maybe! if im being perfectly honest anon my friend and i wrote that au almost 4 years ago so i don't really remember what we decided about the feys powers in it

my friend and i made an ace attorney xmen au and now i’m putting it here edgeworth is a mutant who can feel others’ memories/feelings if they touch him, but his touch is also deadly (or at least thats what von karma told him)

meanwhile phoenix is a normal human lawyer who specializes in mutant cases

sometimes his family would touch his face a little to remind him how much they appreciate him

he wears gloves in this au for obvious reasons and franziska wears gloves in canon so for some time they both wore gloves until someone told them they’re matching and franziska stopped wearing hers out of pettiness

no one knew he was a mutant until state v. edgeworth and then his mutant status was one of the things that got him into hot water in state v. skye (gant specifically tried to use it against him), so after he became chief prosecutor he pushed for workplace protections for mutants

there’s a lot on him and his mutation in this fic, dunno if you read it but i don’t want to repeat what’s in there already so

maya sometimes turns into edgeworth just to mess with nick, but he's used to it and figures it out very fast

except one time he mistakes the real edgeworth for maya

'- okay maya you almost sound like him, are you happy?

- who sounds like who, wright?'

- oh come on drop the act already, we talked about this, maya

- i assure you i am very much myself and not miss fey.

- this is exactly what "miss fey" would say!

trucy keeps making interdimensional pockets all over the WAA. case files and magic props getting sucked in is practically a routine occurance

klavier keeps asking apollo to do some vocals with his chords of steel for his new song. apollo always refuses

honestly i'm not entirely sure how exactly klavier's power works but i think once he's aware of his he can control it

and thus, after klavier performed one of his quieter songs to apollo:

'- was this... your power?

- no. i would never do this to you. it's just me.

/just/ him. like 'just him' isn't enough to drive apollo crazy'

- miles keeps wearing his gloves even after the truth is revealed because he doesn't want to feel the emotions of just anyone who touches him, even though there are approx 1.5 people who are allowed to touch him

- sometimes when phoenix is annoyed with miles he touches him on purpose just so miles could feel how annoyed he is

- miles knows that his father was killed by a gun. he read the report over and over and he saw the bullet but he still has nightmares where he touches his father's hand in that elevator and he sees gregory edgeworth's last memory: his son's terrified face

- (i THINK it's xmen canon that certain mutations can develop later in life and that's definitely the route mvk went: that incident in the elevator was the starting point of edgeworth's "deadly power")

- (because miles definitely touched people when he was a kid lets be real)

You mentioned Maya shapeshifted into a cat in your au so I have a question: Can she turn into the FLUFFIEST cat?? Or does she need to take care of herself to have that much nutrition for a cat with perfect fluff?

ok first of all extremely good question thank you!!!! second of all i think she could if she really tried but considering her diet is 80 percent burgers and 20 percent noodles i think on an average day she has just the regular amounts of fluff. franziska doesn't mind though

I love your AU! As much fun as it is to think about a power for Phoenix, it does seem right for him not to have one, just his luck! I’m interested why you went with shapeshifting for the feys, I know they do that canonically when channeling , but nothing psychic or ghosty? Also is Apollo’s power just being loud lol? I love Trucy’s power, the pocket dimension idea is really good! Looks like there at least one other person interested in this niche intersection of interests!

i actually thought phoenix might have like a minor invincibility/regeneration power he doesn't know about bc the man is literally indestructible but idk. having him be the only one without a power feels more fun

i wanted to make channeling a mutation at first but then the games have so much (inconsistent but still) lore about it, especially the whole thing with khura'in so i went w shapeshifting instead. also i think its more fun to have like this genuine supernatural phenomena in a world filled w naturally superpowered people (does this make sense? i hope so fgffg)

i always thought apollo's chords of steel are an ultrasound thing so technically yeah lol. he's just Very Loud

nd with trucy i wanted something that might help her with her magic but also didn't want to take away the fact that she's an extremely talented magician all by herself frm her. so i'm v glad that you like her power!!!!
