Today I found MULTIPLE bugs that I have no idea what they are and have NEVER seen before and while typically I’ll just search on Google for a while or even go to one of the identification blogs here, I kinda wanna do a fancy display of these and engrave a title piece for it reading “No Idea What These Bitches Are” in the same grandiose style I do my normal displays

I’ve also considered before freezing and putting aside all the bugs I find in the upstairs bathroom, making a frame that looks like a toilet seat and just titling it “Guys I found in my bathroom”

#a lot of displays i do are really nice and either academic looking or antique or just like a rly beatiful decor piece #but i wanna do smt that FEELS like a cousin to that but its more whimsical or jokey.#maybe ill do like. a joke shadow box thats like... bug taxidermy #like whether i sculpt a little human doing it or pin another bug to seem to be doing it #a scene showing the process of ‘stuffing’ and ‘mounting’ bugs as if they were mammals #i think thatd be so fun #ive wanted to do a bioshock sculpture for a while #where its a blue morpho in a dome but eleanor is in there too like theyre both caged #and i found a really great dome while thrifting the other day!!!#so sometime ill special order a blue morpho and get started sculpting eleanor : )#i kinda wanna see if i can fill it w hand sanitizer too to make it seem like theyre both suspended in water #but well see #both bc of obvious lack of sanitizer and not wanting to keep it from ppl that need it #but also bc im not sure if that might compromise the integrity of the butterfly #bc butterflies always look darker and a lil desaturated when wet #and also a blue morphos scales look blue bc of how they reflect light #so it may not really be condusive for a good piece. sadly #i suppose i could make a fake one but... i think itd be best with a real one #yeah do you see how i make relatively short posts then go off to myself in the tags.
