Finding fanfics for your ship in the JJK fandom:

Male character x Reader = Very easy. The most commom ship of the fandom (sadly most of those fics are OOC pornographic trash).

Yaoi = Also easy. Lots of good quality yaoi out there (SatoSugu + Itafushi are everywhere). Just avoid those weird fics that ship Gojo with his students and all those incest fics (specially where Toji Is involved ew). Also, almost all male characters have been shipped at least onece with Gojo regardless of their age or if they have ever interacted together.

Hetero = Normal difficulty I guess (?) There Is good bad and ugly in there, but there are still enough fics (YutaMaki and MechaMiwa RULZ!)

Yuri = Hard, very hard. There Is a lot of Yuri potential but none one knows how to handle it (Momo x Mai in my mind + I'm sure that there was something between Shoko and Utahime).

NB character x Reader = Ummm... Uraume and Kenjaku fuckers are trying their best but it is still vey hard.

Female character x Reader = Extremley hard, almost hopeless (someone write some Yuki x Reader fic or I'll loose it 😭).

The number one reason for me to stop a fanfic, and why I stopped ever posting works in progress, is people nagging about the next update (especially vile, demanding "Update!' within 10 minutes of a chapter going up, wtf.)

The next reason for me to stop posting to a WIP is that the story has somehow become caught up in/related to ongoing trauma in my life. The reason after that is "The showrunners went in such a boneheadedly asinine direction that I no longer care." My abandoned Castle fic had all three going on. People were not only being pushy about demanding updates, they got incredibly snippy when I said that asking for updates would slow my update schedule (that stuff happened on FF.net and literally drove me off the platform.) And I was writing it during a particularly brutal pregnancy in which I got very sick and couldn't walk let alone write. And the showrunners screwed the pooch so badly that I ended up not even finishing the last season because it was garbage writing that made me frustrated at the whole idea of whoever was writing it getting paid to make that dreck. Will never finish.

Yuri On Ice: I still have a literal whole-ass unposted story. I was going to post it when Ice Ado came out. But I also have an unfinished bit that comes before that story. And THAT got caught up emotionally with my mixed feelings about property ownership and the whole *waves hands* thing that was Russia and the Olympics. And Ice Ado didn't come out. And I don't feel like writing the thing that comes next because Russia ended up being even shittier in reality than I was writing it and I'd get all entangled in my feelings about Ukraine and I just don't feel like subjecting myself to that right now. If, for example, Ice Ado happened, maybe I'd rekindle enough interest to work through the other stuff. But for now, nope.

I left my last Check Please fic unfinished for years and couldn't remember why I stopped until I picked it up again and had to reread the series and realized how incredibly much trauma was foreshadowed by the whole thing and then spent weeks triggered while forcing myself to write it so I could be done. I'm glad I finished it, but oy vey. It's all about incompatible need for accommodation and finding ways to feel safe while queer and I was a whole lot more optimistic then than I am now. And in that instance, people literally donated to charity because I said I was willing to finish that story. So it was very much my choice and not because someone nudged.

Given that those are the reasons I might stop posting something, there is literally nothing, not a thing, that someone could say to induce me to start working on something I stopped for good reason. Most of the reasons involve preserving my mental health. People can want what they want, but they don't have to make me part of that wanting. I get enough nagging from my kid, and he's the youngest of three (The others are adults now and don't nag anymore.)

how to ask / motivate your favorite fanfic writers to post new works / update a new chapter WITHOUT rushing them or sounding entitled and rude;

don’t comment “when” or “will there be a next chapter” or “will you continue this?” quite frankly, these type of comments can sound like you’re demanding from your favorite writer, even if it may not be your intention.

if you’d love a sequel or are wondering when or if the fic will be updated, try something like “I love this so much!” *bonus if you explain why you love the fic or what you love about it* and then add something along the line of “if there’s a part 2 of this, I would be so excited / would absolutely love to read it!”

the trick is to avoid a blunt question like “will there be a part 2?” or “it’s been so long. when will you update?” etc.

honestly, DON’T ever comment something like “it’s been ___ months, ___ years” or “I don’t think the author will continue this lol” that’s one of the most effective ways to make sure your favorite author doesn’t come back to your favorite fic, and it’s just so… dishearteningly rude.

it doesn’t matter if it’s been months or years since the author’s last update, demanding and rushing them will most likely NOT give you the result you want.

reminder that fanfic authors are humans with lives and jobs outside of writing fanfiction, especially when fanfic is something they do in their free time out of love and passion, and you — the reader — get to read their works for free.

rushing and demanding will only make it sound like ‘a task that needs to get done’ for your favorite author, and it sucks out the joy of writing out of love and passion. it can be so discouraging for the authors.

fanfic authors don’t owe you anything.

even if they completely abandon the fic, it still doesn’t give you the right to be rude to them or to ask why they stopped writing or to coerce them into giving you what you want.

I can never say this enough; fanfic authors write in their free time, FOR FREE, out of love and passion. and you get to read their works FOR FREE because they’re kind enough to share their love for their comfort characters with you.

they don’t owe you anything.

it’s okay if you’re wondering when or if they’ll post something new, but it’s not okay to rush or demand from them.

comments are mostly what motivate authors into writing faster, so if you want your favorite authors to post more, comment about what you love about their works, express your gratitude to them for giving you these amazing fics for free, but don’t be an entitled reader by rushing or directly asking when they’ll update.

let’s keep fandom space safe and comforting for both writers and readers.

Yuri:

I would say that Yuri wants to be told he’s not a complete fuck-up, but every time he’s been told that, he’s been even less at peace with himself. So. (see: Trahearne’s dialogue regarding Apatia.)

What he REALLY needs to hear is that it does not matter if he’s a fuck-up. I think the Lastborn (our other resident fuck-up) is the first to tell him that, or maybe to cement what Ximone has been trying to tell him all along. Either way, eventually he must become secure with the fact that he has done both tremendous wrong and tremendous good by the people he loves, and that—despite everything—it’ll work out the way it’s meant to. Will he ever make peace with this? Probably not. He has a thick skull and a soft heart and needs to be taught this lesson over and over and over again.

OTHERWISE… take your pick:

From Trahearne: Literally anything that isn’t “kill me” during Trahearne’s No Good Very Bad Elder Dragon Depression  ⠀

From Ximone: Are We Good. You’ll Tell Me If We’re Not Good. We’re Good Right. You Won’t Hide Your Pain Like A Scared Animal Will You. Yuri doesn’t like being shut out of people’s stupid acts of self-sacrifice, especially when he could be the one doing a stupid act of self-sacrifice. <- man who is about to eat his words.   ⠀

From the Lastborn: An answer to the question “What are we……………” at least during their time on the lam, when things are tense and complicated between Yuri and Trahearne. But really, Yuri just doesn’t believe the Lastborn when he says exactly what he means. Mostly he’s afraid that the Lastborn is hiding how he really feels in order to protect Yuri, because it does not compute for him that a guy can be so secure in himself that he doesn’t feel bruised when Yuri takes shelter in him like some kind of older gay mentor-crush. (Nevermind that he’s younger than Yuri, and nevermind that this ends up growing beyond a relationship of convenience.)   ⠀

From Captain Marshal Logan Thackeray himself: something completely deranged and fucked up so that Yuri can finally put an end to this stupid, messy crush that refuses to die. (Ximone knows that no matter what comes out of that man’s mouth, this will not happen.)

The Lastborn:

Oy vey. Going along with the last ask, he does not want to be left behind, and both craves and loathes the idea of unconditional love. I think in general he wants people to be rigorously honest with him and with themselves about the nature of their relationship, because the Lastborn is a career straddler-of-boundaries, and he never knows where he fits in other peoples’ lives. (And I say “boundaries” as in boundaries of identity, more than relationship boundaries.) He is constantly bracing himself for the day when everyone wakes up and realizes he’s no good, or something.

Otherwise:

From Trahearne: we’ve been through this already LOL. But apart from mom-in-law drama, I think the Lastborn really wants to hear Trahearne own the ways in which he has hurt the estranged members of his family, or at least acknowledge their pain as legitimate. Part of this is for the Lastborn’s sake, but part of it is also out of genuine concern for Trahearne’s well-being, what with the whole harboring an Elder Dragon thing. My man you are one of us cockroach motherfuckers now, whether you like it or not. ⠀

From Yuri: Acknowledgements of humanity. Again, something Yuri is typically good at because of his bleeding heart. But when Yuri DOES have genuine beef with a group or with a person, the impulse to write them off as cardboard cutout villains hurts even more. The Lastborn wants him to understand that when he says these things, he isn’t hearing “those bad people over there” but “those bad people and also me, the guy he just inexplicably hasn’t realized is a Bad Person yet.” ⠀

From Ximone: That he’s smart/insightful/thoughtful. He thinks of himself as shallow for this, but it’s both a thrill and a source of imposter syndrome when Ximone—someone whose insight and perspective he really values—sees him that way. ⠀

From Haema: How she Really feels about him leaving the Nightmare Court, fucking off to the Silverwastes, making peace with Trahearne (and, to some extent, the Pale Tree) etc. He would Rather Die than use his words to ask this. At least until he finally gets fed up with himself and just blurts out the unspoken thing, in true Lastborn fashion. ⠀

Trahearne:

That he’s not a monster. but also don’t say that because this means you’ve fallen for mordremoth’s TRICKS!!!!!!!! and also he doesn’t deserve it. it’s messy in here.

Anyway:

From the Lastborn: There’s a conversation that they’re (read: Trahearne is) avoiding having about damage mitigation. I think it’s alien and uncomfortable to Trahearne that the Lastborn can revel in being a social pariah with ~dangerous powers. The Lastborn walks this fine line of rigorous introspection and self-regulation, which he sees as necessary to protect the people around him, while also whole-heartedly living in a world that’s committed to hurting him and testing his limits. (Or at least, he becomes this way after meeting Yuri and Trahearne.) ⠀ I think Trahearne wants practical guidance in this area, and feels like it’s his responsibility to learn how to control this uncontrollable Dragon magic, but admitting that he wants this is as good as admitting that he deserves to live. And also potentially endangers the Lastborn. So he broods about it. ⠀⠀

From Yuri: Oh boy. So many things. Every day is like a game of 6D chess. “Is it ethical for me to do smalltalk with Commander Yuri Six-Cants, knowing that I harbor an Elder Dragon? The greatest thread in the history of forums, locked by a moderator after 12,239 pages of heated debate.” ⠀ While he’s in the pits, I think Trahearne really, truly believes that getting Yuri (and the Lastborn) to accept that he’s a lost cause would bring him peace. But he is also Very aware that part of him still wants to be a part of their lives, what with how often he slips up and falls into old habits. This pulling in and pushing away is frustrating for everyone involved, not the least of which includes him, and it makes his desire for normalcy / a return to what they used to be (but can never, ever be again) all the more painful. ⠀ So like… Wouldn’t you like to know, Commanderboy. ⠀

From Ximone: LOL initially he just wants her to talk some damn sense into Yuri and the Lastborn. But failing that, I think he wants to understand why she fell in with Yuri when he had his little episode. It’s easy for him to write off Yuri’s actions as a lapse in judgement driven by sentimentality (and, like, he’s not wrong.) Substitute sentimentality for nihilism, and he can do the same for the Lastborn. But Ximone is a seasoned veteran at navigating impossible dilemmas, and so she’s harder to write off. I think it takes her two cents to get the shit that Yuri and the Lastborn have been saying to finally start percolating through Trahearne’s thick skull.

And since I play FEH, I was kind of inspired by the Day of Devotion thing they have. So imagine for a moment that it exists in Fodlan also!

Anyway, here you go :) It’s not exactly what you specified, but hopefully you still enjoy!

The day of devotion.

It was a day Manuela once adored. Being an opera star meant she would receive piles of gifts, offers for lavish dinners, and all the attention she wanted from men declaring their devotion to her. She knew hardly any of them were sincere--they were strangers, after all--but to be treated in such a way made her feel like a queen.

But since leaving the opera… it had been a day she dreaded. She had no admirers at Garreg Mach. And now that there was a war going on, she doubted that would change.

Despite the stress of the war, she still saw signs of others celebrating love on that day. Mercedes and Dedue had exchanged elaborate flower arrangements, Dorothea had received several anonymous gifts from unknown admirers, and even Felix of all people had been in the marketplace buying decorated sweets. And it still wasn’t even noon.

It was just too difficult for Manuela to ignore. Surely she could at least have a nice  date with a handsome knight? Or maybe even one of the soldiers?

She sighed. Who was she kidding? They only saw her as a washed up opera singer who was only good for healing.

As she neared the dormitories, she considered Byleth. She had lamented to him her failure to find love on so many occasions that maybe he would take pity on her just this once. He wasn’t exactly known for being romantic, but at this point Manuela would accept even a bad date. And besides, he was far better than Hanneman. She did have some standards.

With renewed hope, she continued toward his quarters. It was the perfect idea, really. Byleth was never interested in anyone, and he probably would be willing to take some time off from thinking about the war.

When she turned the corner, however, she froze in place.

Byleth stood just outside his room, appearing uncharacteristically flustered, his face redder than a tomato. Before him stood Yuri, holding out a bouquet of flowers. Byleth sheepishly took the flowers, smiling sweetly as Yuri kissed him on the cheek.

Manuela immediately turned around and left the area. She sighed once more. Apparently even Byleth had found someone. The stoic, silent professor who was so busy with the war.  To think even he had someone devoted to him.

She needed a drink.

With that she headed back toward her quarters, trying her best to ignore everyone else around her.

Just as she neared her room, she saw Flayn walking through the halls. The girl’s eyes lit up as she saw Manuela.

“Oh, Professor Manuela! I’ve been looking for you.”

“Is someone hurt?”

She smiled, shaking her head. “Oh no, nothing like that. I have something for you.” She held out a small parcel of beautifully wrapped sweets.

Manuela smiled, taking it from her gratefully. “Flayn dear, this is wonderful. Thank you.”

“Of course! You are like family to me, so I must show my appreciation.”

Manuela laughed with joy. “Oh Flayn, you’re so sweet. Thank you, dear.”

With that, she continued on her way to her quarters, feeling less in need of a drink. She entered, wading through the dirty clothes left on the floor, but paused when she spotted something by the door that was most certainly not last week’s shawl. A small envelope had been slipped under the door, sealed neatly with the seal of the church.

She picked it up and sighed. It was likely from Seteth, and today she was not in the mood to be given a warning for her behavior. They were in the middle of a war for goddess’s sake. Now was not the time for Seteth to be criticizing her bad habits.

She almost tossed it aside to get lost on her messy desk, but then she noticed the way her name had been written on the front of the envelope. It had her first name written neatly, as opposed to her last name and professor title. Almost as though it was… personal.

Curiosity got the best of her. She opened it, immediately recognizing Seteth’s handwriting.

Manuela,

I would like for you to join me for a private dinner in my office this evening.

Sincerely,

 For a moment Manuela stood, stunned by what she read. So concise, yet the words made her thing she was dreaming. Did Seteth of all people just ask her one a date?

Maybe her day wouldn’t be so awful after all. In fact, maybe for once in her life she might enter into a stable relationship.

She still had a few doubts, but in that moment, she let herself dream.

 Seteth looked all over his office, nearly putting it into complete disorganization. But still, he could not find it.

There were two possibilities. One, it was lost, and he’d never have to face the embarrassment of giving it to its recipient, or two, someone else found it, and he would be faced with endless embarrassment.

It was the latter that gave him great anxiety.

He was about to go through his entire office once again when Flayn appeared in the doorway, smiling.

“Hello father,” she said, closing the door behind her.

The realization hit him. “Flayn. What did you do with it?”

She tilted her head in feigned confusion. “I do not know what you are talking about.”

“Flayn! You gave it to her, didn’t you?”

She stifled a laugh. “Well, you were never going to do it. Someone had to. And it had to happen today!”

He felt his face become hot. He had wanted to give it to her personally, but could not decide on what exactly to say, or even how to present himself. Goddess, he wasn’t even sure if he wanted to even hint to her that he had those kinds of feelings. 

Flayn stood before him, giving him a reassuring smile. “Father, I think she will appreciate it.”

He let out a deep breath. “I��� I suppose you are right. But Flayn, are you… all right with all this?”

THAT BEING SAID what i think/hope went down with her and her friend was that the friend confessed to her and momoe thought “oh oy vey another straight girl who wants a class s relationship, no thanks.” but it isnt until after the friend’s suicide she realizes “oh shit she was ACTUALLY in love with me oops. and i think i loved her back. fuck.” i think that would be wonderfully tragic. cloverworks hire me.
