#art from a while back #i played hk first and deepnest was like. the most uncomfortable ive ever been playing the game #mainly because its just so DARK #as for rw... when i got to shaded...... what the actual Hell #i eventually got used to just dying in the dark and exploring the first parts of the region but like. Why is it pitch black #i didnt even realize there was a path to the scav merchant at the first room..... i got to memory crypts before finding it in my next run #hollow knight #rain world #hk ghost #rw slugcat #rw survivor #artatat #?!?@?@?@?@ the alt text got removed for a sec Sorry about that im not sure why or how that happened #also im completely aware deepnest without a lantern is much darker but atleast it isnt pitch black. Freshly hatched. still wet with mucus and whatever #Have you ever seen a butterfly fresh from the cocoon and their wings are all crumpled up?#so yeah their unevenness is intentional lol #I spent forever debating whether I wanted to put Peri there #but ultimately I thought it made the composition more interesting so I kept him #Also youll notice his wings are slightly different now I decided to redesign them to be a bit more galaxy like #its hard to see here but Ive changed the 3 dots to resemble planets in a row: Green for cosmo pink for Wanda and different pink for timmy #I think it came out a bit ugly in this but whatever Ive spend too long on this already #I wanted Devs wings to be reminiscent of gold. For some reason I really liked the idea of them curving inward too #Maybe to represent that hes selfcentered. I see Arcane's marketing is thrusting a lot of blue on Jinx's persona, which is fine, but also a misdirection! I argue that the use of blue on Jinx represents THE IDEA that others have of Jinx rather than representing who Jinx really is. Jinx's true color, the one she paints over those closest to her, the one that represents her is PINK. Jinx is pink!

When we see Jinx in pieces either in or out of show where blue is the predominant color in the palette it's signaling to us the audience that this the Jinx that is perceived by the world around her, which includes Piltover AND Zaun. In this essay I will---

#arcane #arcane meta #jinx arcane #it feels wrong that the she's defined by blue in the teaser and marketting and even the murals #sure it's an eye-catching color but that's not jinx #it feels almost like the same mistake vi made with the whole jinx-powder dichotomy #jinx once defined by bright blue but over time that color has gradually receded from her outfit where it's more dominated by dark hues #and purple and pink #but now this misunderstanding is on a larger scale because now jinx is a symbol and is up for interpretation #like it's very interestingbthat for all the art done of jinx none has been the right shade of blue it's either light and natural in zaun #but unnaturally cold in piltover #it's what either one wants out of jinx #but the art where jinx is truly a part of it and alive is where dark palette and bright pink take over #idk it just feels like adding more blue just washes out the depth of jinx's design #it'll probably be super annoying when jinx's bday comes and people are giving her blue colored gifts #and she'd be thinking “goodgoodgreat... my favorite color is pink”#but she won't say anything bcuz a lot of the gifts are from children or something

Can't stop thinking about This prompt/au lol

I almost like to think that Clockwork kind of half-sent Danny to the ghost-world version of Gotham because he was struggling and is honestly just a kid and could use some guidance. And with how the Observants dislike him to the point of murder, CW sure couldn't keep him in Long Now. But Gotham? Now there's a place that not many go, thanks to curses running amok, a very dangerous City Spirit, and amalgamations of fallen Guardians and Rogues. It's chaotic, dangerous, and a hell of a shot, but the Bat could, and most probably would assist the newborn guardian. The living world and the infinite are intertwined after all, influenced by whatever realm it drifts closest to.

Thankfully Danny seems to be enjoying himself- he has a proper ghost friend now! And he's starting to be able to understand Batblob's cacophony of Silent-EverSilent-Gurgles-DistantWhispers-QuietScreamsSilence easier too without Robin translating. (His Ghost-Speak is getting so good :D) He wishes he could bring Sam & Tucker but it's a little too far into the ghost zone. And the ghosts and Vlad doesn't bother him here! (The last time he tried, unknown to Danny, the older halfa was met with a malicious swarm of teeth and maws ready to rip and tear and not lose another child again-) He's even gotten shown the exits to the living-world's Gotham. Robin likes to ramble about the new and different living-robins and about their friend who was also a robin and who disappeared one day and whose core they carry on their belt. Maybe he can help them find out what happened to him...
