I agree with this!
The amount of hate and death wishes y'all sending Horikoshi is inexcusable. It’s not the author’s fault you can’t understand what he’s tried to accomplish with this Endeavor’s arc. It’s not the author’s fault you’re all refusing to accept the explanation many of us are giving you. “He should die because he’s trying to make us forgive an abuser” where? bitch, where. Where is he trying to make you forgive Endeavor? That’s you being conflicted because he made you want to cheer for Endeavor to win. Because Hori drew/wrote these chapters wonderfully and he’s making you feel conflicted. Because who would have taught that Endeavor, national paternal garbage, could be so amazing at his job? Because he’s making you relate to his son Shouto Todoroki. You can’t stand Endeavor because you know what this man did, yet you’re not 100% sure you want him dead. Horikoshi is trying to write something complex. He’s trying to elevate this shonen to another level, and that’s good. He’s delivering good content. And these people who are “so upset” they think it’s acceptable to insult an author or worse because they’re too thick to understand what’s happening - it doesn’t even take a genius. Like, it’s written/illustrated clearly - have to stop. Stick to your beloved characters. Or simply drop the manga. Stop bothering Horikoshi or the people who like this arc. Grow up. Or drop the manga.
Drop the manga.

What if Deku actually had the quirk to steal other quirks? (Villain Deku headcanon)
Purely villain deku? I think that’d be an interesting thing to see, is it literally if he wants to steal someones quirk he can, like permanently and for as long as he uses the other is basically quirkless until Deku stops? We need a bit of realistic (whatever realist means in Bnha) ness here. I think Deku would be outcasted like in canon except this time he would be bullied way more, Kacchan wouldn’t touch deku but he would definitely hurt him with his explosion quirk more.
Im putting it as Deku making physical contact and wanting the quirk not just the quirk activating on its own. So when hes young and amazed by Kacchans quirk Kacchan pushes him or something and his hands start making little explosion, when Kacchan sees this he gets angry and tries to use his but finds it doesnt work. After They freak out and such Kacchan gets his quirk back but he’s still creeped out that someone was able to take something from him that made him well himself.
I think Deku would try really hard to be a hero but everyone would tell him he does nothing but bad (similar to how people feel scared being near Shinsou cause of his quirk) eventually unlike Shinsou though he starts believing it. HC that in this his father leaves him because of his quirk, a child that can steal your quirk no thanks. His mom tries to be supportive but flinches whenever he tries make contact or hug her. I think he would still take notes on heroes but eventually find it much easier to steal quirks and use it to his advantage.
Lets say he gets into Yuuei somehow (steals and uses other peoples quirks, those people failed, Deku felt no sympathy) but hes not put in class A-1 heroics but in the general department. (Hero Teachers were wary of teaching someone with a stealing quirk ability to use it for something) so of course Deku is pissed, he wanted to be a hero but even the pros thought he was a freak. Kacchan avoids him when they walk back home, so he doesnt notice when Deku is grabbed and dragged into a dark alley. There he mets, you guessed it Black Mist (we all know Shigaraki would freak him out and that would get the VA nowhere so BM went instead)
Surprsingly it didnt take much persuasion, talking about how everyone is against you and your family spilt because of you can really change a persons path. Deku would still be in Yuuei just not as a hero obsessed student, hed be a spy. Hed take notes of everything that happens that he can find in Yuuei and report it to the VA. He makes friends with Shinsou of course and Neito weirdly (apparently copy cat quirky and hating class A-1 kids gotta stick together)
Since only Kacchan and Eraserhead (since he refused to have Deku in his class) know his face and such he is unable to help out much during the Breach with 13. He’s to take notes on each students quirks and report back. It doesn’t work out well since he gets caught in the fighting (stupid lackeys not knowing he’s helping them, he’s also wearing a Yuuei training outfit soooo) he’s dropped off where Todoroki and Hagakure are, he’s surrounded but saved by Todoroki who didn’t know there was a another student here but cmon he’s not going to let the kid get killed. Its weird since for once someone saved him without hesitation (during the sludge incident All Might was hesitant to help Deku after seeing his quirk in action to get the sludge monster off) Deku is taken by Todorokis ice quirk and immediately recognizes him as Endeavors son, however instead of being amazed hes a little bitter on the top 2 hero, which Todoroki is taken back but slightly pleased and very curious as to why. He noticed Hagakure (just cause her face is invisible doesnt mean her training clothes are), When All Might is fighting the Noumu, Deku slips away without anyone really noticing (except Todoroki but he’s preoccupied)
After the whole thing, where Deku was found to be excused from class (thank you Shinsou’s quirk, the boy never noticed his quirk was stolen) to be there and scolded. He did however gain an in with the Class A-1 kids, thanks to Todoroki being a bit worried and talking to him which caused a few other students to talk to him Hagakure clung to him since he talked to her during the incident a bit. Thats all i got for now Sorry this is long!!!! I got really into it

"Weapon" Rin
People, I just came up with the most massive Ao no Exorcist theory because what else are showers for. It may be a giant “duh” to many but just in case it isn’t to some… Right from the start, we’ve been told that Rin was raised as a weapon against Satan. Now, when we think “weapon” we think “violence”. Epic battle imminent, right? The forces of evil versus the forces of good. Classic. But today I was thinking about how the second season anime has been revealing certain plot elements of the manga. And maybe Rin isn’t intended to be the general/ ace-up-the-sleeve secret massive railgun of a giant war at all. This is gonna be long, but please ear me out. So: second season of the anime. Kinda weird, kinda rushed, as so often when the people who produce the anime have to come up with an original ending for the show, because they caught up to the manga and are now out-running it. But, we can be certain Kato told them at least some things of what she planned to do. For instance: -A giant evil organisation working against the True Cross Order, -Yukio going darkside, -Mephisto’s abandoned laboratory for creating artificial life, -both the twin’s powers fully awakening. Things didn’t happen exactly like they do in the manga, but the core is definitely there. Now, consider: Anime!Yuri. Anime!Yuri is a massive hippie who loves demons, and upon meeting Satan, feels sorry for him and lets him use her body as a vessel willingly. But what is particularly interesting, is that Yuri isn’t overshadowed by him. Rather, they remain two separate personalities, and can talk. Doesn’t that sound familiar?
As a result of his time with Anime!Yuri, Satan becomes less destructive. He still wields massive power and is easily agitated, but Yuri encourages him to use his powers to create a better world for humans & demons alike. In fact, she doesn’t sound entirely unlike some other character:
…Which brings me to the core of the matter. The one who holds all the strings, who steers all the characters on the play board… The manipulative but brilliant asshole who has been orchestrating everything and whom we still don’t know shit about.
Mephisto. Along with Azazel and the Emperors, Mephisto is on “team humans”. We still don’t know why exactly Mephisto thinks humans “show merit” or why he enjoys Assiah so much (though I’ve previously theorized that because his “kin” possesses man-made objects, he wouldn’t have much to rule over without them). All we know is that “team humans” has been giving human the means to fight demons.
It is suggested that humans might have been the ones who created demons in the first place: After all, they are concepts. *Hilarious theories of how demons created religion how’s that for a paradox -dudes imagine the look on Angel’s face if that were true* …But nothing suggests that they need humans once their ego has sprouted. However, it is very clear that human belief still influences demons. With enough conviction, they can be bound as familiars:
And destroyed by words & gestures:
In the AnE verse, it is made very clear that the power of belief is everything. And nobody seems more aware of this than Mephisto. And it is quite possible that this is simply because he has been staying in Assiah longer than any other demon and observed first-hand how human choices shape the future. It has been very strongly hinted in chapter 99 that he has been rewinding & rewriting timelines in order to get the one he wants. For some reason, thus far every one involving telling Yukio about the whole how & why of the twins birth and continued existence has apparently backfired, so now he’s betting it all on Rin:
And what’s more, he has been staying in the same body for longer than any other demon. He seems very attached to it. According to chapter 86, the only one of the demon kings who can stay in the same body for an extended period because of his powers of Time. He can most likely put his body in some sort of stasis to keep it from deteriorating. BUT, he is not invincible. It is suggested in chapter 94 that he will, at some point, lose or let go of his body.
Yet, as pointed out by Lewin in chapter 84, he has a research facility with immortality elixir & cloned replicas in his basement. So why not simply replace/ enhance the one he’s using now? Because the clones aren’t as good as the original? Unlikely, since they managed to artificially create a body so strong it could hold Satan himself, however briefly. Maybe all good ones were destroyed on Blue Night, and now that the facility is in ruin and only has one mad scientist left, new one clones or elixir can’t be made that simply? Is THAT why he’s after Lucifer, because of his resources?
Frankly, I can’t imagine a genius like Mephisto not having some sort of back-up plan. especially if he can do things like copy-paste entire facilities into a different dimension and start things over in a different timeline it seems strange he hasn’t stored away some extra bodies. Rather, it seems like he has given up the whole artificial life & elixir research entirely (and there’s the anime-canon again!). For whatever reason, it wasn’t feasible. Just like telling Yukio what he wanted to know didn’t work out. To summarize: By now there probably isn’t a single entity who knows more about both human spirit and the relation between a demon and his host body than Mephisto. Now think back to Anime!Yuri and Manga!Rin & Yukio. And consider this quote, the super-vague wtf-is-he-talking-about one.
I think Rin might actually not have to fight with his body at all. As we know, the control Rin has over his flames has everything to do with the control he has over his own mind and emotions. Perhaps the reason Mephisto abandoned the idea of creating artificial hosts, is because he found the perfect ones already: He INTENDS to give the twins to both Lucifer & Satan respectively- once they are ready and he can be sure that neither will budge to the force that tries to overtake them. Spirits not in control of, but imprisoned in a human body. After all- he already came pretty close to creating something like that before…

When I was about a year into my eating disorder, about 13 or 14, I had one of the worst experiences of my life. I was in orchestra, took so much pride in it, first chair of the viola section, looked at my director as a role model. I hadn’t eaten lunch the entire year and he knew this. He had a habit of stopping class to tell random ass stories that nobody gave a shit about. He starts telling us about a woman he used to work with, her name, how old she was and so on.
And then he started describing her eating disorder.
She was bulimic, and every single day, she’d go into the bathroom and throw up whatever it was that she ate that day, She was so skinny, he said he tail bone was starting to pop out of her skin (I doubt any credibility behind that). he started talking about how he heard her once, in the bathroom, and how disgusting it was. He apparently confronted her about it soon after, and she stopped showing up to work.
Despite her not showing up to work anymore, he continued this horrible speech.
This wasn’t a self-love speech.
He started saying how disgusting and weird it was. Talking about “you girls care so much about your appearance, you’d actually do something this disgusting and weird?”
Me, having anxiety and panic attacks, i started crying in front of the entire class, and all I could hear was the class talking about what an ugly freak she must have been. How weird it was. How if they ever saw her, they’d force her to eat something. The director noticed how shaken up I was, but didn’t stop. I managed to ask him if we could please stop talking about this, quiet enough to where nobody else heard, and he said yes. We stopped, and continued on with class like it was nothing.
Every single day, I’d get a salad, with just tomatoes and lettuce, and I’d throw it away every day. My class started noticing and started saying stuff like “What are you, a fucking anorexic?” and of course it was followed by a “ Of course not, look at her”. and so on and so forth. I had two suicide attempts later that year, both by pills, both didn’t work, both nobody knew about.
Please stop mocking eating disorders. Please.
Please stand up and say something if you hear someone mocking eating disorders.

Why Mephisto is so willing to tell Rin everything, but not Yukio…
Throughout the series we have followed Yukio and Rin’s actions and seen who they are. Basically, though it’s well hidden, Rin is much more mature than Yukio is. Yukio wants to know the answers to everything and cannot accept things he does not like. He places himself in danger and has the urge to be better, stronger than everyone else, and is rather bitter when he is not.
This makes him very child-like:
Rin, however, understands he can’t know everything (though he wants to) and has the capability to accept things he doesn’t like. He tries to subvert danger, but neutralizes it when it occurs in a way that is sensible; at least, to him (see: Rin saving Kuro, Rin handling the Impure King, Rin with the Kraken, Rin with the 7 mysteries of True Cross, ETC). He tries to solve problems. He may feel inferior to others but instead of being bitter (like Yukio), he strives to better himself.
This makes him adult-like.
Mephisto has recognized their behaviors. He knows Yukio is very childish and bratty, and therefore doesn’t believe he deserves the answers he seeks. He is, in Mephisto’s eyes, unworthy because he is childlike. Mephisto views Rin as more mature, but he’s also recognized how static Rin tends to be. He’s been subtly pushing Rin to ask questions because he feels Rin is deserving of knowing the answers. Hence why he’s so willing to tell Rin everything and why he was so excited when Rin finally asked.
———
On a side note, an idea from @hailsshard
Mephisto is certain that Rin is more mature than Yukio. Why? I’ll explain.
Mephisto is clearly an omniscient character. He is aware that we are reading the story. Since he frequently breaks the fourth wall, is it so forward to assume that the anime was actually an alternate universe that Mephisto spectated over? Perhaps Mephisto has known from the start how unstable Yukio could be, since he’s already seen it before. He watched Yukio try to esponge the world of demons using his own brother as a sacrifice, unable to accept his brother for what he is. He’s seen how utterly ruthless and stupid Yukio could be. He’s seen Satan possess the moron.
Perhaps he was so unwilling to tell Yukio anything, not only because he’s an asshole who just wanted to be a catalyst for the end of the world, but because he knew how Yukio would react all along?
