Has Zenitsu lost the sparkle of hope in his eyes?
If we see the eyes of other Kny characters some have that sparkle/light on their eyes. For example:
Tumblr media
Even some of them regained theirs, Kanao and Muichiro.
But then we have some that lost theirs seemly forever:
Tumblr media
BUT, does Zenitsu fall into this category??
Tumblr media
Not even with nezuko they have that light:
Tumblr media
So what happened to this boi to forever lost his sparkle of hope?
He even married the girl he loved and had a family yet:
Tumblr media
Has no sparkle.
BUT THEN HIS REEINCARNATION/DESCENDENT ALSO HAS NO SPARKLE?!?!?!
Tumblr media
Tell me why?!

In another life, let's meet again
Tumblr media
I was waking up a month later.
It was a long sleep. I dream of my brother, my family. We are all happy, my mom, still small but her smiles was so bright, even more brighter than sun. We played a lot, my sisters took me to their new home. It's so pretty, as if we are just a normal happy family.
And then, in a part of my journey, i found my old friend masachika along the road. He as cheeky as ever of course he never changed but if there was, he looked like he really free and happy there. His face was no longer scarred. And we talk a lot too. Even then, he acting like a big brother fo me. An annoying but loving one too.
I met Iguro. Oh I'm surprised, he was smiling brightly, no bandage not even a humiliating scar that he try to hide everytime we met. Is it because mitsuri? They both look like a husband and wife, i feel like I'm third wheeling them hard. Iguro spoke a lot, with a nice smile in his face. Although i don't remember much about it. Sometimes his eyes seems sad, his hand moved towards his neck, touching something. Iguro, did you miss Kaburamaru ?
I feel like i don't want to wake up again.... there's a lot i want to tell them. I want to meet them again! Drinking tea, playing and just casually telling some mundane things we always had. I has a lot of regret mom, genya, masachika, iguro.
Even if it take hundreds years! Let's meet again,in a normal circumstances!
......
2022, TOKYO CITY
"Youuu scary looking policeman waittt!!!!"
"Huh????? What are you saying??" He was startled. A short young man, appeared to be a restaurant owner running towards him. He was on duty patrolling the area and it almost a lunch hour. His subordinate, a younger policeman with the same scar on his face was also in shock with the sudden scream.
Tumblr media
"Could you just take away this kid, and restrain him from me???"
"Huh????? Hello mister- not so good, grumpy cooks- everybody dislike??? I'm not doing anything to your wife what the hell???" Another annoying looking black hair school kid was behind him, triggered with the owners complain.
"Shut up you are staring her like there's no tomorrow!!" The two was having argument in front of the two policemen who was dumbfounded. Sanehiro put his hand to both of their shoulder.
"you two should shut...the hell up before i send you both to jail"
....
He was having a nice lunch in the man restaurant. The two, an adult and a school kid who just having a (forced) settlement was sit together in front of him and his subordinate.
Tumblr media
"Not bad, the portion is huge too and the price is reasonable. We should come here often Genya" his bowl of ramen was empty. He was full. His subordinate just smile.
"yeah, it's good"
The wife coming with her smile. She was holding a little notebook in her hand.
"Thank you, i hope you enjoy. Oh and I'm sorry for my husband's antique. He sometimes like that"
"it's this kid, not me" the husband was obviously sulking. Sanehiro just sigh.
"oh before i leave i want to introduce myself, I'm not a scary looking policemen by the way," he stared at the restaurant owner before continuing "..my name Sanehiro Shinazugawa and this is my subordinate Genya, we just newly stationed in this area" the restaurant owner accepting his handshake.
"Oh, no wonder i never met you, I'm Iguro and this is my wife Kanroji. This annoying kid is just my regular living two block from here, Yoshiteru Agatsuma. Nice to meet you"
"Heyyyy!!! I don't believe it! Why you give my details to the police??" The kid, as angry as ever. Genya just laughing. These two looked like a pair of annoying siblings.
"Shut up, respect your elder"
Kanroji smiling and give two of them their business card.
"We do delivery too if you want to order within Tokyo. Thank you,"
....
Sanehiro and Genya come to the restaurant as often since then, getting closer with the owner, even watching their favourite football match together.
"Hello, welcome to MiMi Restaurant, beef ramen bowl ?"
"Yes as usual!! Your are glowing as ever Kanroji san!" The loud voice in front of the door attracted him. Sanehiro watching a middle sized young man, with a soft look smiling brightly.
"Iguro san! Long time no see!"
"Masachika san, sit here, how's your work in Hokkaido?"
He sight.
"Understandable but the pay must be delicious didn't it?" Iguro just smirking from the kitchen, his hand moved fast.
"well fortunately, eh, i never see you around here. New customer?" Masachika saw the two policemen. As usual after they introduced each other, the talk a lot. Sanehiro was amazed on how talkative masachika was.
Tumblr media
"iguro san, I'll go out to pick up them at Ubayashiki san home, alright?" Kanroji come while holding her car keys.
"Be careful"
Sanehiro was just watching at her, smiling at each other before asking Iguro.
"Ubayashiki san? That oldest man? You know him?" Sanehiro was slurping his ramen soup, watching Kanroji went out to pick up her child
"yeah, that old man was a regular here but since he wasn't as healthy as before to come here often we sometimes delivered food there and he seem fond of my youngest child so he love to visit him. He was my children's favourite old man other than our parents. All that story about killing demons that my son love to hear haha " Iguro was preparing some drink for his customers. He was talking about his children fondly, quite a surprise for sanehiro as Iguro looked like a reserved person but he guess, fatherhood did wonder to people.
Sanehiro was smiling .'what a lovely neighborhood'
.....
His relationship among the people there were getting better especially those from the restaurant. Sanehiro feels that his life went smoothly, his parents and siblings, too help him a lot. He come from a big family, but there's nothing too troublesome about their life. Except maybe for their living expenses.
Tumblr media
"Mom I'm going to work first!"
"Alright be careful, tell Genya to come here today for your sister's birthday!"
"yupp !"
....
This time, it started again. Hopefully for a more peaceful conclusion and no regrets among them.
"Meow"
"let's go chachamaru"

Another fic of mine, which is technically TanZen, is Kitsune are Stunned by the Moon
Status: Finished oneshot (but there's way more the AU)
Summary
Sumihiko can parkour like no one's business, is always trying to catch up on sleep, refuses to do extra curricular activities, and is Kamado Tanjirō's descendant/reincarnation? Coincidence I think not. The Fox Mask vigilante is Sumihiko and he usually does a pretty good job of not being caught. Unfortunately, his boyfriend is part of the police force and Sumihiko worries. Yoshiteru does his best to keep his dumb boyfriend from being arrested. Too bad Sumihiko is too busy being stunned by him to make his getaway.
Now I mainly wrote this because a friend was a sucker for seeing kabedon done in fics. However, this one shot is so old it doesn't even really fit with the rest of the AU. Basically I've brainstormed so much for what will one day be the story Nogitsune that most of the things in this fic have been changed. Regardless, I still think it's a cute story about Sumihiko and Yoshiteru. Although, it seems like people don't care all too much for the reincarnations/descendants. I still love them. Sumihiko has some inherited memories from Tanjirō (and nightmares) so idk to me they're TanZen pt 2.

Kamado Family Name Analysis
竈門: Kamado A rare but existing surname, the hearth (竈, kamado) is also an important gateway (門) through which disease can enter a home and make a family sick, so it therefore needed special attention in order to keep the family healthy. Likewise, it required care so as not to cause fire damage. However, it was likewise the source of sustenance for a house’s inhabitants, so the state of a hearth also reflects the state of the family. To say things are lively around a hearth is to say that a family is doing well, to say that the hearth is broken is to say that they’ve lost their fortune, and so on. You could also think of the fire itself sometimes being a cause for danger, something susceptible to evil influence, like how it might burn humans, so it took having a god of the health to protect against that too. These are reasons why the god of the hearth has been worshiped since ancient times, not only for protection from the dangers of fire, but also for prosperity.
As for the the personal names throughout the generations, follow me below...
Sengoku Period (often considered 1467–1568, though other dates are in use):
炭吉: Sumiyoshi Although you don’t typically see charcoal (炭, as sumi or tan) in a name, 吉 isn’t all that uncommon, whether as yoshi or kichi. It means “luck.” It’s worth stating right away that although making charcoal means working with fire for a few days at a time, it also means the longer-term work of forest management. A charcoal worker is nothing without plants. Notice the 山 (mountain, yama) that is also with 火 (fire, often hi or ka) in the 炭.
すやこ: Suyako Presented only in phonetic hiragana, we don’t have kanji to read into, but this is a pretty clever name. Because how -ko makes it sound like a typical girl’s name, similar to her descendants Nezuko and Hanako, the su also makes it feel similar to the rest of her family. Suya doesn’t really mean anything on its own, but suyasuya is an onomatopoeia for “sleeping soundly.”
すみれ: Sumire Another clever one presented only in phonetic hiragana. Sumi makes it sound like she inherited the charcoal family name, but sumire means “violet,” so this is a precursor to later Kamado family naming trends. (However, the flowers she gave Yoriichi were not violets, but Catharanthus roseus—as a fun tidbit, these are called nichinichisou, that is, “sun-sun-grass” (日々草).)
Meiji Period (1868–1912) & Taisho Period (1912–1926):
炭十郎: Tanjuurou (Whatever)+郎(rou) is pretty common in men’s names, since it’s basically like adding “son” to the end of boy’s name. Using numbers in men’s names (like the number 10 here, 十) used to be relatively common too.
葵枝: Kie Although 葵 (aoi or ki) is commonly translated as “hollyhock” (due to being conflated with tachiaoi), it is more accurately translated as “wild ginger,” but this is annoying because even though it has a similar scent, it is not actually related to ginger. Let’s just call this low-growing herb aoi, since it has a lot of religious connotations with ancient shrines and festivals—but this is also annoying, because there is a character named Aoi and her name is written phonetically and might be in reference to the color. So let’s use the Latin name for this genus, Asarum. 枝 (e) is “branch,” so Kie’s name is literally “a branch of Asarum.” But, if we want to go a step further, in older ways of transcribing Japanese, 葵 used to be written phonetically as a-fu-hi with a-fu meaning “to encounter (later on transcribed as au)” and hi being a word representing a god’s power, so it’s said that the a-fu-hi/aoi plant symbolizes coming upon incredible power. How ironic that Kie married into a family known for Hinokami Kagura.
炭治郎: Tanjirou We’ve covered 炭 and 郎, so why the 治? This is a pretty common way of adding the ji sound to a guy’s name (like Hakuji), but why this one instead of, say 次 or 二? This may be because Gotouge wanted to give his name both fire (火) and water (水)! You can see the fire in the charcoal kanji, but the three dots at the left side of 治 are the water radical, which often means the kanji might have some association with water. Although 治 literally means things more like “quell” or “reign” or even “heal,” it can also mean being in control of something like a river.
禰豆子: Nezuko First off, most OS systems do not express this first kanji correctly. The left radical would look more like ネ, with 爾 on the right. Alas, 禰 (ne) is a bit of a rare kanji in the first place, meaning “ancestral shrine.” This is kind of heartwarming what with how connected Nezuko is with her family, and how the checkerboard pattern the Kamado family uses also denotes a continuity of family. As for the 豆 (zu or dzu or mame), this is “bean.” Beans are deeply tied with warding off demons. This is especially seen in the Setsubun custom of throwing beans at demons to cast them off. But, more recently I stumbled upon the knowledge that the kurobe tree (Japanese arborvitae/Thuja standishii), a coniferous evergreen with flattened branchlets, is also called nezuko (in phonetic katakana, ネズコ).
竹雄: Takeo “Bamboo man,” with 雄 (o or yuu or other readings) being a pretty common thing to stick to the end of a man’s name. It’s a kanji with a sort of heroic ring to it if you're adding the masculine -o ending anyway). Fast-growing bamboo (竹, take) can be a problem if, say, you primarily focus on making charcoal out of oak, but bamboo charcoal has a lot of uses for keeping spaces around the home free from humidity and bugs. What’s more, bamboo itself is a bit of a heroic plant—it grows straight, stays strong through the winter, and can stand a lot of pressure and still flexibly bounce back. I've also heard of it being associated with happiness because there is a bamboo radical at the top of the kanji for "smile/laugh" (笑).
花子: Hanako “Flower Child.” The plants are a bit obvious in this one.
茂: Shigeru Another common manly name, “to flourish.” Like plants would flourish.
六太: Rokuta I have tried really, really hard to look for hidden meaning this one. He’s just “six” (六, roku) with another common way of ending a boy’s name, 太 (ta or tai, for grand, broad, magnificent, or fat). Tanjuurou and Kie weren’t feeling very creative by the time they got to this one. Couldn’t you guys at least have given him a plant reference? That would have really helped my meta out, thanks. But maybe not all is lost on this name! After all, remember how we might conflate 火 (fire/hi) with 日 (sun/hi) in Hinokami Kagura? Arguably, the sun is just as important for charcoal workers who manage the forest! 日 is not the only way of writing "sun." There is also 太陽 (taiyou)!
Heisei Period (1989–2019) & Reiwa Period (2019–current):
カナタ: Kanata KAMADO FAMILY, EXPLAIN. First off, nobody else born into the family has a name in katakana, and by the era Kanata is born, this would be pretty unusual for a boy. I can only assume this choice was made in order to make an obvious connection to his great-great-grandmother’s name, カナヲ (Kanao). That being said, did they simply forget to give their eldest son the traditional charcoal name? Or did they notice a plethora of girls throughout this series named “Sumi” and decided to avoid it? In that case, too bad they forgot all about the existence of Ubuyashiki Kanata! (Her name was written in phonetic hiragana, かなた.)
炭彦: Sumihiko Oh good, the Kamado family got their act together and remembered the kanji they were supposed to pass on. As for that -hiko, I’ve heard some Japanese fans try to read into how it was also used in one of Muzan’s fake names, 月彦 (Tsukihiko, as he went by in Asakusa when married to a woman named Rei), but 彦 (hiko) is also so common at the end of men’s names that I don’t see any merit in digging for connections. What we can dig into, though, is 和語 (wago), that is, native Japanese words that existed before the influence of Chinese and the writing system that went with it. Hiko meant “a boy endowed with a divine spirit” (the equivalent for a girl was hime, which you might recognize later became a word for “princess.”) And why stop there? This still brings us back to hi, the divine power that is sometimes just a divine power, sometimes is fire, and often is the sun.
Speaking of the sun, here’s a couple honorary Kamado descendants, because they have really good homage built into their names:
燈子: Touko Remember that 火 (hi) character for fire which you can also find in charcoal 炭? It’s fitting that fiery Nezuko’s great-granddaughter has it built into her name! The 燈 (lantern/tou) has all sorts of hopeful, positive connotations about keeping a light going in the darkness.
善照: Yoshiteru Another clever one! Yoshi is another reading of the zen kanji (善, virtue) used in Zenitsu's name, and 照 (usually read teru in names )also means to “to illuminate.” It’s got a hi too! This time it’s the 日 for sun! Oh! And those four dots at the bottom of 照? Kind of looks like a fire at the bottom of a hearth, doesn’t it? That’s because this is also another radical for 火/fire, it’s just been broken into four different strokes!! He’s got fire and sun!! So much hi! But let’s not forget, hi can also just be a general way of referring to divine power, right? That is essentially what lightning was always thought of—a very, very powerful divine power. And certainly one that illuminates things, doesn’t it? There’s no lightning directly pounded into this name, but the associations are easy to make.
Okay, now really just throwing one more in for fun:
青葉: Aoba This is truly just “green leaves.” Or is it? Actually, the history of different color names across different languages and periods of time is very interesting, and it’s lead to 青 having multiple meanings. Blue and green didn’t always use to be separate ideas, so this kanji used to stand for both of them until 緑 (in Japanese, midori) came along. Nowadays in mainland Mandarin Chinese, you tend to use 绿 (lǜ) for green and 蓝 (lán) for blue, with 青 (qīng) reserved more for a blue/green shade or more generally with youth. In Japan, 緑 (midori) is used for both the color green and for the greenery of plants in general, and 青 (ao) is used for various shades of blue… typically. Sometimes it is still used for “green,” which is why traffic lights are “red, yellow, BLUE,” and sometimes, well, leaves are also called blue. Anyway, because the name is likely in homage to his great-grandmother and because he’s got the kanji to go with his, this is part of why I interpret Aoi’s phonetic katakana name (アオイ) as being in reference to the color (which is also used a lot in her character design) as opposed to the aforementioned plant. (More on Aoi, Kanao, Kanae, and Shinobu's names here.)

𝓒𝓱𝓸𝓬𝓸𝓵𝓪𝓽𝓮 𝓵𝓲𝓹𝓼
Contains major KNY / Demon Slayer manga ending spoilers.
Modern Era, Reincarnation. Polyamory Kamado Sumihiko x F!Reader x Rengoku Tojuro
The story is in second person. Unamed Reader. Reader's features are not described.
This Demon Slayer fic is rated Teen. There are sexual implications in some dialogs, but that's it. (I know, it's shocking).
Tumblr media
As always, Yoshiteru laments about his single status. That's just how you know it was another typical day at school. Usually, he can find comfort in the fact that his classmate and friend, Sumihiko, is sailing in the same boat as him. But today... Sumihiko surprises him with important news.
Tumblr media
Author Note: I originally wrote this story as a Modern Era Sequel of my other fic, "Echoes of Loss," but it can be considered a standalone one-shot too.
Rengoku Tojuro is the reincarnation of Kyojuro and the descendant of Senjuro (with an unknown wife).
Kamado Sumihiko is the reincarnation of Tanjiro and, in canon, the descendant of Kanao and Tanjiro. In the context of the "Echoes of Loss", Sumihiko here is supposed to be the descendant of the former Reader and Tanjiro, but as a separate one-shot you can consider he's still Kanao's descendant, it doesn't really matter.
The Reader is the former "Echoes of Loss" Reader's reincarnation, but again it doesn't really matter here. Their family lineage is not specified, so it's up to you.
(Valentine's day is far gone, but I'm a sucker for japanese Valentine's day fluff, hugh.)
The chapter is primarily from Sumihiko's POV
Tumblr media
Two centuries after the Taisho Era, in Tokyo.
As the bell rings to signal the end of the school day at Kimetsu High School, students spill out of the main gate, gradually dispersing into the neighborhood. Among them, sixteen-year-old Yoshiteru Agatsuma once again laments his single status and romantic struggles. It is yet another day dawned on his teenage life without him finding a pretty girl willing to give him a chance. His classmates shoot him exasperated glances, worn out from hearing the same complaints every day on their way back home.
With most his peers ignoring him, Yoshiteru seeks solace aloud.
“At least you get it, Sumihiko. We're in the same boat, you and I."
Kamado Sumihiko, the youngest son of the area's renowned bakers, is known for his pure heart and lack of interest in pursuing romantic relationships. This fact is the primary reason behind his celibacy, since many people are actually interested into him (not that Yoshiteru would ever tell him that). The boy turns his burgundy-haired head toward his desperate friend with a sheepish smile. He rubs the back of his neck, a slightly uncomfortable expression etched on his soft features.
"Oh, no, sorry Yoshiteru. In fact, I've been off the market for a few weeks now."
"Wha-… WHAT?!!! WITH WHOM? HOW DARE YOU BREAK OUR SINGLE MEN PARTNERSHIP?! WE'RE FRIENDS, RIGHT?? WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME ANYTHING?"
The boy winces at Yoshiteru’s deafening cries. While not wanting to escalate the situation, Sumihiko can't help but direct his wine-colored eyes towards the sky with a slightly exasperated sigh. This dramatic reaction is precisely why hadn't disclosed this information earlier.
"I never signed a single men partnership with you, Yoshiteru…" Sensing a deadly glare from his companion, the young man abandons that approach and chooses to apologize instead. "Okay, okay, I’m sorry. I did want to tell you, but our situation was a bit unusual, so we preferred not to talk about it immediately with others… But see, now that we've decided to make it official, you're the first to know!"
"NAH, I know nothing, man!!! There's missing information!! Who's this desperate chick who fell for you?!"
Not bothered by the rude question, Sumihiko states your name and that of Rengoku Tojuro with a radiant smile.
Yoshiteru momentarily freezes, his overheated brain grinding to a halt as he’s trying to process the news.
"Wait… You just mentioned two names, right? Aren’t they the heads of the archery and kendo club respectively? Which one are you dating?"
"Both!"
"BOTH?!!! I know we live in a century of sexual liberation, but don't you think you're pushing the boundaries a bit too far?! Consider those who are still single – what hope do you leave them if you're dating multiple people, , especially popular and unfairly hot onesn huh?! One wasn't enough to satiate your needs, or what?! You- you perverted libertine!"
"W-We haven't done anything like that yet, we're still in high school, Yoshiteru!" Sumihiko corrects on a reproachful tone, his cheeks ablaze.
"Stop playing the prude boy! You've already reached sexual maturity! Our ancestors were already married at that age! Are your hormones not working or what?! More importantly, explain to me how you went from being single to the hero of a harem shonen, huh?!"
With an overwhelmed expression, Sumihiko tries to calm and appease his hysterical friend and plunges back into his memories…
Tumblr media
Sumihiko and Tojuro first met when they were toddlers, though they don’t remember much of that time, of course. Their two families are close, both descending from lineages that supposedly fought demons together two hundred years ago. They became friends in elementary school, when the Kamado family opened a bakery in Setagaya, and Sumihiko transferred into Tojuro’s class.
The first days after their initial meeting, Sumihiko found himself dreaming that he was a valiant warrior, battling monstrous foes alongside a Rengoku who bore a striking resemblance to Tojuro. Admittedly, all members of the Rengoku lineage looked like younger or older versions of each other, but the swordman from his dreams and his classmate really gave off the same feeling; their staring habits and constant smiles were identical, and they were both strongwilled and friendly, though maybe a little odd. Immersed in the tales of their families' legendary exploits since his childhood, Sumihiko didn't think much of these dreams, attributing them to his imagination. But they did add to his curiosity and sympathy toward the fiery boy. Their friendship blossomed effortlessly from the moment they engaged in conversation. Despite their contrasting dispositions — Tojuro always overflowed with energy and determination, while the Kamado's youngest leaned towards a more relaxed and laid-back demeanor — they proved early on to be perfectly compatible and complementary, like two sides of the same coin. Their camaraderie only strenghtened over time, and Sumihiko never dreamt of the Taisho era ever again.
In comparison, the young Rengoku and yourself had first crossed paths fairly recently, at Kimetsu’s high school interclub meeting. Despite this, a strong bond quickly formed between you two. Within a few weeks of your initial encounter, Tojuro introduced you to his childhood friend.
Witnessing your first smile directed at him, Sumihiko knew he was a goner. It was love at first sight, he realized instantly.
There was an undeniable familiarity about you, akin to the connection he had experienced when meeting some of his closest friends for the first time, especially Tojuro. It felt as if you had always known each other. Maybe Yoshiteru and his grandmother were onto something, after all; perhaps it meant you had met in a previous life. If that were the case, Sumihiko couldn't help but wonder about the depth of his past self's affection for you and whether he had succeeded in winning your heart.
In a cursed twist of fate, he soon realized he wasn't the only one irresistibly drawn to you. It became evident that his best friend also harbored a crush on you. Tojuro had never looked at another girl the way he looked at you, not to mention how he constantly sought your attention and praise. Gods, Tojuro just loved praise, and and you seemed to have an endless supply of it for him. Granted, you were an amazing person, and anyone would be pleased to earn your admiration. Since Sumihiko didn't want to come between you two, he tried to keep his growing feelings to himself, hoping he could find contentment in your happiness if you ever started dating. But after a year of close-knit friendship between the three of you, he began to feel anxious. Instead of fading over time, his feelings for you only intensified.
As Valentine's Day approached, Sumihiko found himself increasingly restless. He wasn’t certain he could keep it together if he witnessed you giving honmei chocos (conveying romantic feelings) to Tojuro, so he opted to spend minimal time with both of you. Somehow, you managed to corral the two teenagers at the end of class, surprising them with handmade, heart-shaped chocolates.
The boys were flattered, but intrigued by your gesture. These gifts stood out from the typical giri-choco they had seen you give to classmates, and strongly resembled honmei choco. Yet, usually one wouldn't give multiple honmei choco. Perhaps these were fancy giri-choco, because you were close friends? Still, that heart shape was undeniably misleading…
Despite his rattled thoughts, Sumihiko was too shy to voice his questions. On the other hand, Tojuro couldn't contain his curiosity:
"They look delicious, thank you very much!!!" Gosh, he was loud. Not in the same way as Yoshiteru, but still. "But tell us, are these honmei or giri chocos?"
Sumihiko winced at Tojuro's directness, prepared to deflect the question to put you at ease. However, you responded naturally with a charming smile:
"Isn't it obvious? They're honmei."
Even the typically bold and boisterous Tojuro was momentarily at a loss for words, his brain freezing at the significance of such a gesture. However, he quickly recovered, seeking to clarify the situation:
"Should we conclude that you love both of us?"
"Tojuro!" Sumihiko couldn't help but feel a flush of embarrassment as he nudged his friend, reprimanding him for his unrestrained spontaneity.
"Well, yes… Is it bad?" your voice trailed off as you became increasingly uncertain. "I thought long and hard about who I wanted to make honmei chocos for… but since I couldn’t decide, I opted to make some for each of you instead. I'm not expecting anything in return; I simply wanted to express my feelings… But, of course, if it's too awkward, you don't have to accept the chocolates at all… I'm sorry," you said quietly.
Quickly, the two boys reassured you, affirming that your gesture was appreciated, and they graciously accepted your sweets. However, they remained somewhat evasive in response to your confession.
Once you had departed, they found themselves strolling in silence until they reached their customary spot at the nearby park, where they settled onto the swings. This was their ritual whenever they needed to discuss something important, like Sumihiko grandmother's death. There, they broached the topic of the unexpected situation.
"I admit I was surprised, but I'm flattered that she likes us that way!" Tojuro pointed out carelessly, popping one of the chocolates into his mouth. "DELICIOUS!"
"Congratulations, Tojuro," Sumihiko forced himself to say with a sad smile. "You can finally date her…"
"Hmm? Me? But don't you also have feelings for her?" His childhood friend's owlish red and gold eyes bore into him, filled with genuine puzzlement.
Sumihiko's face flushed with embarrassment.Even Tojuro, who usually paid little attention to such matters, had noticed his affection for you? Unable to deceive his friend, the redhead shook his head, "I don't want to come between the two of you. Our friendship means more to me than any high school crush." Though it had transcended mere infatuation at this point, he preferred not to dwell on that. "Besides, you've known her longer than I have."
While Tojuro had always admired Sumihiko's selflessness, he couldn't help but feel unsettled knowing that his friend was willing to sacrifice his own feelings for him. Crossing his arms, he pondered for a moment. "Hmm… we're best buddies, she likes both of us, and we feel the same way. What if we went out together? That could solve the issue!"
"Huh? Are you suggesting that we both date her?" the baker boy asked, his confusion evident.
"Why not? The athlete Uzui has multiple girlfriends. But it would be a shame to date her separately, wouldn't it? I was suggesting that we also go out together, you and me!"
Sumihiko's face turned even redder at the proposal. He could swear steam was blowing out of his ears.
"Huh?! You and me, Tojuro? But… we've been friends for such a long time… I never sensed you had feelings for me, so why…?"
"Hm! I don't feel exactly the same way for you as I do for our dear kyudoka, but it's definitely stronger than anything what I've felt for other people, including my other childhood friends. I think it could very well blossom into love if we gave it a shot!"
"B-but being together involves holding hands… kissing… that kind of stuff," stammered the flushed Sumihiko, not eager to continue his list. "C-could you do that with me?"
In response, after swallowing another chocolate, Tojuro stood up from his swing seat and stepped closer, framing Sumihiko's face with his hands. The redhead froze, his heart pounding wildly. Before he could fully grasp the situation, his friend planted a sweet and innocent kiss on his lips. The gesture left the young Kamado's face burning, and the kendoka straightened up triumphantly, locking eyes with his comrade. Sumihiko nervously moistened his lips, brushing them with his fingertips in disbelief. Tojuro had left a taste of chocolate on them. Your chocolate…
"See! It was pretty natural, right?" exclaimed the fiery boy loudly. "Did you enjoy it too?"
And Sumihiko couldn't deny it…
Encountering you again the next day, they broached the idea of embarking on a relationship together as a trio. Tojuro elaborated on how they arrived at this decision, openly sharing the story of his first kiss with Sumihiko, much to his friend's dismay. He dreaded your potential reaction: what if the idea of two boys exploring such a thing disgust you?
You eemed taken aback by this development, but to their relief, you displayed clear enthusiasm afterward, tinged with a hint of envy:
"Of course, I'd love to go out with both of you! I can't believe you took the initiative without me, even though I was the one confessing…"
They promptly rectified this oversight by each giving you a kiss, first Tojuro, followed by Sumihiko. Their inexperienced smooches were slightly awkward and hasty, resulting in a few accidental tooth clicks due to nervousness. The overall clumsiness of the moment and the unusual situation prompted a burst of laughter from the three of you. As the mirth subsided, you exchanged happy smiles and made a commitment to do your best to navigate this new dynamic together.
Tumblr media
"Since then, the three of us have been going out on dates. We gave ourselves a few weeks to test the waters of our new relationship before announcing it to anyone, just to avoid putting pressure on ourselves. While I still spend a lot of time with Tojuro, it's not quite the same as before—we've grown closer. And, of course, I also spend quality time alone with our girlfriend."
"Wow," replies Yoshiteru, still somewhat incredulous but calmer than before. "My brain is struggling to imagine what it will look like when you will take things to the next level."
"Hey! Stop talking about that… It's too early, and it's none of your business!" The young Kamado's face is a deep shade of crimson.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN, NONE OF MY BUSINESS?! I STILL PLAN TO LOSE MY VIRGINITY BEFORE YOU, THAT WOULD BE THE LEAST AFTER WHAT YOU JUST DID TO OUR FRIENDSHIP! Ah… Here come your lovers!" he gasps.
Indeed, you and Tojuro await Sumihiko in front of the local dojo in the street corner, waving cheerfully from a distance as you approach. Sumihiko offers an apology to his classmate and quickly joins your company. Watching the interaction among the three of you, Yoshiteru can't help but reflect on how he overlooked the obvious signs, he who is usually so perceptive about others' relationships.
Indeed, despite your conscious effort to keep public displays of affection understated, the subtle, intimate gestures you share reveal a different story. Unnecessary touches, discreet hand-holding, whispered secrets, and silly giggles paint a picture of closeness and affection. Yoshiteru is disgusted by the blissful cheesiness your trio radiates, even though a tiny part of himself is genuinely happy for his friend.
Nevertheless, he hopes that his time in the spotlight will arrive soon, and that he will manage to score with a lovely young lady before Sumihiko does with any of you (or both). However, considering the intense and heated gazes exchanged between you and Tojuro over your most innocent partner, it appears unlikely that the desperately single Yoshiteru will see his wish fulfilled on time.

Glad I rewrote this one too, lol.
My mind is brimming with scenarios (some rated T, some waaaay spicier, I have to admit XD) that could follow this one-shot, but I don't think there's much of an audience for a modern-era Polyamory GN or F/M/M Tanjiro/Kyojuro/Reader. So, I'll probably just keep those for myself XD
Let me know if I'm wrong!

Hi! I don't know if the requests will be open but can I request something with the descendants of Kanao, Tanjiro and Nezuko if you can? How about a Lee Kanata and Ler Sumihiko, Toko?
(I know that not much is known about them but it seems to me that it would be a nice scenario)
Sure! (I had to search for some images on Google so that others know who we are talking about)
Tumblr media
Lers: Sumihiko Kamado and Touko Agatsuma
Lee: Kanata Kamado
Only for reference:
* Kanata and Sumihiko are descendants of Tanjiro and Kanao
* Touko and Yoshiteru are descendants of Nezuko and Zenitsu
'I can't believe you two were convinced to do this...', Touko exclaimed, rolling her eyes in annoyance.
She had already gotten tired of Yoshiteru talking about the story that he reread about 5 times a day, and as if that were not enough, her friends had agreed to dress similar to those in the story. 'Come on, it's not that bad! Look how the haori looks on me! This is fun! Be glad, it's not that bad!'
'What do you mean "it's not that bad"? DON'T YOU SEE THAT THE ONLY THING WE DO IS-!?'
'Touko, it could be worse...', Touko stopped, looking with Sumihiko at the room where Kanata came from.
She couldn't help it but snorted, she didn't think he would be willing to wear a skirt just like Kanao, his ancestor.
'Isn't it funny... This skirt is strange, how can you guys wear things like this...?' 'Well Kanata, you look gorgeous! Let's see, model for us! Cheer up!'
Kanata was not happy, he did not plan to do that, especially if he was wearing a short skirt
'Oh Kanata hahaha... The reason it looks like this is because you didn't know how to put your belt on correctly! Come, let me help you!'
'I'm sure I did it right... But go ahead I guess...', Kanata sighed, maybe Touko was right, he wasn't used to those clothes like she was.
Touko started to help him, trying not to laugh at the way he had put on his skirt, he definitely needed help.
Sumihiko also helped, because every time Touko pulled on the skirt to fix it, Kanata would shudder and close his legs.
'Oh please! I know you're ticklish, but don't exaggerate, I'm not even touching you!', Touko exclaimed angrily, growling when Kanata raised one of his legs and seemed to have destroyed the skirt. 'Maybe it wasn't his size... Don't you think?'
'Of course it is! It's just that if he wasn't so ticklish he wouldn't be suffering so much!'
Kanata covered Touko's mouth, it was already the second time she was saying that word and he felt that if he said it again, his blush would probably give him away.
'Very well that's enough, now I share Touko's idea... This is ridiculous... I don't want to play this anymore'
'Come on Kanata! We're already dressed up, you can't abandon us like this! Touko, take care of the skirt... I'll make it stay still!'
Kanata took two steps back trying to get away, but his back met the cold wall, there was no way to escape. 'Okay, but hold him very well... He is TOO much... Mmmmm what was the word? Oooooh yes! Ticklish~'
It was enough for Kanata, he fell to the floor with his face completely red. 'Do you see it Sumihiko?! I told you he can't stand hearing that word! Pay me!'
'Ooooh of course not! He may be embarrassed to hear the word... But if he doesn't laugh, then I won't pay!'
And yep, although Touko claimed to "hate" Yoshiteru's idea, the truth is that she took advantage of this to make a bet with Sumihiko.
It was a very well thought out plan, wasn't it? Well, at least it was for Touko. 'Wait... Was it your idea...?! TOUKOOOOOO!!'
'Yes, it was... So if you don't mind, I'd like to win the bet money. So... Come here Kana~!'
Kanata tried to run out the door and would have made it if it hadn't been for Yoshiteru closing the door, apologizing beforehand with "it's you or me!". 'DAMN YOSHITERU!!'
'Hey, no one can insult my idiot brother! Only me!', eeeeem... Well, each sister knows and decides how to treat her brother.
Touko suggested Sumihiko tickle Kanata's legs so they would get the best reactions. 'I just hope he doesn't kick us...'
'I WILL IF YOU DON'T STOHOHOHOP!! AHAHAHAHAHA!!' 'Did I tell you or not?! He can't stand someone tickling his legs, anywhere else he can stand it, but not his legs, right love~?'
Kanata denied, he was not willing to accept the truth, but in the condition he was in it did not help him much.
Sumihiko had to accept that he had never dared to tickle Kanata, but now that he knew this, he would tickle him every time Kanata wouldn't let him sleep. 'Are you going to accept it once and for all? Come on, I'll give you part of the money if you help me~'
'NEHEVEHEHER!!' 'Ooooh well, I guess I have no choice... Sumihiko presses his hips! Let's do it at the same time on a count of 3, okay?'
Now Kanata understood why Yoshiteru was usually scared of his own sister, she could be terrifying when she proposed to it
What Touko said was done, Kanata couldn't even keep still, no one, not even his own parents had dared to tickle him like that. 'Do you give up or-?'
'YEHEHEHES!! I SUHURREHEHENDEHER!! I'M TIHICKLIHISH!!'
'Woah! That was fast! Well, I guess you won Touko...', Sumihiko stopped and stopped Touko.
Kanata's cheeks hurt a little, he had never felt so ticklish with a few simple squeezes and for his first time, it felt like torture.
'Are you okay Kanata?'
'Yes... But you will have to make merit to be forgiven for this humiliation by Touko Agatsuma...'
Touko knelt down and gave him a kiss, taking it as a game, but Kanata was serious. He would make the three of them regret that, he mentally swore.

Yoshiteru and Sumihiko have my heart. (I headcanon that the Kamado’s and Agatsuma’s are close family friends…thus the frequent sleepovers with these two kiddos.)

What if Kaigaku-as punishment-has to be the demon guardian of his "nephew" Yoshiteru Agatsuma from birth? And only Yoshiteru can see and hear him?
(very interesting concept!)
-Right off the bat, Yoshiteru knew who Kaigaku was. He read about him in his grandpa Zenitsu's journals.
-Kaigaku tried to play it cool, saying he was an estranged uncle, and when that didn't work, he tried gaslighting him, also to no avail.
-Yoshiteru is an airhead but he's not that dumb, he asked why Kaigaku was there, only to find out that Kaigaku is being punished by his long dead adoptive great great grandfather, the former lightning hashira.
-Kaigaku didn't do much besides give shitty advice to Yoshiteru about things like life, an example would be: "You should steal that snake guy's pretty wife." "Why would I do that?!"
-Kaigaku also took joy out of making Yoshiteru seem insane, given his parents and sister could never see him.
-Though Kaigaku was an ass, he kept his promise and protected Yoshiteru from any harm, ranging from common bullies to criminals on the streets.
