of his lips curved upwards. Trust you to worry the least about yourself.
"I donât mean that," he said gently, wondering how his next words would be taken. "Spencer has a tendency to forget about the people around him when he gets himself into one of these states. Nowâ" He pointed a finger at you before you could rise to your brother's defense "âthat's not his fault, and he'll come out of it soon enough. But in the meantime, I donât want you sleeping here until morning, Y/N." His fatherly instincts long having kicked in, his eyebrows rose in solemnity. "You need some proper rest in your own bed. The couch isn't going to cut it.â
You breathed a dubious laugh, still pulling at the thread. âSpencer has no plans on coming home tonight. Rossiâs already tried.â
âThen let me drive you home?" Your fingers paused and your mouth twisted in thought. Your face was hidden by a curtain of hair, but Hotch dipped his head enough to see your expression. He smiled knowingly. You didn't want to be alone. "OrâŚI can set up the spare room at mine?â
You peered up at him and for the first time he noted your level of exhaustion. Not only had you been kept physically awake by Spencer's turmoil, but your anxiety about the situation had mentally drained you, too. With your mother states away in a facility and your father completely written out of the picture, Spencer was your person and had been since he'd taken custody of you at four years old. When he wasn't himself, neither were you, and Hotch had always known it.
You took a second to respond, looking past him and out the open door for a moment before returning your gaze to his. "You don't mind?"
Hotch smiled and squeezed your shoulder in reassurance. The end of your storm was near, he was sure.
"Of course not," he said. "You get yourself ready and I'll tell Spencer."

Aaron liked to have control over most things. Even in things he couldnât or perhaps shouldnât control, he still tried to. This could include running on an injured ankle, or going out even though he knew it was too hot for his liking in an outfit that didnât suit the heat. Half of this had to do with the fact that he could be stubborn, and the other half was a bit darker. The times that he went over these limits had often to do with his ability to endure. He knew a good deal about endurance from his work as a prosecutor, the leader of the BAU, and most impactful to him, from his childhood. His father had often reminded him that he wasnât strong or a man with his fists, or a belt, or bottle, or anything Mr. Hotchner senior could get a hold on, and Aaron had endured it. Heâd lived beyond it. Even with that being the case, and him trying to work through his questions about inadequacy, he still pushed himself too hard sometimes. It was a sort of naturally ingrained response unless he caught it early on.Â
y/n had noticed this trait in him and had brought it up a few times when they were more stable in their relationship. It hadnât exactly been an easy topic, as y/n wasnât sure why Aaron, who cared about his health and ability to perform in the field would seem to hurt himself by doing something reckless by his standards. One afternoon, when heâd limped toward her, y/n tilted her head and said, âHey, how was your run?â y/n had stayed behind to play with Jack on the swings and playground while Aaron got in his long Saturday run. He and y/n would normally go early, but they had both slept through their alarm due to a long case earlier that week, a swamp of paperwork when they got back and some mandatory training on Friday. All in all, it had been too long a week for anyone to like, and they needed the rest. Thus, the plans for the day had been postponed.Â
Aaron wiped a hand over his face and then over his shirt. y/n looked at Jack who was now on the slide and then back to Hotch. y/n noticed how he was favoring one foot. She knew his gait better than anyone and it was easy to tell that something was up. Aaron could see it in y/nâs face -- the concern. He tried to brush it off by saying, âIt was fine. My time was slower than normal, but Iâd say that it was because I was so tired.â What Aaron had said was a lie. His ankle had started to hurt about halfway through his run, but heâd ignored it and pressed on anyway. By the time heâd gotten to the last mile, his right ankle was throbbing in pain. Heâd fixed his expression to the best of his ability when he rounded the bend where heâd see y/n. He didnât want her to be concerned. His faking a normal expression and lying didnât stop y/n from seeing that something was wrong. y/n was about to ask him to clarify because she didnât have to tell him that he was lying to see that something was wrong. However, Jack came and hugged the back of her legs, looked up at his dad, and said, âHi Daddy!â Aaron smiled and replied, âHey Buddy. Did you have fun on the playground?â Jack nodded his head enthusiastically and said, âMh hm, I made new friends.â This fact warmed Hotchâs heart. Jack could struggle sometimes in meeting new people. Aaron said, âThatâs great, Jack. Now I hear that itâs going to get hot in a few minutes, so how about we head home?â Jack and y/n nodded, and y/n watched as Jack scrambled into his dadâs arms. Again she noticed the brief flash of pain on his face as they moved to the car.Â
y/n waited until they got to Aaronâs apartment and Jack was tucked in for a nap that y/n moved to Hotchâs bedroom to ask him what was up. She didnât hope this ended in an argument, but it seemed like this was something he was keeping from her and Aaron could be so closed off about his personal life sometimes. But if he was hurting, y/n wanted to know about it. She moved into Hotchâs bedroom where he was taking off his shirt and getting ready for a shower. y/n stood in front of him as he was sitting on the bed and leaning down to take off his socks as y/n said, âAaron, whatâs going on? You looked like you were hurting back there in the park. Also when you picked up Jack.âÂ
Aaron tried one last attempt to avoid this conversation as he said, âWell, my ankle is acting up a bit, but Iâm sure it will be fine.â y/n blocked him from standing and took both of his large hands in hers. His fingers were calloused in the same places as hers from holding a gun or a pen in a grip that was probably too tight from stress. It was comforting to feel the thickness of his skin mirrored in her palm. y/n looked down at him and said, âAaron please be honest with me?â Hotch looked down at their entwined hands and then back up at y/n. He didnât like lying. So much of their relationship had been built on trust. Theyâd gotten together a few months after Haley had called their marriage quits. If Aaron was being honest, heâd loved y/n for a while before his union with Haley dissolved. But Hotch was a man who believed in his commitment to his wife and heâd never done or said anything to y/n, his newest agent, until long after he had his wife split. He loved Haley dearly and heâd never hurt her by cheating. And y/n loved Aaron and his commitment too, so they were willing to give up any hope with a man she had slowly come to admire more than just a boss, fellow agent, or friend. y/n fully holding herself back had been one of the reasons Hotch had liked her so much. Heâd seen women fling themselves at him while he was fully with Haley. Before their relationship got rocky. Even when Haley was pregnant with Jack women had tried to woo him. But never y/n. Even when she knew that he and Haley were struggling she never made a move. She had distanced herself more from him. Had supported him and let things play out to their natural conclusion.Â
As Aaron thought about the kinds of sacrifice y/n had made for him, he squeezed her hand and said, âMy right ankle is hurting me pretty badly actually. It started in the middle of the run. I think itâs from when I had to dodge that bullet in the last case. I tweaked it a bit then, but it didnât hurt much so I ignored it. But today on my run it really started acting up.â As soon as y/n heard this, she dropped to her knees next to the bed and gently pulled off his right sock. She didnât care about how the sock or his feet smelled. If Aaron was in pain, y/n needed to make sure he was okay. By the look of his swollen and slightly bruised ankle, it didnât look great. y/n gently caressed the spot on his foot and Aaron flinched instinctually even though y/n hadnât hurt him. She looked up at his dark brown eyes and asked, âSweetheart why did you keep running on this? It must have hurt you. You could have called me and I would have brought Jack and helped you?â y/n had never seen Aaron hurt or allow himself to be hurt like this. Sure, sheâd seen him overwork himself, but this was different, this was physical more than mental.â Aaron bit the inside of his cheek before putting his arm under y/nâs arm and guiding her to sit beside him.Â
Once she was seated next to him and looking at him with the same concern, he heaved a small sigh before saying, âI felt like I had to I guess. Sometimes I get that way.â y/n tried to understand why heâd feel that way and said, âWhy, youâre hurting yourself. I wouldnât see you as weak if you needed a break. Youâre the strongest man I know. You donât have to prove that to anyone.â Hotch closed his eyes and leaned his head into the crook of her shoulder smelling the slightly floral scent of her perfume. He didnât want to be seen as he replied, âItâs not about proving it to anyone else, itâs about proving it to me. My⌠my father always said I was weak. He tried to break me and he never did, but sometimes I canât push those thoughts out of my head. I know itâs juvenile to explain it like that, it was so long ago, but it still happens sometimes.â y/n turned to him, wrapped him in a tight hug, and stayed there for a minute to let the words sit around them. To give them the time they deserved. y/n pulled away and looked at Aaron saying, âItâs not dumb and it makes sense. Your father treated you horribly, so it makes sense that that would stick with you. I just donât want you to hurt yourself. I want you to know that you are good enough. Iâll keep telling you that until you believe it.â Aaron nodded slightly and gave y/n a soft smile. He should have known that y/n would understand him. It wasnât easy for him to have these conversations. To open up. He knew he was lucky to have y/n in his life who knew him so well and could tell that he needed some help sometimes in dealing with his thought process.Â
y/n stood up and said, âNow, we can talk more about this later, but I want you to stay right there, No moving around and no shower. Just hang tight.â Aaron smiled and said, âYes maâam.â y/n chuckled at his tone but got up and moved first to the hallway where they kept a basin to clean Jackâs shoes in when they got muddy at school. y/n then got a glass of water and added ice before turning the tap to hot. Once the temperature was warm, but not scalding, she filled the basin. y/n then grabbed some Epsom salt from under the sink and added a fourth of a cup to the warm water; she stirred it with her hand until the salt began to dissolve. When y/n was happy with the mix, she carried the basin with two hands into the bedroom and carefully set it down on the carpet without spilling any of the liquid inside. She moved Aaronâs injured foot into the water and as soon as his ankle was submerged, he sighed with how good it felt. The sound made a rush of warmth rush through y/n, but she ignored it. Instead, she moved back to the kitchen and grabbed the cup of water and then some pain meds from the bathroom. She handed both items to Hotch and he took them with a smile and said, âThank you sweetheart. How do you always know what I need?â y/n smiled and moved behind him on the bed gently messaging his neck and shoulders. He leaned back into her touch with another little groan and y/n felt that same rush again. At this point, she wondered if he was messing with her. For now, she just kept relaxing his stiff muscles and said, âI think I learned from the best because you take such good care of me. I think today I get to return the favor.âÂ
Aaron and y/n didnât speak much more about what he had said, but they both knew it was going to be a conversation they would have again soon. Instead, y/n just made him relax and stay off his feet for the rest of the day. She took care of Jack and dropped him off at Haleyâs while Aaron slept. Even though y/n and Hotch had been dating for a good while, and they were very committed, two things hadnât yet changed in their relationship. The first was that y/n and Aaron still hadnât moved in together yet. They both found comfort in having their own space for themselves. It was good that after a case they had a place to relax and unwind alone if they needed it. There was a comfort for them in space, though y/n mostly spent her time at Aaronâs
apartment. The second constant, which was harder to maintain, was that the team didnât know they were seeing each other. There had been multiple times that members of the team had almost caught them, but shockingly it hadnât happened yet. Aaron assumed that Dave knew and Hotch had spoken to y/n about it, and she said it was fine. If Rossi brought it up, then Aaron could tell him. There wasnât a reason to directly lie to the team, they just hadnât explicitly made it a point to tell them either. At the start, they had kept it a secret to protect themselves. It might not have been strictly against the rules of the FBI employee handbook, but at the same time, it was easier to just keep it to themselves. By the time that y/n and Aaron had become fully committed, they had just gotten used to having it be between themselves. It felt like something they could have outside of work, even though work did come into it often. Keeping it a secret worked for both of their personalities. For Aaron who was a rule follower, it just made sense, and for y/n, who was a bit shy about her personal life, it allowed her to not have to have ten thousand conversations that could be intimate with the team. However, that would all change a month or so later.Â
It was early spring and the weather had changed to the warmer side instead of the cold Virginia often saw into late February or March. When Aaron woke at his normal 5:00 a.m. He felt a bit colder than normal as he got out from under the duvet. He assumed that it was because it was one of the rare nights when y/n was over at her apartment and not in bed with him. He also felt a bit foggy as he got up, brushed his teeth, and shaved. He didnât think much of this either as he made his coffee and then headed to the office like he usually did when a case didnât take the team away from Quantico. Aaron and y/n usually ended up getting to the office an hour early so they could have some time to themselves in the morning. They used to spend that time in the evenings after five, but as they continued to attempt it early in their relationship, it turned out that the team was much more likely to stay late in the office to finish up work than come in early. The only people who sometimes saw Aaron and y/n come in together or even enter Aaronâs office together were the janitors and now and then, Dave. They didnât do anything inappropriate in the office, just work or talk on his couch. Hotch didnât allow for hardly any outward signs of their relationship at work. However, he was looking forward to seeing y/n. It always seemed to set them up for a good day.Â
When Aaron arrived at the office, he felt that same chill run through him and his head started to ache a bit. He felt hot under the collar and as he got up the stairs and to his office, he just now considered that he might be sick. He hadnât been sick yet that year but it happened to him at least once annually. He hadnât expected it to be in March. And because he hadnât expected it, he chose to believe it must be something else like his allergies kicking in. Heâd arrived early even for his standards, and he sat down and pulled out his briefcase and laptop. After he did this, he realized that he wasnât feeling that good and he moved to his couch to just close his eyes for a minute to try and collect himself for the day ahead. Aaron was startled awake at the sound of tapping on his door. He sat up and the room spun in front of his eyes. The lamp by his desk particularly blurred his vision as he stumbled to the door. He felt hot all over and as he stood, a few beads of sweat moved down his back making him shiver. He hadnât realized that heâd fallen asleep and was surprised to see y/n outside his door. He felt disoriented and said, ây/n? What are you doing here?âÂ
y/n looked at him concerned and said, âIâm here to hang out before work like we always do. Sorry Iâm late, something came up at the apartment and I had to deal with it. Are you okay sweetheart?â y/n observed Aaron with a careful eye. He looked flushed and his eyes seemed slightly glazed over. He was also perspiring even though he must have had his office thermostat down to its lowest setting. Hotch nodded and said, âYeah just a little tired I guess.â He stepped farther back and couldnât believe heâd forgotten about the fact that y/n was coming early. y/n slipped past him into the dim office. She was only a few inches away from his body when she noticed just how warm he felt, even from a distance. Once Aaron had closed the door with a soft click, y/n turned to face Hotch and placed a hand on his forehead. She could feel him burning up and was sure he was running a fever. She led him back to his couch and he sat down with a little grunt as y/n took his hand and said, âAaron, youâre so warm. You canât be feeling good right now.â Hotch tipped his head back and half closed his eyes and in his normal, stubborn fashion replied, âIâll be fine y/n. Itâs just allergies or something. If I drink some cool water and just sit for a minute I can make it through the day.â y/n frowned at him and his antics before saying, âAaron, you run warm, but you donât run that warm. Also, your shirt is sticking to your chest because youâre sweating from the heat, so unless youâre planning on staying cooped up in your office all day, everyone else is going to know how you feel too.âÂ
Hotch groaned as he realized that his body was giving away with how bad he was currently feeling. His headache was back and he was longing for y/n to put her cool hand on his head again. y/n could see the look of defeat on his face. Ever since theyâd had the conversation about his ankle and subsequent discussion about Aaronâs need for care just like everyone else, heâd started asking her for more help when he needed it. Today was another reminder that he could still feel the need to perform, even when he was sick, but that it was okay that he treated himself well too. That he wasnât letting anyone down by needing some rest. y/n moved over to his desk and started neatly packing his things back into his briefcase and bag. By the time y/n was working on gathering his belongings, he was back on the cool couch and his heavy eyes were closed again. y/n pulled his suit jacket and tie up from the floor, it was the last thing she needed of his. y/n was grateful that she had brought all of her things up to his office. That meant that they could go straight to the car. When y/n had all of their things by the door, she moved back to the couch, gently touched Aaronâs shoulder, and said, âAaron, can you get up? Iâm gonna drive you home.â Hotch grumbled something that sounded like, âJust five more minutes,â and y/n huffed at how this sickness was making him feel. With a firm voice, y/n said, âNot five more minutes. If we play that game weâll be here all day and then youâll try and do work again or something. Now stand up for me.âÂ
Hotch gave a slight groan but slid his feet to the floor and pushed his body off of the couch. y/n could see a sweat stain where his back had been and hustled him out the door before he could see it and made a fuss about germs or something else to keep him in the office. y/n was sure she looked funny with her bag and purse, plus Hotchâs suitcase along with her boss leaning into her slightly as she wrapped an arm around his back to take him down the short flight of stairs and toward the elevator. Again y/n was grateful that Aaron was slightly out of it as Rossi exited the elevator bank on his and Aaronâs floor. The older man looked over at y/n and mouthed, âWhatâs wrong with him?â y/n mouthed back, âHeâs sick and throwing a fit. He wants to stay.â Dave nodded, rolled his eyes, and pulled out his phone, indicating that she should check it when she was free. y/n nodded and kept moving Aaron toward the exit.Â
The pair just missed the entrance of Emily, Derek, and Spencer which was a stroke of luck. y/n helped Hotch into the passenger seat of her car and dropped all of their things in the back then y/n slid into the driver's side and started the engine. Aaron had perked up once he was outside and he looked over to y/n and said, âListen, sweetheart, I can drive myself. Really, Iâll be okay if I just get an hour or two of sleep.â y/n threw him a warm smile while looking up from her phone and said, âAaron. Somehow I feel like if Iâm not there watching you, youâre going to be working or trying to be productive. Now, to avoid that and you being sick for longer, which I know you hate, Iâm going to take you home and watch after you. Youâre running quite the temp and I want to take care of you, remember.â Aaron turned to y/n and smiled at her. He remembered in a hazy kind of way how much y/n cared for him in times when he could be stubborn and try and push himself. Heâd ended up being much kinder to himself in the last month thanks to y/nâs care. That didnât mean he didnât still fall into his old habits, like today, but he had y/n to look out for his best interests, even if he didnât always want to admit that in the moment. y/n heard her phone ping and she pulled it out of her exterior purse pocket. It was a message from Rossi that simply stated, âTake care of him. Iâll let an admin know that Aaronâs out with a cold - Dave.â y/n chuckled at how old school Rossi could be by signing his texts with his name like his contact wasnât in her phone already. He was being helpful, however, by telling Patricia in admin about Hotchâs absence for the day. That ensured that she didnât have to go into his computer and file a report for him explaining why heâd be out of the office today. From the way Hotch was lightly snoring in the seat next to her, y/n highly doubted heâd have the energy to request time off when he got home, and even if y/n had picked up on Aaronâs password for his state-sanctioned computer, it would be a high-level breach of protocol on her part to go anywhere near the device. y/n could only imagine the intel on the computer in Hotchâs briefcase behind her, and in some ways was happy not to have such a burden of knowledge on her shoulders.Â
The pair made it to Hotchâs apartment in good time despite the morning rush into town. y/n grabbed all of their things first and moved them inside Aaronâs first-floor apartment. If he was in his full faculties she knew heâd throw her a stern look and go back for their work things first and give some comment about the safety of sensitive information if she tried to get him inside first. He would be correct of course, but it was always funny that Aaronâs mannerisms had started to rub off on her with time. y/n wasnât complaining. It made her a better and safer agent. She was surprised that the team hadnât picked up on it yet though. After y/n dropped their things off inside the door, then turned to go back to Aaron. Hotch had woken from his light sleep when y/n gently closed her door. He had gotten out of the car and was walking down the sidewalk. His muscles were slightly achy as they always did when he got sick. He lifted his arms above his head and y/n flushed as his shirt revealed a small stripe of his tummy. The trail of hair that led from his belly button down to his nether regions was on clear display. It looked pressed down from his shirt and the sweat on his body and the sight had y/n sigh. She wished more than anything to just have it be the weekend and be laying next to Aaron with her hand under his sleeping shirt trailing her fingers through that strip of hair from his belly button and lower. Aaron noticed y/n freeze and he lowered his arms. He still wasnât feeling good at all but couldnât help but say as he stepped next to her, âNow looks who looks like theyâre warm?â Hotch watched as the blush only worsened on y/nâs face and she said, âHa ha. Now letâs get you inside and in bed, Sir.â That comment had Aaronâs eye widen and he sighed, putting his warm hand on y/nâs back leading them to the door.Â
Once inside, y/n took the lead and took Aaronâs hand in hers, a classic gesture that they had become accustomed to in either of their homes. At the beginning of the relationship, Aaron was so used to not touching in the office or on the plane that he would take his hand away out of instinct. But over time he got used to the feeling of their hands conjoined. After a long case or a hard or boring day in the office which was most of them. Aaron could hardly wait to feel the comfort and grounding presence of y/nâs hand in his. They would hold hands whenever possible at home, even if it was impractical. y/n took him into his room and Hotch sat on the cool bed. y/n moved her hand to his shirt and started to unbutton it for him as he unbuckled his belt and pulled it out of the loops of his pants. This was the kind of soft intimacy that Aaron loved with y/n. She stripped his shirt from his body which was sticking to his skin slightly. When this was done, Aaron stood and slipped out of his pants. Now that he was home and he was in his room, the bed called him and he pulled the covers aside and dipped down to the cool mattress letting out a sigh of relief. He closed his eyes just as y/n leaned down, picked up his clothes, and moved to the laundry hamper to put them there. She then moved into the bathroom and grabbed a few towels. Two she dampened with cool water and wrung out and the last she kept dry. y/n moved back to the bedroom and sat on the side of the bed. Aaron was shivering slightly and y/n assumed it was because of his sweat cooling him off. He usually kept it pretty cold in his apartment. y/n gently pulled the covers off of him and used the dry towel to wipe off his sweat. Hotch didnât open his eyes as y/n did this. He was so comfortable around her. He used to feel like he needed to look a certain way and act a certain way even outside of the office like with holding hands, but now he could do or act anyway around her, and she could do the same. Aaronâs eyes fluttered open when y/n placed the cool towels on his forehead and chest. y/n smiled at his half-lidded gaze and brushed his hair back with her hands and he murmured, âThanks sweetheart.â y/ns smiled and said, âOf course love, now just rest.âÂ
Once Aaron fell back to sleep, y/n got up and went back into the main room. She pulled out her laptop and sent in a request for a day off citing personal reasons as the cause. This wasnât wholly a lie as taking care of Hotch was a personal reason to stay home for the day. y/n didnât think about texting the team as she noticed some dishes in the sink and as she passed Jackâs room it seemed like it could use some picking up. y/n worked on the dishes first and then moved to the toys over the floor and bed of Jackâs bedroom. y/n knew that doing these small tasks would take a load off of Aaronâs shoulders later. These chores took about an hour and as y/n was walking out of Jackâs room, she got a call from Emily. y/n answered her phone and said, âHey Em. Howâs everything at the office?â Emily replied, âWell quiet for starters. You and Aaron are both out today. Apparently Hotch has a cold or something? Did you catch it too?â y/n thought quickly and pretended to not know that Aaron was sick and said, âAaron is sick? Has that ever happened before? I swear heâs always in the office.â y/n heard Emily chuckle on the other end of the line and said, âTell me about it. But anyway, whatâs youâre excuse?â y/n through of a lie and said, âHouse problems. That drip in my ceiling from the workman redoing the unit upstairs turned into a river. Iâve been on the phone with maintenance and insurance for the last two hours.â There was a brief pause and Prentiss said, âDamn. Listen y/n, youâve gotta get out of that place.â y/n laughed. She was happy to hear Emily and didnât notice as Aaron moved out of his room. Heâd taken Asperin which y/n had left on the table for him if he felt like he needed them. He was still very tired as he moved behind y/n with an empty glass and asked loudly enough for Em to hear Hotch ask, âWhoâs on the phone, sweetheart?âÂ
There was a heavy pause on the other end of the line before Emily said, ây/n, are you with Aaron. Did⌠did he just call youâŚâ y/n quickly said, âHey, gotta go Em. Iâll talk to you laterâ before quickly hanging up the phone. y/n turned to look at Aaron and his face took on a sheepish look as he asked, âI take it that was a member of the team?â y/n silently nodded before bursting out into a laugh and saying, âAaron, how have we kept this a secret for so long and youâre the one who goes and says something about it? On the phone nonetheless?â Hotch couldnât help but chuckle too as he placed his head in the crook of y/nâs neck. He inhaled her scent and said, âCan you blame me? Iâm sick after all.â y/n scoffed; she could still feel the heat radiating off of him, and if he wasnât so warm to the touch, she might have thought that he was doing this all to get them alone and out of the office. But Aaron would never do that. He was a great partner but also a workhorse and a dedicated employee. Aaron simply did not miss work, which was why y/n had to pressure and make sure he got home and rested. Heâd be itching to get back to the office by tomorrow but heâd be out for longer if he overdid it now. y/n would have to think about his response about the team finding about them. Sheâd also need to think about her reaction, though y/n was sure most of that would depend on how the team responded. For now, y/n turned to Hotch and asked, âWhat are you doing up out of bed? Youâre supposed to be resting.â Aaron stood back and replied, âJust getting some ice and another glass of water.â y/n smiled at him and said, âOkay, Iâll grab it for you. Now, you go lie down. Iâll be right there with some cold water.â Hotch nodded and walked back to his room. y/n moved toward the kitchen with a smile on her face. She wasnât happy that Aaron was sick, just that he was so willing to let her help him. He was used to the notion that he needed to take care of everything himself, so letting her help him in these small ways was a big deal to y/n.Â
While y/n and Aaron were talking after y/n had hung up on Emily abruptly, Emily was standing in the center of the bullpen near her desk with her mouth slightly ajar and eyes wide with shock. Prentiss wasnât even sure how to process what she had just heard on the phone. Em didnât stay that way for long as Morgan came back from grabbing a cup of coffee and noticed her stunned state. Derek moved forward and said jokingly, âWell this is a rare sight. Whatâs got you all tongue-tied?â Emily gained her composure and said, âYou wouldnât believe me if I told you?â Now Morganâs interest was piqued and he raised an eyebrow stating, âAlright, try me, girlfriend.â Emily rolled her eyes at his nickname and said, âWell you know how Hotch is out sick today?â Derek nodded and Em continued, âWell I was just on the phone with y/n who is also missingâŚâ Derekâs eyes widened as his brain connected the dots and he froze also. All the strong agent could say was, âNo way,â Em nodded and said, âWell unless I have Hotchâs voice very wrong he just said âwhoâs on the phone sweetheart,â to y/n.â Emily watched as Morganâs eyes danced around for a second before he shook his head. Derek finally said, âAre you sure? What did y/n say?â At this point, Prentiss was smiling with the idea that y/n was seeing Aaron, just for the scandal of it all. She responded, âNot much. She said something came up, and sheâd call me later, and then she hung up. If thatâs not her trying to hide something then I donât know what is.â Morgan let out a whistle and said, âDo you think sheâs at his place or is he at hers?â That had Emily roll her eyes and say, âWell Iâm not going to speculate about that right now. What I am going to do is go tell JJ about this. She will freak out.â Morgan agreed and said, âDo you think Rossi knows.â Prentiss replied, âWell we might just be freaking out. It could be something else you know. I might be reading into this.â Derek leveled a glare at her and Emily laughed, âAlright, youâre right. Listen, we can ask them tomorrow. Now, let me get to JJ and Garcia.â Derek let Emily past him.Â
Once Prentiss was gone, he crossed his arms over his chest. He considered that Aaron was dating y/n and took the concept a bit more seriously than Emily. He wanted to make sure everything was okay with that. Not only for Hotch and y/n but for the team. He knew from his time as a beat cop that interdepartmental relationships could get messy if and when things ended. The team had worked well in taking y/n into the fold and he didnât want to see that ruined for a romance that was technically against the rules. Apart from the team dynamic, Derek was scared for Aaron who had been under some heat from the director. But his concern was more for y/n who was new. If she got caught up in something she could easily be transferred to a small department in West Texas somewhere where prostitution, cattle, and oil are the only things there. Morgan closed his eyes and took a breath and tried to put things in perspective. When he opened his eyes Rossi was looking down at him with a knowing look. The older profiler had heard Emily and JJâs excited conversation in the next room over. Morgan just rolled his eyes. There was nothing for him to do now, so he went back to his desk and got back to work.Â
The rest of the day passed uneventfully for the team and y/n and Aaron. At 3:30 y/n went and picked up Jack and they had dinner in the kitchen while Hotch stayed as far away from them as he could while still keeping up some conversation. Jack was excited about the school play of Peter Pan that was coming up and y/n encouraged him in all things. Aaron couldnât help but smile as he watched y/n and his son talk animately about what the play would entail. y/n opted to spend the night at Aaronâs the evening just in case he needed anything or his fever got way worse. That would also ensure that she could drop Jack off at school before heading to the office. That evening after Jack was in bed y/n attempted to climb in with Aaron but he sat up and said, ây/n if Iâm sick and you sleep with me, then Iâm going to get you sick sweetheart, and I promise you donât want to feel like this.â y/n gave him a small pouty face. Although he looked much better than this morning he was still flushed and warm and he did look tired. y/n didnât want him to worry about her, so she kissed his forehead, got him another towel for him to place on his face, and moved to the couch in the living room. She pulled a pillow and blanket from the closest and settled in for the night. y/n quickly fell asleep not aware of what was coming tomorrow at the office. The fact that Emily had heard what she heard had slipped out of her head as she had spent the rest of the day taking care of Aaron and Jack along with filling out some forms at Hotchâs desk in his home office.Â
The next morning came with soft daylight drifting into the living room where y/n was lying. She was woken by Aaron who ran his hand down her face and gently shook her shoulder. y/n smiled at him and noticed he was in his slacks and another white shirt. She stretched out her arms and legs and asked, âWhat time is it?â Hotch placed his hand on her shoulder and leaned down kissing her before saying, â6:25.â y/n hummed in response. She could feel that he was no longer warm. She could also smell his shaving cream which meant heâd gotten up early and got ready so sheâd have time to use the shower and bathroom. y/n sat up and could also smell coffee. y/n leaned into Aaron and kissed him a bit more fervently, winding her hands into his short hair. When they pulled away he was flushed again and she ran a hand down his strong jaw as she moved to his bathroom. As y/n took a cool shower to wake herself up for the day, she considered just how kind Aaron was to her. The kindness she showed him he showered back on her in equal measure, if not more. Not on the field or in the office of course. There was never any favoritism, but outside of work they were there for each other and it felt so nice to have someone to fall back on on the hard days and someone to celebrate the good ones with.Â
y/n realized that her plan to drop Jack off was infeasible as Hotch had left his car in the Quantico lot yesterday as she drove him home. That meant that they both dropped Jack off and went to work together. This was a fact that wasnât missed by Spencer or JJ who arrived at the office at the same time as them. Aaron moved up to his office like normal to see all that heâd missed while he was gone yesterday. y/n had asked him if it was a good idea for him to go back to work if he was possibly still sick, but he really felt like what he had yesterday was a twenty-four-hour bug, so y/n didnât try and stop him. He mostly likely had a say in the sick day policy and y/n knew that sheâd come in feeling lousy before, so to not be a hypocrite, she didnât say much, just that sheâd be looking out for him in case he started looking bad again. While Aaron went up to his office, y/n moved to her desk and she could feel a strange atmosphere in the air. There was a kind of excitement that she hadnât expected coming back to the bullpen. Emily and Spencer seemed to look at her differently as she waved at them and said, âGood morning! I missed yâall yesterday. Did I miss anything good?â Spencer chuckled and said, âOh yeah, you did. Iâm sure Em will tell you about it later.â y/n smiled, she loved drama, but she didnât realize that she was at the center of this one. She moved to her desk and wrapped up the last file she had been working on at Aaronâs yesterday. When she was finished with that, she moved to the staff room to refresh her coffee. y/n heard Emily and JJ come in behind her laughing and y/n turned around and said, âHey, JJ, Em. Spence said that I missed some drama yesterday. Who was it? Is it Janet and Brandon again?â y/n sounded so excited and the two other agents in the room looked at each other and burst out laughing. y/n tilted her head and said, âWait. Whatâs so funny? Whatâs going on you two?â The slight exasperation in y/nâs voice had Emily laugh even more and then the brunette replied, âWell does, âwhoâs on the phone sweetheartâ sound familiar?âÂ
Once the words were out of Prentissâs mouth y/n flushed deeply. y/n stammered a bit and that had JJ laugh and say, âI knew it! How long have you and Hotch been together?â Emily leaned against the counter and said, âPlease, y/n. Spill the beans.â y/n had to let out a nervous chuckle and couldnât believe that she had forgotten this was coming. y/n looked at her hands for a second and then back at her friends softly saying, âAlmost a year now. We started considering ourselves official last April.â y/nâs statement had her two friends fall silent. Emily looked at y/n with surprise. Prentiss had expected it to be a few months, maybe four or five, but nearly a year was not what sheâd assumed. JJ echoed the surprise and said, âThat long? Where you planning on telling us?â y/n looked at their disappointed faces that had shifted from mirth to confusion and potentially hurt so quickly. y/n gave a small sigh and said honestly, âI never meant to keep it secret for so long. I donât want to hide things from you guys.â Emily responded, âWell this was going on for a pretty long while y/n,â y/n nodded and replied, âI know. I know it has. When we started dating it was pretty soon after Haley. Aaron and I were good with it. But we didnât want drama or blowback from everyone else. Not the team but the other departments. So we decided to just keep it between us for a while. And then I guess we just kind of fell into that pattern. It was nice. It was nice to have something just for us. I love you both. I love the whole team, but we know each other so well and so intimately. This gave us a place to just be us. But you and the whole team have supported me and Aaron so well. Always. And if youâre willing to support us in this too weâd be so happy. I canât believe it took me so long to say something. I have so much to tell you both about us.âÂ
Once y/n used Hotchâs first name in that tone, with such care and softness, JJ and Emily softened immediately. They hadnât seen her look or sound that way before. As y/n spoke her words resonated and Emily stepped forward and asked, âDoes he make you happy? Thatâs whatâs most important to me. Because Iâm sure you make him happy. Heâs a lucky guy that he could get you. But are you happy with him?â y/nâs face broke out into a smile and replied, âIâm happier with Aaron than Iâve ever been before. You have no idea how good he makes me feel.â Hearing this, Prentiss and JJ smiled and moved forward to give y/n a hug. JJ said, âWell then Iâm happy for you. But you better be ready for a lot of questions from us and Penelope over a few bottles of wine, y/n.â y/n smiled and replied, âYou got it!âÂ
While the ladies were chatting, Aaron got to his office and sat down. He, unlike y/n, was aware that he would have to explain things to the team. Or more like a certain member of the team who had shot him a disappointed look once heâd gotten into the office. When Aaron had his laptop out and had answered two of the most pressing emails the knock on the door shifted his attention. Hotch didnât even say, come in, Derek just entered and stood at the door for a second before he closed it behind himself. Hotch looked up at his agent who stepped forward and placed his hands on his hips. Hotch pressed his lips together in a firm line as he extended the greeting, âMorgan.â Derek nodded and said, âHotch.â Derek spent a moment testing out what he wanted to say, but finally just came out with, âWhat are you doing Hotch? What were all those trainings and mandatory workshops on professionalism about if youâre going to get into a relationship with not only the newest agent in the department but the youngest agent in the BAU? Explain the logic of that to me because it feels pretty hypocritical.â Hotch did his best to hold back the sigh he wanted to let out. This type of reaction was the exact reason why Aaron had been hesitant to let the team know in the first place. He understood that he was going against all of the things he had said and tried to demonstrate.Â
However, Aaron truly hadnât meant to fall in love with y/n like he had. Heâd tried to stop the feels at every turn. Hell, when y/n had joined the team he hardly believed in the concept of love anymore with how it had ended with Haley. But slowly, over time, the way Aaron had left about y/n shifted. There was a love there unlike any heâd ever seen before. It wasnât anything dramatic. Not a damsel in distress or that a lust had come over him. It was in the little things y/n did for him and the team. y/n not only looked out for people in small ways but understood that she needed to take care of herself too. She personified not trying to pour from a cup half empty. It was rare to see someone be so aware of what they needed and when they needed to step away. Aaron thought it was very attractive that y/n knew herself so well. At the end of the day when the team asked each other in the elevator what they were doing that night, y/n would always confidently say, âOh you know, _y/f/r/a_. How about yâall?â When y/n quickly realized that Aaron didnât even seem to have any coping strategies apart from staying late in the office, she slowly started inviting him to join her for things she liked that helped her unwind. She never pressured him into anything. She never analyzed his patterns or made comments, and slowly Hotch had started to agree and had relaxed a bit. That was when he first realized his feelings for y/n might be deeper than just a simple affection.Â
Of course, explaining this all to Morgan didnât feel appropriate or practical. It was he and y/nâs relationship and he didnât feel like he had to justify it, although he could see where Derek was coming from. The best Aaron could answer Morganâs question with was, âI didnât intend it to be like this. And you see us in the office. We donât flirt or act any differently than normal. And if what y/n and I have together started to affect how we act on the field then I would end it immediately. You canât judge us on that. And itâs my private affair, Morgan.â The word came out hotter than Hotch intended, but he stood by them. Derek let out a huff and said, âWell itâs not your private affair anymore. Youâre setting up rules that you get to break and we donât? Well, y/n gets to break them too I guess. You might be our superior, but not in this Hotch. If those rules exist then they apply to you as well. And have you thought about y/n? Her role in all of this? Youâre her boss whether youâre in a relationship or not.â Aaron flushed, suddenly angry that Morgan wouldnât think that y/n was in the forefront of his mind at every moment. In every choice, he made going forward. Hotch was about to stand when the door opened again.Â
While Aaron and Morgan were having their argument upstairs, back in the breakroom y/n had honestly asked what sheâd missed, and JJ and Emily had filled her in. Much to y/nâs joy there had been gossip about Janet and Brandon and she listened with rapt attention. While they were laughing about the antics in the department, JJâs phone pinged and she pulled it from her pocket. JJâs face dropped immediately when she read the text and y/n and Emily shifted their demeanor as well. y/n asked, âWhat is it, JJ?â The liaison looked up from her phone and said, âNew case. This one seems urgent. Itâs directly from the DA. A senator's daughter is missing and heâs running for re-election this year. The DA thinks there might be some connection. Iâd better run up and print these files. Em, could you get the rest of the team, and y/n can you tell Hotch?â The two agents nodded and the trio left the break room with determination in their stride. It was fun to talk and chat, but when work needed to get done, they all switched to a serious mood.Â
Derek didnât even need to turn around when someone else stepped into the office. From y/nâs distinct tread, he knew it was her. The exasperation that Morgan had been feeling seemed to slip away as he noticed the way Aaron looked at y/n. y/n stayed quiet. She could sense the tension in the air, and that it might be surrounding her. The silence lingered and Derek realized how Aaron looked at y/n. The look on Hotchâs face was one he hadnât seen in a long time. He looked, happy. Not in a childish âI have a new toy kind of way,â but in a deeply contented and loving way. Morgan dropped his arms and stepped aside, that look on Aaron was enough for him to move aside. y/n stepped forward. She gave Derek a small smile and then looked at Hotch seriously as she said, âWe have a case. An important one it seems. JJ is printing the files and we need you in the briefing room.â Aaron nodded and replied, âOkay. Iâll be there in a minute.â y/n nodded and Derek followed her out of the office, but not before giving Hotch a small nod. Not that he was fully onboard, but he could understand better now how much y/n meant to Aaron. Perhaps not only that, but how y/n had helped change Hotch for the better like she had helped the whole team with that. As the pair moved out of the office and toward the briefing room, Derek looked at y/n and asked, âSo, how have you been?â y/n tucked a strand of her _y/c/h_ behind her ear and said, âIâm okay. Itâs been an interesting day and itâs not even 11:00 yet.â Morgan chuckled and said, âWell, I think it will be okay. Youâre a good person, y/n.â y/n smiled and replied, âThanks, Morgan. Youâre a good friend to me.âÂ
Upstairs, Aaron secured his computer and grabbed a legal pad and pen. He and Rossi moved down the hallway together. Dave, whose suspicion had very much been proven correct jokingly said, âSo, do you get her home by midnight every night?â Hearing Daveâs joke, Hotch froze. He knew Rossi was just being silly. It was part of his charm. Hotch scoffed and replied, âMaybe, maybe not. What about it?â Rossi moved forward, placed a hand on Aaronâs shoulder with a pat, and replied, âWell just let me know if you need a chaperone for your next date.â Aaron could only roll his eyes and say, âYouâre as bad as Morgan, just in the opposite way.â Dave removed his hand and said, âDonât worry about Derek. Heâll come around. I think weâre all just happy for you. Even if we wonât say it yet. Now, letâs get in there.â When Aaron walked in the room he felt like he was in high school for a moment as all eyes turned to him. He stopped in the doorway and flushed for a second. Emily and Penelope threw him grins but when his eyes landed on y/n he came to himself. y/n was giving him that soft smile that said, âEverythingâs going to be alright.â Hotch took a breath knowing that it would be. If not what had they been working toward over the past few months of building a life together? Hotch moved forward, cleared his throat, and said, âThis doesnât seem to be our normal case. So letâs over over the information we have so far together then we can look at the information more closely before having another debrief.Â
The beginning look over the case information and lead so far was full of ideas and notes and the team did what it did best. After a few minutes, everything settled into its routine like always, and only when Hotch looked over at y/n did he feel himself flush a small bit, but it wasnât unpleasant. The case so far, was. It dealt with children and a prominent political figure, so the pressure was on the team to solve this quickly. That on top of the mixed reception for the team to his and y/nâs relationship had Aaron feeling a bit antsy. When it came to looking at the files for a few minutes, Aaron moved to the table. It wasnât a coincidence that the only open chair was next to y/n. Hotch sat down and pulled his chair into the table. He opened his file. y/n, as always, could tell that he was on edge. She took his hand under the table and gave it a soft squeeze. She kept her hand in his, and after a moment, Aaron took both of their hands and set them on the table. Now that the cat was out of the bag it just felt more comfortable that way. y/n took a second to smile at his actions and give his palm another squeeze as her eyes moved back to her file. The cat was out of the bag and Aaron didnât mind or fear it now that it had happened. The BAU was like a family. They supported each other through life and changes including relationships. And with y/n beside him, he knew that they could make it through anything together.
