blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most): Claude Frollo, ladies and gents. I don't know what made the 10-year-old girl that I was when I first read the book fall in love with this character so much, but it worked harder than the devil, man. 14 years later I'm still stanning.

scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped): Esmeralda. PROTECT THE GIRL. (and Disney!Quasimodo </3)

scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave): hmmm... I don't know?? I guess I underappreciated Esmeralda for a looong time, so I'm gonna say she's my scrimblo bimblo.

glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week): Paquette/La Chantefleurie/La Sachette ? She's not a fave but oh boy Hugo really didn't have to go that hard. I remember being devastated the first time I discovered her backstory.

poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave): CLAUDE. FROLLO. The OG problematic fave. 13-year-old!me and 16-year-old!me woobified the shit out of him. I deeply regret that. He's still one of my favourite characters EVER, but of course he's trash. But so well-written. So fascinating. My anti-clerical ass is pleased. My obsession for repressed men is fed. (and i'm sorry but reading that scene where he bites his pillow out of sheer THIRST when you're 13 years old... talk about an awakening)

horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason): Gringoire??? flkjgkf that's the first thing that came to my mind, sorry. Probably Jehan as well.

eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell): .......my heart says Phoebus. But I also have to say Frollo for... quite obvious reasons.
