Welcome to the Favorite Classmate Tournament!
This is gonna be a big one. Due to the number of classmates and the fact i couldn't evenly distribute it in a number of pairs and sides that made sense for the brackets (maybe there's a way and I'm just bad at math), every side initially includes 3 pairs and 1 trio each, and finals will be a poll between 3 contenders and y'all will have to live with that, I did my best.
As always, pairs/trios and their order in the bracket were randomly generated.
Complete list of polls under the cut, they'll be linked as soon as they're posted. Polls will be open for a week. May your fave win!

GODZILLA VS. MEGALON (1973) – Episode 199 – Decades Of Horror 1970s
“Megalon! Megalon! Wake up, Megalon! Come on, rise up now, to the Earth’s surface! Destroy the Earth! Destroy our enemies! Rise up! Go on! MEGALON!” That’s quite the cheering section you have there, Megalon. Join your faithful Grue Crew – Bill Mulligan, Jeff Mohr, and guest hosts Dirk Rogers and Bryan Clark – as they go quadruple kaiju in Toho’s Godzilla vs. Megalon (1973).

Decades of Horror 1970s is partnering with the WICKED HORROR TV CHANNEL (https://wickedhorrortv.com/) which now includes video episodes of the podcast and is available on Roku, AppleTV, Amazon FireTV, AndroidTV, and its online website across all OTT platforms, as well as mobile, tablet, and desktop.
An inventor creates a humanoid robot (Jet Jaguar) that is seized by the undersea nation of Seatopia & used as a guide for Megalon and Gigan to destroy the above-ground dwellers as vengeance for the nuclear tests that have devastated their society. In an attempt to stop them, a now independently thinking Jet Jaguar brings Godzilla into the fight.

Trust us, you will not be disappointed as the Grue-Crew champions another Toho, 1970s, Kaiju entry, Godzilla vs. Megalon, for some silly yet still awesome man-in-suit action. Joining Godzilla and Megalon on screen are fellow giant monsters, Gigan and Jet Jaguar. Jeff finds himself surrounded by kaiju super-fans Bill, Bryan, and Dirk. This episode should not be missed! Enjoy!
At the time of this writing, Godzilla vs. Meagalon is available to stream from Tubi, Freevee, Pluto TV, MAX, the Criterion Channel, and multiple PPV sources. The film is also available on physical media as a Blu-ray in Godzilla, the Showa-Era Films, 1954–1975 (The Criterion Collection).

In two weeks, the next episode will be the podcast’s landmark bicentennial (that’s 200th, folks)! In honor of that occasion, the 70s Grue-Crew will also be celebrating the 50th anniversary of what many call the greatest horror movie of all time: The Exorcist (1973). Join us to discuss the film in which one character says, “There seems to be an alien pubic hair in my gin.”

"Kizoku Tantei"
138.
Title: “Kizoku Tantei” (The Noble Detective) Genre: Mystery, Detective, Comedy Season: Spring 2017 TV Station: Fuji TV Theme Song: “I’ll be there” by Arashi Starring: Masaki Aiba, Emi Takei, Katsuhisa Namase, Kenichi Takito, Miho Nakayama, Yutaka Matsushige, Yukie Nakama Date Finished: April 28, 2021 My Personal Reason for Watching: An Arashi member starring drama is always on my to-watch list;)
(^^ And with Aiba that sharply dressed, of course I had to tune in!)
The Kizoku Tantei (Aiba) is an aristocrat who does detective work as part of his hobby. He is a mystery of his own as no one knows where he came from or what his real name is. Aika (Takei) is an up-and-coming private detective who always seems to bump into the Kizoku Tantei on her cases. Aika competes with the Kizoku Tantei to solve cases. She is also on a continuous search for the killer of her former boss. Officer Hanagata (Namase) is always on the scene with these two detectives as well as the Kizoku Tantei’s loyal servants, Sato (Takito), Tanaka (Nakayama) and Yamamoto (Matsushige).
(^^ Kizoku Tantei and his entourage are at it again!)
While this drama did take me a while to get through (since I started it last September and finished it this April…eep), there were enjoyable moments. I’ve mentioned this before, but with detective dramas, it’s always the same kind of storyline where every episode is one case that gets solved in those 45 minutes. With the same kind of format, you get the same recurring jokes. Kizoku Tantei is another example of that reused format. However, I will say that I liked that Kizoku Tantei’s servants did all the work and the reenactments were the best part of this whole drama.
(^^ His chauffeur, maid and butler are all detectives, too?! And actors? Well, I’m impressed :D)
I don’t think that Aiba and Emi are the strongest actors, but it’s the comedic timing of Namase as Hanagata as well as the Kizoku Tantei entourage that make up for the casting! Hanagata had me laughing out loud with his reactions to Kizoku Tantei and his “magical” ways. Yukie Nakama had a small appearance, mostly as the voice of “Giri.” I just wondered why Aika never just looked up stuff herself and had to use Giri all the time…is she really that lazy which is why she can never one-up the Kizoku Tantei? Hmm…I wonder.
(^^ “What?! You guys were just there! And now you’re here!” Oh Officer Hanagata XD)
If you like mystery/detective dramas, you can try and watch “Kizoku Tantei.” If you’re an Aiba fan, go right ahead and watch it. For me personally as an Arashi fan and a fan of dramas in general, I think there are other mystery/detective dramas that I would recommend over this one (such as ATARU, which I also reviewed!).
Favorites: Favorite Character: Probably Hanagata for comedic relief! Favorite Episode: I liked episodes 6 and 7 which was a continuous storyline. Favorite Scene: Definitely the reenactments and breakdowns of the cases from Kizoku Tantei’s servants!
(^^ What will they think of next?:D)
“Kizoku Tantei” Rating: Story: ✭✭½ So-so detective drama Acting: ✭✭½ The supporting cast had great comedic timing! Theme Song: ✭✭✭ Not my favorite Arashi song but I did love the ending credits which fit it nicely! (also why were the next previews always half in English and half in Japanese? What was the point of that?lol) Total: 8/15
Next Up: “Kita no Kuni Kara”
(^^ “I’ll be there for you”)

Can Japan finally realise its Arc dream?
Japan’s national obsession with the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe can be explained with a quick peek at the history books, which tells a story of agonising near-misses.Orferve (2012 and 2013) and Nakayama Festa (2010) have both filled the runner-up spot, while 2006 pre-race favourite Deep Impact came home third before being later disqualified. The race is on to break that duck, stretching back to almost 30 runners in four decades, with the task this year handed to two hopefuls, Chrono Genesis and Deep Bond. Please use Chrome browser for a more accessible video player
Watch the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe from ParisLongchamp live on Sky Sports Racing on Sunday October 3 at 3pm. Journalist Naohiro Goda told Sky Sports Racing: "To win the Arc is now the dream for all owners, trainers and breeders."Japanese horsemen have been trying to win the Arc for nearly 40 years now and have finished second many times but never won it. "The Arc is a very hard race to win but both Chrono Genesis and Deep Bond are a different type of Japanese horse from those who have tried to run in the Arc before. "Both of them can handle a soft-ish track and are in top condition. "I hope we have a very good chance on Sunday and that they will run a very big race for Japan."
Image: Chrono Genesis (centre, red cap) is beaten in the Dubai Sheema Classic by Mishriff A four-time Grade One winner at home, Chrono Genesis further outlined her credentials when narrowly beaten by subsequent Juddmonte International winner Mishriff in the Dubai Sheema Classic in March.Deep Bond is likely to start Sunday's showpiece as a live outsider, despite an impressive victory in the Prix Foy at ParisLongchamp earlier this month."Chrono Genesis is the best middle distance runner in Japan at the moment," Goda said. "Unfortunately she was narrowly beaten by Mishriff but she couldn't get a clear run on the home stretch. I think she was an unlucky loser."I believe Chrono Genesis is as good as Orfevre and Nakayama Festa. She's a very good mare."Chrono Genesis can handle any kind of track so I don't worry about the conditions at ParisLongchamp.
Image: Deep Bond lands the Prix Foy at ParisLongchamp "Cristian Demuro said before the Prix Foy that Deep Bond might need the race so I believe he was probably 85 per cent fit. He's now much better than he was before the Prix Foy."Deep Bond is a one-paced horse with lots of stamina and can handle the heavy track."Chrono Genesis, a general 10/1 shot for the race, will be the mount of Britain's leading jockey Oisin Murphy."Oisin Murphy has come to ride in Japan a couple of times and did a very good job," Goda said. "Many trainers and owners love to use him."I think it's a very good decision to pick up Oisin for Chrono Genesis. He's the leading jockey in the UK, knows the track at ParisLongchamp and I think he will do a very good job on Sunday."
Image: Oisin Murphy is a popular figure among Japanese racing fans and will take the ride on Chrono Genesis Japan's other Arc interestsNicholas Godfrey delves further into the Japanese obsession with the Arc...While Chrono Genesis and Deep Bond are the two Arc contenders actually trained in Japan, the nation has big interest elsewhere in the race - including yet again via riding legend Yutaka Take, who will partner Broome for Aidan O'Brien and owner Masaaki Matsushima, who has made no secret of his dreams of winning the Arc with Take in the saddle. Then there is Classic heroine Snowfall, trained in Ireland but a Japanese-bred daughter of the late, lamented Deep Impact, considered the greatest horse in the history of Japanese racing. Please use Chrome browser for a more accessible video player
Sky Sports Racing's Jamie Lynch and Martin Kelly discuss whether Oaks star Snowfall can bounce back from disappointment in the Prix Vermeille to win Sunday's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. Leading Japanese photo-journalist Masakazu Takahashi will claim a Japanese victory of sorts if the Ballydoyle filly prevails. "I am expecting success for Snowfall," he says."She is Deep Impact's daughter out of a Galileo mare, and to me that is a miracle pedigree! Ryan Moore was once asked what was missing from Japanese racing to prevent us winning the Arc, and he said 'Galileo!'"The fact that Snowfall is Deep Impact's daughter is so important to Japanese fans, who were so disappointed in 2006 when the legend was only third."Make no mistake: the Arc remains a massive deal to Japan, even if heads are being turned by overseas opportunities in other jurisdictions - there are likely to be four of five Japanese runners at this year's Breeders' Cup, for example."The Arc is very much the holy grail for the Japanese - that started with the parents of the current leaders of Japanese racing like Zenya Yoshida," explains Japanese-based Kate Hunter, president of leading marketing and consultancy firm Marugai Racing. "Staying races have always been ranked highly in Japan and the Arc is seen as the best staying race in the world," adds 'Keiba Kate', bilingual rep for Breeders' Cup and others and well known on the international scene for her efforts on behalf of Japanese horsemen."Because it is the best, they also only want to send their best. That is why Chrono Genesis is going to the Arc and not the Breeders Cup. She'd clean up at the Breeders' Cup but the Arc is the bigger prize." Read the full article

This is my first time writing resource post, so hopefully I can get my points across.
If you’re someone who is fond and ecstatic with:
-the sky in charcoal/greyish monochrome color -storms/thunderstorms -torrential rain/rainfall in general -the dark blue/almost black ocean especially the cloudiness before rainfall -imagining the geography/texture of planet outside of ours -anything without ends, like the deeper part of ocean (eg Mariana Trench/) -the sensation of being sucked into something dark or the unknown -fog/misty/snowy path/weather -the sensation of exploring the unknown in general -sound texture of any objects
And of course, if you’re fond of writing and feel the need to be immersed in a specific atmosphere that can recreate the sense of ‘comforting’ isolation that you might have felt during the phenomenon/weather/sensation on the lists, I have personal tracks to listen to during the condition, or if I want to recreate the feeling of being in the condition. It’s a mixed of instrumental/vocal track.

KIZOKU TANTEI
Takatoku Aika (Emi Takei) is a young lady who works as a private detective in detective agency. She is rookie and try her best to be great detective like her mentor who died in accident. During investigation of one of her cases she met mysterious man who call himself a “kizoku tantei”- noble/aristocratic detective (Masaki Aiba) - and solves cases as a hobby. However because he is “noble” he cant work so his servants do all the work for him. Aika cant accept this kind of detective and wants defeat Kizoku with her reasoning. As time goes by Aika got interested in Kizoku and wants to know his true intentions and his identity even she knows doing so can be very dangerous.
Aaah I finished this drama like ages ago but damn I am so late with this review and I kinda feel bad for it, but here it is... Since I heard news, saw teasers and magazines with smexy Aiba in them, I had feeling like I would totally love this drama and it will be my cup of coffee. And you know what? I was not mistaken!!! It had everything I enjoy and like- interesting mysteries, smart humour, and omg sarcastic extra like Kizoku tantei portrayed by flawless Masaki Aiba and big plus was beautiful border collie Spiegel!
But let’s talk about each part separatelly. About mysteries...well to be honest I think japanese like clumsy, hopeless or “not-very-detective-like” detectives. Well this time we kinda had 2 of them. Takatoku Aika or Miss detective was clumsy type detective who missed biggest parts of mystery. However Kizoku tantei was special kind of detective. Of course his servants did reasoning but he guided them to help Aika to solve mysteries. And I felt he knew everything right away and he guided everything and everyone as he planned. I really think this was somehow new in japanese detective dramas and I enjoyed it.
I really had great time with this drama. Whole cast for this drama was amazing. You can see lot of well known actors and actresses like Katsuhisa Namase (who was hiliarous and so funny XD ), Kenichi Takito, Miho Nakayama or Yutaka Matsushige (this trio played Kizoku’s servants and they were very funny too). And for nostalgic feeling you can see Nakama Yukie as mysterious woman. Even quests were famous. I think thanks to this great cast funny scenes were funny and not lame and serious scenes were serious, not cringe like.
Aaaand finally about Kizoku-sama. Well, if anyone would tell me Aiba would be great as sarcastic, teasing and somehow “very-extra” type of detective and he would rock it- I would be sceptical. Really sceptical. I am sorry but after “Yokoso” drama I did not expected much from Aiba’s acting (I am so sorry Aiba-sama). But hey I must admit Aiba let me speechless. This role really really suited him and you could see he enjoys his role. I really loved to see Aiba totally different from his others roles and even from his “usual self”. He did really great portraying kinda sarcastic, bossy and extravagant noble detective.
And about story...I really really liked plot twists and all that mystery connected to Kizoku. Like I did not know what to think about him and how will story continue. I also like the “thing” with Aika’s mentor. It was something new in japanese dramas I would say, or at least not common. But I have to say I am not satisfied about the end. For me it ruined whole drama.
*SPOILER* (I mean the scene how Aika met her mentor and how she accepted Kizoku for an adventure” when she hated him and neglected him like WHOLE drama. Like wtf, when did she fell for him? And I dont think the “kiss” scene was necessary. They sudenlly changed the genre of drama?! lol )
BUT when I forget the end, I must say really liked and enjoyed this drama. I think it is one of the best drama in 2017. Anyhow, everybody who likes kinda innovative detective stories and mysteries with good humour and you want see Masaki Aiba as smexy kizoku make sure you watch this drama.
my rating: 7.5/10
