the fact that so many websites now require you to make an account and sign in to access any portion of them makes me legitimately unhinged
#there's no reason for this except for data harvesting like it makes me SO angry#ffs even medium throws a fit about trying to read FREE articles without signing in#i'm on my old college laptop and have shit internet so pulled up my old itunes and even that wants me to sign in#even though all the music is directly on my hard drive and i am not accessing the store THERE IS NO REASON FOR THIS#and like. who has the time or energy to maintain so many accounts and so much login information?? fuck. that.#aaauuuuuggghhhh i hate what the internet turned into#there is much to hate about the internet of the early 00s but damn if there isn't a lot to miss too jfc
