Yuki Yoza vs Petchdam Petchyindee Academy - K-1 World MAX 2024
K-1 Lightweight champion Yuki Yoza fought last month at the big K-1 World Max 2024 card against former ONE champion kickboxing champion and Lumpinee stadium champion Petchdam. For those not familiar with Yoza, he is one of the most fascinating kickers in combat sports at the moment. Has crazy hip dexterity and is able to kick people at angles that are completely unexpected. Really entertaining fighter.

Objectively awful year for K-1. Lost a ton of their homegrown talents. Can't figure out their international broadcasting situation. The most positive thing to happen for them was Chingiz Allazov showing up to corner one of his teammates.

Yuki Yoza vs Kan Nakamura - RISE ELDORADO 2024
K-1 Lightweight Champion Yuki Yoza managed to do his thing and represent K-1 properly, picking up a win over the RISE LW champion earlier this year. The talented kicker is set to return for the big K-1 World MAX 2024 - World Championship Tournament Final card this Sunday (July 7). He will face off against Thai fighter Kongnapa Weerasakreck, a former K-1 Lightweight champion himself.

Taio Asahisa vs Yuki Yoza 1 - 2/27/2022
One of the funnier bits of J-Kick are when champions lose in non-title matches and then have to face that person again immediately for a title. There’s something very pro-wrestling about that that I really like.
K-1 Lightweight champion Taio Asahisa dropped a decision to Yuki Yoza a little over a year ago. And while Yoza went out and picked up two more wins in the interim, Asahisa has been left to stew. The two will finally have their rematch for the title at K’Festa 6 this Saturday (March 11).

We got a bunch of big MMA cards going down today as well as the K-1 Grand Prix. All the cards are in Europe or Japan so, be mindful of start times.
We have PFL Europe 2024 3 from Scotland. We have the playoffs for their tournament. Some good prospects on that card, including Shanelle Dyer. But also veterans like Stevie Ray, Rob Whiteford, and Roger Huerta. Card starts at 12 pm ET.
The UFC is in Paris this week. Some good fights on the card with some recognizable names. Renato Moicano vs Benoit Saint Denis and Nassourdine Imavov vs Brendan Allen in the headlining spots with appearances from Joanderson Brito, Charriere, Ludovin Klein, Taylor Lapilus, Jacky Cavalcante, Nora Cornolle, and more. Not bad. Card starts 12 pm ET too.
More women’s boxing! The WBO Lightweight title is on the line as champion Rhiannon Dixon takes on former 140lb champ Terri Harper. Plus it features Olympic champion Galal Yafai, which is cool. Card starts at 2pm ET.
We have a big card going down in Japan tonight. RIZIN 48 will be free for via RIZIN TV! Which is dope! Plenty of fun fights on the card. Satoshi Souza vs Luiz Gustavo for the LW title, Naoki Inoue vs Soo Chul Kim for the BW title, Yuki Motoya vs Olympic wrestler Shinobu Ota, Seika Izawa vs Kanna Asakura, Yusuke Yachi vs Sho Patrick Usami, and more. Great intro card for people who have never seen RIZIN. Card will start at 1am ET for those in the US.
-sigh- K-1’s 55kg world Grand Prix continues. Sadly, no legal way to watch outside of Japan. Iykyk though and there are ways to watch. All the big hitters are on this one - Yuki Yoza, Taito Gunji, Liu Ce, Masashi Kumura, Akihiro Kaneko, etc. card starts at 10:30 pm ET tonight.

Didn’t realize how loaded March is.
Rise El Dorado on the 16th with Shiro vs Toki Tamaru! Plus all the K-1 vs Rise fights like Kan Nakamura vs Yuki Yoza and Akihiro Kaneko vs Masahiko Suzuki.
We got the big K-1 World Max card featuring the first round of the 70 KG tournament: Ouyang Feng, Davit Kiria, Thananchai, Hiromitsu Wajima, Stoyan Koprivlenski, and more. And you got Liu Ce vs Sina Kirimian for the Cruiserweight title, Antonina Prifti vs SAHO for the flyweight title. Another batch of K-1 vs Rise fights: Taito Gunji vs Keisuke Monguchi, Miyuu Sugawara vs Koyuzki Miyazaki, Yuki Egawa vs Houma Hitachu, and Shoki Kaneda vs Daiki Toita. Plus you got Masashu Kumura, Koya Urabe, Leona Pettas, Panchan Rina, Remi Parra, and Hirotaka Asahisa on the card. Just loaded.
Over in boxing you got Tim Tszyu vs Keith Thurman, Seniesa Estrada vs Yokasta Valle, Oscar Valdez vs Liam Wilson, and William Zepeda vs Maxi Hughes. Not as loaded but some solid fights in there.
Point being good month.
Finally feels like 2024 is kicking into gear after the early year slow down. Lots of great fights happening this week.
PFL Europe 1 on Thursday with Cedric Doumbe vs Baki and a Lazy King fight. Joshua-Ngannou with Zhang-Parker, Madrimov-Kurbanov, and Rey Vargas fight on Friday. ONE’s all women’s card on Friday featuring Petjeeja vs Janet Todd, Chihiro Sawada’s ONE debut, Allycia Rodrigues vs Cristina Morales, Martine Michieletto vs Jackie Buntan, and Yau Pui Yu fighting. You got UFC 299 this Saturday which is what from top to bottom (cept maybe the main event but whatevs). Poirier vs BSD, JDM vs Burns, Yan vs Sadong, Kevin Holland vs MVP, and some really good prelim bouts. And you also have the Glory Heavyweight Grand Prix on Saturday. YMMV for heavyweights but this is a good tournament on paper and I’m a sucker for one night tourneys. Plus it will feature a Tyjani Beztati title defense against Enriko Kehl.
Just a fantastic week of fights. Excited.
