God can use the situations in the past to make us wiser and stronger. Let us not allow our past to render us powerless, but rather let us give our past to God and thank Him for the lessons learned. We are to run forward, pressing on to what God has prepared ahead for us. Jesus has a plan for each of us. Don’t become entangled in what has happened behind you. Seek His help in overcoming the grip the past has on your life. 

Allowing our mind to replay old tapes over and over again can stifle us and rob us of our ability to move forward. We must forget the past and concentrate on what God has ahead of us.

I call them the "Three Santas" in my Otherworld canon.

The Ghost of Christmas Past is the spirit of Saint Lucy, chosen due to her association with light and sight, as well as her holiday being in mid-December.

The Ghost of Christmas Present was always going to be obvious. Dickens based him on Father Christmas, an English folk figure that evolved from pagan traditions who later merged with Saint Nicholas.

And finally, keeping with the theme of choosing saints, it only made sense I find one that personified death in some fashion in order to represent the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. The mexican folk saint Santa Meurte seemed like a perfect, albeit somewhat out of place, fit.

chappell roan goes on a podcast with some other lesbians and talks about how she wishes she could enjoy casual sex but it makes her anxious and acknowledges that a lot of it feels like it stems from internalized christian guilt/homophobia and she literally discusses with the host abt how casual sex and flings are romanticized and unrealistic anyways and also about how its hard to say “is this coming from stuff i can unlearn/grow past or is this just who i am?” but she offhandedly says “i hate being, like…. demisexual” in a way thats very clearly the closest word to be shorthand for her experience more than an actual part of her identity and so now all the comments look like this

i was thinking about the sleep deprivation thing that cults do and something i completely forgot about with regards to that conversation is that the sleep needs of children/teens are different to adults. it's a range as most things are, but when it comes to sleep you HAVE to go based off the biggest number to ensure everyone gets proper sleep because you cannot function properly without proper sleep

so, if you were a teenager who went to church camps and they allowed for less than 10 hours of sleep, or if you were a kid (6-12) and they allowed for less than 12 hours of sleep, you very well may have been sleep deprived, either intentionally or unintentionally

and as a little bonus: adults tend to respond to sleep deprivation with tiredness, but kids tend to respond with hyperactivity, and even one night of sleep deprivation can affect someone

one of the funniest things to me is that in Ohba's efforts to make L into a powerful and mysterious threat to Light he gave him seemingly unlimited wealth and influence and control over Light's personal freedom and privacy and autonomy etc. And this is somehow almost indistinguishable from if somebody were trying to write a sugar daddy dom love interest straight out of Fifty Shades of Grey for Light

Saw a really good post picking apart TERF radicalization, but unfortunately the OP used it to downplay the effects TERFs have on transmascs and say transfems have everything worse. I wanted to share it here anyway with the worst parts cut out because it’s valuable stuff.

I wish the OP would’ve also talked about how this radicalization looks for different groups instead of lumping everyone afab into one, but oh well, it was a good read regardless. They can be found at @/many-but-one.
