#Yuko made the first move -- but Vergil caught her by surprise :3c

While there were several cities and towns that were completely destroyed from the emergence of the tree, there were a few lucky ones that somehow survived with minor damage most of them, weren't so lucky. Thankfully, with all the hard work the devil hunters had put in, there was finally a few cities and towns that were up and running again, although resources were limited, the locations were in full operation.

Deciding to take another much-needed break from devil hunting, and let her experience another taste of how normal life was here before the tree came and ruined everything, forever altering how people lived their lives drastically, and changing the world in a catastrophic way. If only she had come to this world when it was still in one piece, before the tree put an end to normal life here, forcing everyone left into survivor colonies just to stay safe from all the demons, and continue living, to preserve whatever was left of the human race and keep them safe until the world was cleaned up again.

Vergil took Yuko to a new city that was called New Chicago -- which used to be where the windy city of Chicago used to stand, before the tree's roots completely demolished the poor city with four large roots, once this area was officially declared free demon control, humans from the nearby colony started building, while Vergil and Dante stood guard as they finished. Thanks to everything they had done, the people here held the sons of Sparda in high regards. The new city was smaller in size compared to Chicago, but it still held a decent size.

[{ 🗡️ }] - "Welcome to New Chicago, Yuko. The very first city to be up and running to full capacity ever since the tree's emergence."

Even if it was much different than it used to be, it still did feel nice to be walking in a normally operating city again, it was a surreal site. After seeing nothing but rubble, ruin, and even cities taken completely off the map due to a massive amount of collateral damage from the tree's path of death and destruction. It quite a sight to see people living life again, almost like nothing happened at all - although the damage in the outskirts of the city would always sit as a reminder of what happened to the old city, at least people found a way to move on within this brand new city.

After spending the whole day there with Yuko, the pair trying out different restaurants, took her to an arcade where they had a sword slicing game where you sliced up object thrown at you for points. Ending their day, they topped it all off with a movie at the theater -- it felt strange to be inside a cinema again, but also felt nice to live normally again. By the time the film had finished, dark clouds were setting in, thunderclouds in the distance which told them that a storm was coming.

Because the trip back was a long one, the two opted to stay at an inn. As they entered, Vergil gave Yuko the money, and excused himself to the washroom, after washing his hands, he exits, spotting Yuko with the key. Both of them were unware that this particular bedroom they were in, only had one bed, one single queen-sized mattress which meant the two of them would have to share it.

The moment they walk in, Yuko's next sentence confirmed what Vergil was already sort of expecting to happen, this place was a pretty popular city to live in, and with the storm coming, all visitors would more than likely be here. Vergil was just grateful that they always kept one room strictly reserved for Devil Hunters, which was exactly the room they would be spending the night in. The room was nice, had inviting colors, fresh bedsheets and pillowcases, as well as the smell of fresh scented air from candles, so despite the fact they'd be sharing a bed, this room was very spacious, and also very nice.

[{ 🗡️ }] - "Yes, so it would seem. Oh well, we'll just have to make the most of it. All the other rooms are full. Because we're devil hunters, this room is only for us, no one else has access to this room unless they are devil hunters like we are, so this is the best we got."

Vergil wasn't really bothered with the idea of sharing one bed with Yuko, she could trust him, he wasn't going to make any sudden moves on her -- he just didn't think Yuko would be as fine with sharing a bed with him like he was, and he wouldn't blame her if she felt that way.

Despite the situation, the two would start to get ready for bed. Vergil let Yuko have the bathroom first, using this chance, Vergil changed clothes, trading his jacket, undervest, gloves and pants for sleepwear, a dark blue tank top, and black loose-fitting pajama pants. Getting in the bed, Vergil lays in bed, getting himself comfortable in his spot. When Yuko exits the bathroom and comes out in her own sleepwear, the half-devil looks over at her.

[{ 🗡️ }] - "Yuko. It's okay to come to bed, I won't make any sudden movements." He says reassuringly.

Once the two are bed together, there's a hint of awkwardness in the room, this was the first time they had ever slept this close before. Soon, thankfully the awkwardness suddenly passes, almost like they were both adjusting to this. The two give each other a side glance, but look away before their eyes meet.

Now that the air in the room felt normal again, Vergil decided to use it to his advantage and take this chance to sleep. Keeping true to his word, he remains on his side of the bed, closing his eyes and trying to drift off. Seconds later, there's the sound of the bed springs very lightly shifting, Yuko was moving over, closer to him even, still, he kept his eyes closed just in case. A moment later, he feels a warmth on his shoulder. Opening his eye, he sees Yuko laying her head onto her shoulder.

If she was comfortable with this, Vergil had another idea, one to pass that boundary line even further, In a quick swoop, Vergil gently, but firmly turns Yuko over onto her side, and pulling her into a spooning cuddle, wrapping his arms around her, his hands resting along her waist. Yuko seems caught off guard at first, but after a few minutes of laying like that, with Vergil's arms wrapped around her, Vergil feels her put her hand gently over top of his.

After the two both of them adjusted, and got comfortable spooning. Vergil kept Yuko wrapped in his arms, the entire time, neither said a word, just savoring this silent, and tender moment they were sharing together. The future was unknown, but as long as he had Yuko by his side, he would be able to face anything. Both devils eventually drifted off to a peaceful sleep, enjoying the feeling of how close they were laying, taking in each others warmth and presence.
