lots of people used to dislike him because he played for psg and was "too arrogant" but after his world cup people absolutely adore him or at least respect him and are proud of him
#this is a obviously a quick and general answer based of what I saw on twitter the news and people around me#opinions about him keep changing#a few years ago he was the country's favourite sportsman#but also there was a time last year the vast majority of psg fans used to hate him or at least be super mad at him#do I make sense ?#I guess I'm just trying to show that something has definitely change with his performance during the final#I watched it with some people who don't usually watch football and they were impressed and loved how he made them feel#a few members of my family hate him/find him overrated but recognised that they felt bad for him after the final#his name wss trending on twitter for days after the final (it only stopped around the 24 were the main subject was christmas)#but everytime I clicked on his name the tweets in french were complimentary#at think the meanest tweet I saw were someting like ''fuck he made me like him'' or ''guess I have to go back to hating him now''#when usually you find criticism very very easily when you search his name#like there gonna be something in the first 5 tweets you'l read#anyway something definitely shift but not for the first time and idk how long it's gonna last#but right now it's quite hard to find a french people who has something bad to say about him
