It's also cool that each character has very distinct body types/facial features. Angeal is a lot huskier and rounded than the others. Zack is sorta like that but more compact and ofc SPIKES. Genesis is typically the one with the biggest expressions and bright reds and oranges to help him stand out. And Seph has that angular face that feels both vaguely inhuman/beastlike and elegant at the same time.

They ALL really stand out so much easrdfghfdshrds And with every expression you give them, there's a level of squash and stretch that blends perfectly with their individual facial characteristics. Unlike Square, there is NO same-face stuff here hehe

IGDUNNO HOW TO RESPOND TO COMPLIMENTS SO IM GONNA TALK ABOUT #MY DESIGNS MORE HEHEHHEHE #you hit the nail on the head with Zack being the compact spikier version of Angeal XD #one of my main notes when designing angeal was that i wanted Zack as a teen to be the younger and rounder version of him hehe #so like angeal has smaller and sharper eyes -> zack has bigger and more expressive eyes with rounded lower lids #and then when Zack grows up he grows into the sword a bit and adopts more of Angeals traits but MORE and more ragged #angeal has the little antenna so Zacks are BIG AND CRAZY. Angeal has little spikes so zack has one million #Zacks trying to fill Angeals shoes but he's overcorrected himself. he's still not right for it.
