my favorite thing abt manson and perhaps one of his few non shitty qualities was he just really wanted to be famous and was always really honest abt wanting to be on a big label. u have literally no idea how rare that is on underground scenes & it actually worked out that’s so inspiring

#aberdeen spoken word #bands either break up when they start getting any attention #or they won’t admit to their own ambition #or they’re way too locked into a specific style and fitting into that aesthetic to ever be diverse & dynamic enough to go major #and he never shied away from it or rejected it the way kurt did #like he wasn’t conflicted #and it’s that level of honesty and commitment to the reality of oneself that makes me wonder how #ppl think he’s like #a poser or ingenuine or doing it for money #like sure nowadays he definitely is but not initially #like he has always been egotistical and unlikeable even before the abuse cases literally jeffrey dahmered his ass (rightfully)#so I get not Liking him #but like. the lack of artistic respect is so weird to me
