jacob elordi and yn take a lie detector test | vanity fair
Tumblr media
MASTERLIST | MY PATREON | jacob insta blurb
"YN," the interviewer said, you and Jacob were sitting side by side with expectation shown in your faces, "Jacob."
"Hello," you said in unison, which made you look at each other and laugh.
"We're going to be taking a lie detector test today," the interviewer explained, "One of you will he hooked up to the machine while the other asks questions, and then you'll switch."
"Why are my palms sweating?" you said, making Jacob laugh and kiss the side of your head quickly.
"Who would you like to go first?" the interviewer asked again.
Jacob and you looked at each other for a few seconds before he winked at you and told the interviewer he would go first.
The video showed someone from the crew getting the machine ready and getting Jacob hooked to it.
"Do I look afraid?" Jacob asked, making you relax and laugh.
"You look fine, babe," you looked at the guy who was in charge of the machine, who give you the cue that you could start asking questions, "Okay, is your real name Jacob Elordi?"
"Yes," he answered.
"Were you born in Melborune, Australia?"
"No, I was born in Brisbane."
"Are you ready to take this lie detector test?" you asked, a smile playing on your face.
"I think so," he looked at you with a nervous smile and then looked at the camera.
"Okay, let's get started."
JACOB ELORDI TELLS THE TRUTH
"So, you were born in Australia. Do you like LA better?" you asked, reading the folder in front of you.
"Right now, yeah," Jacob answered, a small screen on the top left showing the lie detector machine working.
"Would you say you've adopted the LA lifestyle since moving here?"
"Yes,"
"Do you like going to yoga classes with me?" you raised your eyebrow, noticing a smile appearing on Jacob's face
"Absolutely." he answered confidently and you directed your raised eyebrow to the man behind the machine.
"He's telling the truth," the man said
"Were you doubting me?" Jacob said, an offended tone in his voice.
"Just confirming," you looked at the folder once again,"Do you consider yourself a heartthrob?"
"Yeah," he answered, but the look on his face said otherwise.
"A lie," the man said.
"I don't consider myself a heartthrob," he began, "but I mean I guess I kinda have to accept it."
"Yep, there you go," you said and a cheeky smile played on your face as you read the following question, "Have you ever felt jealous of any of my co stars?"
The room got quiet after the question, Jacob threw his head back and closed his eyes for a moment, and you couldn't help but laugh.
"Just answer the question!" you said and he shook his head.
"I wouldn't say that I'm a jealous person, specially not of your co stars because I'm an actor myself and I know how it works," he began, "I'm just protective, okay?"
"No reading, that was too close," the man behind the machine spoke, "It was a gray area, we could ask it again or we could just move on."
"Let's move on, he doesn't want to admit that he was jealous of Andrew Garfield on camera," you joked and Jacob couldn't help but laugh along, "Did you feel nervous during our first date?"
"Yes," his eyes widened at the memory, "I was about to piss my pants, actually."
"Truth,"
"Oh I already knew that," you shrugged with a cocky smile, "If I asked you to move to New York with me, would you do it?"
"Yeah, definitely," he smiled, "New York is the shit."
"Alright, babe, let's keep this interesting," you said with a grin. The lie detector machine still monitoring his responses, "Have you ever borrowed my clothes without asking?"
"Of course, guilty as charged," Jacob chuckled, "Your oversized sweaters are just too comfy to resist, love, and don't get me started on your purses,"
"This shouldn't have been a question, everyone knows the purses you use to go out are mine," you rolled your eyes with affection,"Okay last one from me,"
"Bring it,"
"Do you believe in love at first sight?"
You looked at Jacob curiously, and he took a moment before replying.
"Yeah, I do," he answered smoothly, "I mean when I met you, there was this instant connection, and I just knew there was something special about you."
"He's telling the truth," the lie detector confirmed, and you couldn't help but smile.
"Smooth answer, Elordi. Looks like we're on the same page about love at first sight," he smiled back at you, "Lord that was so cheesy, It's my turn! But, did at any point of this interview did you lie and we didn't catch you?"
"I mean, I don't know if you caught me," Jacob rested his chin on his hand.
"Did he lie?" you asked the man, both you and Jacob turning to look at him.
"He's not lying," He confirmed and Jacob gave you a smug smile
"I guess you passed the test."
YN TELLS THE TRUTH
You took your place in the hot seat while Jacob prepared to play the role of the interrogator, nerves kicking in as the crew hooked you up to the machine.
"Okay, YN," Jacob said, a smirk showing on his face, "Let's get started, shall we?"
You nodded and he sent you a wink.
"Is your favorite movie still 'The Notebook'?"
"Absolutely," you answered immediately and the machine confirmed your answer.
"Classic," he muttered, "Have you ever faked a compliment about my cooking?"
"Maybe once or twice, but it's only because I didn't want to hurt your feelings," you bit your lip, and Jacob gave you a surprised expression
"So, I've been living a lie?" he raised his eyebrow at you.
"No, no," you reassured him, "Your cooking skills have definitely improved over time."
"Truth," the man in charge of the lie detector said, and Jacob nodded in approval.
"Fair enough. Now, have you ever pretended to like a movie just because I wanted to watch it?"
"Guilty again," you covered your face in embarrassment,"But in my defense, no one wants to watch the Star Wars movies after a long day of filming."
"My feelings are definitely hurt," Jacob said and dramatically put a hand on his chest, "This test is making you look like a bad girlfriend, actually,"
"Come on now, give me more questions,"
"Alright, let's dig a little deeper," Jacob said with a smirk, "Have you ever considered stealing my phone to read my text messages?"
"Maybe once or twice," you said, "But only out of curiosity, not suspicion."
"Well, you know I'm wrapped around your finger so I would let you go through it anytime," he shrugged, "Do you think my Australian accent is sexier than your American one?"
"Oh, come on! That's not a fair question," you couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"Just answer the question, love," Jacob teased.
"Fine, fine," you said, still laughing, "Yes, your Australian accent is undeniably sexy."
"Truth," the machine confirmed, and Jacob playfully raised an eyebrow looking satisfied.
"Do you regret any of the roles you've played?" he asked, and you took a deep breath before answering.
"No, all of the roles I've played have been very meaningful to me," you replied, and the man operating the machine machine looked at you with a raised eyebrow."
"She's lying," he simply said, and you shut your eyes hearing Jacob laugh.
"I guess you have some explaining to do," he chuckled, shooting a playful glare at you, "Come on, spill it."
"Okay, fine," you admitted, "There was this one project early in my career that I took for the paycheck, and looking back, I wish I had chosen something more aligned with my values. It's not a regret per se, but more of a lesson learned."
"Fair enough," Jacob nodded, moving to the next question, "Have you ever stalked fan accounts dedicated to me?"
"Maybe a casual scroll here and there," you admitted, trying to seem cool about it.
"Casual scroll, huh?" Jacob raised an eyebrow and peeked at the lie detector, "The machine doesn't seem convinced, right?" he asked the man.
"It's a lie," he confirmed ad Jacob burst into laughter.
"Caught red-handed, love. What's next? Have you ever used my toothbrush without telling me?" he teased, making you laugh
"No way! That's just gross," you protested
"You hesitated there. Are you sure?" Jacob raised an eyebrow again
The machine signaled the truth, and you sighed in relief.
"I was just grossed out by the thought. I promise I've never done that."
"It's not like we haven't kissed before," he teased and you rolled your eyes but smiled, "Okay last question.
"Hit me with it," you said, ready for whatever it would be.
"Have you ever thought about what our future holds? Like, where we'll be in 10 years?" he asked, his expression turning serious.
You took a moment to contemplate the question.
"Yes," you answered sincerely, "I think about it quite often. I imagine us still together, maybe with a family, still acting and pursuing our passions and of course supporting each other."
"Truth," the lie detector machine confirmed your words, and Jacob's serious expression softened into a warm smile.
"Well, looks like we're on the same page there once again," he said, "Did you lie at any time and we didn't catch you?"
"Nope, I was an open book, babe," you replied, sending a wink his way.
"Did she lie?" Jacob turned to the man behind the machine,
The man hesitated for a moment, building suspense, before finally saying, "She's telling the truth."
"Told you!"
The video ended with both of you laughing at each other, and it became one of Vanity Fair's most watched Lie Detector tests.

Norway Headcanons
Bc I’m inspired ✨
Norway is a very active and outdoorsy person, he loves skiings (which, he’s mastered), hiking, sailing/rowing and figure skating.
Norway is a firm believer that there is no bad weather, only bad clothes. It could be a literal blizzard outside and he’ll still shrug his shoulders and go out to try and ski anyway. He hates being inside on a weekend, and if he doesn’t get out he’ll feel guilty about it or even claustrophobic.
Norway has always felt an incredibly deep connection with the sea, and just water in general, to be honest. There’s something so peaceful and therapeutic about it. He often finds himself longing to be in, on or surrounding by water.
Nor is an adventurer and an explorer at heart!! He loves travelling and seeing the natural beauty of so many different parts of the of the world ✨ he doesn’t really tell people when he’s going on these holidays. If you haven’t heard from nor in a while, it’s entirely likely that he could be at the top of Ben Nevis, or hiking through the Amazon rainforest, or swimming in a random beach in Australia.
that being said, he is a completely different during the winter months. Seasonal depression hits him like a brick, and he’ll spend most days cuddled under blankets, knitting and watching some nature documentary. He tries to get outside for the 2-3 hours of sunlight he gets in the middle of the day, just for the sake of getting outside and not feeling trapped.
Norway never gets enough sleep. Managing to be both a night owl and an early bird. He always goes to sleep far too late and he always wakes up far too early. Coffee is his clutch during the day, and he often finds himself napping on the sofa more than he’d like.
speaking of getting up early, he always likes to get a little read in of his book before he starts his day. The reason he gets up so early is so that he has time to read.
Norway is a huge booknerd, he loves reading. And he’s found reading to be really helpful when he experiences homesickness on his travels. He always likes to bring a book that’s set in Norway, so he can map out the different locations in his mind and truly feel momentarily transported home.
every single time he’s in the UK, he always buys far too many books than he should, but he gets so caught up in how much cheaper they are over here than in Norway. Scotland officially has his own little book shelf for all the books Norway’s bought that he couldn’t fit in his suitcase on the way back home.
he has massive bookshelves back home, and every few months he likes to dedicate a day solely to reorganising them completely. It takes him hours, but he loves it, he finds it weirdly very relaxing.
in terms of things that Norway finds relaxing, he actually does yoga. It’s a great way to clear his head and feel calm. It also helps out with his flexibility. Norway is far more flexible than any man should be.
on paper, Norway lives a very healthy lifestyle. He doesn’t drink that much fizzy pop, he eats a lot of fruit and vegetables, he gets a lot of protein from the sheer amount of fish he eats, and sweet treats and snacks are reserved for weekends.
Norway is very jealousy prone, especially in regard to Denmark & Sweden. Often feeling forgotten about or even under-valued in comparison to them. He hates having too much attention on himself, but if Sweden or Denmark is mentioned he will feel an intense need to prove himself as equal or even better than them.
this also results in him being extremely competitive against Denmark & Sweden.
Norway is actually really good at woodwork, but his skills are always overshadowed by Sweden, who is admittedly far better than him.
however, Norway is the best nordic at knitting! He loves it, and he takes great pride in the things he knits. He actually loves to knit jumpers with Norwegian patterns on for his friends to wear in the winter time. And he basically lives in his many different marius gensers he’s knit for himself.
Norway is a formidable gift giver, he always somehow finds the best present to gift someone for their birthday or for Christmas. He actually prefers to give them hand made gifts too. He will rarely get someone something that’s store bought.
he loves cats and he has two Norwegian forest cats of his own, they’re called Oskar and Mons. His babies 🥰
Norway is extremely non-committal. At least, in terms of relationships. He values his freedoms and his independence far too highly, and he’s absolutely prettified of actually falling in love. He finds it far easier to just have meaningless hook ups that neither part acknowledges in the morning. And if he does date someone, he often runs away before things get serious.
Norway is actually scared of fire, at least really big ones. Small ones are fine. But his cities have burnt down so many times throughout history, and I actually think Norway was a victim of the witch trials too. So a huge bonfire is absolutely a no-go for Norway.
norway has a flat in oslo, entirely for work purposes, a house in Trondheim, which is farrr more homely and he much prefers, as well as a cabin up in Lofoten. The highest honour you could achieve as Norway’s friend is to be invited to his cabin. It’s his private little space to escape to during the summer. No electronics or wifi, just nature.
Norway has dimples, but because he rarely smiles not many people know of them.
of course, we know Norway feels deeply connected to the magic and the folk lore of his home. But he also loves learning about the folklore from other countries in the world too. He always tried to find a book of folktales in every single country he visits.
Norway is a formidable story teller, which is quite good, because he loves passing on his mythology to everyone who cares to listen.
Norway actually has a little nisse friend who lives in his house in Trondheim. He’s an absolute menace sometimes, but nor still loves him. But he’s also developed a habit of blaming this little nisse every single time something goes missing, even if he’s not in Trondheim.
he loves music. He is a formidable singer, and he plays the violin, the electric violin, and the hardanger fiddle.
Norway is great at navigating the sea and mountains, but absolutely dreadful at navigating cities. If he’s going to an unfamiliar city, he will need someone to show him around or he will get horribly lost.

Yoga Statistics Worldwide: A Global Insight into the Growth of Yoga
Tumblr media
Yoga, a practice that dates back thousands of years, has become a global phenomenon with millions of people embracing its physical, mental, and spiritual benefits. The rise of yoga is not limited to any one region; its impact has been felt worldwide, with participants from all walks of life. Let's delve into the yoga statistics worldwide to understand how this ancient practice has taken root across different countries and cultures.
Global Participation in Yoga
One of the most impressive yoga statistics worldwide is the sheer number of practitioners. It is estimated that over 300 million people practice yoga globally, with participation growing steadily each year. The United States alone has more than 36 million yoga practitioners, but countries like India, the birthplace of yoga, continue to lead the way, with yoga deeply ingrained in the culture and lifestyle of millions.
In Europe, yoga has witnessed a significant rise in popularity, particularly in countries like the UK, Germany, and France, where wellness trends and holistic health practices are highly valued. Similarly, in Australia and parts of Asia, yoga participation is increasing as awareness of its health benefits spreads.
Demographic Breakdown of Global Yoga Practitioners
Yoga appeals to a wide demographic, with participation spanning various age groups, genders, and backgrounds. Here’s a breakdown of key yoga statistics worldwide by demographic:
Gender: Globally, women represent the majority of yoga practitioners, making up approximately 70-80% of participants. However, the number of men practicing yoga is on the rise, especially as yoga is increasingly recognized as a tool for strength, flexibility, and mental resilience.
Age Groups: Yoga is popular among all age groups, but it’s most prevalent among individuals aged 25-45. Interestingly, yoga is gaining traction among older adults due to its ability to improve mobility, balance, and overall health, with specific classes tailored to seniors.
Geographical Regions: The highest numbers of yoga practitioners are found in North America, Europe, and India. However, other regions such as South America and Southeast Asia are experiencing growing interest, driven by the global wellness movement and the increasing number of yoga studios and teachers.
Economic Impact of Yoga Globally
Another fascinating aspect of yoga statistics worldwide is the economic impact of this wellness trend. The global yoga industry, which includes yoga classes, equipment, apparel, and related products, is estimated to be worth over $80 billion. Yoga studios, retreats, teacher training programs, and online platforms have seen consistent growth, particularly in developed countries where wellness and fitness industries are booming.
The United States alone contributes significantly to this figure, with yoga spending reaching $16 billion annually on classes, clothing, and accessories. Yoga retreats in destinations like Bali, Thailand, and Costa Rica have also become increasingly popular, contributing to the global wellness tourism sector.
The Mental and Physical Benefits of Yoga
The global rise in yoga participation can be attributed to the extensive physical and mental health benefits it provides. Research indicates that over 75% of practitioners start yoga for its physical benefits, such as improved flexibility, strength, and posture. However, the mental health benefits quickly become a primary reason for continued practice, with yoga statistics worldwide revealing that over 50% of participants engage in yoga to manage stress, anxiety, and mental clarity.
In countries like the US and UK, yoga has become an essential tool in workplace wellness programs, with many companies offering classes to improve employee well-being. Similarly, hospitals and healthcare providers in various parts of the world are integrating yoga into rehabilitation programs, particularly for mental health disorders, chronic pain, and recovery from surgery or injury.
The Influence of Digital Yoga
Digital fitness trends have played a crucial role in making yoga accessible to a broader audience worldwide. The demand for online yoga classes surged during the COVID-19 pandemic, with many people turning to virtual platforms like YouTube, Zoom, and specialized apps to maintain their practice from home.
According to recent yoga statistics worldwide, online yoga classes increased by 50% in 2020, with the trend continuing into 2024. This shift toward digital platforms has allowed people from remote areas, or those with busy schedules, to participate in yoga classes that they may not have had access to otherwise.
Yoga as a Tool for Global Health
Yoga’s ability to address a wide range of health issues has made it a critical component of wellness programs worldwide. Many healthcare providers recommend yoga for managing conditions such as high blood pressure, back pain, arthritis, and anxiety. In fact, according to global research, 60% of yoga practitioners report health improvements, including better sleep, increased energy levels, and improved cardiovascular function.
Additionally, yoga is now being integrated into school curriculums in several countries to promote mindfulness, physical health, and emotional regulation among children. In the US, for instance, more than 4,000 schools offer yoga as part of their wellness programs, while countries like India are pushing for nationwide initiatives that include yoga in education.
The Future of Yoga Worldwide
Looking at yoga statistics worldwide, the future of yoga looks incredibly promising. Industry experts predict that the number of yoga practitioners will continue to rise, with a growing emphasis on digital and hybrid class formats. With the ongoing global interest in mindfulness, wellness, and holistic health, yoga is likely to remain a cornerstone of fitness routines around the world.
Moreover, as science continues to back up the health benefits of yoga, more people are expected to integrate it into their daily lives. Whether through in-person studio sessions or online platforms, the accessibility of yoga ensures that its global presence will only expand.

Another Doublepost
last monday i was told, surprise, you are giving a presentation on your work to a small group of experts! and i shat my pants a little and hyperfocused on that for two days so no tuesday last week. presentation went really well, i survived!
listening: saw ELO concert last week, that was good ... ngl the lead singer guy was not looking too hot but it was a good concert nonetheless.
the fine art of takin' it slow (milly raccoon): i forget how i got recommended this? maybe some list of queer/alt country? only listened to a little bit of this album so far but i liked this song a lot.
found freshman biology on instagram but i think i have to be in a very specific mood to listen to them. very goblin-core type of thing, really interesting instrumentals, but i tried some of it and i definitely have to be in a very chill headspace to not get uptight listening to them.
chips & dip (extra chunky) (sam greenfield): finally listened to the whole album 'sam greenfield sucks', it whips ass, highly recommend; this version of the song on the album is only like 90 seconds which is criminal and i guess this is not an unpopular opinion because a month ago he did an extended version. delicious.
love and death (ebo taylor): also forget how i got this one. some really jammy jazz.
the next few from daylist:
mountains (message to bears), the sense of me (mud flow): smooth guitar. would be good for yoga background music probably.
but wait, there's more (ben folds): anxiety song
last night i did a terrible thing (fever dolls): kind of song that makes one sway side to side. harmonica doin a lot in this one.
runner up (al olender): sleepy lil song.
clean slate (mountain goats): went on a brief mountain goats kick when i thought i would go to their concert in [redacted]; did not do so but still have been enjoying their songs coming back up in my rotation.
really sad because .. i forget if it was last weekend or the upcoming weekend .... but basically there's a lot of good local events in my town that i am not there for :( including performances by some really dope bands.
amchoor (balkan paradise orchestra): as a horn player i am in physical pain to miss this performance :(
allenby (yemen blues): really good overlaying of instruments with the brrrrr sound in the guitar.
and chopin :) classic.
reading: Chappell Roan Confronts The Sickness Of Modern Fandom (kelsey mckinney): did hear about this in a dangelo wallace video. man this fucking sucks for her but good for her for setting hard boundaries and not letting angry weirdos dictate what she should be okay with.
Don't Prep Plots (justin alexander): good tabletop gm philosophy, one that i think i have unconsciously been doing for a while simply because like it says in there, it's so much more work to prep Plots capital P as if it were a novel, and i have always been a work smarter not harder kinda gal. definitely one of my biggest strengths as a gm is my ability to make situations and let the players fill it in, i think. one of the reasons i am still running that dnd group despite it all is because of the validation of being told how good a gm i am, lol.
the two fics in Shang Qinghua Becomes An Isekai Protagonist Love Interest by daddykeehl; cute and fun.
i was looking into Bra Alternatives and ended up on reddit where some articles on shortstays and regency clothing were linked: Underwear: what was worn under Regency gowns? and Historical costume pics: gowns, petticoats, dolls, even men. honestly pretty interesting! i have never really touched regency era in any capacity or media - art, fiction, fashion history, any of it - so this was definitely a cool first peek.
Is it possible to keep your voice and soul while writing for an international market? (Sascha Stronach) and The Uncanny Valley of Culture by damon: two articles from nz and australia respectively about how man, all english-speaking media really does focus on and cater to the american audience, and that fucking sucks.
also the wikipedia page for the ham sandwich theorem. just because.
watching: this video linked in this post. interesting!!!! i love optics i love physics.
some weird history food videos - pizza hut and papa johns, specifically.
playing: fallow but bonus screenshot from playing stray a few weeks ago (already that long. god)
Tumblr media
making: incredibly funny and weird but my friend discovered a scifi/fantasy writing contest that is. like. funded? inspired by?? l ron hubbard. my friend did Not know who that guy was so i got to explain that which was fun. but there's a Free Online Workshop that my friend was like hey. we should do this together. and i was like sure why not. so now i am doing the free l ron hubbard writing workshop tm. so that's back in the writing zone for the first time in. a while.
sorry did not crop my images before uploading them to postimages and i simply cannot be assed to reupload.
can finally share these !! embroidered some patches for my friend's bachelorette party :) she does read these sometimes so i didn't want to accidentally spoil it. the bachelorette was summer camp themed and it was very cute. we made tie dye shirts and smores and played board games and all around had a lovely time.
Tumblr media

started painting some new fat horses and cave painting hands but i am unsatisfied. dunno yet. don't love the mug shape either and given how long it's gonna take to paint all those fucking hands on there ... i wonder if i could make a stamp. that would be really helpful actually. hmm.

some glaze kiln came out! bf made the world's goofiest chopstick rest based on sacabambaspis, i glazed it for him, and it's so silly. a very boring flowerpot came out. disappointing because i was going for this glaze layer. didn't do a thick enough coat of the vert lustre? the vert luster itself is too watered down? not enough texture on the piece despite the ridges? all of the above? idfk. i even made an insane chart of all the amaco glazes in the studio and how they might layer. sigh.

my magic the gathering gaming group made our friend some coasters at one of those paint pre-made pottery places and they came out cute!

eating: last night made some deb smittenkitchen and by god she's done it again. fall bliss salad: yeagh. really good. i simply was not going to blitz the shallots in anything so i just chopped em up after roasting and mixed them in. had to use dried cranberries instead of pomegranate because grocery store limitations but that was still very tasty and served a similar niche. lemon chicken with potatoes and chickpeas: so because of a different oven chicken thighs recipe i like that has radishes i added radishes to the veggies. i also had to double the recipe and, uh oh, potatoes super would not fit in there, so i just did normal-ass baked potatoes and they were good. really satisfying meal, the amount of chopping means it's definitely more than 10 min prep but once all was chopped it all came together nicely.
i've started looking at some of her rosh hashanah recipes for next week ... she has a crazy russian layered honey cake that looks great but is a multi-day project so i think not. her normal honey cake looks great, and so does her brisket, so that's what i'll be doing. i haven't done rosh hashanah with my family in years so it will be nice.
misc: bonus image from my apartment. i miss her.
my brother is having A Procedure done today and we're all shitting our pants only a little bit about it. my mom dropped his ass off at 6am and now we're just ... waiting.
