She wanders over to the vanity, looking for the oils and salts Caitlyn had shown her last time she took a bath. The selection is overwhelming. Different scented oils line the shelf, their names foreign in Vi’s mind.

She picks a few up, bringing the glass bottles to her nose.

Honeysuckle, written in fine script, is the first to go. Too sweet.

Eucalyptus is a little closer to what she wants. But not quite. She places the bottle down, the slight clink echoing off the marble.

She brings the last bottle to her nose and her entire body seems to melt in response. Lavender, Vi notes, commits the name to memory. Lavender smells like Caitlyn. Her Caitlyn. She pours a generous amount into the tub, the room already filled with her wife’s scent.
