#housecoat: generic term for one piece loungewear#could be a robe or a jacket or a dress but usually a dress#dressing gown or wrapper: lightweight robe you throw on over underwear or pajamas#banyan: the mens equivalent of a dressing gown#bathrobe: thick. absorbant. warm. you wear this when you are wet from the bath.#teagown: a dressing gown but one step nicer. you wouldnt be embarrassed to have friends see you in this#smoking jacket: you have pants under this. the mens equivalent of a teagown#a housecoat i would argue is the modern equivalent of a teagown#im from midatlantic us. but im also weird about clothes
