I wonder if this fic is going to be what finally gets me cancelled, considering that I am none of these things.

Me, 11k words later: How did this fic become about generational trauma.
#my writing#i have NO IDEA if I'm being insensitive or not#I'M TRYING MY BEST TO TELL A GOOD STORY#but the story is about the characters and the transness + birth defects are side components#i think the way i wrote kenny is a metaphor for chronic disability#but I'm in kind of a sticky situation because this fic is a comm so I can't really show it to anyone#aaaah whatever I have faith in my ability to handle difficult topics without being insensitive#although the language around Ben being trans isn't 100% perfect#there's a bit where Kenny Realizes™ and goes ''you're my mom'' and then immediately gets embarrassed about his wording#but he's 15 and shocked and been looking for his 'mother' for literally a decade so I think his little faux pas is forgiveable#sorry at this point I'm just rambling because I really want to talk about this fic just in general#and I've been so closed-lipped because it's a comm and now I'm almost done and AAAAAAHHHHH
