Good morning babes!! I’m finally awake and I’ll be finishing my drafts in a bit, but I REALLY wanted to knock out some HC’s for drakes main verses that I reallly feel the need to throw down because I really wanted to get across WHY Drake is such an asshole / rude to other people in his Misfits verse because there’s literally a reason why he as an 12 nearly 13 year old is out here disrespecting people and all around has this ‘leave me the fuck alone’ attitude.

𝐒𝐎𝐏𝐇𝐈𝐀 had a smile on her face as she went to take her turn in front of the confessional camera. she adored when she had a chance to talk about herself and even more when she got to vent about her tumultuous life. 

“ what’s good, y’all? i’m sophia rosew— sax. “ (  she let out a heavy breath, rolling her eyes at herself before continuing. ) “ i’m sophia sax and most of y’all know me as a supermodel under CAA and the CEO of 𝐑𝐎𝐒𝐄𝐁𝐔𝐃, an intimates collection made for all shapes and sizes. “

“ i started in the industry when i was... 15 ? i did commercials for department stores like jc penney’s and tj maxx for a few years. but that was nothing. i wanted magazine covers, red carpet photos, paparazzi trying and failing to keep up with my every move. so i’d have my friend who had a car drive me to go-sees that were halfway across the city just for them to say i was too short or too dark. yes, i’m just as confused. “ (  she held up her forearm and turned it for the camera. )  “ at 18, that can take a toll on your mental. my family was supportive, but they were convinced it was just a long phase. they didn’t understand why i was going out of my way for something that was ‘never gonna happen.’ and then, at 19, i got the call from a rep at CAA! it was crazy. when i walked my first show i couldn’t imagine walking for CHANEL in milan fashion week or producing my own show for new york’s. i launched rosebud in september 2018, and it did way better than i originally expected. 𝐀𝐔𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍 was right there with me. ” (  she paused for a moment, reminiscing on her and austin’s early friendship. )

“ we met that summer at a club hosting that neither of us even remember that well. we spent all night talking about work, literally. he complimented my outfit and i couldn’t help but tell him the struggle it was to find the fabric for the top and well.. the rest is history. we were friends for like a year before he asked me to date exclusively, and then in another six months he was taking a knee. i don’t know, sometimes it feels like we moved fast, but i don’t regret marrying him. i love him a lot, he’s like my best friend. launched rosewood cosmetics the next year, and that was a big success. and even when we had scandals and setbacks, austin was there. ” (  she admitted with a slight nod, the joyous demeanor she walked in with had begun to fade. )

“ austin and i work really well together. i’m a lone wolf, i like to do things by myself and work things out alone but he’s shown me that asking for help doesn’t make me weak and neither does saying i don’t understand something. but i’m still working on that. he knows how to be in a team with me but not try and control me, which i’ve always appreciated. ” (  she swallowed the lump that began to form in her throat, trying to think deeply about their problems and why he suggested they come on marriage bootcamp. )

“ i don’t know what the problem is. our relationship has always been strong. we understand that busy schedules doesn’t mean any love is lost. he’s constantly reminding me how much he cares for me. there was a bit of a misunderstanding about wanting kids and when, but we were able to get through most of our disagreements in views. emphasis on most, though.. his family aren’t my biggest fans, but i don’t think that puts too much of a strain on our relationship. but honestly? i think my stature makes him insecure. in the last few months of our marriage, it’s always ‘did you forget you’re married?’ or ‘why are you in his face?’ as if networking isn’t part of my many jobs! and it’s like all this because i put up a fight on taking your last name at first? i took it, and now it’s ‘nobody can tell we’re married’. like this big ass rock on my finger doesn’t tell literally everyone that we’re married. ” (  she pursed her lips and rolled her neck with an attitude, spewing a sassy )  “ hello ! “ (  and standing up before walking out o the confession room. )

Reveling in Richonne

#148: The Defender (9x07-9x12)

So before 9x14, there were more little notable tidbits here and there. Michonne had to defend her stance a lot and go through it. And even though she didn’t seem to have a whole lot of people behind her, I was on her side completely. I could see her perspective loud and clear so you know...

As for 9x07, I like that Siddiq seems to be one of Michonne’s closest confidants because he’s a really good person and because Carl’s the one who brought him to her. Grimes looking out for each other even after they depart. 

Michonne has a moment in 9x07 where she tells Yumiko, “I know what it’s like. To worry about your family. To carry the burden of protecting them. To feel guilt when they suffer.” Everything Michonne is doing and has done is for her family, and not just her immediate family but for the larger community family they’ve built. She wants to do what’s best for all of them. 

Yumiko says they’ll all be fine. And Michonne says, “Because you have to be. I would know.” And she reassures them they’ll find a home. That’s also something Michonne would know since she went from being a lone wolf type to truly finding her home and the family she was meant for.  

We also learn that Maggie left without even saying anything to Michonne which is tough and strange. For some reason the two had a falling out that doesn’t ever quite get explicitly addressed . 

Michonne tells Siddiq she kept her promise to Judith by getting that new group to Hilltop and so now she’s going to go home. And it’s sweet how all of this really was because she heard Judith out and wanted to honor her daughter’s wish. 

Siddiq asks what about her promise to Carl and she says it’s not that simple. And it’s true, after everything she’s been through sometimes the rules change. Just like if Carl or Rick would’ve gone through that Jocelyn stuff they would’ve adjusted too.

Y’all, I don’t even want to address the uncalled for hostility Michonne’s met with when she pulls up to Hilltops gates in 9x08. 🙄 But I will say that Tara needed to turn that attitude all the way down cuz she had me watching like... 

Michonne and Carol have a little exchange and get to talk about the kids which is nice. I’m glad someone acknowledged Michonne as a mother and not just the Head of Security like we’d been seeing. And it makes sense that Carol would be the one to do that. 

I’ve alway wanted Carol and Michonne to have more scenes together since they’re both strong women who have gone through a lot of the same things. So I appreciate that in this moment they at least acknowledge the similarities in their journeys when Carol says, “You and me, we both lost children and we kept going.” 

It’s deep cuz losing a child is the toughest thing to go through and they two of them have seen it happen many times and been personally affected from it. And yet years later these two are still standing cuz they have an immense strength within them. 

(Side note: So the wigs…can we talk about it for a sec? 😬  For Michonne’s wig, I get the idea and I like the idea. But all I gotta say is they are lucky Danai can pull off anything cuz the execution of this wig was not always on point to say the least. Like the taping of the edges to start. 🤦🏽‍♀️ They are in Atlanta! Black hair capital. To have a wig like that...they could have done better. I’m just saying. But again, Danai makes it work cuz she just got it like that.👌 And for Carol’s wig, again the idea and the significance of the longer hair isn’t bad, but still that execution was not the move.🏽)

Later in this episode, Michonne says how she knows she didn’t make easy choices but, “at least they’re alive so they can hate me for it.” I’m still unclear as to what would make the others behave this way towards Michonne. 

Even if she did cut places off, no one ever stopped and said hey I know Michonne used to have the most sound head on her shoulders of us all so maybe if she’s making a drastic decision there’s a valid reason for it. 

People seem to know what Michonne went through, or at least the gist, but still gave no understanding. Michonne’s mantra now is that there’s a whole lot of broken world between the communities so they’ve gotta focus on taking care of their own. And yes would it be nice if they could all just be united? Definitely. That’s what she’d really want. But also right now Michonne’s at a point where she has to do what she has to do for her family, the same way Rick did. 

Rick straight up kicked Carol out of their community in season four to protect his own, so drastic measures have been taken before for the sake of protecting your family.

Michonne really does feel like she’s looking out for the best interests of everyone if they stop traveling so much cuz it would keep everybody a bit safer. Not just Alexandria, everybody. When she tells Siddiq at least their alive to hate me it’s because she genuinely sees her decisions as having kept everybody alive. She didn’t cut things off to punish, dismiss, or divide. It was to protect and save.

So next, it’s interesting cuz my favorite part of 9x09 was in the “previously on” part lol. 

Michonne’s voiceover does a briefing on the past and mentions everything that went down. And she says “We lost friends we loved…my true love.” And y’all, that alone took me out. 😭🙌🏽

I really loved hearing Michonne refer to Rick as her true love, even if it wasn’t within the show. Rick is her true love. It’s just the gospel truth. 💯

And then she says, “But even now, six years later, his hopes for the future live on.” And it’s so sweet cuz she says that over clips of Judith and RJ. They’re Richonne’s legacy. 😊👌🏽

So listen, during 9x09 Negan got out of his cell and if the goal is to redeem him, then having him immediately go into Michonne’s home at night and walk right into Judith’s room ain’t a great start. That’s so creepy and violating. 😖

But I do adore the precious  drawing Judith has above her bed. It’s Rick, Michonne, Carl, RJ, and Judith. The royal family. And it says the truest statement ever on the top, “My family is always with me.” Amen, Judith. 😊🙌🏽

As Negan’s about to hop the gate, Judith stops him with a gun cuz she’s about that life. (Although whoever was supposed to be watching her, while Michonne was away, was def slacking.) 

Then Negan and Judith have this whole little exchange and Judith is quite fearless. 

Negan tells Judith, “You know when your mom and dad - when they locked me up, they told me that I was gonna be good for something.” And I just appreciate hearing Rick and Michonne be referred to as “mom and dad”. 

And I like that he acknowledges the wonderland that Alexandria’s become. Despite Judith’s knack for making her own decisions she does at least know who’s boss when she tells him, “Rules are rules. My mom decides not me.” Which is nice to hear, even if she does let him go afterwards.

Michonne and Daryl also have their first convo post time jump and it’s nice to see them together.

(Side note: I knew they wouldn’t address it or show it but I was very curious as to how the conversation would go when Daryl explains to Michonne why Rick was even in that bridge situation in the first place. Cuz if it was up to Rick…he would’ve been at home with her that day. But Daryl, Maggie, and a fake friend horse unfortunately had other plans.😒)

Michonne tells Daryl that Judith found the new people and vouched for them so she does too and Daryl’s with it. In regards to Paul dying and them bringing him back to Hilltop for closure, Michonne then says, “It’s gonna mean a lot to them. Bringing him back. Burying him.”  You know this speaks to her because she didn’t get that closure with getting to bury Rick.😔

Daryl knows too and sincerely says, “Sorry I couldn’t do that for you.” I appreciate him saying for her specifically, cuz of course he wanted to find Rick for him and everyone else too but he knows that it would have especially meant a lot to Michonne, cuz in losing Rick she lost her soul mate. 

And Michonne looks at him and says, “I’m sorry I couldn’t do that for both of us.” Cuz it’s true these two are the closest people to Rick. It’s his wife and brother and so it is sweet to see them have this moment of understanding more than anyone, what not finding Rick has felt like. 

It’s nice that now Rick has a wife and best friend who still feel the weight of his loss six years later and keep his memory alive. 

Michonne also thanks Daryl for trying to find Rick and “for after” cuz those two went through it big time in between this time jump. 

When they’re confronted by Whisperers at the bridge, I love the shot of Michonne walking with two walkers behind her like her OG days in season three. 

But what’s cooler is that, while the image is reflective of the past, this isn’t the same s3 Michonne. This Michonne has a whole family now and doesn’t just get her strength from the dead, she lives for the living. And slays for the living too.👌🏽

I’m glad Aaron is a real one for at least starting to understand where Michonne is coming from with why she feels these communities need to stay in their own lanes. There’s some sadistic people out there, with Alpha being top of the list, and they know that now.

I’m also here for Judith being a woman of her word. She said she’d shoot next time she sees Negan and that’s what she does. On site.👏🏽

Next time we see Michonne is in 9x12 and she’s confronting these deceptive Alexandrians about the radio stuff. She has to give them a dose of reality when she lets them know this sneaky stuff not only could get people killed, it already is getting people killed. 

She tells them that putting themselves out there when they don’t have to is dangerous but Father G feels like cutting themselves off from their friends is dangerous too. 

Aaron steps up and defends Michonne’s point of view because there are literally masked enemies out there now that confirm exactly what Michonne has been saying. 

And Aaron speaks nothing but facts when he says, “We put Michonne in charge of security for a reason. Her judgement has saved us time and time again.” Thank you Aaron for that dose of solid truth. Louder for the people in the back. Michonne’s judgement stay saving lives. 👌

🏽Siddiq brings up the fair and that Michonne turned it down which upsets the people. But, after seeing how the fair went down, I’ll be honest, the petty in me was like…do 👏🏽y’all 👏 🏽see now 👏🏽that 👏🏽Michonne’s 👏🏽insctinct👏🏽 is 👏🏽always👏🏽 right!? 

They’re lucky she’s not the “told you so” type because she knew the fair could be dangerous and leave them all vulnerable and well, exactly that happened. Yes Michonne is leading with an iron fist and I’m not saying she’s perfect, but they gotta at least understand that sis has a point. A lot of valid points, if you ask me. 

It’s good Michonne is so levelheaded and mature too because a lesser person might’ve been like; you Alexandrians better listen to me...

In Michonne’s first exchange with Negan since the time jump, she shows up to his cell and wants answers as to how he got out and why he came back and what he was planning. 

Negan really is still trying to talk all big like he’s in control and tells her how he was in her house and could’ve killed her and a lot of people but Michonne calls him right out and knows he came back cuz he knew there was nothing out there for him. It’s a read. 💯 This whole scene is a read from Michonne and I’m here for it. 😌

Negan again gets too personal when he tells her, “You’re keeping me in here to remind everyone how merciful the great Rick Grimes was.” Keep that name out your mouth, Negan. 😤 

And then Negan really tries to offer to be some kind of sounding board for her which is low key insane lol. 

I was a little shook that he’d even think Michonne would even consider an offer like that. Sounding board!? Ain’t nothing sound about that man. Being in that cell so long clearly has him not thinking straight. 

When he refers to Michonne as the leader, she says she’s not but both Negan and I were like come on girl, you’s the leader. 😂

He mentions he knows she wrote up some constitution, and it was cuter when Rick referred to it as that. Just saying. And then Michonne sees Judith by the window and is surprised and I was like yes girl, your daughter is buddy-buddy with Negan and we need to nip that in the bud asap.

Michonne then confronts Judith at home. But first she watches as Rick and Michonne’s peaceful prince, RJ, sleeps. Precious. ☺️

Literally everytime they show RJ I just feel like we’ve won the best award. Whenever he’s on screen I’m just like...

Michonne asks why Judith was spying on her and Judith says she wasn’t, she went there to see Negan. Michonne is surprised to learn she’s been talking to him and so she asks why. Judith says she feels sorry for him and Michonne is adamant when she says, “He is not your friend, sweetheart.” It’s the truth.

And then Judith has the tween response of, “Well obviously.” Michonne asks, “So if he’s not your friend then why are you talking to him?” and Judith says, “He listens to me. Not everybody does.”

It’s interesting cuz so much of what a parent does can go unnoticed. Michonne listened to Judith with Connie and Co and personally escorted them to Hilltop to keep her promise to Judith. But sometimes when you’re a kid you don’t see that.

This moment between Michonne and Judith reminds me a bit of Rick and Carl’s exchanges in the past. And in both situations, even when they don’t see eye-to-eye, the love and care they have for each other is always so evident. It’s why they so fiercely protect each other. 

Michonne tells her, “I don’t want you to ever go near him again.” And Judith asks why not so Michonne explains, “There’s a reason that he’s in a cage, Judith. He is a monster.” And I was like...

And then Judith gets passionate when she says, “No he’s not. He’s a human being.” Girl, if you were in that lineup you’d feel different. 😬 Pretty sure that’s a direct quote from Michonne’s mind. 😂 

Michonne clarifies saying, “But he has done monstrous things.  He’s killed people. People I cared about. People your dad cared about. And if we ever let him out it would start all over again.”

Judith counters with, “But mom, he did get out. He’s not like that anymore.” And Michonne says, “I get why you want to believe that. But people don’t really change.” 

And then Judith responds with the deep statement, “You did.” This really resonates with Michonne. And I think this moment resonates with her for a lot of reasons. 

Michonne has changed and evolved a lot over the seasons. Especially from a lone wolf to a valued family member. She also changed leadership styles after going through trauma. So she knows Judith has a point that she changed. And I think it hits her that Judith has noticed these changes within her. 

You can tell it stirs up a lot in her so she pauses and tells Judith to go to her room. And Judith again has the tween response of, “Why?” and Michonne is just honest and says, “Cuz I need a minute.” It’s the healthiest approach to be honest like that and take some time to process all this. 

Again, it’s tough cuz Michonne is expected to balance so much. She’s expected to be hands on as both the Head of Security/Leader and as a mother of two. It makes it difficult to have moments to breathe. So as weighted as she clearly feels in this moment, I’m glad she at least takes a moment to herself to process. 

Michonne has a good heart and a balanced character, so she’s open to hearing people out. And we see that when she has a sweet moment with Aaron where she thanks him and Aaron again reiterates his understanding of where she’s coming from. 

Because she’s willing to be a team player, she tells Aaron that she won’t veto the councils desire to go to the fair. She admits she thinks it’s a terrible idea (and she’s right) but she also cares to value their rights, plus it’s for the Kingdom, which she cares for. 

Aaron says he hopes they don’t regret this and Michonne agrees and unfortunately they all will. 

But at least this moment shows that Michonne is willing to do what the best leaders do which is take a step back every now and then and let people lead themselves. 

As people pack up for the fair they stay on this shot of Michonne alone and sitting very contemplatively. And it’s tough seeing how much she has to endure alone when normally Rick would be right by her side. 

It’s also tough cuz Michonne’s gut feelings are so right so often, so it can’t be easy to know that her people are willingly putting themselves at risk for something she knows will be a mess. But they lived and they learned…well most of them. 🙃

And that’s everything that goes down with Michonne and her family in the events leading up to the meaty Michonne episode we get in 9x14. It’s a tough one but also really significant so you know I’ll break it down. 👌🏽😭

Oh wow that’s a really detailed dream? I enjoyed reading about it! I’m thinking that Lorenz has more of a playful rivalry with Claude than an actual hatred, since FE Facebook talks of him, Dedue and Hubert all being loyal to their lords, but it’d be interesting if he turned on him later on in the story.

(I had only one 3H dream since that last anon, and in mine all that happened was that Claude and Dimitri had a shouting match. I don’t even remember what it was about. le sigh.)

About headcanons - I think I’ll expand a bit on the students we already know, more than the students we don’t. As much as I want to talk about Lysithea, Marianne etc, there’s literally nothing to glean tidbits from, so I’ll hold off from headcanons until we learn something, at least.

…I predict that most of these will end up being friendship-related anyway, haha. Headcanons under the read more:

Edelgard:

- A perfectionist, excelling in all her studies/training/etc from a young age.

- However this led to other people looking up to her, rather than seeing her as an equal - this led to some loneliness growing up.

- She wanted proper friends, not just people who saw her solely as a prospective ruler, but eh. What can you do when you have an certain image to cultivate?

- (spoilers: friendships attained at the monastery later on, and this secretly makes her very happy)

- Edel always looked like a hard person to approach, but really she was just a kind soul underneath

- Siblings: I keep thinking that she might have a half-sibling who tries to usurp her position as heir apparent midway through the game lmao. Other than that though, she seems like the only-child type to me.

- Kids want to BE her, because she’s super cool. This makes Edelgard super mushy inside (she’ll try to deny it), so she has a soft spot for the kids that run up to her in excitement whenever she travels around the Empire

Dimitri:

- I wonder what his tinge of darkness is? Intsys might go for the standard ‘he is forced to follow his bloodthirsty father in committing atrocities in the name of the Church’

- Or perhaps he witnesses something horrific as a child, and is powerless to stop it, leading to immense guilt up to adulthood?

- Or maybe it’s an inherent character trait. Maybe Dimitri was the villain all along 😔 and childhood circumstances exacerbated this villainy.

- Apart from theorising about his darkness, I headcanon that he was a bit of a wild child who mellowed out when he got older and attained more responsibilities. A bit like BotW Link, but more outwardly cheerful/expressive. Chivalrous from the very beginning. A good boi

- I still reeeeally want him and Ingrid to be siblings… If this is the case, then you can bet all your money that Ingrid had the best puppy face as a kid, and got away with everything. Dimitri was blamed for eeeeverything, and Ingrid still teases him about it now

- (they’re the ultimate power-siblings tho. Could kill you easily)

Claude:

- Has a few little sisters - THAT’S how he became so sneaky, lmao

- Actually listened in on the council meetings when he was younger, while pretending that he found them boring. He gained a good grasp of the politics of Fodlan from a young age as a result, and used this to his advantage to gain the upper hand in Alliance discussions (to the chagrin of his fellow nobles). He was always very sharp

- Always enjoyed winding up Dimitri as a kid, since the young prince got comically mad very easily. However, this became more difficult once Dimitri mellowed out and grew into a far milder young man. (Difficult, but not impossible…)

- Tried winding up Edelgard as a kid, too, before very quickly giving up. The heir to the Adrestian Empire knew how to use an axe VERY well from a VERY young age, and she wasn’t afraid to use it.

-Pulled a lot of pranks as a youngster, and still does now. Got away with it before because he was cute, gets away with it now because he’s charismatic (and HOt). Lorenz cries everytime, because he can’t get away with anything, apparently…

Hubert:

- Oh gosh, this man. He’s probably the first student at the monastery to go grey, he worries over Edelgard and the future of her position so much

- Has had the loyal retainer trope down to a T since, well, forever.

- He was always the best at giving Edelgard advice, making her tea, cheering her up etc, so much so that castle maids would ask him for pointers when they wanted to do the same.

Dorothea:

- We know that she’s looked up to Manuela for ages, but consider this: she has Manuela merch.

- And she isn’t afraid to show it.

- A painting of Manuela, beautiful and absolutely massive, hangs in her dorm room, and she refuses to take it down. (To be fair, it’s a beautiful painting)

- AHAHAH but honestly? We already know he accepting she is of everyone, no matter their class, so I’m certain she was the same with her fans at the opera house.

- She always treated them kindly, despite how tired she might have been after that particular performance.

- She managed to attain a stellar reputation as a result - people loooooooved her.

- So it’s a bit of a shock when she goes from the eccentric, lovable people who adore her and who she has connections with at the opera house to the snobby noble NPCs at the monastery, but she does what she’s always done, and kills them with kindness.

- And sass, accordingly.

- And her voice. (She probably has Chords of Steel ✊)

Ferdinand:

- His pride in his family's status has landed him a lot of dislike amongst the other noble families.

- Not that he ever cared, though; as long as his family were thriving, he could care less about what others say

- Diligent in his training since a young age. He has to be, in order to keep up with Edelgard

- ... even if she doesn't notice that he's trying to form a rivalry with her

- (oops)

Bernadetta:

- Spent all social occasions in her room, making no noise and pretending she didn’t exist.

- Depending on her parents’ attitudes, her shy nature either landed her sympathy or scorn. If they scorned her, this would explain why she prefers to practise her hobbies in the comfort of her own room.

- (It would also mean that I would leap into my switch to punch her parents herself)

- Felt much pressure to be conform to the typical self-assured noble role, which was a constant blow to her self esteem - especially because the ‘perfect’ noble, Edelgard, was right there, and easily comparable to her

- I’m pretty sure that she grows into her own throughout the course of the game, but since we’re talking about her past only, I can’t imagine that all the pressures of nobility would be good for her :(

Mercedes:

- MY GOOOOORL

- Why did she leave the Empire as a noble to settle as a commoner in the Kingdom?

- Methinks her family angered the nobles at court, and were forced to flee as a result. They didn’t agree with their methods/ideologies/etc, dared to speak out about it, and were threatened as a result

- It meant that Mercedes lost a lot of privilege and status as a result, but she didn’t mind. She could still heal others, and that was enough.

- She was initially lonely at the mage school before meeting Annette, although she was rather reluctant to admit it. However, the two of them soon became fast friends, and the rest is history

- (I headcanon that she only vaguely remembers Lorenz, which is a sucker punch to his ego lmao)

- Well-liked at court before her family’s fall to disgrace.

- Holds little ill-will towards those noble families that turned on her own - was only disturbed that they were that corrupt in the first place

Felix:

- He and Dimitri had a bit of a personality swap through the years.

- As children, Dimitri was the wild, reckless hooligan, while Felix was the one desperately trying to reign him in, for fear of losing the prince of Faerghus to some tragic accident (i.e. he tried taming a bear) under his watch

- As they grew older, Dimitri became more responsible. Felix, on the other hand, went 'fuck it’ and went absolutely ham. By this I mean that he starts his little challenging rituals

- which lands him in a lot of trouble, sometimes, because as it turns out, challenging a fifty year old senior knight at the tender age of fifteen doesn’t tend to turn out very well

- Dimitri ends up being the one to exasperatedly chase after him.

- Despite his 'lone wolf’ proclamations, the main reason Felix fights alone because he wants to look cool.

- The others (except Ashe) don’t buy this for a second. They haven’t done so in YEARS.

Dedue:

- Dimitri earned Dedue's respect ever since the prince defended one of his younger siblings from a drunkard in the marketplace

- As repayment, he offered to serve as a retainer for a period of time. Ended up being permanent, because his respect for Dimitri grew exponentially the more he spent time with him

- Green fingered. Probably worked wonders with the plants in his hometown.

- Dimitri once asked if he could tend to the palace gardens. Once Dedue realised that it was either him or Felix armed with a scythe, he quickly took up the offer.

- Since then, as well as being a retainer, Dedue often oversees the upkeep of the gardens. It's hard work, but he enjoys it. He makes sure to leave the plants in capable hands before the Blue Lions set off for the monastery

Ashe:

- Ok yes I know that we technically know nothing about Ashe either, but... my boy. I must headcanon him

- Ever since he joined the Blue Lions, Ashe had always been seen as the 'baby' of the group. The little brother. The one to look out for.

- It's just his face, y'know? Gotta protect that smile. Even Felix has a soft spot for him

- It exasperated Ashe to no end, because he KNEW he was capable enough to hold his own. He was just... short, okay??

- (His protests don't stop the rest of the Blue Lions affectionately doting on him. Currently, it's become a bit of a running gag between the members)

- Ashe, fists clenched: fight me!

- The rest of the Blue Lions, shaking their heads, drawing lances and mouthing softly: do not

- They all know he's capable, really, but it's always been funny to wind him up like this, so they all continue to do so.

- Everyone else knows that fighting Ashe is futile. You try and duel him, and suddenly there's a gang of 8 absolute b e a s t s tearing you to shreds. It's not fun

- Seeing as he doesn't have a crest, Ashe is probably a commoner.

- How did he end up with the Blue Lions? Either his own skill at the time, or him having a lot of potential, or both. I'm leaning towards the latter

Lorenz:

- Has horribly embarrassing anecdotes from his time at the mage school, which is why he is half thankful that Mercedes doesn't remember most of his blunders

- Annette remembers all of them, however.

- All of them.

- She uses these stories as blackmail material.

- Has always had a playful rivalry with Claude, but ultimately respects him. They play up their rivalry sometimes around the other nobles in the Alliance, just to create confusion

- Has an older sister who is infinitely more stylish and romantically successful than him. It pains him to even think about her success compared to his

- (doesn't stop him from knocking on her door for advice, though)

Hilda:

- Canonically spoilt by her father and older brother, yes. However, if you touch her family, and she will k i l l you

- s l o w l y

- so don't even think about it.

- Goes shopping and uses her poor brother as a shopping basket. The boy's groaning after five minutes. She smiles and adds more clothes onto his arm

- Her family can't resist her pleas... which caused quite a few petty squabbles. Imagine being Hilda's brother and getting a mug for Christmas, while you watch her get the cutest lil puppy, or something

- Despite this, she genuinely would do anything for her family. (even poison for them, if it came down to it...)

Raphael:

- His parents were killed in an accident, but for a long time Raphael felt guilty for not being able to do anything to save them, especially since he was so strong in the first place.

- What's the use of all his strength if he can't even protect his loved ones properly?

- Eventually, he pulls himself out of his slump. It takes a long time, but he realises that there's nothing he can do now except move forward and use his strength to protect those still living

- which is what he does! He gets Stronger, and uses his strength to protect his house.

- the others all admire how optimistic he is. His energy has always been infectious, and always draws out laughter from even the most despondent of people

- however, his constant training has always brought about shortages of training dummies for the Deer. Sometimes they go out to train, but there's just ... straw, in a heap on the floor.

First Contact

This is a fic for the podcast Wolf 359 because there is not NEAR enough content for it, and these characters deserve to be happy!

"Hello Dear Listeners, today's topic on the Hellship Enterprise Podcast is bitching and moaning. Something very under appreciated in my opinion. I mean, people should be able to gripe about minor inconveniences to their heart's content! At least it distracts from the bigger problemse in life like war or starvation. But I'm not here to talk about the big things, am I? Nope, so if you're listening, I hope your prepared for an undetermined amount of time of hearing me do nothing but complain." He leaned back, resting his hands behind his head as he felt himself float upwards, weightless in the small comms room.

"Really Eiffel?" Hera asked, her voice drenched in sarcasm.

"Hey, if anyone has a right to bitch it's me! I was taken from my shitty but otherwise pretty comfortable life to sit up here in space on this death trap! And I've been rocketed out into space twice now, who knows how many more times that'll happen, and Dr. Frankenstein injected me with a death virus, so I think I'll continue with our scheduled programming of The Bitching Hour." When Hera didn't respond, he nodded and moved towards the receiver, "Thank you." When she still didn't answer he sighed, running a hand through his messy hair. "I'm sorry for snapping Hera, I'm just so fed up, and I need to get stuff off my chest."

"Why don't you just t-talk to m-me?" she asked, a slight glitch in her voice. Eiffel shrugged, "I don't know, it's just easier when you don't really know if anyone's listening. And I don't really want to burden you."

"E-Eiffel you're my friend, not a burden. Just tell me."

"It's real stupid."

"So is a lot of the things you complain about. Besides you said it yourself, sometimes you just need to bitch about the little things."

Eiffel took a deep breath. He'd usually just broadcast his feelings into dead space after making sure none of the crew was eavesdropping, or just burry them down all together. He knew he was more than a little bit of a screw up so he didn't want to bother the others with his personal problems, but this one in particular was so minor compared to the others he figured he could share. Just this once.

"Alright. I guess."

"So?"

"It's just- I miss having a lot of physical contact. I mean, you have no idea how bad I wish you had a tangible form so I could give you a hug."

"Maybe you could describe it to me. Tell me what it feels like."

"Sure thing Hera. It's warm. When it's with someone you really like, neither of you let go for the longest time and you just... hold one another. You just feel so close to each other, and you just feel so loved. Like everything will be okay." He huffed out a short laugh, "We could both use one of those after everything."

"It sounds nice. You know I would give you a hug if I could, but the most I can do is turn the heat up a little above normal for you." When it got warmer in the comms room, Eiffel smiled, then began to chuckle. "Oh Hera, I love you."

"I love you too Eiffel." There was a pause, and then, "Why don't you reach out to Minkowski or Lovelace? I'm sure they'd understand and be more than willing to show you more affection."

Eiffel's voice rose in pitch as he spoke, "Are you kidding? I could never do that!"

"Why?"

"Well for one do you even know who you're talking about? The two most badass people in the world who are in charge of this ship, and you tell me to ask them to 'give me a hug because I feel a little lonely'? Are you insane? I could never do that! And besides, do you know how embarrassing it is? I mean it took so much courage to tell you, and you're my best friend! I can't do it I think I'd quite literally die of embarrassment."

"Oho Eiffel, it's really not as big of a deal as you're making it out to be." Eiffel rolled his eyes, making sure she saw it in her monitor, "No, you're downplaying it trying to get me to downplay it so that I'll go talk to them and I can't do it!"

"It's okay Eiffel, you don't have to. But I think things will start going your way." Eiffel gave a gentle smile and drifted over to one of her sensors and pressed up against the wall, giving her a makeshift hug. "Thanks Hera." ~~~~ The next morning when Eiffel was making himself a cup of warm seaweed water, the last thing he expected was for Minkowski to walk up behind him and place a gentle hand on his back. "Morning Eiffel," she greeted with a warm smile, and it took him a moment to gather his senses.

"Er, hey Commander. You, uh, you feeling okay?"

She nodded, pouring her own cup of the coffee substitute. "Yeah why?" she asked. Eiffel shook his head. "Never mind, it's nothing." He thought it was a bit odd that she had patted his back the day after his talk with Hera, but he decided not to dwell on it. I mean, she'll sometimes give him a pat on the shoulder when hanging out or a lingering touch, but he did think it was a little strange.

When they settled in for a game night, Eiffel was taken aback when Lovelace told him to sit in the middle of the couch, sandwiched between her and Minkowski.

Something was definitely up. He just knew it. But he didn't really want to stop it just yet. It's been years since he got to really hug someone or curl into the side of a friend. Hell he'd be content if they just held his hand for a bit. He longed for comfort, to be close to someone, but didn't know how to ask for it. So he just sat there between them, content in watching Lovelace completely bomb at charades. ~~~~ A month passed and Eiffel was the happiest he'd been in months, probably even years. He felt closer to his friends than ever and he found himself in the comms room gushing to Hera.

"I don't know what it is, but I think Minkowski and Lovelace have both warmed up to me a lot. I mean, they both do their best to be patient when I screw up and not call me names. I feel closer to them, y'know?"

"That's great E-Eiffel!"

"And yet I can't shake the feeling that you had something to do with it," he said with a smirk, pointing his finger at the ceiling.

"Whaaaaat? Nooo, where did you come up with something like that?" Sometimes Hera was a terrible liar.

"You're lucky things worked out," he chastised playfully, knowing that the attitude shift was due to her.

"I knew they would." Eiffel shook his head fondly at her, "Guess I better watch what secrets I tell you. Don't want you spilling any of my beans to the Commander."

"What kind of beans are we talking?" a third voice sounded from the doorway. Eiffel jumped and spun around abruptly, relaxing at the sight of the Captain. "Lovelace, what can I do for you?"

She let go of the door frame, allowing herself to drift in. "Oh nothing. I'm just bored, so I came to the most entertaining person on the ship." Eiffel put a hand over his heart and batted his eyelashes excessively. "Aw you think I'm the funnest one here?" She rolled her eyes and shoved him gently, "Don't flatter yourself too much, there's not exactly a wide variety to choose from," she said, trying her best to suppress her smile but ultimately failing. Eiffel gave her a smile of his own, "Even if we were still on earth, I'd be the most fun person you know."

She looked at him from the corner of her eye, not verbally confirming that what he said was true, but not actively denying it. She didn't have to.

"Well since I'm so fun and cool, would you like to do a broadcast with me?" She was slightly taken aback by the question, but answered, "Uh, sure?"

Eiffel smiled wide, "Great!" He spun in the air towards the comms panel, and grabbed the mic. "Hello Dear Listeners! Do I have a treat in store for you, because today we are joined by our very own Captain Isabell Lovelace! Say hi Captain." Lovelace shook her head fondly, a bit embarrassed by how big a deal he was making it out to be when she was pretty sure no one would ever hear this.

"Hello. So what do you usually say or do when you record these?" she asked, curious to know what he sends out into deep space. Eiffel shrugged, "I usually just talk about stuff that happens on the ship. Sometimes I talk about home. And sometimes I just make shit up off the top of my head. And other times I just geek out about my favorite things or-" he cut himself off.

Lovelace was intrigued now. "Or what?" she asked. He looked at her sheepishly, "Or I talk about you guys." Okay she was definitely interested. "Like what?"

"Oh no, that's between me and my Dear Listeners. Don't worry, all good things though!" He made sure to assure her, then mumbled under his breath, "Mostly." She tilted her head, "What was that?"

"Nothing!" he said, trying to cover for himself. She only raised an eyebrow at him, smirking, "Uh huh." He cleared his throat before continuing.

"Because we have a special guest joining us, I thought maybe we can do something special."

"Like what?" Hera piped up. Eiffel paused, thinking for a moment, "Uuuuuuuuuh, I don't know. Lovelace, you have any ideas?" He kicked back, resting his arms behind his head as the mic floated above him. She rolled her eyes, "What kind of host makes their guest come up with the ideas?"

He peeked one eye open at her and grinned, "Me."

"You're ridiculous," she poked his side to emphasize her words, but what she didn't expect was for him to let out a yelp and curl into a tight ball. A wide grin stretched over her face as she pieced it all together. "Eiffel, are you-"

"No."

"You don't even know what I was going to ask!"

"Yes I do and the answer is no I'm not!"

"That's exactly what someone who's ticklish would say. Why didn't you tell me?"

"Because I- just because!" She found this all extremely amusing. "That's not an answer."

While they were talking, Eiffel didn't seem to realize the closing distance between the two of them until he felt a hand squeeze his side, causing him to let out a short laugh.

"How about you make it easier on yourself and tell me your worst spots, and I'll consider going easy on you," she said, cutting him a deal that was very generous in her eyes. To Eiffel, it did not.

"No!" She let out an exaggerated sigh, "Your funeral." She didn't give him a chance to react before she pounced, and Eiffel's fate was sealed. She immediately set to work, skittering her fingers over any place she could. He tried his best to escape, but it was no use. Instead he just let himself succumb to the unbearable sensation rather than waste his energy. She reached a hand up and scratched the base of his neck behind his ears, and neither of them expected the high pitched, bubbly giggles that fell from his lips.

"Aw Eiffel, is this a bad spot? 'Cause it seems like it's a bad spot," she teased, scratching right behind his ear and making him squeal and scrunch up his neck. She decided to switch spots to give him a break and worked her way down, shoving her hands underneath his arms. Eiffel hugged his arms tight against his chest to try and protect himself, but it didn't work too well seeing as he was still laughing. "Which is worse? Here, or here?" she asked, alternating between under his arms and his ribs, effectively leaving him in stitches. "Shuhuhut uhup! You're mahaking it worse!"

She nodded thoughtfully, "Good to know." She then formed her hand into a claw and lowered it onto his belly, vibrating into the muscle. He let out a loud scream before falling back into frantic laughter, curling into a ball to try and stop her evil fingers. They both were laughing, though Lovelace wasn't near as loud as Eiffel was, for obvious reasons. Neither of them have had this much fun in ages, and the laughter was welcomed. Truth be told, Eiffel was slightly grateful. He missed being this close to someone, and missed being this happy.

"Is everyone okay, I heard screaming!" Minkowski yelled, bursting into the comms room. She didn't know what she had been expecting, but it wasn't... this. Still, she couldn't help but smile at what she saw and leaned against the doorway. It took a second before Lovelace noticed her presence. "Oh, hi Commander! You'll never guess what I just learned," she spoke nonchalantly, as though she wasn't tormenting Eiffel. He, on the other hand, was not so calm.

"Commander! Hehehelp me!" he pleaded through his laughter. She rolled her eyes, but nevertheless came to the rescue, "As much as I'd like to join the fun I think you should let up. I'm not sure he's supposed to be that color," she said smirking, remarking on the crimson shade his face had become. Lovelace complied, but not before giving him one last poke, letting him recover. He was grateful, "Thanks Commander. She was to-" he was interrupted by a loud hiccup and shot them both a playful glare when they laughed. "Torturing me."

"Oh I'm sure it wasn't that bad," Minkowski said, flashing Lovelace a wink, to which she replied with a silent thumbs up. "But now I know how to make you follow orders," she said, flashing him a grin. "Now both of you, get back to work."

"Yes Commander," he said, a large smile still stretched across his face. ~~~~ A few days later Eiffel was floating around Minkowski as she tried to work. He wouldn't leave her alone, claiming he had nothing else to do. She did her best to tune him out, but it was quite difficult, and it didn't help that she herself wanted to discard the task at hand. With a huffed out breath, she pushed herself away from the control panel and turned towards Eiffel.

"Hera, you have controls, got it?" she asked, waiting for confirmation. "Yes Commander."

"Good. Eiffel, now that you have my attention, what is so damn important?" she asked, catching him off guard.

"Oh, um, I was bored and wanted to hang out," he explained, already feeling nervous giddiness build up inside him. She tilted her head, "Well lucky for you I think I know the perfect way to entertain you." Eiffel backed up slowly, a few chuckles already leaving his lips, "Now Commander, wait a sec," he started, but he knew what was about to happen. And when Lovelace heard loud laughter ringing throughout the ship, well, she figured they'd all have to get used to the sound.

My incoherent thoughts after watching TLJ a second time

PREPARE THYSELVES I AM FEELING A BIT TALKATIVE

Okay, first off the bat, I’m going to try and list the call-back moments that weren’t as obvious and may or may not have been on purpose. 

The bombs in Paige Tico’s ship? Straight out of the Blue Shadow Virus arc on TCW.

Uh...part of Phasma’s helmet coming off after a strike? Haven’t we seen that before? (OH GOD MY HEART)

The entire Kylo Ren TIE scene. (I’ll try spinning! That’s a good trick! “Follow my lead.”)

Luke BRUSHING OFF HIS DAMN CLOAK LIKE HIS FOREFATHERS BEFORE HIM?

Obviously the elevator scene with Kylo and Rey harkening back to ROTJ. (What is with this entire universe and elevators? honestly) And a lot of the throne room scene, as well.

Follow the spooky wolf animal to safety?

Okay, the whole Canto Bight scene. I LOVE that sequence. Canto Bight is kind of like an inverse Tatooine. Instead of being a wretched hive of scum and villainy, it’s a fancy hive of high-class scum and villainy. And did the Fathier race (space horses) not remind you a bit of a certain pod-racing sequence? 

Okay, that was the fun part. (I’m sure I’m missing some but it’s late and whatevs) and now Luke. Ohhhhh Luke. 

Rian Johnson did his homework. Luke’s whole reaction to the Jedi - Rian took into account the whole history - the Prequels, TCW, Rebels, the OT - and that all led to Luke sequestering himself on a remote island. In many ways, everything that came before the sequels was yes, the story of the Skywalker family, but also the story of the downfall of the Jedi Order. Luke says it himself when he says (I’m paraphrasing) that it was vanity of the Jedi to believe that if the Jedi went extinct, the Light (side of the Force) would be lost. I LOVE that line. I’m a hardcore Jedi defender, and yet he has it right. 

But let’s step back here for a moment. Imagine you are Luke after ROTJ. You’ve defeated the big bad, this Palpatine guy (and remember, Luke probably only finds out about Sidious’s rise to power later). You’ve turned your evil dad back to the Light as he made one last heroic sacrifice. You are literally the last (semi)trained Jedi in the universe. 

It’s a little lonely out there for Luke, especially for someone with his power. And he KNOWS his lineage, how that could go wrong.

So what does he do? Who does he consult? I mean, I guess he could ask ghost-dad, ghost-uncle, and creepy ghost-grandfather troll dude. But they are all from the old Jedi line, even Anakin. And something tells me they weren’t hanging around all that much. So Luke goes and consults some old Jedi texts, tries to rebuild the Jedi in the way that Anakin, and Yoda, and Obi-wan would have wanted him to. 

And it fails disastrously. Because the Jedi of that time failed disastrously, and Luke was just repeating all their mistakes. (I mean, we don’t know anything about this academy, so this is my speculation as to how he got to where he was on Ach-to).

Of course, I can’t move forward without speaking about the Ben Solo almost-murder scene. Yes, maybe out of character. Maybe not. So Luke is half-assing this Jedi Academy thing because he feels it’s the right thing to do (not that Luke is incapable, but he didn’t have any formal Jedi training like Anakin or Obi-wan, and grew up on a backwater desert planet with what was probably not your typical educational system). AND, as an educator myself, let’s just say that DOING something well and TEACHING something well are two very different skills.

So Snoke is hiding out in Hondo Ohnaka’s old stronghold gathering his Forces and doing a spooky brain connecting thing with Kylo, corrupting him. (Okay, one part of the sentence is false and I won’t get into some of the other reasons Kylo turned due to his family and lineage and expectations because that’s been done to death.) 

Luke’s probably a little overwhelmed and he’s been through some things, you know, with the dark side and his family and maybe feels a little self-conscious about this. And THEN let us not forget that BOTH Obi-wan and Yoda urged Luke to just outright kill Vader because he was evil. (I will come back to this point later.) So this idea of killing evil has already been implanted in Luke’s mind, even though he resisted it the first time. 

But now? He’s older, he’s doing what he thinks is the correct Jedi way, and he knows that something is off with Ben Solo. And then he reaches out and there it is, his father all over again. And perhaps there are those voices of his mentors, telling him to kill. Would it happen again? Did he have the strength to fight the same battle again and again? 

It’s Luke, though, so of course, it was only a half-second slip. 

It was enough from Ben Solo/Kylo (and let’s also not forget that Ben was so dark at that point that his first reaction was to fight Luke and go on a killing spree.)

So Luke is guilty as hell and retreats. He realizes the faults of the Jedi Order, their mindset, their hypocrisy, and cuts himself off from the Force. 

Here is what is interesting to me. You know who else thought the Jedi Order was full of hypocrites who couldn’t see beyond the Code?

Dooku.

But what did Dooku do? Join the Sith. (And look, I love Dooku as a character, but let’s be real here.)

What did Luke do? Isolate himself so he wouldn’t be a danger to others. And that, my friends, is a very Luke thing to do. 

And in the end, when it came to fight (as many others have pointed out) - Luke never fought. Not really. He looked great with his father’s lightsaber, but never swung it at Kylo, just danced around. And oh yeah, he was a projection the entire time. The ultimate pacifist fighting (Satine Kryze would be so proud and offended at the oxymoron). 

And the Jedi? Maybe that one Moff was right. They, in some ways, are an ancient religion, with all the issues that come with trying to preserve centuries-old social mores in a contemporary society. Obi-wan and Anakin/Vader’s fights were done in the context of the old. And Luke was that bridge between the old and the new (which we see in Rey and Kylo Ren and stable kid). 

Off topic from the Jedi for a minute, but one of the things I loved about the Ach-to montage of green milk and large harpooning is that it showed Luke being Tatooine Luke - just in a different environment. You know he had to do similar things on Tatooine, and he just adjusted back to his farmstead life, to some degree. And his humor is not lost. Perhaps a little more wizened, but that happens to all of us as we age :)

Now about that failure thing. Let’s remember Yoda’s first famous phrase to Luke on Dagobah. “Do or do not, there is no try.” That’s a long ways away from “failure is a teacher.” And the thing is...both Yoda and Obi-wan failed (to a degree) with Luke. He ran off to Cloud City, got his hand chopped off, and things after ESB weren’t looking so hot. And that’s why I think it’s great for Yoda to come to this and bring it to Luke in TLJ, because it just shows how far the remaining (ghosts) of the Jedi Order have come to look past the attitudes that got them into the Darth Sidious mess to begin with. 

And so, guys, that’s my reading into hermit Luke and why I actually think the entire thing is really cool and a great homage to the entire set of films and tv shows that predated this movie. Oh yeah, and the twin suns with the Force theme in the background nearly killed me WHY DOES EVERYTHING NAMED TWIN SUNS ELICIT THIS REACTION IN ME SERIOUSLY STAR WARS STOP IT

The first character you loved:

In Digimon? Oh, Matt. For sure. XD He was, like, my gateway into the lone wolf rival trope, and I have never looked back, lol. I love this kid so much, and he’s grown up so well. I don’t show him nearly enough love on this blog, but he’ll always be my favorite. (I’ve loved him so long I honestly don’t even know what else to say, so, moving on... XD)

Honestly, for Dice, Camera, Action, despite the fact that it took quite a while for Nate to really get comfortable as a player, I’d still have to say Paultin. During the first, oh, season and a half, I enjoyed the show well enough, but it was more a way to pass the time at work than something I was really invested in. Once Paultin started to develop, though, I was all in, and now I really love all four of the main cast. His blossoming gave me a higher appreciation for everyone else.

And with Haikyuu, it was Kageyama. Come on, man, by the time I started this show, I was very, very well aware of my type, and there he was in all his grumpy faced glory. XD I love that once you get to know him better, going back and watching the first few episodes is so different. He initially seems real harsh and mean, but in reality he’s just very blunt and awkward. And I love it, lol. Guy seriously needs to learn some proper social skills, though, haha.

The character you never expected to love so much:

It took me a second to think of an answer for Digimon, but once I thought of it, it was so obvious I’m shocked he didn’t spring to mind immediately: Impmon. Wow. This little guy. I was not his biggest fan when I first started watching Tamers. I thought he was annoying. But the more I saw, the more I started really enjoying his character, and now, admittedly, he is my number one reason for revisiting that season. The rest of the cast ultimately fell kinda flat in comparison for me, but Impmon’s story is just great. I love this little guy.

Ok. DCA. The answer to this one may be a bit surprising in some ways, but... Omin. Now, I have tried listening to/watching other DnD shows, and, frankly, I have actually enjoyed very, very few of them. Acq Inc included. The crossover episodes with Strix were ok, but aside from her I mostly just liked Viari, so... I can’t say I was really super into Omin guest starring on DCA. But... he actually fit really well with the main cast? Like, surprisingly so? He was a pillar of stability that they are sorely lacking, and it was refreshing. But he was also just plain amusing. So. Yeah. That surprised me!

Oh gosh, in Haikyuu, Tsukishima, definitely. XD I mean, don’t get me wrong, I tend to enjoy snarky jerks like that, but he was just down right mean at first, and as it was mostly being directed at Kageyama... lol Yeah, I didn’t hate him, but, I can’t say I liked him either. But then, as my sister and I like to put it, he became “our”/Karasuno’s jerk - yes he still pisses off the Karasuno bunch sometimes, but since officially joining them, he is now an even bigger jerk to opponents. And it’s so much easier to love him when he’s intimidating the other team. XD And once he got his awesome development against Shiratorizawa? SOLD.

The character you relate to the most:

It’s a boring answer, but from Digimon it’s Matt, lol. Personality-wise we can be very similar, which is probably why I enjoy so many other “rival” characters. He likes to stop and think of which answer is best, but he is also a bit hot headed and can say things he doesn’t really mean without thinking. He’s very loyal, but he’s not good at expressing that in words. He can also be very hard on himself. ...I can relate. XD

Boring answer #2: in Dice, Camera, Action, it’s Paultin, lol. Now, I actually don’t drink at all, so don’t worry, I’m not a raging alcoholic! But there’s been a lot of stuff happening lately that really highlights how similar we can be in certain ways. For one, Paultin internalizes a lot, and when it comes out, it comes out in lots of words and with an attitude that could easily come across as harsh. He’s a pretty sarcastic guy. He also is a fairly selfish character, but he does care about his friends and really tries to do right by them. And he looks around him and sees amazing people doing amazing things, and then he looks at himself and can’t see how he possibly could compare or fit in. (Ep 93 hit me hard, guys... ^_^;; )

Surprise twist! You might think my choice for Haikyuu would be Kageyama, but it’s not! It’s Yamaguchi! lol He’s a guy that’s in the background, a bit shy, and a bit of a nervous wreck at times, lol. He’s not the best at anything, but he finds something he wants to be good at and works at it. He wants to be helpful, and he wants to win, but he’s not good enough to do it in the same way everyone else does. So he finds his own way.

The character you’d slap:

This wouldn’t have been my answer when I was younger, but when I went back through Digimon 02 a couple years ago, man, I really wanted to slap BlackWarGreymon. XD Luckily he does essentially get a super strong digimon equivalent that breaks him out of his funk, so I guess that’s nice, haha. But wow, his super emo inner turmoil was way more super emo than I remembered it. XD

I’m... I’m sorry, but in DCA, it’s Strix. I love her, ok! I love all the main four! But... man... she really needs something right now to get her to reign in that reckless streak. She has made a LOT of terrible decisions lately, and I want her to realize this. It would help out the group as a whole so much...

In Haikyuu. Oh, that one’s easy: Oikawa. Because it’d be fun. XD

Hm, from Digimon I guess I’ll say Henry. I don’t know if it really counts, but when I first saw clips with Jen from the Japanese raws, I just kind of assumed he’d be my favorite. Yeah, he’s not. XD So I think it’s more a matter of I expected to like him more than I ultimately did.

In DCA... no one...? I suppose I could say Miranda, but that’s a pretty mild change. While I never disliked her, I wasn’t her biggest fan, but I did find it interesting how she actually pushed back against Paultin who can come across as fairly abrasive. But in the end I’m just sort of “meh” about her overall.

As for Haikyuu - no one. Literally no one. I love all my boys and you can’t stop me!!

Middle-class with a single parent who's always trying to make ends meet, playing a very physical sport (football/lacrosse) as a key charector trait, The Nice Guy who always has good intentions even if they don't play out the best way, is pretty naive and not always the most aware of what's going on around him but tries to keep up with it anyway, best freinds with The Sarcastic Edgelord, instantly fell in love with The New Girl who's father is into some really shady business and kind of can't stand him, also The New Girl's family is a threat to who he is (be it biologically or circumstantially) and he gets caught between wanting to be with her and wanting to be, you know, alive (I won't believe for a second that Hiram wouldn't casually kill off one of Veronica's boyfreinds I mean...) has a connection to the FBI, also does alot of shirtless running and fell assbackwards into the main plot of season one because he was sort of ... there... and now he's stuck with the fallout, I Never Wanted Any Of This I Just Wanted To Be A Normal Highscooler Why Do People Keep Dieing!?

Lydia/Betty:

Comes from a wealthy family (though not as wealthy as The New Girl's by far) and has all of the teenage girl stereotypes that would make you think she's Homecoming Queen but that's really surface level and if you peel back even a tiny layer of skin there's like... a never ending pit of darkness what the hell???????? (Thus- Cheerleader Fodder) Had romantic entanglements with both The Nice Guy and The Sarcastic Edgelord; has been the object of aforementioned Edgelord's affection for way longer than she realizes, everyone thought she and The New Girl would be enemies but they're actually besties for life, mom is highkey sketchy despite not having any solid reasons to fall back on quite yet, family has secrets that she should probably know for her own mental well-being but far be it from anyone to tell her before things escalate, all she needed was one little incident for That Dark Crap to arise and now she can't get rid of it (the bite for Lydia, the hot tub for Betty) Is extremely intellegent and actually really sweet but make no mistake if you mess with her freinds she WILL become your worst nightmare and that's probably literally, I Just Wanted To Get Into A Good College But Now I'm Probably Gonna Have To Stab A Dude

Derek is even like the anti-Cheryl in a way, they're both oddly similar but their alignments are polar opposites (neutral-good/chaotic good and chaotic neutral/neutral evil), but for the hell of it...:

Extremely rich, come from old money, one of /Those/ families that's been in the town since the start of it and is kind of known by everyone there, arsonist burned their house down when they were 17 (the difference here is that for Derek it was a tragedy, for Cheryl it was a task) (I know that was a terrible joke), sexually assaulted at age 17, Attitude Issues (the difference being that Derek presents himself as broody, grumpy, and quick to irritate, wile Cheryl presents herself cheerfully but with a very obvious ego and selfishness), Family has some pretty literal skeletons in the closet, homicidal relative who kicked off the events of the entire series (Peter killing Laura, Cheryl's dad killing Jason), The Popular Kid in highschool (atleast, Visionary leads us to believe that Derek was relatively popular), The death of their sibling is what starts the entire series, the unwilling fifth member of the Core Four- making it more of a Fab Five- who kind of doesn't want to be there but also kind of does and is more there for plot/circumstances/marketing than because they're "freinds" with the Core Four (although they kind of want to be they just won't say it out loud), Does Not Care About Society's "Moral Expectations", Has a very noticeable lean on fashion that they wear pretty much constantly for atleast the first two seasons (Red for Cheryl, leather jackets for Derek), has a heart despite acting out all the time, I'm Hanging Around You Losers For Plot And Totally NOT Because I'm Lonely And Insecure And Need Some Freinds

Shownu

House: Gryffindor Favorite Subject: Apparition Quidditch Position: Keeper

A very respectful, soft spoken, and studious Prefect. Everyone expects a lot from him as a wizard, expecting him to land a job in the Ministry of Magic as soon as he graduates. Students from other houses are often intimidated by him, but Son Hyunwoo is commonly thought of as “The Father of Gryffindor” among the people of his house. Although he isn’t particularly vocal about it, he only wants the best for his peers and will look out for them constantly. Not a bossy Prefect or anything of the sort, but is straightforward with scolding to the point his “You shouldn’t do that”s and “It isn’t particularly kind”s prevent people from doing tricky things out of guilt. Although most believe it’s only natural for someone like him to excel at a subject as difficult as Apparition, many express their worry towards his pursuit in such a dangerous concept. Still, Shownu doesn’t fear the risks and is rather capable of himself anyways. You may find him with his broomstick, probably a recent Nimbus model, training. He often helps his teammates, but his training session is not limited to them exclusively. Shownu is willing to train with anyone who asks, and often does so with his fellow Prefect Wonho. His role as a Keeper only adds to the misconception of his personality, but those who truly fear him are those who are up against his team in a Quidditch match. Chasers often how to score with Shownu blocking shots, and some even question whether or not he uses some sort of spell or charm to be that level of excellence.

Wonho

House: Hufflepuff Favorite Subject: Care of Magical Creatures Quidditch Position: Beater

His fear of heights is hardly evident because he’s such a diligent Quidditch player. Labelled as “Wonho” by many ー including a few professors ー Shin Hoseok gets his nickname due to his role as a Beater. His Quidditch team never has to fear Bludgers hitting them because Wonho is very reliable, he’s even taken the blow for teammates (which earn him minor concussions and other injuries as a result). If anyone confronts him to ask why he flies despite being acrophobic, he’ll smile and say his fear is “exactly why he plays!”. His owl was his mother’s pet when she attended the school, and Wonho literally writes to her at every opportunity. He’s the Prefect of Hufflepuff, and he’ll do his best to aid anyone regardless of their year or house. The role was a surprise to many due to his mischievous nature during his first few years in Hogwarts (he was frequent in the Detention Chambers and often caused ruckus with his brooms and potions). He eventually grew out of those actions the more he became dedicated to the Quidditch team, but he does love a good prank or two here and there. He’s practically the human embodiment of the infamous phrase “Mischief Managed”. He has a deep love and respect for creatures of any kind, which is very evident in his favorite class, Care of Magical Creatures. When he’s not spending time in the Training Grounds, he can often be found in the Owlery located at the West Tower.

Minhyuk

House: Hufflepuff Favorite Subject: Defense Against the Dark Arts Quidditch Position: Beater

Unlike fellow Hufflepuff Hoseok, Lee Minhyuk has yet to grow out of his mischievous ways. Unmanaged mischief as one might call him, as he proves to be a nuisance with his “playful acts” and spells he often casts. He is at least able to make up for the points he loses for his house by absolutely excelling at Defense Against the Dark Arts. Students both experienced and inexperienced challenge him to fuels quite often, though with his quick wit, keen evasion and deflection, as well as a natural gift for picking up spells, Minhyuk is practically a dueling champion. Despite having beaten most of the school, no one can stay mad at the bundle of sunshine for long. His outgoing, friendly personality earns him quite a bunch of friends regardless of what year and house they’re in. His sharp reflexes not only serve him well in Duels, but also in Quidditch. He and Wonho make an excellent Beater Duo, as they hardly allow their team to sustain any Bludger-related injuries during games. He does, however, have a habit of sending Bludgers towards the audiences by accident. He has a pet rat with a mischievous mind of its own, and the rodent often chews through his books and clothes and even nibbles marks into his cauldron. Because of this, Minhyuk is commonly seen roaming the halls with holes in his robes, stray papers and wand trapped in his arms as he asks his peers if he can borrow their textbooks for a class or two. Filch’s favorite person to pick on, apparently it took a lot of convincing on Minhyuk’s part to stop Mrs Norris from taking his pet rat for dinner.  The only time you’ll see Minhyuk upset is when he gets a Howler from his parents consulting him about his mischief.

Kihyun

House: Ravenclaw Favorite Subject: Transfiguration Quidditch Position: Chaser

A typical Ravenclaw, many students wonder why he wasn’t appointed as a Prefect. Rumor has it that he actually declined the offer in his 5th year because he didn’t want to take even more responsibility. Although he doesn’t like to admit it, Kihyun really does look after his peers and definitely does a good job with it. To other Ravenclaws, Yoo Kihyun is much like the mother of their house. He sets a good example for all younger students, and many aspire to be as intelligent, wise, and studious as he is. He is often found in the library, though you’d have to do a bit of looking as he makes a habit of going to a different section each visit. That way he’s able to broaden his knowledge about anything he goes for, and some people wonder if he’s used a spell that helps him contain all the impossibly large amount of knowledge he has (that is, if such a spell even exists). If he’s not in the library, he often maintains the Ravenclaw common room and keeps an eye out for anyone attempting to sneak out or so. House points are very important to him, and it’s like he loses one year of his life span when a Ravenclaw loses points in his presence. He’s the type of student who will correct others or assist them when they mess up a spell, and will definitely help those who have the courage to approach him. Kihyun is actually very respectful and sweet so long as you’ve got a good attitude! He has a knack for all subjects, but especially exceeds in Transfiguration. His friends (especially Minhyuk!) warn other students to avoid angering him because he might just turn them into an animal for awhile. (He probably has, but he doesn’t do that sort of thing in vain so the kid must have deserved it) He’d rather pursue his education and definitely go for a job as an Auror or something, but on the rare occasion he plays Quidditch for his house he turns out to be a very excellent (and competitive!) Chaser.

Hyungwon

House: Slytherin Favorite Subject: Charms Quidditch Position: Seeker

His ravishing looks and house he was sorted in often leads to much misinterpretation, Chae Hyungwon is kinder than he seems. Although undeniably witty and at times even sassy, he has a genuinely kind heart and is nicer than he gives himself credit for. The way he moves through the halls with such elegance and grace often causes people to label him as another vile, Pureblooded Slytherin, but he actually doesn’t care much for blood status and is probably only giving such a gaze because he just woke up from a nap. He falls asleep often, knows the best places in the school to take naps but often gets away with it. Occasionally people will attempt to cast a spell on him or do some sort of prank while he’s in slumber, but he is very much aware of his surroundings when asleep. Hyungwon may seem like someone who slacks off or doesn’t pay attention, but he really does have good intentions and it often goes unnoticed. Overall he’s very much misunderstood, and unfortunately little get to know how pleasant this Slytherin truly is. The only time he actually gets recognition is with Charms, where he is praised for his exceptional skill. He is also an excellent Seeker, though most refuse to admit it. A habit of his is staying still for a long period of time during a match, only to move if he locates the Snitch or if a Bludger comes his way.

Jooheon

House: Gryffindor Favorite Subject: Muggle Studies Quidditch Position: Chaser

Hailing from a Pureblood family, Lee Jooheon doesn’t get much exposure to the Muggle World. This is why Muggle Studies fascinates him, and he takes great pleasure in discovering anything about their culture. Muggle music in particular always seems to strike his fancy. He does have a bit of trouble with magic and what not, though the spells he casts are undeniably powerful. Jooheon enjoys being around enchanted fauna and flora, though they don’t treat him particularly well in return. He’s probably sustained an injury or two from getting trampled by a Hippogriff, pecked by a Phoenix… it still doesn’t reduce his affection towards them, though. Many students deem him as someone scary, but those who get to know him wonder why the Sorting Hat placed him in Gryffindor rather than Hufflepuff. He’s very kind, and the smile he gives off is contagious even to his teachers (most of the time). The most avid letter writer during the summer, his friends are used to getting a letter from him first. He also likes to write to his parents to tell them about his experiences at the school, and he occasionally gets gifts delivered to him in return. Jooheon considers Hyunwoo as “his rival”, yet somehow considers him as a father away from home.

Changkyun

House: Ravenclaw Favorite Subject: Potions Quidditch Position: Seeker

There are two ways in perceiving Changkyun; he is either “too quiet” or “too odd”. Frankly, he is neither. (He may have a skeptical, different way of thought, but it always seems to work in his favor) He’s a bit of a lone wolf due to these misinterpretations, but he has all the friends he needs. When he isn’t being selfless and mature, his sense of humor shines through. He gets even professors laughing, at least most of the time. Changkyun has a bit of a record with spells going awry, and potions causing safety hazards. It’s not that he’s bad at magic, he’s actually very good, he just likes to experiment as much as he can and it doesn’t always end up successful. When they are, however, prepared to be amazed because his good potions are so well brewed, he might as well rewrite instructions of his own to replace the textbook’s. Everyone seems to wonder Changkyun’s strategy as Ravenclaw’s Seeker ー including his own team members. They don’t know how he does it, one match he might stay still the majority of the time, another he’ll be flying around wilder than the Bludgers. Sometimes you’ll barely catch a glimpse of him; but no matter what he does the match often ceases with a loud declaration of “Lim Changkyun has caught the Snitch! Ravenclaw wins!”, and he descends to the ground while holding the winged gold orb in his hands triumphantly.

How about some head canons of the guys when they were like in high school and they fall for the bad girl of the school ( you know the one how skipped class,not used the uniform in the way that they has to use, friends with others punks and broke almost every rule in the school). I bet Ignis could be thinking 'WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?!?'

Oh this is a neat idea!

The Prince kind of ends up shaking his own head at himself. Noctis was one to do his own thing too, but at least that was within reason.

He adopts the policy of “look, but don’t touch”, in fact it extends out to don’t really even talk either.

Noctis already knows this is a very go-nowhere sort of thing and that he should not pursue. He’s a prince, he’s not going to be able to go all willy-nilly and date anyways. And if he did he knew Regis wouldn’t likely approve. So he spends a better portion trying to just watch from afar, if even that.

Bad news is, the Prince has skipped out on classes too. And some of his hangout spots also doubled as theirs too. And as frequently as they skipped it was hard to not catch them sometimes.

“I am beginning to feel like you’re following me sometimes.” She says, finally approaching the Prince. It’s an awkward meeting, but they get to talking from it.

After that Noct starts to break his own rules. He starts to talk to her more. She fills him in all the spots she frequents. And she ends up turning into a bad influence in the way that he starts to skip out on class too. Either they meet on the roof, or he just exits the school grounds entirely for all this.

Turns out they had quite a bit in common. Outside of their attitude problems and such, but even that was her being a pufferfish; playing it rough and tough just to keep others from giving her shit. All she wanted to do was just laze around and drown her own problems out.

Though she still wasn’t free of bad actions. Still doing and getting her hands on things she shouldn’t. He might not have been doing that all for himself either, even when she offered. But he still let her by with a lot.

And what ended up being the straw that broke the camel’s back was when she got into a fight, and Noctis rushed in to. Not only was his father already going to have a talk with him over skipping, but now Noctis has to face him and explain why it is he’s black and blue and with a busted lip.

Oh how he should have known better…

Ignis finds himself annoyed beyond belief at plenty enough of the other students he knows. But in this case he’s the most annoyed at himself because suddenly he found himself liking one of the worst.

She always lounges and sets her feet on the desk, never takes a note, always with the bad grades, picking fights, detention constantly… They didn’t even wear the uniform! He wasn’t even a teacher and yet he was starting to feel the same level of frustration as one of them over it.

And dear lord, it gets even worse yet when he’s made to partner up with them on a project. Mostly because her failing grade would reflect poorly on the teacher, so Ignis was now the only hope. He resented that at first actually.

So now he’s trying to organize meetups with her, because he’s not going to let her get by with doing nothing. And it’s frustrating because he’s getting told he’s uptight and she’s still not budging towards anything.

And this is where he gets mad because she is so irrefutably stubborn and standoffish, they do nothing other than butt heads together! And yet through his rage he still feels something for them. He’s still stealing glances at them. And the more he watches her do her thing (when they aren’t butting heads), the more thrilling and interesting he finds her and the more interested he gets.

But his feelings about that he vows to not let get in the way on all this. It’s not worth the trouble to him.

And eventually he snaps at them when it comes to the project. He didn’t mean to. After being so tired, and having to try and pull through this on his own without much help, he just finally snapped at her. And he thought at first that was going to land him in a bad place- they were storming over to him with a sneer.

But instead of getting hurt, they finally sat down with him. And in no time they had it done. Done and they toss the pen right back at him and tell him he can quit nagging now. It takes Ignis by surprise because they got through everything with such ease. Without a doubt this one wasn’t having a hard time grasping anything, so why the failing grades?

When the project is over he still tries to get some distance between the two of them. This has been thrilling enough for him to finally start peeking at more of her life and how her view is. But he’s been vexed for long enough and he’s hoping the infatuation he had (that he was kicking himself over) would die down… unfortunately for him, Ignis path keeps crossing her’s and that makes it all the harder to do that.

Noct has probably had to ask him on several occasions during the whole ordeal, and after, why is he banging his head on the wall?

Though the worst problem of it all for him? She a few times would start up smoking by him. It smelled, he didn’t like the smell of tobacco, and his clothes started to carry a faint scent of that with him for a short bit after, and he had to deal with it. But every time she did he would always feel the urge to knock it out of her hands and kiss her right after she took a drag and he was unsure why.

Alas it’s not the first time that Gladio fell for that sort. But he has a type for those ones…

Gladio doesn’t much care for the ones who do it for a cool image. He pretty much liked the punk ones of that sort; the “I do this because I want to/feel like it”. The bad girl is more than just aesthetic, it’s a way of life. So the ones who did what they wanted, as long as what they wanted wasn’t cruel, was the ones he dug.

Gladio probably found them when he was running through, either trying to find someone or return something, and here was the lone-wolf standing out where they shouldn’t be and without much care in the world. “What are you looking at?” He was caught staring.

The meetings after that, random coincidences or not, you can tell he’s taken quite a bit of interest. Wanting to see what makes her tick and what all she’s up to.

And Gladio would be the first to admit, part of the appeal of a freebird like this is not only does he admire the “don’t give a shit” attitude in a way, but he also views this as a challenge. He doesn’t want to take the bad out her, but he wants a badgirl all to himself- that’s the challenge.

Honestly he is going to roll up, puff his chest out and play up like he’s a bit of a strong, badboy himself.

It doesn’t work. He knows it, and they probably do to, that his daddy probably wouldn’t be too happy on him trying to be one anyways; so she teases him for being a bit of a square.

Honestly everything between him and her kept turning into on-again-off-again sort of relationships, before it likely simmered back into being a rough-housing set of fwb’s type of thing. (Maybe it’s not quite the thing he went in wanting, but they both figured they at least had something good come out of it)

Oh lordy Prompto goes into a bit of denial over this. Not as in “I soooo don’t like them” but in the way of “No she’s not that bad, she’s cute and silly!” Or at least that is how it is in the end.

In the beginning he gets more conflicted because… they’re scary. There is a ton of rumors about this badgirl. She’s not bad without reason right?

So even though she is kind of cute… He’s been trying to avoid her. Prompto has always been trying to keep his head low and out of trouble. He’s just a clumsy, sweet kid! And clumsy sweet kids don’t want any trouble… but that was the one thing he thought was coming his way when he quite literally ran into someone in the middle of the halls. And that someone happened to be the girl with literally the worst damn rep in the school.

Prompto thought for sure an ass kicking was coming his way. He was already bracing himself. But instead he’s met with a “watch where the hell you’re going” and… Are they picking up his papers and camera? They helped pull him up? That sure is nice for a person the whole school was accusing of being heartless…And honestly? That kind of made her just a little bit more cute.

And boy that was quite a once in a life-time encounter- wait a minute. More like twice because she also dropped something when they had collided in the hallway, and they didn’t seem to realize it before running off. Meaning now Prompto has to find a way back over to her.

Not too hard; he finds them, and a group of friends with her, over in the arcade he frequents. Again, it’s daunting because all of them were known for being a rude-crew-with-a-nasty-attitude (why just last week he heard about how they beat up a teacher even).  But they all were surprisingly okay? Well maybe okay wasn’t right, they were a little on the not quite so good or wholesome side (crass as hell)- but they seemed okay enough when they were sharing the games? So he had an alright time hanging out with them.

“Okay but seriously, what’s a cutie like you doing around with us?” She finally asks when the place is closing up and they all leave, taking a small stroll out with Prompto. And her calling him a cutie just set his cheeks on fire! But that reminds him, he had something to return. However… He still held off on that because there was something else about her he liked, outside of her looks, so what’s one more day of keeping the thing? One more meeting?

Well, one more meeting kind of ended up changing into a whole heck of a lot. Just because he got so incredibly infatuated with them. And even though Prompto is still the same ol’ sweet kid, he starts to get a bad rep just from how often he hangs out around the badgirl. And it still doesn’t help when he tries to tell people they’re wrong about her and try to say she’s not that bad…
