the carlos penalty in every way is absolutely unfair. a penalty should be allowed only when the DRIVER or the TEAM is in direct fault for the penalizing situation. i understand the politics of this game, but this is just brute unsportsmanlike conduct from all the teams who refuse to call out fia on their incompetent bullshit. the accident happened because of the track. neither the driver or the team could have foreseen this, and had it not been carlos, it would have been another driver or maybe all the other drivers in the grid who would have suffered the consequence of a track related mistake nobody could control apart from the parties in charge of the maintenance of the track. max literally said carlos couldn't feel his legs after what happened yesterday and the floor of the car was almost torn and broken off. he was lucky his seat didn't split into half like ocon's did.

the season is over and there are a lot of thoughts, even more thots. anyway.
we've got carlos who finished p5, same as last year, equaling his best ever but he got 81,5 more points this year (the 0,5 is from spa). that's huge. especially considering his 6 dnf's, the fact that he was, at least after last race, the driver with the least amount of laps. carlos also won his first race this year, my beloved silverstone, something he was so deserving of and was a long time coming. he got three pole positions, two of those on merit and one because of a grid drop, and managed to snag 9 podiums.
let's just talk about that for a moment. nine podiums. before this year, he had a combined number of 6 podiums, two from mclaren and four from ferrari. he tried his best at all times, and showed what a great team player he is, although i know there are certain people out there who will disagree on that. but the thing is that fact doesn't care about feelings and it's a fact that carlos was a tremendous asset to ferrari this whole season, not only because of his driving but because of his assertiveness and how, even when driving 300 km/h, he manages to strategies both his own race and his teammate's.
this man has shown such growth in his time with the red team. he's a born leader. someone who is calm and collected at all times and can think and react in a crisis or when he's clearly being fucked over by some bad strategy calls. he's someone who dares stand his ground and he gets treated with respect because he knows what he wants, know what he can do and understands what needs to be done. carlos had a wonderful season marred by very few errors and a bunch of bad luck and i can't wait to see him take on 2023.
and then there's lando norris. best of the rest. p7 which is a drop from last year but we didn't even expect top 10 at the start of the season. hasn't gone out in q1 in quali since germany 2019, the only driver outside of the top 3 teams to break the 100+ point barriers, fought the whole season against a pair of drivers who were in a superior car pace-wise yet managed to outscore both of them. that valiant fight almost handed mclaren p4 in the championship fight, but it was not to be. the only driver outside of the top 3 teams, alongside zhou, to get the fastest lap (he even got 2!), the only driver outside of rbr, ferrari and merc to get a podium, the official f1 1,5 champion, teammate vs teammate quali champion. ended the season with 85 more points than his teammate, basically keeping mclaren afloat.
do i need to go on? it's ridiculous that people out there keep on underestimating him when he's one of the most consistent drivers on the grid, with one of the worst cars. his most amazing drive this year was when he was more dead than alive from tonsillitis, and one of his best quali showings was while he had food poisoning in brazil, which just goes to show how much he wants to do well for his team and how much the team means to him (that's not to say that i liked how the doctors and higher-ups allowed him on track).
it's incomprehensible that there are people out there who literally hate him for doing his job, showing how great he is in mid-machinery, and for showing actual personality instead of a run-of-the-mill pr persona. especially since their faves show nothing but love and adoration towards him. it's doesn't matter what driver it is - carlos, lewis, seb, alex, george, yuki, este, max, kevin, daniel and yes, even pierre - they all love him; some even adore him.
he is the future of f1 and he is in great company. and he will prove that once and for all, given the right equipment. i'm optimistic as hell for 2023 and lando norris.

Since Resident Evil is relevant again and Netflix is getting what sounds to be a horrible series from what I’ve read I’ve decided to share my thots on the only Live Action RE material that matters. The films. I will be ranking them here from WORST to BEST in my 100% actually factually opinion.
The Final Chapter (2016): Let’s get this out of the way right now. I Like these movies. They aren’t good, but I enjoyed them for whatever the fuck they were doing. I know this film had a bit of development hell so that’s probably why it’s an absolute dumpster fire. (Also a stunt double lost her arm). Anyway when that picture of Ali Larter dressed as Rev 2 Claire came out I lost my MIND I was so excited for whatever this movie was going to do. Anyway be careful what you wish for because the Rev2 elements awkwardly stapled on to that nightmare, incoherent plot they made in an attempt to end this franchise was just. I don’t even know. The fightscenes looked especially shitty in this movie and Retribution ended so strongly I was so hyped for. That. YET NONE OF THOSE CHARACTERS WERE EVEN HERE. Whatever. Also they killed bootleg Moira in a giant fan. That was disappointing.
Resident Evil (2002): This movie singlehandedly changed the course of the game franchise for the next decade and I respect it for that. However, it looks cheap. I know it came out in 2002 but everything has a weird plasticy look to it. I appreciate it for trying to do something different for video game movies and it did technically succeed. But overall I think this one is kinda boring compared to the rest of them. It doesn’t make me angry like the Final Chapter does, so that’s why it isn’t at the absolute bottom. The only canon character in this film is the train from RE2.
Afterlife (2010): Genuinely struggle to remember what happens in this movie most of the time. Claire is briefly hot and feral I think but only for like 2 minutes but that’s still enough to put it above the first movie. Chris is in it? There’s a weird amount of elements from RE5 and I don’t like that game so I guess that’s why I don’t really vibe with this movie that much. I’m glad K-Mart was in it, though. (Uh. She was in this movie right? I swear she is at the end.) This film is generally a blur. I think Jill cameos too but shes a completely different actress every single time.
Apocalypse (2004): Anyway this movie is horrible attempt at a straight adaptation but Jill’s hot. Sometimes she does cool things. I wish she were allowed to do more cool things. I love how it pretends the mansion incident happened and Jill was there but there’s no further attempts to expand on this whatsoever. They straight up steal the opening from CV which is funny. And it all culminates with a fist fight with Nemesis who turns into a sympathetic character for some reason. Baffling. Profound. Jill Valentine smoking a cigarette is hot. 7/10
Retribution (2012): This movie just goes off the fucking rails plot wise and I’m in love with it. It’s so bad. Rain comes back??? There’s so many clones. Alice gets a deaf clone daughter or something?? Leon, Ada, and Barry are all in this movie and it’s amazing because it makes no goddamn sense AT ALL. Barry has the coolest death in any of these movies hands down. This film is just a collection of baffling ideas that cohesively do not work but independently are all equally amazing. Also this movie ends with a shot of Jill, Ada, Alice, Leon, and Wesker standing on top of the whitehouse swearing to end this once and for all. This gave me huge hopes for the final film with all these characters. And yet. Also, Claire is not in this movie so it does not get the top spot.
Extinction (2007):  I love this movie so much I have a poster of it on my livingroom wall. No, seriously. Once again, terrible piece of cinema. But Ali Larter looks absolutely nothing like babyfaced 19 year old Claire but very seriously introduces herself as such and she’s covered in dirt and wearing aviators and this is where she’s the hottest I’m sorry. A girl very seriously introduces herself as K-Mart. She has a real name but willingly goes by K-Mart. She’s discount Sherry. Which is weird because this franchise already HAD discount Sherry but we get another one now. It’s incredible. I cry laughing every time because it’s so earnest the way she calls herself K-Mart. Carlos dies which is good. This movie is basically bootleg Mad Max Fury Road at parts too. This is when the series started to go completely off the rails and I love it. I love it so much.
