People are getting really weird about the oblivion remake. It's a Microsoft product so it's part of the boycott, so people are going to say not to buy it.

But I see this a lot whenever something popular is being boycotted for whatever reason, people acting like it's inherently bad and the people who even WANT to engage with it are somehow dumb or stupid.

Like, that's just kind of unhelpful. The morality issues of paying for something doesn't make it somehow ungodly awful when it comes to quality, nor does it make the people who would enjoy playing it otherwise stupid. There's not a rule of the universe that bad people can't make good things. And the fact that people might have to, y'know, choose to stick to their morals over something they enjoy is important. I don't mean in the sense that these people need to be congratulated for not buying a game or anything like that. But that if you intend to stick to your morals, you're probably going to end up in a situation like this where you have to boycott something you want. It's not going to just be garbage or things you hate. Boycotting stuff you want to buy is what makes it a boycott. Denying them support you'd otherwise give them for a specific reason is where the pressure comes from. You're not really boycotting something if you were never going to give them your money in the first place. So acting like an ass to the people feeling a bit sad they can't get the game they want isn't really doing anything for anyone.
