also like the older and more experienced i get the more put off by the "its okay to bully someone if they deserve it" mentality on here. at best it makes you unpleasant and at worst its an abuse tactic used to hurt and intimidate innocent people

man I've been thinking a lot lately about how online culture on here really turns people into such bitter and judgemental people in a way that really isn't seen in people who don't engage in online fandom. I think that's why regularly interacting with people outside your main demographics is important because you gotta remind yourself that the majority of people in the world don't have aggressive opinions about cartoons and video games and shit. sites like tumblr and twitter will kinda train you to be as judgemental and mean to people as possible even if you think you're being reasonable and its just ridiculously unhealthy. its like people get kinda immortalized as high school mean girls well into their 20s and you don't notice how bad it is until you log off and engage with people irl
