Siege of Jerusalem Symbolized
1 "And you, son of man, take a tile to yourself, and lay it before you, and portray on it the city Jerusalem. 2 And lay siege against it, and build a fort against it, and cast a mound against it. Also set the camp against it, and set battering rams against it all around. 3 And take an iron griddle to yourself, and set it for a wall of iron between you and the city. And set your face toward it, and it shall be under attack. And you shall set a battle against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel.
4 Also lie on your left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel on it; according to the number of days that you shall lie on it, you shall bear their iniquity. 5 For I have laid on you the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days. So you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Israel. 6 And when you have fulfilled them, lie again on your right side, and you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days; a day for a year; a day for a year, I have set it upon you. 7 And you shall set your face toward the siege of Jerusalem, and your arm shall be uncovered, and you shall prophesy against it. 8 And, behold, I will lay cords on you, and you shall not turn yourself from one side to another until you have ended the days of your siege.
9 Take also to yourself wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentils, and millet, and spelt, and put them in one vessel, and make bread of them for yourself. According to the number of the days that you shall lie on your side, three hundred and ninety days, you shall eat of it. 10 And your food which you shall eat shall be by weight twenty shekels a day; from time to time you shall eat it. 11 You shall also drink water by measure, the sixth part of a hin. From time to time you shall drink. 12 And you shall eat it as barley cakes in their sight, and you shall bake it with dung of the excrement of man." 13 And the LORD said, "Even so shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread among the nations, where I will drive them." 14 Then I said, "Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, my soul has not been defiled. For from my youth up, even till now, I have not eaten of that which dies of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither did there come any unclean flesh into my mouth." 15 Then He said to me, "Lo, I have given you cow's dung for man's dung, and you shall prepare your bread with it." 16 And He said to me, "Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem. And they shall eat bread by weight, and with care. And they shall drink water by measure, and in silence, 17 So that they may lack bread and water, and be appalled with one another, and waste away for their iniquity." — Ezekiel 4 | A Faithful Version (AFV) Holy Bible, A Faithful Version © 2020 A Faithful Version. March 31. Day 177 - Easter
✝️ Israel denied Palestinian Christians — the oldest in the world — access to the old city in Jerusalem
🇫🇷 France to prosecute its citizens serving in IOF for implicated war crimes after video showed French citizen assaulting Palestinian hostages
• 77 Palestinians killed, 108 injured in last 24 hours
🇮🇶 Iraqi group’s drone strikes & damages Israeli naval base in Eilat in southern Palestine, bypassing Jordanian & Israeli air defense to do so (📸 above)
• Another massacre of aid seekers at Kuwaiti roundabout killed 17 & wounded 30. This major aid distribution point now dubbed a “deathtrap”
🏥 Israeli bombing of tents housing displaced Palestinians at al-Aqsa Hospital kills 4, wounds 17 incl. journalist
• IOF abducts 14 in overnight raids in West Bank
🏥 26 patients killed in Israel’s siege of Shifa Hospital. The remaining 107 patients face mass disease spread
🐀 Palestinian Authority President Abbas swears in new unelected gov’t
April 1. Day 178
🏥 IOF withdraws from Shifa Hospital after 2-week siege that completely destroyed the hospital as they set fire to buildings (📸 above). 400+ bodies of Palestinians executed by IOF found, many missing body parts, showing signs of torture
• 63 killed, 94 injured in Gaza in last 24 hours
• Israeli army report admits that IOF executed Palestinians for crossing arbitrary invisible “kill zones” determined by IOF
🇸🇾🇮🇷 Israel strikes & destroys Iranian consulate in Syria, killing 7 in a dangerous regional escalation
• 4 foreign @ wckitchen aid workers (incl. Australian, British & Polish) & their Palestinian translator killed by Israeli targeted bombing of their car while distributing food
• Hamas says the Palestinian Authority & Egyptian officials coordinated w/ Israel to infiltrate Gaza via Rafah crossing as an "intelligence plan" disguised as "distributing aid". PA denies the accusation; 6 PA officers were arrested by Hamas. The PA seeks to administer Gaza post-genocide
April 2. Day 179
• 71 Palestinians killed, 102 injured in Gaza in last 24 hours
• Netanyahu claims yesterday’s attack killing 7 foreign aid workers (🇦🇺, 🇨🇦, 🇬🇧, 🇺🇸, 🇵🇱) was “unintended”. But the workers were in a deconflicted zone, coordinated movement w/ Israel, & were in clearly marked @ wckitchen cars
👆UK & Australia summon Israeli ambassadors, demanding accountability; but US & Canada accept Israel’s excuse that the killing was unintended
🇺🇸 Alarming level of US intelligence sharing w/ Israel since Oct 7 from Gaza surveillance. US unsure of its intel’s contribution to civilian deaths
• Knesset (Israel Parliament) pass bill paving way to ban Al Jazeera, claims it poses threat to international media & freedom of the press
• Multiple aid orgs incl. @ aneraorg & @ wckitchen halt Gaza operations after yesterday’s attack + aid shipment returns to Cyprus w/ 240 tons of undelivered aid. Due to Israel targeting humanitarian workers
• World Bank: Gaza infrastructure damage estimated at $18.5bn
April 3. Day 180
• After 6 months of genocide, Israel has killed 32,975 Palestinians, not including thousands buried under rubble; incl. 14,500 kids, 140 journalists & 484 medical staff. Starvation & disease are expected to kill even more as Israel prevents aid
🇺🇳 UN Human Rights Council to consider draft motion for arms embargo on Israel to halt arms sales
• 30% of children under 2 in Gaza are ‘acutely malnourished’
🇺🇳 UN suspends night aid deliveries in last 48 hours after Israel’s killing of 7 @ wckitchen aid workers
⚖️ The PA attempted to arrest a Palestinian resistance fighter in Tulkarem (West Bank), and later PA forces killed Motassim Al-Arif of Tulkarem Brigades (local resistance group), making him the 7th Palestinian resistance fighter killed by the PA since Oct 7. This sparked Tulkarem brigades to initiate a state of “civil disobedience” in Tulkarem. The attempted arrest of the Hamas leader occurred in Jenin (West Bank) and is another escalation of clashes between the PA and Palestinian resistance groups in the West Bank
🇬🇧 YouGov Poll: 56% UK voters support ban of arms export to Israel
April 4. Day 181
‼️ Gaza death toll surpasses 33,000 not including thousands under rubble
• Israel’s bombing of Gaza is driven by flawed AI software with little human review of the thousands of Palestinians placed on its ‘kill list’. The AI accounts for 5-10 ‘acceptable civilian deaths’ per targeted resistance fighter
[Magz note: This is a part of Israel's various efforts to kill Palestinians / "Hamas" with more efficiency and ease for the IOF. Other examples being robot dogs and high-tech missile launchers and dropping specialized bombs on highly-concentrated "concentration camp" of Gaza. In this case, the machine-learning database is called "Lavender", and 'identifies' targets that 'might' have any connection to Hamas at all, so the IOF directs "dumb bombs" on the targets. The unspoken implications is that the targets' identifications would include potential family members and friends - thus having as many as 37000 target list total for "Hamas", as the dehumanization of Palestinians is to idenitfy them all as inherently "terrorist". ("‘The machine did it coldly’: Israel used AI to identify 37,000 Hamas targets", The Gaurdian article. Article date: April 4, 2024)]
🇮🇷 Israel evacuated several of its embassies abroad, halted deploying combat units & called reservists in response to Iran’s threats of retaliation after Israel killed 7 Iranian personnel in strike on its consulate in Syria. Israel taking Iran’s threat seriously
• Israeli doctor reveals catastrophic conditions for Palestinian captives incl. requiring amputations from being shackled for 24 hours, regularly blindfolded, denied toilet access & surgeries without proper medical care
• IOF strikes homes in ‘safe zone’ Rafah, killing 8+ Palestinians
🇱🇧 2000 acres of Lebanese farmland destroyed by Israeli bombardment
• IOF shot & killed 28-year-old Asad Amr in Jenin in West Bank
April 5. Day 182
• On Palestinian Children’s Day, Israel has killed 14,000+ children in Gaza, 117 in West Bank since Oct 7. 31 kids killed by starvation while 50,000+ are acutely malnourished, 200 kids held captive by Israel & 17,000+ unaccompanied or separated from immediate family
⚖️ Colombia follows Nicaragua in requesting to join South Africa in ICJ genocide case against Israel
🇺🇳 UN Human Rights Council passes non-binding motion urging states to halt arms sales to Israel, citing ICJ ruling; US voted against. First time UNHRC takes a position since Oct 7
• Israel to open Beit Hanoon crossing to north Gaza & Ashdod port temporarily; analysts say it’s inadequate as Gaza subject to ‘catastrophic starvation’ by Israel’s blockade
• After international outrage, Israel dismisses 2 officers & reprimands 3 for attack killing 6 foreign aid workers, but no criminal trials or real accountability
• Israeli sniper kills Palestinian while filming an Israeli raid from his rooftop in West Bank

‘“Now you, son of man, take a brick, place it before you, and draw on it the city of Jerusalem. 🟣 Tuesday - ISRAEL REALTIME - Connecting to Israel in Realtime
( 1 of 2 )
TODAY IS THE FAST OF THE 17th OF TAMMUZ - - the start of a three-week mourning period for the destruction of Jerusalem and the two Holy Temples. On this day the walls of Jerusalem were breached by the Romans, in 69 CE, after a lengthy siege - beginning the slaughter of the population and to the eventual destruction of the Holy Temple three weeks later.
▪️HOUTHIS THREATEN ITALY.. “Tomorrow Italy will say that it did not know that the Israeli fighter jets were about to launch an attack against Yemen, and if it had known, it would have withdrawn from the decision to supply them with fuel in the air. I emphasize that every country that participated in the aggression against Hudaydah should also be concerned, even if it is Italy.” This follows unconfirmed rumors that Italy provided the refueling allowing Israeli jets to reach Yemen and return.
▪️CHAREDI ENLISTMENT.. 35 charedim from the Hesder Yeshiva Barkai in the Golan enlisted in the Air Force today.
▪️SIREN TESTS.. Morsheth, Kornit, Shekhniyya, Manof and in the Mashgav regional center in the Western Galilee - 10:05 through 14:05.
▪️TRYING TO SPREAD GAZA FIGHTING TO JUDEA-SAMARIA.. The IDF says it has recently identified attempts by Gaza based Hamas and Islamic Jihad to ramp up attacks in West Bank, including by funneling money and providing know-how.
▪️WIVES PETITION THE ARMY.. Dozens of women whose husbands have fought in the various sectors since the beginning of the Iron Swords War have signed a petition calling on Chief of Staff to prevent the mixing of men and women on the battlefield. "We were shocked to hear from our husbands about … mixing the sexes while staying together in the field, including overnight stays. The social and cultural climate created by the mixing of soldiers and female soldiers harms the sanctity of the camp, its operations, and our family and marital resilience.”
🔸DEAL NEWS.. the “heads of the security establishment” agree to a deal that includes the withdrawal of troops from Gaza: "The IDF will be able to fully withdraw from the Gaza Strip for 6 weeks - for a hostage deal."
.. This directly contradicts previous statements that the Netzer dividing corridor and the Philadelphi border corridor are key to preventing the re-arming and re-growth of Hamas.
.. “Security officials” repeat and emphasize that Hamas has not been able to strengthen mainly since the IDF took over the Philadelphi axis.
.. Degal HaTorah chairman, MK Moshe Gafni, in a closed conversation with families of hostages - supports the deal at any cost.
🟣🟣 Tuesday - ISRAEL REALTIME - Connecting to Israel in Realtime

▪️AIR TRAVEL.. RyanAir pilots appealed to the management to allow them not to fly to Israel due to the security situation.
▪️NATURE.. Invasion of the Giant Gecko! The Nature and Parks Authority is asking for the help of the residents of the south in locating the gecko, after it was recently also found in Kibbutz Arava, and efforts are being made to reduce its population: "an invasive species whose potential for damage is very great”. The brown gecko is mainly found on the walls of houses and pillars. It likes to climb high and to lighted areas, which attract insects. The gecko is huge, eats anything, reproduces quickly and wipes out other species.
▪️AID EXCESS.. Updated analysis shows aid donations to Gaza provide an average of 3,520 calories per person daily, placing Gaza in the top 30 of 187 countries for food availability. https://x.com/Osint613/status/1815447888933085415/photo/1

The Bitter Struggle of Israel and Palestinians
The Middle East contains a land that is steeped in history, conflict, and aspirations and whose name has reverberated throughout millennia of human civilization. The seemingly unsolvable and entrenched Israel-Palestine issue continues to hold the attention of the entire globe. It is a complex, protracted conflict with wide-ranging effects on not only the local populace but also on international politics and diplomacy.
Early in October 2023, Israel and Hamas, the militant Islamist organization in charge of Gaza since 2006, went to war. Along with murdering and injuring hundreds of soldiers and civilians, Hamas fighters invaded southern Israeli cities and villages across the Gaza Strip border and fired rockets into Israel. They also took scores of hostages. Israel was caught off guard by the strike, but it soon launched a lethal counterattack. The Israeli cabinet officially declared war on Hamas the day after the attack on October 7, and the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) were then given orders by the defense minister to impose a "complete siege" on Gaza. Since then, Israel has ordered the evacuation of over a million Palestinian inhabitants, and the two sides have engaged in regular rocket exchanges.
Beginning around the end of the nineteenth century, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has existed. The partition plan, also known as Resolution 181, was adopted by the UN in 1947 and aimed to create separate Arab and Jewish states inside the British Mandate of Palestine. The State of Israel was established on May 14, 1948, which precipitated the first Arab-Israeli War. Israel won the battle in 1949, but 750,000 Palestinians were forced to flee their homes, and the area was partitioned into the State of Israel, the West Bank (west of the Jordan River), and the Gaza Strip.
Tensions in the region increased during the ensuing years, particularly between Israel and Egypt, Jordan, and Syria. Egypt, Jordan, and Syria signed agreements on mutual defense after the 1956 Suez Crisis and Israel's invasion of the Sinai Peninsula in preparation for a potential Israeli force deployment. Following a series of moves by Egyptian President Abdel Gamal Nasser, Israel launched a preemptive strike against Syrian and Egyptian air defenses in June 1967, igniting the Six-Day War. Following the conflict, Israel seized control of the Golan Heights from Syria, the West Bank and East Jerusalem from Jordan, and the Sinai Peninsula and Gaza Strip from Egypt. Six years later, Egypt and Syria launched a surprise offensive in what is known as the Yom Kippur War or the October War.
President Joe Biden issued a resounding statement of solidarity for Israel on October 7, 2023, following the start of hostilities between Israel and Hamas. The United States announced that it would deliver fresh shipments of armaments and move its Mediterranean Sea warships closer to Israel on the same day that Israel proclaimed war against the terrorist organization. Although the UN Security Council convened an emergency meeting to discuss the recent violence, no common statement was reached. International organizations immediately raised worry for the safety of citizens in Israel and the Palestinian territories as well as those being held captive by terrorists in Gaza, given the history of brutality when Israel and Palestinian extreme groups have engaged in combat in the past.
Although accusations that Iranian intelligence and security personnel personally assisted Hamas in planning its attack on October 7 were not immediately confirmed by the United States, Iran has a long-standing patronage connection with Hamas and other extreme groups throughout the Middle East. Experts have expressed concern that Hezbollah, another extremist group backed by Iran, will be drawn into the conflict, taking it beyond the borders of Israel and Palestine. This concern is in addition to worries that the attacks were a sign from Iran that it is prepared to increase its negative influence in various Middle Eastern conflicts. Reports that the IDF was firing at locations in Lebanon, where Hezbollah is situated, arose on October 9. The goal of the cross-border operation was not made explicit in an Israeli statement on the subject.
The October conflict shattered a 2023 American attempt to assist in mediating a normalization agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia. For many years, Saudi Arabia has fought for the security and rights of Palestinian Arabs living in Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza. These populations, particularly in Gaza, are now in the way of IDF operations, threatening the strides Israel and Saudi Arabia had made toward understanding one another.
Israel's most extreme right-wing and religious administration ever took office in late December 2022. The coalition government is headed by Benjamin 'Bibi' Netanyahu and his Likud party and consists of three far-right parties, including the Religious Zionism party, an ultranationalist group linked to the West Bank settler movement, as well as two ultra-Orthodox groups. Netanyahu made a number of compromises to his far-right partners in order to secure a governing majority. The government's expressed preference for the growth and development of Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank has drawn criticism from opponents. The ruling coalition has also supported discrimination against LGBTQ+ persons based on their religion, and after a delay caused by widespread protests in March, it agreed to reduce judicial control over the government in May 2023.
The year 2022 saw an uptick in conflict between Israelis and Palestinians. A consistent pattern of conflicts in the West Bank, including practically daily Israeli raids, defined the first nine months of 2023. In June 2023, Israel approved 5,000 new settler dwellings, which academics and international organizations believe violate international law because they are located in Palestinian land and neighboring settlements. The Israeli military also intensified its activities, conducting two simultaneous raids on the Al-Aqsa mosque, injuring 35 people during an operation in Ramallah, and launching missiles from a helicopter at the Jenin refugee camp. In May, Israel battled Gazan militants for five days, with nearly two thousand combined missile launches by Hamas and Israeli forces.
The October 2023 conflict between Israel and Hamas marks the most significant escalation of the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict in several decades.

And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation. - Luke 19:41-44 KJV
Here in the Gospel Book of Luke, Jesus Christ has just entered Jerusalem for what would be the final time. The people have welcomed Him and want to make Him king. Needless to say, the leaders are not happy with this and will soon step up their plans to kill Him. It won't be long before Jerusalem will be under siege and Jesus' words will come true. Just as with the prophets, the people have ignored the signs that they needed to change. Not even the Son of God could wake them up in time to save the city from destruction.
To this day, we can see how devastating was the destruction of the temple. We know the story of Masada as well, and how many of the Jewish people were killed. If Jesus walked the earth today, would he weep over us? My guess is that he would. We are not so dissimilar to the people of the past. We, too, ignore signs of destruction of our world. We have spent the last couple of centuries polluting our land, our water supplies and our air. We complain about the increase of cancer, the spread of AIDS, the spread of diseases that never existed before the use of chemicals in our water and food supplies. If we keep on going like this, we won't need marauding armies to overtake us, we'll just self-destruct!
In those areas of the world where they hunger for peace, they also hunger for justice. We have a responsibility to help in any way we can to work for justice in the world as well as to be good stewards of this Earth. Just as the prophets warned the people of Israel and Jesus warned the people of Jerusalem to return to God and His ways, they also warn us. When will we listen?
God has continually warned us to turn to Him and we keep failing to listen. May we seek and pay better attention to Him and His commands, before it's too late!
May we make sure that we give our hearts and lives to God and take time daily to seek and praise Him and share His Truth with the world. May the LORD our God and Father in Heaven help us to stay diligent and obedient and help us to guard our hearts in Him and His Word daily. May He help us to remain faithful and full of excitement to do our duty to Him and for His glorious return and our reunion in Heaven as well as all that awaits us there. May we never forget to thank the LORD our God and our Creator and Father in Heaven for all this and everything He does and has done for us! May we never forget who He is, nor forget who we are in Christ and that God is always with us! What a mighty God we serve! What a Savior this is! What a wonderful Lord, God, Savior and King we have in Jesus Christ! What a loving Father we have found in the Almighty God! What a wonderful God we serve! His will be done!
Thanks and glory be to God! Blessed be the name of the LORD! Hallelujah and Amen!

Was the Temple Destroyed After Jesus’ Death?
The destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem is a pivotal event in biblical history. It not only marked a significant moment in the history of Judaism but also had profound implications for early Christianity. The Temple was the center of Jewish worship and the dwelling place of God’s presence among His people. After the death of Jesus Christ, a series of events unfolded that led to the Temple’s eventual destruction. This article explores the circumstances surrounding this destruction, the historical context, and its significance in the broader narrative of the Bible.
The Importance of the Temple
The Temple in Jerusalem was built by King Solomon in the 10th century B.C. It served as the primary place of worship for the Israelites. The Temple housed the Ark of the Covenant, which represented God’s presence among His people. Over the centuries, the Temple underwent renovations and rebuilding, with the second Temple being completed in 516 B.C. after the Babylonian exile. Herod the Great later expanded and renovated the second Temple, making it a magnificent structure.
The Temple was not just a religious center; it was also a cultural and political symbol for the Jewish people. It represented their identity and relationship with God. The daily sacrifices, festivals, and rituals performed there were central to Jewish life. Because of its significance, the Temple held a special place in the hearts of the Israelites.
Jesus and the Temple
During His ministry, Jesus spoke extensively about the Temple. He referred to it as “My Father’s house” (John 2:16) and predicted its destruction. In the Gospel of Mark, Jesus made a striking prediction:
“Do you see these great buildings? There will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down” (Mark 13:2).
This prediction shocked His disciples. They could not fathom the idea that the Temple, which they considered sacred and inviolable, would be destroyed.
The Death of Jesus
Jesus was crucified around A.D. 30-33, during the Passover festival. His death marked a turning point in history. According to the Gospels, when Jesus died, the veil of the Temple was torn in two from top to bottom (Matthew 27:51). This event symbolized the end of the old covenant and the opening of a new way for people to access God through Jesus Christ. It was a dramatic sign that the sacrificial system centered on the Temple was no longer necessary.
Events Leading to the Destruction of the Temple
After Jesus’ death, the early Christian community began to grow. The apostles preached the resurrection of Jesus and the message of salvation. This caused tension between the Jewish authorities and the followers of Jesus. The apostles continued to visit the Temple for prayer and teaching, but their message began to challenge the established religious order.
Around A.D. 66, tensions between the Romans and the Jewish population escalated into a full-scale rebellion known as the Jewish War. The Jewish people sought to gain independence from Roman rule. The conflict led to a series of violent confrontations, culminating in the siege of Jerusalem.
The Siege of Jerusalem
In A.D. 70, the Roman army, led by General Titus, surrounded Jerusalem. After a lengthy siege, they breached the city walls. The Romans were determined to crush the rebellion and restore order. They entered the city and began to destroy it, including the Temple.
The destruction of the Temple was complete. According to the historian Josephus, who witnessed these events, the Romans set fire to the Temple and dismantled its structures. He wrote:
“The flames took hold of the Temple, and in the height of the flames, the building fell down” (The Jewish War, Book 6, Chapter 4).
This event fulfilled Jesus’ prophecy about the destruction of the Temple.
Historical Context
The destruction of the Temple in A.D. 70 had significant historical implications. It marked the end of the Second Temple period and the beginning of a new phase in Jewish history. Without the Temple, the sacrificial system could not continue. Jewish religious life had to adapt to this new reality.
The Pharisees emerged as the dominant religious group, focusing on the study of the Torah and the development of synagogues as places of worship. This shift laid the foundation for modern Judaism.
For Christians, the destruction of the Temple signified a pivotal moment in God’s plan. It demonstrated that the old covenant was being replaced with a new covenant through Jesus Christ. The early Church began to see itself as the new Temple, with believers becoming the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit.
Theological Significance
The destruction of the Temple carries profound theological significance. It underscores the fulfillment of Jesus’ role as the ultimate sacrifice for sin. The Temple was where sacrifices were offered, but with Jesus’ death, He became the once-and-for-all sacrifice. This fulfilled the sacrificial system and initiated a new way of relating to God.
In Hebrews 10:11-12, it is written:
“And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, He sat down at the right hand of God.”
The tearing of the Temple veil at Jesus’ death symbolizes the new access believers have to God. No longer was a physical building necessary for worship; instead, through faith in Christ, believers could approach God directly.
Prophetic Fulfillment
The destruction of the Temple serves as a fulfillment of biblical prophecy. Jesus’ predictions about the Temple’s destruction were not mere statements; they were prophetic declarations about the coming judgment on Israel for their rejection of Him as the Messiah.
In Matthew 24:1-2, Jesus says:
“You see all these things, do you not? Truly, I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.”
This prophecy was realized within a generation after His death, highlighting the urgency of His message and the seriousness of Israel’s response to Him.
Implications for Early Christianity
For early Christians, the destruction of the Temple also had practical implications. It solidified their identity as a distinct community apart from traditional Judaism. The early Church began to emphasize teachings about Jesus, community fellowship, and the breaking of bread, rather than adherence to the old Temple practices.
The absence of the Temple challenged Christians to understand their faith in a new way. They realized that the Church itself was the body of Christ, a spiritual Temple where God dwells. In Ephesians 2:19-22, Paul writes:
“So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord.”
Conclusion
In summary, the destruction of the Temple after Jesus’ death is a critical event in biblical history. It not only fulfilled Jesus’ prophetic words but also marked a significant shift in the understanding of God’s relationship with humanity. The Temple’s destruction emphasized the completion of the sacrificial system through Jesus and initiated a new covenant based on faith.
The implications of this event resonate through the New Testament and continue to shape Christian theology today. As believers, we are reminded that God does not dwell in physical temples made by human hands, but rather in the hearts of those who believe in Him. Through Jesus, we have direct access to God, marking the end of an old era and the beginning of a new and transformative relationship with our Creator.

Charles Spurgeon's "Morning & Evening" Devotional: October 2nd
Morning
“He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”
Mark 13:1-12
Mark 13:1
They thought that he would be as much pleased with noble architecture as they were; but he looked on the temple with very different eyes. To him nothing was beautiful which was polluted with sin.
Mark 13:2
Our Lord sorrowfully foresaw the total overthrow of the rebellious city, and warned his disciples, so that when the evil day came, they were prepared for it, and were confirmed in their faith in him by the remembrance of his prophecy.
Mark 13:7 , Mark 13:8
And only the beginnings compared with the overwhelming destruction which would sweep over the city of Jerusalem and the nation of the Jews.
Mark 13:9
The various parties among the Jews, however much they warred against each other, would combine against the followers of Jesus, and seek to crush them with all their might.
Mark 13:10
Persecuted they would be, but they would conquer; the Gospel would be proclaimed all over the world, and neither men nor devils could hinder its course.
Mark 13:11
Those whom Jesus calls to be his advocates shall have full instructions from him, and divine help in pleading his cause. This promise has been most faithfully fulfilled, as all the books of martyrs most plainly show. Poor and illiterate men have baffled the learned in controversy, being helped to proclaim the truth without fear.
Mark 13:12
Saddest of all is the betrayal of good men by their own relatives, but this they have had to bear for Jesus’ sake. Ought we not to be able to bear those petty persecutions which in these times are all that the enemy can do against us? Sneers, jests, and slanders are light crosses compared with those which the martyrs carried.
Matthew 24:11-13
Matthew 24:11
Evils never come alone: while the church would be persecuted by those outside of her bounds, it would be disturbed within by heretics, and weakened by want of love and zeal.
Matthew 24:13
This sums it all up. Come what may, if we hold on we shall conquer. Lord, grant us persevering grace.
Let not thy heart despond and say,
How shall I stand the trying day?
He has engaged by firm decree,
That, “as thy day, thy strength shall be.”
Should persecution rage and flame,
Still trust in thy Redeemer’s name;
In fiery trials thou shalt see
That, “as thy day, thy strength shall be.”
Evening
“My words shall not pass away.”
Matthew 24:15-35
Our Lord gave his disciples warning as to the destruction of Jerusalem, so that they might escape from the slaughter.
Matthew 24:15 , Matthew 24:16
This advice the disciples followed, and as soon as the armies surrounded Jerusalem, they escaped to the little mountain of Pella while the inhabitants of Jerusalem were slain by the Romans.
Matthew 24:17 , Matthew 24:18
They were not to linger to save their property, but flee for their lives at once.
Matthew 24:28
So far our Lord spoke of the siege of Jerusalem. After this he referred to the last great day.
Matthew 24:29 , Matthew 24:30
This is the glorious appearing of our Lord at the last. No sun or moon will be needed when he shines forth; his glory will be brighter than the sun in the heavens. He will find the nations still unsaved, and horror will be their portion. If he were to come now, should we have to mourn, or could we meet him in peace?
Matthew 24:31
They shall be saved from the terrible destruction, and as soon as they are removed, wrath shall break forth on the ungodly. Our Lord then returned to speak of. the overthrow of Jerusalem, and gave his disciples warning to watch the signs of the times.
When the gospel race is run,
When the Gentile day is done,
Signs and wonders there shall be
In the heaven, and earth, and sea.
Lo! mid terror and mid tears,
Jesus in the clouds appears,
While the trump’s tremendous blast
Peals, the loudest and the last.
East and west, and south and north,
Speeds each glorious angel forth,
Gathering in with glittering wing
Zion’s saints to Zion’s King.
Man nor angel knows that day;
Heaven and earth shall pass away;
Still shall stand the Saviour’s word,
Deathless as its deathless Lord.

“In February of 1974, Philip K. Dick was home recovering from dental surgery when, he said, he was suddenly touched by the divine. The doorbell rang, and when Dick opened the door he was stunned to see what he described as a “girl with black, black hair and large eyes very lovely and intense” wearing a gold necklace with a Christian fish symbol. She was there to deliver a new batch of medications from the pharmacy. After the door shut, Dick was blinded by a flash of pink light and a series of visions ensued. First came images of abstract paintings, followed by philosophical ideas and then, sophisticated engineering blueprints. Dick believed the pink light was a spiritual force which had unlocked his consciousness, granting him access to esoteric knowledge.
In the following months, the visions continued. Scenes of ancient Rome appeared, superimposed over Dick’s suburban neighborhood. A local playground seemed a Roman prison. Where there was a chain-link fence, Dick saw iron bars, and where there were children playing, he saw weeping Christian martyrs about to be fed to lions. Dick saw pedestrians dressed in Roman military uniforms, stone walls, and iron bars. “I hadn’t gone back in time,” Dick wrote to a friend, “but in a sense Rome had come forward, by insidious and sly degrees, under new names, hidden by the flak talk and phony obscurations, at last into our world again.” Dick supposed time had stopped in 70 A.D., the year the temple of Jerusalem was destroyed by a Roman siege. Everything that happened afterwards was an illusion, and the world was still under Rome’s dominion. Dick believed the Roman Empire was embodied in the tyrannical Nixon administration, and responsible for the assassinations of the Kennedys and Martin Luther King Jr. His own role was that of an undercover Christian revolutionary fighting to overthrow the Empire. That was why the delivery girl had flashed him the fish sign. Some of this information, he claimed, was provided by three-eyed extraterrestrial time travelers who entered his bedroom through a portal of pink light. Dick fictionalized these experiences in his sci-fi novel VALIS.”
A very similar thing happened to me, funny enough.
It was winter of 2016, just 2 long months after Mom died. This was just before my first encounter with the Morehead succubus.
I’d just come home from my evening walk through town.
I had time to close the door back and take a few steps into the kitchen when all of a sudden I was dropped to my knees as I was zapped by a bright golden beam of light on the forehead.
I paused there temporarily paralyzed.
In my minds eye I kept seeing a vision of the eye in the pyramid. Flashing. Over and over.
I don’t remember anything else until I woke up in bed the next morning, wearing different clothes than what I had on before.
Over the next few days my 6th sense began to awaken.
I had visions of infinities on infinities. Cycles beyond end.
The eye in the pyramid vision kept coming back randomly too.
A few days later I started calling myself ‘Vic Ferrari” and would soon be at war with the succubus of Rowan county, but that’s a story for another time.

A Promise of Restoration
This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar. At that time the army of the king of Babylon was besieging Jerusalem, and Jeremiah the prophet was imprisoned in the courtyard of the guard, which was in the palace of the king of Judah.
For Zedekiah king of Judah had imprisoned him, saying: “Why are you prophesying like this? You claim that the LORD says, ‘Behold, I am about to deliver this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will capture it. Zedekiah king of Judah will not escape from the hands of the Chaldeans, but he will surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and will speak with him face to face and see him eye to eye. He will take Zedekiah to Babylon, where he will stay until I attend to him, declares the LORD. If you fight against the Chaldeans, you will not succeed.’ ”
Jeremiah replied, “The word of the LORD came to me, saying: Behold! Hanamel, the son of your uncle Shallum, is coming to you to say, ‘Buy for yourself my field in Anathoth, for you have the right of redemption to buy it.’ Then, as the LORD had said, my cousin Hanamel came to me in the courtyard of the guard and urged me, ‘Please buy my field in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin, for you own the right of inheritance and redemption. Buy it for yourself.’ ”
Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD.
So I bought the field in Anathoth from my cousin Hanamel, and I weighed out seventeen shekels of silver. I signed and sealed the deed, called in witnesses, and weighed out the silver on the scales. Then I took the deed of purchase—the sealed copy with its terms and conditions, as well as the open copy— and I gave this deed to Baruch son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, in the sight of my cousin Hanamel and the witnesses who were signing the purchase agreement and all the Jews sitting in the courtyard of the guard.
In their sight I instructed Baruch, “This is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: Take these deeds—both the sealed copy and the open copy of the deed of purchase—and put them in a clay jar to preserve them for a long time. For this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: Houses, fields, and vineyards will again be bought in this land.”
After I had given the deed of purchase to Baruch son of Neriah, I prayed to the LORD: “Oh, Lord GOD! You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too difficult for You!
You show loving devotion to thousands but lay the iniquity of the fathers into the laps of their children after them, O great and mighty God whose name is the LORD of Hosts, the One great in counsel and mighty in deed, whose eyes are on all the ways of the sons of men, to reward each one according to his ways and according to the fruit of his deeds.
You performed signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, and You do so to this very day, both in Israel and among all mankind. And You have made a name for Yourself, as is the case to this day.
You brought Your people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs and wonders, with a strong hand and an outstretched arm, and with great terror. You gave them this land that You had sworn to give their fathers, a land flowing with milk and honey.
They came in and possessed it, but they did not obey Your voice or walk in Your law. They failed to perform all that You commanded them to do, and so You have brought upon them all this disaster. See how the siege ramps are mounted against the city to capture it. And by sword and famine and plague, the city has been given into the hands of the Chaldeans who are fighting against it. What You have spoken has happened, as You now see!
Yet You, O Lord GOD, have said to me, ‘Buy for yourself the field with silver and call in witnesses, even though the city has been delivered into the hands of the Chaldeans!’ ”
Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah: “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is anything too difficult for Me?
Therefore this is what the LORD says: Behold, I am about to deliver this city into the hands of the Chaldeans and of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, who will capture it. And the Chaldeans who are fighting against this city will come in, set it on fire, and burn it, along with the houses of those who provoked Me to anger by burning incense to Baal on their rooftops and by pouring out drink offerings to other gods.
For the children of Israel and of Judah have done nothing but evil in My sight from their youth; indeed, they have done nothing but provoke Me to anger by the work of their hands, declares the LORD.
For this city has aroused My wrath and fury from the day it was built until now. Therefore I will remove it from My presence because of all the evil the children of Israel and of Judah have done to provoke Me to anger—they, their kings, their officials, their priests and prophets, the men of Judah, and the residents of Jerusalem. They have turned their backs to Me and not their faces. Though I taught them again and again, they would not listen or respond to discipline.
They have placed their abominations in the house that bears My Name, and so have defiled it. They have built the high places of Baal in the Valley of Hinnom to make their sons and daughters pass through the fire to Molech—something I never commanded them, nor had it ever entered My mind, that they should commit such an abomination and cause Judah to sin.
Now therefore, about this city of which you say, ‘It will be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by sword and famine and plague,’ this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: I will surely gather My people from all the lands to which I have banished them in My furious anger and great wrath, and I will return them to this place and make them dwell in safety. They will be My people, and I will be their God. I will give them one heart and one way, so that they will always fear Me for their own good and for the good of their children after them.
I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never turn away from doing good to them, and I will put My fear in their hearts, so that they will never turn away from Me. Yes, I will rejoice in doing them good, and I will faithfully plant them in this land with all My heart and with all My soul.
For this is what the LORD says: Just as I have brought all this great disaster on this people, so I will bring on them all the good I have promised them. And fields will be bought in this land about which you are saying, ‘It is a desolation, without man or beast; it has been delivered into the hands of the Chaldeans.’ Fields will be purchased with silver, and deeds will be signed, sealed, and witnessed in the land of Benjamin, in the areas surrounding Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah—the cities of the hill country, the foothills, and the Negev—because I will restore them from captivity, declares the LORD.” — Jeremiah 32 | The Reader’s Bible (BRB) The Reader’s Bible © 2020 by Bible Hub and Berean.Bible. 20Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘Because you have prayed to Me against Sennacherib king of Assyria, I have heard.’ 21This is the word which the Lord has spoken concerning him:
‘The virgin, the daughter of Zion, Has despised you, laughed you to scorn; The daughter of Jerusalem Has shaken her head behind your back!
22‘Whom have you reproached and blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice, And lifted up your eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel. 23By your messengers you have reproached the Lord, And said: “By the multitude of my chariots I have come up to the height of the mountains, To the limits of Lebanon; I will cut down its tall cedars And its choice cypress trees; I will enter the extremity of its borders, To its fruitful forest. 24I have dug and drunk strange water, And with the soles of my feet I have dried up All the brooks of defense.”
25‘Did you not hear long ago How I made it, From ancient times that I formed it? Now I have brought it to pass, That you should be For crushing fortified cities into heaps of ruins. 26Therefore their inhabitants had little power; They were dismayed and confounded; They were as the grass of the field And the green herb, As the grass on the housetops And grain blighted before it is grown.
27‘But I know your dwelling place, Your going out and your coming in, And your rage against Me. 28Because your rage against Me and your tumult Have come up to My ears, Therefore I will put My hook in your nose And My bridle in your lips, And I will turn you back By the way which you came.
29‘This shall be a sign to you:
‘You shall eat this year such as grows [b]of itself, And in the second year what springs from the same; Also in the third year sow and reap, Plant vineyards and eat the fruit of them. 30And the remnant who have escaped of the house of Judah Shall again take root downward, And bear fruit upward. 31For out of Jerusalem shall go a remnant, And those who escape from Mount Zion. The zeal of the Lord [c]of hosts will do this.’
32“Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the king of Assyria:
‘He shall not come into this city, Nor shoot an arrow there, Nor come before it with shield, Nor build a siege mound against it. 33By the way that he came, By the same shall he return; And he shall not come into this city,’ Says the Lord. 34‘For I will defend this city, to save it For My own sake and for My servant David’s sake.’ ”
Sennacherib’s Defeat and Death
35And it came to pass on a certain night that the [d]angel of the Lord went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses—all dead. 36So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed and went away, returned home, and remained at Nineveh. 37Now it came to pass, as he was worshiping in the temple of Nisroch his god, that his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer struck him down with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. Then Esarhaddon his son reigned in his place.

“SORCERY” DEVIL’S MERCHANDISE
REVELATION 18:23 …for thy MERCHANTS were the great men of the earth; for by thy SORCERIES were all nations DECEIVED.
The word “sorceries” in Strong’s Greek #5331 means “pharmakeia, medication (pharmacy), magic, witchcraft,” and in #5332 means “pharmakeus, a drug that is spell giving potion, a druggist (pharmacist) or poisoner.”
Herewith, God strongly denounces this sorcery, for it deceives the people to turn away from their faith in God.
MALACHI 3:5 And I will come near to you to JUDGMENT… against the SORCERERS… and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.
ACTS 13:6, 8
(6) …they found a certain SORCERER, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus:
(8) But Elymas the SORCERER… withstood them, seeking to TURN AWAY the deputy from the FAITH.
Nonetheless, God guarantees protection to His faithful people against the enemy's sorcery, which casts a deadly spell and a fabricated disease.
MARK 16:17, 18
(17) And these SIGNS shall follow them that BELIEVE; In my name shall they cast out devils…
(18) They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any DEADLY THING, it shall NOT HURT them…
On the other hand, those who trample the law of God will be stroked by these diseases (pandemics), for God will permit these plagues to cleave unto them (Deuteronomy 28:58-61).
God commands His people to count or compute (Strong’s Greek #5585) the numbers of the enemies so as to decrypt their codes.
REVELATION 13:18 …COUNT the NUMBER of the beast… and his number is SIX HUNDRED THREESCORE AND SIX.
6 x 6 x 6 = 216 (21 + 6 = 27)
This refers to the 27 Propositions or Powers of the Papacy prophesied in Revelation 13:1,2, which have been passed to his image (Revelation 13:11,12), the Protestant America, having 27 Amendments (Powers) to its Constitution.
Herewith, the foundation of Illuminati likewise has the number 216.
May (5th month) 1, 1776
1+7+7+6 = 21, 5+1 = 6
Thus, the Papacy (beast) and the Protestant America (image) will conspire to impose a global lockdown through man-made diseases, just as they conducted lockdowns on the COVID-19 outbreak.
On August 14, 2024, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a global health emergency due to an outbreak of MPOX, which is caused by the monkeypox virus. One of the titles of the Pope is Primate of Italy.
M – 13, P – 16, O – 15, X – 24 AUGUST (8th month) 14, 2024
1 x 3 x 1 x 6 x 1 x 5 x 24 = 2160 8 + 1 + 4 + 2 + 0 + 24 = 39 (3 x 9 = 27)
Additionally, this monkeypox virus originates in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
C – 3, O – 15, N – 14, G – 7, O – 15
3 + 1 + 5 + 1 + 4 + 7 + 1 + 5 = 27
Hereby, this man-made disease likewise prompt a global lockdown, as it is a standard Roman Military Operation.
“The Roman general TITUS arrived at JERUSALEM… “his men set to constructing a SIEGE WALL around the city to PREVENT THE PEOPLE of Jerusalem from ESCAPING... “Since such procedures were STANDARD ROMAN MILITARY OPERATIONS...” (NEW COLLEGEVILLE BIBLE COMMENTARY (NEW TESTAMENT) BY DANIEL DURKEN, p. 296)
God placed His appointed time in the First and Second Destructions of Jerusalem, for these will have global repetition in these last days (Luke 19:43, 44).
586 BCE – FIRST Destruction, 70 CE – SECOND Destruction
By using CONCATENATION:
586 + 7 = 5867 (flipped figure of 5786)
The Hebrew year 5786 corresponds to the year 2026 in the Gregorian Calendar, the exact year of Christ’s return.
God exhorts His people to come out of these pagan churches that employs sorceries, for it is plainly a devil’s merchandise, whose fate will be to the lake of fire.
REVELATION 18:2-4
(2) …BABYLON the great is FALLEN… the HABITATION of DEVILS, and the hold of every FOUL SPIRIT…
(3) …and the MERCHANTS of the earth are waxed RICH through the abundance of her DELICACIES.
(4) …COME OUT of her, my people, that ye be NOT PARTAKERS of her SINS, and that ye RECEIVE NOT of her PLAGUES.
REVELATION 21:8 …unbelieving, and the abominable… SORCERERS, and idolaters… shall have their part in the LAKE which BURNETH with FIRE and brimstone…
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

Understanding Luke 21 Jesus' Teachings on Prophecy, Vigilance, and Hope
In Luke 21, Jesus shares profound insights with His disciples, navigating through themes of prophecy, vigilance, and hope. The chapter begins with the poignant story of the widow’s offering (verses 1-4), where Jesus observes a poor widow contributing two small coins to the temple treasury. He contrasts her sacrificial giving with the wealthy, highlighting her profound generosity. Moving forward, Jesus foretells the temple’s destruction (verses 5-6), predicting that not one stone will remain upon another. This leads to His discourse on the signs of the end times (verses 7-19). Jesus warns of false prophets, wars, earthquakes, famines, and pestilences, encouraging believers to remain unafraid despite impending persecution. He then describes the destruction of Jerusalem (verses 20-24), advising those in Judea to flee to the mountains during the city's siege. Jesus emphasizes the ensuing distress and punishment. The coming of the Son of Man is marked by cosmic signs (verses 25-28), with believers urged to stand firm, for their redemption is near. Using the parable of the fig tree (verses 29-33), Jesus illustrates that just as the tree’s budding signals summer, the signs He described signal the nearness of God’s kingdom. Finally, Jesus calls for watchfulness (verses 34-36), advising against dissipation, drunkenness, and life's anxieties. Believers should stay vigilant and pray for strength to escape these events and stand before the Son of Man.

“Terrorist War Criminal Isra-helli Military” Refusers Appeal To “Demented, War Criminal & Genocidal Biden”: “Stop Arming Isra-helli’s War”
Tal Mitnick and Sofia Orr, Who are in Prison for Refusing to Serve in “Terrorist War Criminal Isra-hell’s Military,” are Pleading with Genocidal Biden to Help Stop the War on Gaza.
— Prem Thakker | May 9, 2024
On Municipal Elections Day, activists hold a series of signs at an anti-war protest in the center of Tel Aviv in Habima Square. The signs say "end the siege," "Israelis for Ceasefire" and "Stop the War; Peace is the Only Solution," and one sign shows an image of a Gazan man holding a bloody child after an Israeli airstrike. Tal Mitnick And Sofia Orr — Two Israeli teenagers who are in prison for refusing to serve in the Israel Defense Forces — sent a letter to President Joe Biden, beseeching him to use his power to stop Israel’s war on Gaza, including through placing conditions on military aid.
“Your unconditional support for [Prime Minister Benjamin] Satan-Yahu’s policy of destruction, since the war began, has brought our society to the normalization of carnage and to the trivialization of human lives,” they wrote. “It is American diplomatic and material support that prolonged this war for so long. You are responsible for this, alongside our leaders. But while they’re interested in prolonging the war for political reasons, you have the power to make it stop.”
The teens wrote the letter before reporting to prison for their most recent sentences. They sent it to Biden on Thursday, a day after he confirmed in an interview for the first time that Israel has used U.S. bombs to kill civilians and said that he will not supply Israel with arms if it moves toward a major invasion of Rafah. Biden did not specify what he considers to be a major invasion; Israel already reportedly has troops on the ground in Rafah, which is considered the last refuge for displaced Palestinians in Gaza and which the Israeli military has long been bombing.
The White House’s National Security Council declined to comment.
Mitnick was first sentenced to prison in December for refusing Israel’s mandatory military conscription at age 18. His successive prison terms have added up to 150 days, while Orr has been sentenced to a total of 85 days. The pair are part of Mesarvot, a growing refusenik network within Israel of teenagers and former dissenters supporting each other as they refuse to serve in the Israeli military.
Another teenager in the network, Ben Arad, was sentenced to 20 days last month for refusing, and his sentence has since increased to a cumulative 50 days. “I oppose senseless killing, the policy of intentional starvation and sickness, and the sacrifice of soldiers, civilians, and hostages for a war that cannot and will not achieve its declared objectives and that could escalate into a regional war,” Arad said in April. “For these reasons and more, I refuse to enlist.”
The refuseniks are not alone in their opposition, nor in the treatment they face. Throughout the war, Israelis have taken to the streets of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem to protest the war and Netanyahu’s government. This past week, Israeli police arrested and beat protesters and hostage family members calling for an end to the war, just the latest example of Israelis being punished for voicing dissent or sympathy with the people of Gaza.
While the U.S. paused one shipment of weapons out of concerns over the Rafah operation, the refuseniks are calling for a ceasefire. “Biden’s announcement that he will not deliver offensive weapons to Israel for its Rafah campaign is a positive development, but it is not enough,” a spokesperson for Mesarvot told The Intercept. “By using the leverage of arms transfer, the President can force Israel not only to downscale its Rafah offensive but to actually reach a Hostage/ceasefire deal with Hamas that will end the war. This is within reach and is in the best interest of Israeli society, just as it is in the interest of the Palestinians in Gaza and elsewhere.”
In their letter to Biden, Mitnick and Orr note that they will be watching his next steps from their prison cells, where they are serving time “because we keep on objecting to this war.”
They acknowledge that the president has signaled frustration with Israel’s military campaign in recent weeks, yet they draw a contrast between his rhetorical shifts and the military support the U.S. continues to provide (just a few weeks ago, the U.S. sent another $17 billion to Israel).
“We want to tell you, Mr. Biden, that harsh words and condemnation will not make a change,” the refuseniks wrote. “The only way to make Netanyahu stop is to apply real pressure — and to stop arming Israel’s war.”
The pair argue there is no military solution — that no amount of destruction in Gaza could resurrect those killed on October 7, and that hostages have been freed almost exclusively through negotiation. They appealed to Biden to not just stop the violence that has killed more than 34,000 Palestinians, but to save Israeli society too.
“Mr. Biden, we need your help. Not with weapons delivery but with the conditioning of aid. Not by giving the Israeli government diplomatic backing, but by turning a cold shoulder to its fanaticism,” they wrote. “This might be seen as a harsh action against the Israeli government, but it would be a great service for us, the Israeli citizens, and for the future of all people living in this land.”
