Summary:

His father wanted a demonic cultivator, so it fell to Jin Guangyao to find one. Jin Guangyao acquires a problem, a headache, and maybe even a friend.

Notes:

The original concept for this one (and its working title for the duration of its existence) was "jgy teaches xy to read." As usual with my simple concepts, it got away from me and ended up only being a little bit about that and mostly just about the relationship between Jin Guangyao and Xue Yang at Jinlintai, which is a thing that fascinates me endlessly. There's a little bit in there about literacy, too. Immense thanks to my intrepid beta @ameliarating for her eternal hard work. I've been writing fanfiction for twenty years and she's been editing me for more than half of them.

I made a poll on twt asking which of the matriarchs is the hottest, and it's been SUPER CLOSE between Saki and Yachie

Hiii, I dunno if you remember me but you inspired me on DA to create my Koopa Sona, Koopa-Kit.

I redesigned her so she fits more of her personality and not just Bowser Jr. inspired

Kit is more burly, actively aggressive and bites back to hostility if you show it first, very much passive if you respect her.

I saw a headcanon about Koopas adoring their manes like Dwarvens admiring their beards. I gave her horns only covered by her mane.

You inspired me a lot to continue just making my goofy OC + Canon stories and I just wanted to share how much you really made me revisit that past I was bullied into forgetting.

As it's also totally valid if you do happen to prefer contact lenses though, you don't have to actually buy those via your optician either - once you have your prescription and have trialled a lens brand you know works for you, there are plenty of much cheaper generics out there that you can brand match online (I use Everclears via VisionDirect in the UK) and then double checked they were safe with my optician next time I had an appt.

can we talk about how literally 64% of people wear glasses, and yet we NEVER see them in movies/tv unless it's on some nerdy or uncool character? why do we adhere to such a weird beauty standard that subconsciously makes us feel bad for,, not being able to see???
