#i checked back thru my priv archives and i first thought of this one in july. had a completely different comp but same concept :3 #big desolate monochrome nothingness in cold harsh winter with one stark streak of red #even silver blends into it but oguggh lilia will keep him safe and warm in his arms #probably the least briar valley-esque bg ive drawn in ages. im obsessed w that place like girl it aint REAL #BUT IT IS. IN MY HEART.#i hafta fill out a bunch of paperwork tn and ask my realtor abt a title company etc etc yada yada i will call my MOM AGAIN !!#also work had holiday TREATS for us and the nice security lady lori who i love chatted w me again!!!!! #pokemon #pokemon ruby and sapphire #hoenn #gen 3 #flygon #aquanutart #i made this in the dead of winter a couple of years ago #after wanting for the whole year to enter the tcg illustration contest but i ended up working on something at the last minute as usual #i don't like competition but i enjoy having a reason to draw a pokemon with a lot of other people #i was waking up early before work to keep making progress on it but i thought i wasn't going to make the deadline #and when i had just decided i had done as much as i could and couldn't get it finished #i went out on that cold snowy day and on that day and that day only for some reason my car wouldn't start #we tried starting it with jumper cables but i'm not sure i know how to use them.. anyway i had to call someone and wait for them to come #i had to call in late to work and then i was waiting for two hours. which was just about enough time for me to keep working on this #i was able to submit it seconds before the deadline the next morning #and it's very cool to me that i was able to participate even though i didn't place (i'm actually glad i didn't place)#(because i would rather it go to someone who worked longer on their entry and/or started earlier before the deadline)#(i just wanted to join everyone in drawing a pokemon but i would prefer for it to just be its own thing and not compared to other pokemon)#this is partly why it's cool to me to have the tcg cards from the contest i also entered!#i chose to draw flygon because gen 3 is one of my favorites and i grew up in the desert and always wanted to imagine pokemon running around #that was the last era of my childhood before i moved and had to grow up where everything was new and different #for 12 years overseas i was homesick for this sun #i'm in a snowier place now but i see the sun even in winter so i'm happy!#since drawing this i appreciate and notice flygon a lot more! i always thought trapinch was very cute #i love the scene in twilight wings final episode when flygon is looking around and scanning; it's so cool #and because of this i got very excited to see flygon in the pokearth documentary flying like a dragonfly #i had wanted to imagine it landing a bit like a bug

Riley sits with the kids to eat pancakes and Nancy and Haruo both turn to them. “Ri, is it true that there are half fish half horses in the water? Nan told me they live in Brindleton Bay and come ashore during full moons.” Haruo says, his eyes wide and Riley glances at their daughter, who blinks innocently at them before grinning. “No, nooboo. But there are so many real and cool local sea creatures here. Such as the long and short fin squid, winter skates, butterfish*, etc.” Riley says, trying to remember from the website they’d checked out on the plane ride to Joe and Aubrey's house. “Wow okay,” Haruo says and he begins to ask Riley a bunch of questions that they answer as best as they can.

Meanwhile, I hadn’t seen Aubrey in a bit so I clicked his photo and saw that he was still at the park. He was sitting next to a fancy looking sim named Yasmin West, and just chilling. I cheated his needs to full because he’d been out there all night and made him come back home.

I hate it here sm

#i have a scheduled phone call with my employment agency person later this afternoon #and i already know i'm going to cry #not because of the phone call per se but just the fact that i have to do business with them in the first place #i don't care if someone else is unemployed or why they are unemployed. it is not my place to judge anyone for not working #but for me myself and i personally? it is so humiliating. the ultimate personal failure #i am so ashamed for not being good enough to have a job #even if i know i'm not being fair on myself bc the reason my contract will not be renewed isn't bc i wasn't doing my job well enoug #it's just that they literally don't have work for me to do when the other person returns 🤷‍♀️#in any case i find it so unfair from the universe that i was working so hard all winter and then the reward i get is full-time unemployment #again!!!!!!!#there's so much more that i could say about this but i don't need y'all to know just how pathetic i really am

so there won't be any "roaming around the campus while looking for spots to sit and read in" or "oh I could sit at that ONE spot and sketch while listening to podcasts" or "I'll just take a walk near the garden area and cb to continue my painting" or "I'll look around in the art lab to feel inspired" or "I'll sit on that one bench that is surrounded by trees and enjoy the sound of wind rustling through the trees or the sight of squirrels jumping around here and there while constantly chattering" anymore???

I'm literally watching my apartment fall apart around me lmao

#the roof is getting to the point where we definitely need to call the landlord now (there's been a crack since we moved in 2018)#it's not leaking but i think it will this winter #the neighbour also has a damaged ceiling still and he took the LL to the LTB over it and it's still not fixed so....#i'm expecting to get renovicted when i mention it finally #i have roaches i have mice i have a hole forming in the kitchen ceiling and water damage from the hot water tank line in the other corner #there's a spot in the bedroom that's decaying because the AC is leaking into the brick wall (the AC is glued into the window)#one of our clothing bars fell out of the wall last week we have to plaster the wall before we can think of rehanging #and i'm unemployed still !!!!! the thought of moving is daunting but the thought of even APPLYING to places is frightening bc of this #not to mention we're paying like 1700 for a 2bed and 1 beds are like 2500 now
