Sea below, Moon above tell me all about love
His arms around my waist as if he would never let me go. Not again; not ever. I take this moment to gaze into his eyes, as blue as the deep sea we are holding each other in; as pink as the loveliest spring when our kisses get sweeter. He’s smiling, but there’s a glint of mischiviness so his. I ask close to his ear “what are you thinking of?”
“You.” His answers are never this open, this simple or this short; so, I look at him again, now with confusion, “thinking of me, eh? And what exactly are thinking of me?” I move my arms, tightening the embrace around his neck. A need starts to ignite.
“That I’ve never seen your body like this, touched by the moonlight, and caressed by the salty water… it is… mesmerizing” he speaks in a dreamy voice; and his dual colored eyes wander from my face to the curve of my breasts.
I inch closer and notice his uneven breath as my nipples harden in contact with his defined chest, “well, I suppose it is the first time we skinny dip” I say with myrth; and his smile grows, showing his canines.
A wild look crosses his features, “surprising, isn’t it that the God of the Sea hasn’t taken his bride to savor the sea sooner.” His clever glint never left, “how about we take it to the next level?”
I knew Qi Yi. I knew that sweet tone and that shimmer in his eyes; yet, I let myself be enchanted by the merman. His hand guides me to a shallower part of the beach, and we lay on a large and warm rock. The gentleness of it only being outmatched by his feather-like touch on the side of my face.
“May I?”
I nod and he makes his move, turning fully to me and planting a wishful kiss on my lonely lips. We engage in a synchronical dance, kissing, nibbling and licking until my breath runs out.
“Out of breath?” I shoot him a soft angry look, of course the fish would breath better close to water, but the look does not last, as his lips now move to my jaws, “easy for you to say, stupid fish.”
He emits a sound close to an amused growl, “you just need practice… and I’ve got plenty of time and experience”, he says biting my neck.
I gasp softly and automatically move my hand to his hair, begging him to stay a little longer.
He knows me well. He has my sensitive neck mapped on the front of his mind; and as the teaser that he is, his lips peck my most delicate area just below my ear lobe. I melt right there.
His lips give place to his skilled tongue, and alongside his hot breath fanning that spot, it creates the perfect trap; which can be attested by my shameless moaning.
“Maybe the moon and the sea did meet in the past…” he is talking in riddles again. About something I seem to have forgotten.
I don’t let him sulk in it for longer, “I hope the sea will accept the moon once again.”
Our lips crash, this time with fierceness, “the sea will always seek the moon, and embrace it.” His words spilled in the heat of that moment penetrate my mind; and somewhere I see him, swimming over to me in all of his Godhood magnificence.
“Qi Yi…” a single tear runs down; but he seems to understand what went through my mind as I felt it.
“That’s right. You’ve come back for me.” He gently caresses my cheeks; joy written all over his face, “my savior came back to me.”
His mark glows redder than ever, “does it hurt?”
He lets the question hang for a few moments before giving me an answer, “not anymore”.

Return to Sender (Reincarnation) AU (2)
He is the one helping to sneak a trespassing, young maiden into the Luofu. Yet, she walked slightly ahead of him with ease and he was the one left nervous.
“Isn’t this a bit backward…?”
“Why should I worry when you are looking after me?”
[Keep Reading] for Threadfic ⬇️
Vibrant gold meets soothing peridot.
This is the moment the threads woven onto their beings finally intersect. It was unpredictable. It was unexpected.
Around them, there is the gentle hum of the small ship’s engine. The cargo within the room barely shifts, its contents softly rattling at most as they ride along the smooth journey.
The young lady appears to be around his age, dressed in clothing he swore he saw some inhabits wear on the planet they just departed from. And as alert and alarmed as he is to stumble upon a stowaway, he couldn’t bring himself to point his glaive at her.
She is slender and pale, a little concerningly so (He swore he saw the tail end of some bandages as well hidden under the long fabrics).
As he opens his mouth to speak, he pauses as she lifted a finger before her lips as a gesture of silence. She speaks and he finds himself compelled to listen to her soft voice and gentle tone. “I mean no harm for I carry no malice, nor ill intentions. I am aware that I have trespassed, but if you are to turn me in, I will accept any punishment and abide by the laws of your home. However, all that I ask is to not be returned to my planet.”
He was struck silent, uncertain of how to act. He was merely a Cloud Knight. He was unsure of how to handle such an…odd circumstance.
He takes another evaluation of her clothing and deems that she must be no typical civilian. Possibly someone of a higher position. And the designs remind him of the ones he saw the planet’s people wearing near the church grounds.
Ah…he really hopes the Xianzhou isn’t going to end up unintentionally kidnapping a religiously important person such as a priest.
“…I apologize, miss. I’m merely a Cloud Knight. I cannot guarantee that your conditions will be met. That is for my superiors to decide.” He frowned a bit as he saw her somewhat dejected yet resigned expression.
Against his better judgement, he sighed before continuing. “However…I’d be willing to help keep your presence here undetected until the ship returns to the Luofu. From there, the best I could do is sneak you off & let you go. Whatever you plan to do from there is up to you.”
She looks at him with some surprise, and something in his conscience lightens at the grateful hope in her eyes. “Thank you. Any assistance is appreciated, and I’m aware I’m in no position to ask anything from you.”
“It’s fine.” (Hopefully.) He clears his throat.
“Ah, I’m Jing Yuan. May I know your name?”
“Ottilia.”
Curiously, he tests her name on his tongue, the sequence of sounds unfamiliar to him. She seems to take notice and smiled kindly. “…How about you refer to me with a name from your home?”
He blinks with surprise before considering it seriously. He eventually ends up thoughtfully mumbling a name to himself that seems to stick.
“That sounds fine.”
He startles out of his thoughts, not realizing he had spoken loud enough to be heard. “Ah, are…are you sure? You’re not worried it could mean something bad?”
“You seem rather genuine. So, I’ll trust your judgement.” She gives a pleased hum before meeting his gaze.
“It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Jing Yuan. You may refer to me as, Yi.”

多情却似总无情
At night, when the lanterns burn low, Helian Yi wishes he could trust Jing Beiyuan. (For Qi Ye Week Day 2: Trust/Betrayal)
Rating: Teen & Up Words: 1.2k Set in the first life, featuring canon-typical Trust Issues lol
Read on Ao3 (or keep reading below the cut)
It's dimly lit in his quarters in the eastern palace when Jing Beiyuan comes to visit him. He started to extinguish some of the lanterns himself while he was, supposedly, getting ready to retire.
There's no formal announcement of his arrival. Jing Beiyuan simply arrives and is let in without question, allowed to seek him out as he pleases, without precaution. Helian Yi looks up when he slips inside, closing the door behind him.
"Beiyuan," Helian Yi greets, rising from his desk.
"Your Highness, I discussed the matter with Minister Chen this morning," Jing Beiyuan says, a folded piece of paper in hand. "Here's the list of people who had involvement with the contraband silk."
Helian Yi reaches out to accept the paper, dread already growing in his stomach before he opens it.
They only discovered the illegal activity the other night. But, as he's well learned by now, Jing Beiyuan is nothing but efficient. And nothing but ruthless, it may seem, as Helian Yi wonders what threats or bribes he had to make to get Minister Chen to not only confess, but to rat his co-conspirators out.
(Why can't Beiyuan just leave this work to Zhou Zishu?)
Whatever face he's made, Jing Beiyuan notices. He gives Helian Yi a slight smile, eyes crinkling at the corners, and takes a seat on the other side of the desk.
"It's not pleasant business, Your Highness," Jing Beiyuan says with a sigh. A strand of hair has come loose from his top knot, hanging down in front of his face.
(It's not pleasant business. No one asked Beiyuan to get involved, and least of all Helian Yi. No one ever asked Beiyuan to go to such lengths.)
He really shouldn't find it so charming. But Jing Beiyuan is already reaching for the wine Helian Yi started on without him, pouring himself a cup (because of course there are two cups. Even with his reservations, he can't help but think of Beiyuan anyway). When Jing Beiyuan looks back up at him with a tilted head and a soft, questioning gaze, Helian Yi swallows and sits back down. "Thank you, Beiyuan," he eventually says, following Jing Beiyuan's example and pouring himself another cup of wine.
Jing Beiyuan smiles. It seems beautiful and genuine, and Helian Yi doesn't doubt that it just might be, but it's unnerving how difficult it is to tell apart from the smile he greets Helian Yi's brothers with, or the one he wears when making threats of blackmail to court officials.
"Is there something wrong?" Jing Beiyuan asks, still with that soft gaze. It's not quite right that he looks cute like this, with his handsome features so gently contorted, his brow slightly furrowed.
Helian Yi smiles now. "No, there's nothing wrong."
When Jing Beiyuan nods, satisfied, the strand of hair slipping further in front of his face, he can't take it anymore. He reaches out across the desk toward that strand of hair. He only realizes what he's doing when the strand is already caught between his fingers. But there's no taking it back now; he's already shown this casual gesture of affection, already exposed his vulnerable underbelly to the predator. He carefully tucks the strand behind Jing Beiyuan's ear. He tries hard not to notice the way Jing Beiyuan swallows, or the way his ears have gone pink at their tips.
He knows that Jing Beiyuan likes him. He's known for some time now.
How could he not?
Helian Yi, now met with Jing Beiyuan's strangely vulnerable expression, finds himself unable to look away. Though half of the lanterns have been extinguished, they cast the area in a weak light, settling long shadows across the walls and the screens of the windows. In the half light, Jing Beiyuan seems almost softened at his edges. It's aided by the gentle curves of Beiyuan's lips, the handsome slope of his small mountain brows.
The moment passes, and Jing Beiyuan blinks, looking down, and raises his eyebrows in amusement. "Don't crush the note, Your Highness. You still need to read it."
Helian Yi looks down at his hands. He didn't realize he had clenched his fist at all, crumpling the paper in his grip. He immediately releases it and sets it to the side.
Jing Beiyuan gives a small sigh, bringing his cup to his lips to down the rest of the wine. He sets the cup down, eyeing the note that's been set aside, and then scrutinizes whatever reservation is now written on Helian Yi's face. Unlike Jing Beiyuan, Helian Yi has never been able to help giving himself away. Jing Beiyuan leans forward, fingers tapping on his cup almost absently. He laughs weakly. "This list won't bite you, Your Highness. Surely you trust me a little more than that."
Helian Yi laughs in return with a mirth he does not feel. His smile seems almost unnatural, stretching his mouth at the edges. "Of course I do," he says. I don't. I don't know how. How can he look a man in the face, knowing fully the horrors he is capable of, all for a cause he's taken upon himself, and trust the man to stay content with just this? The infatuation Jing Beiyuan holds for him scares, too, him sometimes; no, no one ever asked Beiyuan to do these things, least of all Helian Yi himself. But Beiyuan does them undoubtedly because he wants to.
Jing Beiyuan is a man capable of doing unspeakable things out of fickle sentiments.
But Jing Beiyuan is also a man with a handsome face and a charming scoff. He shakes his head. "Are you sure that there's nothing wrong? You've been acting strange this whole conversation."
"Really?" Helian Yi asks, helpless but to meet his warm, dark gaze.
Jing Beiyuan smiles. He seems very close.
"You're distracted," Jing Beiyuan says.
You're distracting. "I've had a lot on my mind," Helian Yi returns, still unable to tear his gaze away from his soft eyes, his soft-looking lips.
It isn't really a lie. It's not a lie at all.
But of course, Jing Beiyuan always notices. He smiles as he somehow leans in even closer, feeling but inches away from Helian Yi's face. "Anything you'd like to talk about?"
Helian Yi opens his mouth before he can properly form any thoughts, let alone a response, and finds himself only able to stare. Jing Beiyuan waits, patient, even when not response comes. Jing Beiyuan looks down, breaking their eye contact.
It's scary, what Jing Beiyuan does to him.
Helian Yi finally closes his mouth clears his throat, sitting back.
"Beiyuan..." he trails off, wondering what to say. What excuse to make. The dread from before returns, churning his stomach with sudden apprehension. "Sorry. I'm just... tired," he says, lamely.
Jing Beiyuan smiles. Helian Yi cannot tell if it's sincere or not. He wants to believe it is, with his gaze so gentled in this light. "Then I'll leave Your Highness to rest. Goodnight."
"Goodnight, Beiyuan," he echoes, more softly than he intended.
He feels almost ashamed of the relief that floods him when Jing Beiyuan leaves.
Later that night, he does read the note. He looks over the list of names of people he can't trust, written in Jing Beiyuan's elegant hand, crumpled by his own.
There's one more name on there that he cannot write, but carries in his heart.

*some C-drama spoilers*
Rant: I admit that my sample size for this is very small (five dramas) compared to all the content out there, but just based on the Chinese period dramas Unchained Love and Love is an Accident, what is with these female leads??? Like, okay, you can trend away from stereotypical female leads if you want, but make it make sense. Usually, for romantic dramas, you want the couple to feel equal in terms of ability or respectability so that it feels like they’re truly made for each other… but in both of those dramas, the female leads are annoying, come up with the stupidest ideas, and get themselves or the male lead into trouble by being so selfish. And yet, the handsomest, richest, most powerful man is falling for…her??? Like please, be serious.
On the contrary, one of the reasons why I enjoyed The Sword and the Brocade, Love Between Fairy and Devil, and Miss the Dragon were because those female leads were actually on the same level as their male leads. In The Sword and the Brocade, Yi Niang was a bit of a know-it-all, but she was smart, loyal, and brave. In Love Between Fairy and Devil, Xiao Lan Hua was annoying in the first half, but she ends up being sacrificial and willing to endure pain for her lover. And in Miss the Dragon, Liu Ying eventually reincarnates into a badass lady boss. Like, these women actually matched their male leads and were interesting and cool. Their arcs showed growth, some kind of charm and depth to their identities, and actual evidence of why these perfect male leads would fall for them and risk their lives for them.
But in Unchained Love and Love is an Accident, the female leads offer literally nothing but stupidity and annoyance. They’re not even good comic relief because it’s excruciating to watch their half-baked plans fail. When the male lead starts to become attracted to them and soft towards them, I’m like ????? Really dude? That does it for you? Like, what is the deal with these frustrating female leads? Give me a middle-class female lead who’s unimpressed by wealth and causes the male lead to change. Give me a cunning female lead who has her defenses up due to hardships she endured but has a change of heart due to the male lead’s gentleness. Give me an enemy tribe leader female lead who can beat up the male lead but finds him amusing and lets him live then eventually is charmed by his honesty and sincerity. If you don’t want a stereotypically helpless or overly feminine female lead, there are literally hundreds of other ways to do it without the idiotic, charmless, selfish brats that we’re supposed to believe made these powerful lords fall deeply in love.
Is it a trend now in period pieces to have this kind of female lead? Like an anti-hero kind of thing? So annoying and honestly, ruins the drama. I watched Unchained Love because I really liked Dylan Wang’s other dramas and Love is an Accident because of Xu Kaicheng, but I literally had to fast-forward all the parts with the female leads because I couldn’t stand them. I don’t think I even finished either of them—does it get any better? I didn’t even hang around long enough to find out.
Am I the only one feeling this way, or are other people just as annoyed???

RELATIONSHIP BUILDING
@archaictold asked: ⭐️☎🎼👋!
Send ⭐️ (or multiple) for a headcanons about our muses.
Zhilan is such a kind person that Nicolette believes she'll never be able to truly let him in out of fear of rejection. Despite this, she still feels an inexplicable sense of ease and calm in his presence due to his gentle nature alone. His good heart sometimes leaves her with some residual guilt, but unlike Wang Yi, Nicolette does not censor her language or general behavior. Instead, she finds herself changing slowly, over time. Under Zhilan's influence ( and @nobully tbh ), Nicolette is able to drop pretense and forced emotion. Her smiles and laughter are, eventually, more sincere, as are the rare, but significant moments of sadness or vulnerability she displays in his company. Subconsciously, Nicolette is drawn to Zhilan's soft compassion, a temperament she's never known— desperate to be accepted and subjected to his tenderness like a wilting flower, without even realizing it.
Send ☎ for your muse’s info in my muses phone (name, ringtone, picture, last text received/sent).

💔 18? 👀👀👀
KISSING MEME | 18. a kiss that draws blood.
‘ You're a weirdo, ' Wang Yi mutters as he wipes blood off the edge of his blade.
"And you sound pent-up. Is that all you want to say?" Next to him, a tall, dark-haired man stands with a palm resting over his shoulder. Blood seeps out from the cracks between his fingers and soaks through his clothes.
Wang Yi keeps his head down as he considers the question. ' Please don't kill me? ' he tries after a second. ' Or maybe, don't sneak up on someone holding a knife? '
Belial just smiles and leans over far enough to drip blood on the asphalt between them, leaving tiny crimson puddles by their shoes. "What about you take some pity and plug me up nice and tight so I stop leaking from my…hole?"
Wang Yi takes a wary step back, leery of the language. ‘ The knife didn't stab you that hard. '
A completely inappropriate and sensuous moan follows his words, making him further knit his brows. Unfortunately, it doesn't stop Belial from spewing out more filth.
"You left me so wet and excited that I'm still dripping from the inside. After just one thrusta shallow one, too. Though I could teach you some better techniques—"
' NO. No thanks. ' But Wang Yi does frown and brush past him to walk towards the end of the alleyway. ' I don't have bandages, but we can buy some at a pharmacy two blocks away. Just hold on— ' He takes one step into the streets, freezes, and doubles back again.
Belial watches in amusement as Wang Yi almost runs to the wall at the end of the their dead end and starts looking for a place to climb up.
"What is it?"
' Yeah, nothing too bad, just some people I'm avoiding coming this way. '
“And you’re running because?"
' I'm not equipped to fight off five guys. ' That's as much as he'll share. Stupid 30-minute time limit, he could barely brainwash anything within those parameters. Meanwhile, the walls are too high and too smooth. There are no window ledges close enough to hold onto, much less trash cans to climb. He is so, so screwed.
Wang Yi doubles back again and decides he'll just make a run for it. ' I'll lead them off while you stay here. We can meet up later— '
Belial smoothly sidesteps to block his way. "When we’ve barely started our foreplay? You're wounding me here, human."
' Yeah well, maybe fix some of your pickup lines first, ' he retorts and tries to shove him aside. Immediately Belial groans, slumping against the wall while still clutching his injury, and Wang Yi stops in spite of the exaggerated acting.
' Is it really that bad? ' It does seem like the spot hasn't stopped bleeding since he stabbed it, but who knows what funky physiology made up this guy's parts? Besides perpetual horny, he means.
"Oh, yeah," Belial replies back breathlessly. "First time penetration's always a—"
' Forget I asked. ' Wang Yi grimaces. He hears footsteps next, so when Belial turns his head towards the sound of the noise he impulsively cups the man's face and turns him back. ' Can you not look? The point is to avoid attracting attention. '
Belial opens his mouth to (10/10) make another lewd joke and Wang Yi thinks, god no not again please shut the fuck up before pulling him down to kiss him.
It works.
Maybe a little too well…?!
He'd only meant to touch their lips together but Belial welcomes him all the way, returning his gesture with a kiss he can only describes as soft but sensual. To which Wang Yi thinks, weird, I thought he'd be rougher for some reason?
Wait, it's not like I actually wanted to kiss him—
"You should get into it more. They're looking,' Belial murmurs around his mouth and huh, that's gentle too.
Whatever. It's like one of those clichéd movie plots. So Wang Yi listens and closes his eyes to kiss back. The group of footsteps that stopped outside the alley eventually pick up again and move on. He waits for a while until they've faded away, trying and half-failing to ignore the the guy still sucking his face to the point his lips have turned numb, and opens his mouth to speak.
' I think we're don—nngh? ' Words turn garbled as a tongue darts in, and suddenly everything feels far too hot, like he's been doused in a tub of liquid honey. Something tastes tantalizingly sweet and it's filling his mouth with a tremendous thirst that makes him restless.
...apples? Wang Yi identifies the flavor before he flushes. ' W-wai, uhm...! '
The tongue probes deeper and he almost chokes, not from lack of air, but the new heights of ecstasy the sensation brings. His legs buckle and Belial thoughtfully pushes him back until he's plastered against the alley wall. Wang Yi ends up clinging to the guy's shirt (what little of it he can grab anyways) for support as his mind goes completely blank.
What the hell what the hell what the hell?
Is this still a kiss, or is Belial just fucking his mouth? The thought is as incredible as it is insane. He tries to back away, but fingers catches the back of his head and quietly urge him forward. They're wet and slick against his hair, and he realizes that this is the same hand that was resting over Belial's injury as his nostrils fill with the scent of blood. That almost wakes him up, though in a different way—blood pounding through his ears as his partner deepens their kiss to the point that Wang Yi makes an involuntary noise in his throat.
He almost loses it, but again the thought flitters through his head: too soft. It's all pleasure without the pain, which feels too much like a dream to drown in its depths, so the next time Belial tongues him (well, tongues him more)—
—Wang Yi bites down.
It's his subconscious urges coming to play, but the taste of blood and muffled grunt that follows fills him with more satisfaction than anything else. That is until Belial laughs in his mouth and bites back—on the lips—and Wang Yi realizes between the pain that, oh, I like this too. Hazily he moves his hand across the man's chest, higher towards his shoulder, until he finds the spot still seeping blood and presses down with his thumb—nothing.
No reaction?
A little disappointed, Wang Yi curls his fingers to dig in with his nails and—oh. Oh. His eyes flutter open to the sensation of fingers gripping his chin as something sharp presses against his cheek and damn, I think his nails are longer than mine.
An angel smiles down at him before he’s eaten alive.
***
“You like it rough, don't you? Entering me dry like that."
' ...please shut up. '
There is blood on Wang Yi's lips (his) and more (not his) smeared on his neck and clothes as he sits on his heels on the ground of a dingy alleyway in Cotes, wondering what the hell prompted him to get mouthfucked by a stranger for too-many-minutes straight before he got inspired to finish the session with a knife to Belial's gut.
This one didn't go that deep either, but it's far enough to stick, and Wang Yi just ends up leaving it there while he stops to question his life choices. His mouth is painfully (pleasantly?) numb, his clothes are undone, and there is probably dried blood sticking to his hair but it's still a world better than the guy who looks like he's half-dipped himself in red dye for kicks on one side of his torso.
We look like we tried to murder each other.
At least their pants were still on. A part of him's wondering why this guy hasn't killed him yet for daring to stab him twice but the other part knows exactly what's up, and before Wang Yi can have one side muffle the other Belial's already pulled out the weapon and dropped it on the ground by his feet.
"Next time," he says, sounding more amused than anything else, "I'll show you how to penetrate someone properly."
' There is no next— ' Wings flap and winds pick up; once again, the fallen angel is gone.
Wang Yi licks his bloodied lips and thinks, Shit.
#encarnal#drabbles;#blood cw#suggestive cw#violence tw#i said no biting but here we are#this ended up just being crack!makeout post but i blame angst threads throwing me for a loop#my brain is mush my heart is paste let's get them to eat each other's face (?)

Gentle for the WIP Game this week please?
He kissed the corner of her mouth, light and almost teasing, and Yi-Che gave a startled giggle, meeting his eyes. Though gone a deeper, darker blue than she’d ever seen them before, they were still soft, and Yi-Che felt a tiny curl of tension in her chest unwind as she tilted her head to meet his kiss, cupping his cheek with one hand. Sho made a rough sound against her mouth, and Yi-Che felt him tense between her thighs before he settled just a little closer, making her gasp.

❤️🧡💛💚💙💜💘💝
wow ok i was not expecting so many all at once😅 but it was a fun way to start my day☺️ so to make this post not so long imma put my answers under the cut
❤️: What teases fluster you the most?
well honestly im very susceptible to most teases but I guess telling me how bad something is gonna tickle, or imma turn u into a giggling begging mess is also good, or even just the classic tickle tickle tickle tease will get a nice reaction outta me cuz even just hearing the word gets me super flustered.🤭 (tho my favorite kinds are petnames)
🧡: Favorite tools?
feathers def at the top but i also like electric toothbrushes n nails they just gaaaaaah /)//////(\💕💕💕💕
💛: Favorite spots?
I really like most places like the ribs, feet, knees, underarms, neck, ears, back, (only cuz my back, n ears are huge ass melt spots >//////<) sometimes tummy, im not super picky (i think thats partly cuz im just touch starved😅) edit: so I think I've realize my ABSOLUTE favorites r my underarms, feet n knees....that is all -////-
💚: Gentle tickles or wrecking?
irl- gentle because of mental n health reasons. (Which does kinda suck ngl😓)

💙: What type of lee/ler are you? (Shy, bratty, sadistic, teasy, etc)
as a lee stubborn mostly tho it can depend on my mood. I like bein a brat n smartass, n make my Ler work for my reactions but get me goin long enough n m just shy n subby lee who wants to be a good boy /)////(\

💜: Describe your dream tickle partner.
my first thought was someone i know in the server im in (i think u know who u are hehe🤭) but someone who comunicates with me whether lee or ler. cuz that way we both feel heard. (n m really bad at picking up hints😅) but communication, trust n comfort r very important to me.

*She grabbed Yi's hands gently, preventing her from hurting herself anymore, trying to calm her down, speaking in a soft, gentle tone*
"Hey, yi, pumpkin, can you look at me, please?"
Maybe you're right, but what comes to a time where you can't train her anymore, if she can't be teached anymore and she is still like this. What, then? Do you just leave her like that? She will always medd care, and can you really have her suffer like that?
*Yi looks down to the floor, her silence is tense and heavy*
*Some silent tears roll down her cheek, she claws hard into her hands until she draws blood*

SkekYi the Gardener
Even though skekHak failed to choke out UrYa, the damage was already done. skekYi's vocal-chords were permanently damaged and now can no longer speak. Taking a liking to flora Yi was put in charge in maintaining the gardens.
Yi does not spend a lot of time with the others, especially not Hak. Yi uses sign language to communicate.

Cutie Pie Review - It’s All About the Chemistry
quick pitch
Cutie Pie
(Thailand, Feb-May on YouTube)
8/10
Main Tropes: arranged marriage, age gap, secret identity, cohabitation, rich kid problems, he’s in engineering
It was a real pleasure to see Zee again (Why R U?) and his new love interest is very well cast. MaxNat turned in their usual consummate side dish action, (origin Why R U? also Y-Destiny & Close Friend) and it’s always fun to see Perth (My Engineer) and the other guest cameos.
With very high production values at at first I thought they were gunning for Korea, but I’m got a real Japanese feel from this one, Thai style of course but there is definitely a lot of visual referencing live action yaoi. Also the music and sound were pretty darn good.
It took me a few episodes to accept the absurd conceit of this show and its quirky characters and motivation as ALSO EXTREMELY traditionally yaoi and very lifestyle D/s. After that I just rolled with it. I realized that if this had come from Japan I would have given it a pass immediately. Why be tough on it just because it comes from Thailand? So, about half way through I liked it A LOT more.
The chronic miscommunication:
Really tested my patience at the end tho.
THAI LANGUAGE CORNER
Why Ai'Hia was so funny in Cutie Pie
A Mini Essay on My Love of LianKuea in Cutie Pie (and ZeeNunew's performances)
Honestly I just love LianKuea's dynamic, it's so D/s but also so classic yaoi seme/uke. The way Lian smiles when his Nu does something cute is so damn sweet. He’s practically the definition of a caring Dom. Killing Kuea (and us) with stern softness. Zee did a fantastic job with this character. That said NuNew also managed to give us an appealing uke with gumption and a crush and a failure to understand self actualization who we liked.
But let's be honest here, the actors chemistry is REALLY good.
(After Semantic Error, I'm beginning to develop theories about same-sex actor age gaps and the chemistry development quality that results. But I need to gather more data first.)
Look, there is something about the way Zee looks as his acting partners. His eyes are very doting, no mater the line delivery or any other aspects of the scene. He's been given these fierce stern roles to play in Fighter and Lian but he always seems to manage to temper his characters with fondness.
I like doting affection on screen.
I also like to see a seme actually sexually intersted in his uke, otherwise the archetype comes off as more inclined to ownership and less about desire. To be frank, Zee is also good at transmitting the "I want to bone" thing.
Since a seme character is aggressive and obsessive and intrusive he has to be tempered by some sort of softness to appeal to a modern audience. Add in authentic feeling sexual interest and the seme character MUST be gentled by the actor's performance, or we end up with a H4 situation. And Zee manages to transmit all that with just eye work. It's great to watch.
But NuNew did a wonderful job too. Kuea was clearly interested and willing and game. There’s no sign of the Blushing Maiden with this uke. Thank fuck, could we PLEASE kill that archetype?
As much as I love a Daddy who wants his boy, a boy who needs his Daddy is about a billion times better. And genuine sexual interest from the uke character is still far too rare in BL.
In this regard, Cutie Pie was a breath of fresh air.
What can I say?
They love each other, they just idiots
is a favorite of mine.
But...
They WANT each other, they just idiots?
Yeah. That one is gonna get me EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
The other pairs were good too!
MaxNat serve us high heat while smiling the whole time. Which was kinda charming and basically their signature. These two just seem to have fun together. It’s nice.
Language note on Yi’s confession: Diao’s nickname khondiao means “only” or a”lone” in Thai? So when Yi confesses, he’s using world play when he says “I love you only”. More here.
However, I gotta say my favorite kiss of this show (and it was VERY kissy), was actually Syn and Nuea. Adorable. I wish we had gotten more of these two.
Cutie Pie ended very navel gaze maudlin and sappy for my taste. The absurd proposal back-and-forth thing was kinda par for the course with Lian and Kuea and their miscommunication antics, but I was bored by it.
This show went from absurd to appealing to annoying and then back to absurd again - but always sappy and nicely high heat for what ultimate seemed to be an equal marriage propaganda piece. Which I’m fine with, but Taiwan’s Faded did it better in 20 minutes back in 2017.
Nevertheless, on the strength of the chemistry of all three couples, the odd but very old fashioned romance tropes, and clear high rewatchability this one is getting a 8/10. Watch this one for the pretty, give it a pass on depth.

山河令 Photobooks | WenZhou Intro Translations
Heya guys! I’m translating some tidbits from the official SHL photobook, starting with the below. Will post all the costume design inspirations up (all 14 of them) when I’m done, but you can check my Twitter thread on @/jiuxiaoer for updates if you are curious, am on Set 4 so far.
Photo quality isn’t great because I don’t have a good camera or scanner haha so bear with me!
***Please do not repost my photos and translations ANYWHERE***
Name: Zhou Zishu
Origins: The 5th manor lord of Four Seasons Manor. When Zhou Zishu was sixteen, he inherited the position after his beloved shifu Qin Huaizhang died of illness. Unable to keep Four Seasons Manor’s reputation from declining, he led the elite from the manor and pledged their support to Jin Province’s military commissioner, to which the Zhou family was loyal to. He then formed Tian Chuang (Window of Heaven). Zhou Zishu’s aim in establishing Tian Chuang was to give himself to the mission of upholding justice, helping the weak and to be a beacon of light in dark, uncertain times. He hoped to pray for fortune and happiness for all who lived, to ensure peace, but he could not help but feed the predator (Prince Jin) himself, turning into an caged beast (eagle) in the struggle for power. The numbers of Four Seasons Manor’s original members declined to zero, all 81 of them.
After painfully losing all his brothers and loved ones, disheartened and unmotivated, he decides to leave Tian Chuang. He hammers one nail every three months out of the seven required ones, a price to pay for him to steal the next three years away for himself and manages to buy his freedom. From then on, he puts on a disguise and hopes to spend the rest of his remaining days wandering jianghu. That is, until he meets his zhiji coincidentally at the end of a bridge in Yue Province, and that’s when he realizes fate has other plans for him.
Appearance: He seems arrogant and distant, is handsome and beautiful like no other. He only has two clear sides - black and white - and his face is slim and pale. HIs mouth is as thin as a single line, and all in all, this adds a tinge of heartlessness to him. His eyes are incredibly bright, his gaze half hidden and whenever he raises his eyes, one shudders.
Personality: Determined, mature, is magnanimous and open to listening to others. He is someone to be feared/respected, gentle and strong. He has the reputation of being “Saint Zhou”. He knows that some things should not be done, but still has to be done, and similarly, that some things can be done, but he is unable to. He is as deep as a frigid pond that extends thousands of feet deep, as calm as quietly flowing water, akin to two layers of grey dust (i.e. there are two layers to his character).
Accessories:
(1) Bai Yi Sword
A light and soft blade that has a handle resembling a crown, fit for a gentleman. The handle is flexible and has carvings that mirror that of the lines in white jade for embellishment. The blade itself has the two words “Bai Yi” inscribed on it in clerical script. It can usually be hidden around the waist and can be used at will whenever necessary.
It was forged by one of the first generation of master blacksmiths Rong Changqing and was originally called “Nameless” (wu ming), before it was changed to Bai Yi by Ye Baiyi. It was then gifted to Qin Huaizhang, and then passed down to Zhou Zishu.
The sword will display different types of characteristics to reflect the wielder’s different state of minds and personalities. In Zhou Zishu’s hands, the sword is clean, bright and decisive, and is truly a sword made for a gentleman. In Wen Kexing’s hands, one cannot evade or hide from the sword and can penetrate the toughest of objects.
(2) Two Pouches
One is white, with matching-colored strings and yellow tassels. The other is forest green, with dark wavy prints, paired with matching-colored strings and blue-gray tassels.
(3) Alcohol Gourd
About the size of a palm with an actual vine as a handle and a screw-on cap. The brown rope connects the handle to the waist of the gourd and is convenient to hold onto.
(4) Alcohol Vessel
Made of bamboo and wrapped with a brown layer of leather. Has carvings as illustration on the sides, the handle is colored and is spectacular with gold accents.
(5) Vials for Disguise
White jade liquid vials - with brown tassels to accompany the bottles which are coupled with red coral beads.
Name: Wen Kexing
Origins: Healer’s Valley Wen Ruyu and Gu Miaomiao’s son. His parents are implicated in the Rong Xuan incident and die as a result, having lost everything as a young boy, he falls to the depths of the Ghost Valley and has to struggle to survive. Through hundreds of trials and challenges he becomes highly skilled, then takes on the mantle of a the new Ghost Valley Master. Although he has sunken deep into filth and darkness, he keeps his burning, genuine heart; although he resides in hell, he is still unbearably kind. In the pursuit of revenge, he swears to eliminate all the sin and filth from the world, to cleans the world with his own body and commands all the ghosts to clear the nest and head outside, causing chaos within the martial arts world. He originally thought he would live the rest of his life as something that is not fully human, a ghost, but suddenly meets the only light in his lifetime.
Appearance: Handsome and elegant, carefree; with well-defined features, with doe-eyed innocent eyes, confident and at ease; once you see him you’ll forget his origins/background. His face is fair and white, his eyes bright. It is as if a deity/immortal has descended into the human realms, so beautiful, akin to a demon(ness).
Personality: Seemingly evil and out of control, someone who laughs and rages for no reason, but has a passionate heart. He is heartless and distant to everyone around him, immensely arrogant, but is incredibly warm to people close to him. He is akin to the beauty of the last vestiges of the spring season, a kaleidoscope of colours within black.
Accessories:
(1) Fan
The design draft shows a white fan made with seashells and ivory. The fan guard would be made of carved ivory with clouds for prints, while the ribs and face of the fan are made with shiny shells which look like one cohesive piece when opened. Bright and elegant, beautiful beyond belief. However, because using these animal-made materials is prohibited, they changed it to a wooden fan in the show itself. A fan is a representation of a man’s status and where his culture lies and its beauty is enough to amaze the world.
The fan is not only a refined-looking belonging that lies in his sleeves, but also a light and convenient weapon. When faced with his enemies, he can take them out in a single move.
(2) Short Blade
The handle of this blade is made out of white jade and is encrusted with silver embellishments and red gems. The sheathe has some silver metallic carvings and a white tassel with jade beads. There are further carvings on the skeleton of the blade, and it can cut through nails and other metals, even gold and jade (an idiom to describe how firm, strong and solid the blade is). The blade is short and easy to conceal, and is Wen Kexing’s defense weapon he holds close to him.
(3) White Jade Hairpin
The hairpin that Gu Miao Miao and Wen Ruyu entrusts to him before they die, and this hairpin is the key to the armory. In Episode 31, Wen Kexing gifts this pin to Zhou Zishu, and in Episode 36, Wen Kexing takes it from Zhou Zishu’s hair and uses it to open the armory.
(4) White Jade Flute
The body of the flute is made with white jade and it gets its shape from bamboo. Both ends have silver embellishments, the silver parts were manufactured separately. The tassel is in silver with a honey-colored (amber) bead at the top. The final product got rid of the bamboo sections and extra silver embellishments to make it look simpler.
In Episode 4, Wen Kexing uses this flute for the first time to play the Bodhi Heart Clearing song. It is firm, with hundreds of turns and twists, no regrets, all to aid Zhou Zishu in recovering from his inner injuries.
(5) Alcohol Vessel
The vessel body is made out of bamboo with a brown layers of leather encasing it. Golden accents, carvings on the side and a dark-colored handle.
(6) Night Pearl Stone
In Episode 18, Wen kexing uses this pearl to look into the mountain valleys of Long Yuan Pavilion.
(7) Alcohol/Wine Holders
In Episode 3, Wen Kexing orders Ah Xiang to use this as a holder to help Zhou Zishu heat up his wine

Catboy!Xiao
Genre: Smut/NSFW
Pairings: Catboy!Xiao x reader
Wordcount: 700+
Honestly, I just couldn’t get one amazing fanart of catboy Xiao out of my head and it manifested into this. Also, this is kinda amazing because I’m asexual, although if this continues on, I’m gonna call myself xiaosexual instead. Anyways, I hope that you enjoy.
Requests are open, and I promise that I can write for more than Xiao, even though he seems to be the only thing on my brain right now.
Masterpost
*~*~*
Sex
· So, to start, tomcats have abysmal stamina when it comes to mating, especially compared to queens.
· Xiao’s pride means that he likes being on top a lot, despite his inexperience with sex.
· Xiao struggles with raising his hips a lot, especially after the first round. He is a stubborn, stubborn dear who wants to go more than a round though, even if it exhausts him, and it really does.
· The first time you see him struggle, you tried to flip him around so that he doesn’t have to work so hard to raise his hips anymore. Pridefully as he is, he hissed at you, honest to archon hissed at you, smacked your hands away and pumped his hips even harder to prove that he can do it.
· Poor darling exhausted himself so badly that he could barely keep his eyes open for the entire next day. (Hopefully nothing major happened in Liyue in that time.)
· Nowadays, you (hopefully) know better than to wound his pride and cause him to over-exhaust himself again.
· But, for some reason, he doesn’t really see helping him raise his hips as a mark against his pride so do that instead.
You can see how he is starting to struggle to raise and lower his hips and how his breaths start to grow harsher from strain. The next time he comes down, you tug his hair gently to pull him down lower to press a kiss on the tip of his nose. He chases and catches your lips with his with a whine when you pull away. It seems to rejuvenate him a bit, as your kisses always do. You know better than to think that it would last though, prompting you to bring your hands to his hips, caressing his soft, velvety skin.
“qin ai de, lai, rang wo bang ni yi xia.” (i)
You help him raise and lower his hips, making sure not to go too fast and exhaust him. You can tell when he is close when his whole body starts to tremble, and his ears flattened against his head. You slide your hands higher up from his hips to his back, pulling him flush against your bare skin, chest to chest.
He immediately buries his face in the crook of your neck, his hot short breaths tickling your neck. He comes with a groan of your name before sinking his teeth into your neck. He loves the sight of you walking around with his mark, marking you as his and his alone, even if he gets embarrassed when Verr looks at him knowingly.
You rub his back soothingly and alternate between pressing butterfly kisses to any part of him that you can reach and murmuring sweet nothings to him as you wait for his breaths to even out from his harsh gasps.
Aftercare
· Please please please keep a glass of water next to the bedside table beforehand, because if you leave to get a glass of water, you would more often than not find Xiao passed out from exhaustion by the time you get back.
· You have to coax him to keep awake as you force help him drink that glass of water. You tried tea once because who doesn’t like tea, right? Unfortunately, the tea turned lukewarm by the time you have finished, and Xiao finds lukewarm tea icky.
· Xiao normally has enough presence of mind to whine when you leave to get a cloth to clean him up, even if he can’t find the energy to keep his eyes open any longer.
· You wipe him clean gently with a warm soft cloth, pressing gentle kisses to his skin once in a while.
· When you crawl into bed next to him, his arms automatically go around you and pull you closer. You can feel any leftover tension dissipate from him, because he is the most relaxed when you are in his arms.
· Good luck leaving those arms, because Xiao has a grip like a steel trap even when he is exhausted. His arms only go tighter and tighter the more you struggle. Instead, please just admire his sleeping face.
· When he finally wakes up, you would draw him a warm bath with herbs to sooth his aches, since he used muscles that he isn’t used to using. He stumbles a little when walking sometimes. However, if you try to reach for him to help him, he would shoot you a glare strong enough to turn almond tofu sour.
· You asked Zhongli for what herbs to use. Xiao was so embarrassed he couldn’t look Zhongli in the eye for months.
· Post-sex Xiao is a needy Xiao, so he would definitely pull you in the bath with him. He refuses to let you out of his arms for longer than absolutely necessary.

Baobei
Celebration time! This is my 700th fic! I really wanted this to be Mingcheng so you get a bonus fic during the Xicheng White Day event ;)
Jiang Cheng doesn’t actually know what’s going to happen once he gets back to Lotus Pier and it scares him.
He’s pretty sure that Nie Mingjue won’t lose his head over this—they have talked about adopting a kid or two after all—but by some unspoken agreement they have always talked about adopting a boy.
A girl somehow never seemed like an option and Jiang Cheng isn’t even sure why not. A girl can lead a Sect just as well and she can be just as good of a fighter, but the thought of getting a boy seemed more traditionally acceptable and so that was what they always talked about.
But the baby currently in Jiang Cheng’s arms is very much not a boy and Jiang Cheng doesn’t know how Nie Mingjue is going to feel about that.
Jiang Cheng already loves her dearly, and he’s not sure what he’s going to do if Nie Mingjue disapproves of this.
And it’s not even only the gender questions; they talked about adopting in the future. Not right now. But here the little girl is—Jiang Cheng has referred to her as baobei for now, unwilling to decide on a name without Nie Mingjue’s input—and when she gurgles up at him, he is full with love for her.
If Nie Mingjue doesn’t want this—a girl, or a kid in general yet—then they’ll have a problem.
Jiang Cheng can’t deny that he’s almost shaking with nerves when he steps off Sandu in the inner courtyard, and his disciples are looking at him with huge eyes when they see the baby in his arms.
“We will prepare everything,” his head disciple says and Jiang Cheng only nods at him, before he marches off towards the training field, where he’s certain he’ll find Nie Mingjue.
It’s about that time of the day where he likes to run drills and Jiang Cheng can hear Baxia sing before he even sees Nie Mingjue.
He steps up to the training field, keeping quite for now so that he doesn’t interrupt Nie Mingjue’s training, but of course he notices him almost immediately.
Jiang Cheng can see a small frown on his face when he sees that Jiang Cheng is holding something, but he finishes the sequence he was doing, before he lowers Baxia down.
“My heart,” Nie Mingjue greets him, and Jiang Cheng takes it as the permission it is to come closer now. “What do you have there?” Nie Mingjue asks him then and his eyes go wide when he sees a little hand stick out of the bundle in Jiang Cheng’s arms.
“Is that a baby?” Nie Mingjue asks and he’s reaching out for the baby before Jiang Cheng has time to answer.
“Yes,” Jiang Cheng agrees and easily hands his little baobei over.
Nie Mingjue easily takes her and Jiang Cheng is reminded that he took care of Nie Huaisang when he was little, too.
“Hello, there, tiny one,” Nie Mingjue softly says and holds out his finger, which the baby immediately grabs onto.
Jiang Cheng almost starts to cry right then and there, when he sees her tiny, tiny fingers close around Nie Mingjue’s big one.
“Where are your parents?” Nie Mingjue asks, though he doesn’t actually take his eyes off the baby and Jiang Cheng briefly presses his lips together before he speaks.
This is it.
“They died,” he says and when Nie Mingjue’s eyes snap up to him he grimaces. “This night hunt was a bit of a mess,” he then admits and is not prepared for how Nie Mingjue moves his hand over his arm and chest, clearly searching for injuries.
“Are you hurt?” he asks, even though it’s very clear that there are no big injuries on Jiang Cheng and Jiang Cheng shakes his head.
“I’m not seriously injured,” he says and Nie Mingjue throws him a knowing look because he knows what that means.
“But you’re not okay, either,” Nie Mingjue mutters and then pulls Jiang Cheng into a one-armed hug, mindful of the little baby in his other arm.
“I know we didn’t really set a time table for adopting,” Jiang Cheng lowly starts, his eyes glued to the little girl, and Nie Mingjue hums.
“But his parents are dead,” Nie Mingjue finishes for him and then stills when Jiang Cheng tenses in his arm.
“It’s—it’s a girl, actually,” Jiang Cheng lowly tells him and he’s not at all prepared for the surprised breath Nie Mingjue sucks in.
“A girl?” he asks and his voice is doing things Jiang Cheng hasn’t actually heard from him before. “What’s her name?”
“I don’t know,” Jiang Cheng admits. “And I didn’t give her one yet, because—” he can’t bring himself to finish the sentence, can’t admit out loud that he was scared that Nie Mingjue would not want a girl but it seems like Nie Mingjue knows it anyway.
“Because you were scared,” Nie Mingjue finishes for him and then presses a kiss to Jiang Cheng’s head.
“Let’s name her Jiang Xinyi,” Nie Mingjue says after a moment of deliberation and Jiang Cheng pushes away from him so that he can look Nie Mingjue in the eyes.
“What?” he breathes out, but Nie Mingjue isn’t even paying him any attention.
“Well, A-Yi? You’re going to have the most doting fathers you could ever wish for, and you’ll be so spoiled,” Nie Mingjue whispers and strokes a finger down Jiang Xinyi’s face, causing her to make the most adorable scrunchy face in the entire world.
“You’re okay with this?” Jiang Cheng can’t help but to ask and Nie Mingjue smiles down at their daughter.
Their daughter.
“My heart, how could I ever not be okay with having the most perfect daughter and the most perfect husband in existence,” Nie Mingjue easily says and Jiang Cheng feels like a weight falls off him.
“I didn’t dare to hope,” Jiang Cheng admits, because with Nie Mingjue he can. “We talked about adopting boys.”
“And if the chance arises we will get around to that. Or we will adopt another girl. Several maybe even. I don’t care,” Nie Mingjue shrugs. “She can be just as fierce a fighter like you if she wants to be, or she can be a spoilt little princess like Huaisang or she can be soft and gentle like your sister. She can be anything she damn well pleases, now, can’t you, xiao A-Yi?” Nie Mingjue asks and tickles their daughter.
Jiang Cheng hadn’t heard her laugh like that yet, and he’s filled with so much love already he can barely believe it.
“You are damn right about this,” Jiang Cheng whispers and then turns betrayed eyes on Nie Mingjue when he flicks his forehead.
“Watch your words around our daughter, if she picks up any swearwords, it better be in the streets or during fights or not at all,” Nie Mingjue chastises him and Jiang Cheng can’t help himself, he has to lean up and kiss Nie Mingjue until they are both breathless.
“Mh, yeah, that is a good example to set for her,” Nie Mingjue hums once they part again and Jiang Cheng laughs.
It seems like he worried for nothing at all.
~*~*~
Jiang Xinyi turns out to be the most spoilt princess in the world, but she’s also the fiercest fighter even at three, and Jiang Cheng is very proud to admit that he’s not responsible for the first one.
That is all Nie Mingjue’s doing.
“A-die, no!” Jiang Xinyi says with the single most adorable pout in the world, and Jiang Cheng lowers the hairbrush in defeat.
“Why not, baobei?” he wants to know, though he damn well knows the answer to that.
“Baba do it,” Jiang Xinyi says and then simply takes the brush out of Jiang Cheng’s hand, before she walks over to the door, looking expectantly back at Jiang Cheng.
Maybe Jiang Cheng shouldn’t take commands from a barely three-year old, but he could never say no to her puppy eyes.
It’s possible that it’s also him who’s spoiling her.
“Alright, we’ll go see if your baba has time to do your hair then,” Jiang Cheng says with a sigh and doesn’t at all melt when she beams at him.
She is free to run around Lotus Pier like she pleases, because the disciples adore her to bits and pieces and someone is always keeping an eye on her, but they have found that Jiang Xinyi likes it best if she can hold one of her father’s hands to lead her around, so she simply holds out her own and waits for Jiang Cheng to take it.
He pretends that he needs some time to get up and walk over to her and he has to bite back a smile when she impatiently stomps her foot.
“A-die, no,” she whines and Jiang Cheng sighs.
“Alright, alright,” he huffs out and takes her by the hand to lead her over to the training field.
She knows she’s not allowed past a certain line and it works surprisingly well, especially once they set up a small weapon stand with wooden weapons for her to imitate what the other disciples do.
For now it’s all fun and games, but she’s not half bad at all and Jiang Cheng is very proud to see her find such joy in it. He hopes it carries over to real training as well.
“Baba!” she yells when Nie Mingjue comes into sight, because that is not something they could teach her yet, that Nie Mingjue shouldn’t be disturbed during training, but he never minds when it comes to here.
“My little baobei!” he yells back and Jiang Cheng rolls his eyes. “And my heart,” Nie Mingjue then tacks on as if it’s an afterthought and Jiang Cheng rolls his eyes again, harder this time.
“You’d think you love her more,” he complaints teasingly when Nie Mingjue walks over to them to swoop Jiang Xinyi up in his arms and then he throws her high up in the air, much to her apparent joy.
Once their daughter is safely in his arms again, he leans over to give Jiang Cheng a lingering kiss.
It’s a testament to how often they do this that Jiang Xinyi doesn’t even complain about this, and instead she leans in once they part to smack a kiss to both of their faces.
“What are you doing here, baobei?” Nie Mingjue then asks her and is nearly smacked in the face with the brush for his troubles.
“Ah, a-die can’t do it like baba can, huh?” Nie Mingjue says with a twinkle in his eyes and Jiang Cheng honestly feels affronted that his braiding skills are being questioned here.
He braids perfectly well, thank you very much.
“No. Only baba do it,” Jiang Xinyi declares and Nie Mingjue is always more than ready to do their daughters hair.
“Alright, alright,” he says with a laugh and puts Jiang Xinyi down on her feet again, before he simply sits down on the training field, not caring about getting his robes dirty at all.
Jiang Cheng sighs when Jiang Xinyi follows his example but Nie Mingjue only smiles at him, and he can’t really say anything at all.
Nie Mingjue gets started on brushing Jiang Xinyi’s hair, before he braids it into increasingly difficult braids and Jiang Cheng is very content to simply watch them.
Jiang Xinyi babbles away while her hair is being done and Nie Mingjue encourages her progressively ridiculous tale of what happened to her since she woke up with a patience not many people think him capable of.
But Nie Mingjue indulges their daughter as always and when he declares her done, she jumps to her feet.
“Now train,” she demands and Nie Mingjue gives her an exaggerated frown.
“You train? Or I train? I actually wanted to drink some tea now,” he tells her and that prompts a completely different excited yell out of her.
“A tea party!” Jiang Xinyi screams and comes over to tug on Jiang Cheng’s robes. “A-die, you join us!”
“Of course, baobei,” he says, and strokes a hand lightly over her head, trying his hardest to keep a smile off his face when she slaps his hand away because “He’s messing up.”
Once Jiang Xinyi made sure her braids are not actually ruined and she’s still as pretty as before, she dashes off to get everything for their tea party ready.
It will just be breakfast at this point, but it seems like this is more fun for her and neither Jiang Cheng nor Nie Mingjue will deny her this.
“You have her thoroughly spoilt,” Jiang Cheng says, not for the first time and Nie Mingjue pulls him close with a hand on his hip.
“As if you spoil her any less,” he whispers and then kisses Jiang Cheng a bit more passionately than they normally do with their daughter present. “And we will both continue to spoil her rotten,” Nie Mingjue says when they part and Jiang Cheng can’t even argue that.
She’s their little baobei after all.
(And she grows up to be a fiercly independent woman, who can kick Jiang Cheng’s ass on a good day, especially when she makes use of her sabre and Zidian but she’s also kind and warm to everyone she deems worthy of her love, which are thankfully a lot of people. Nie Mingjue and Jiang Cheng are so very proud of her, but they are proud of all four of their kids.)

Ishraq rushes over to their side, cradling them in his arms. The sight of their injuries alarms him greatly, but they’re here now. That’s all that matters.
“I’m here, sayang, I’m here.” He murmurs as his eyes search their face in worry. He whispers words of comfort as he tends to their wounds. He tells them how worried he’s been, how he wishes they’d have asked him to come along. Perhaps they wouldn’t have gotten injured if he was there. He wouldn’t have allowed it to happen, not on his watch.
But they’re here now. Ishraq’s hands linger on their bandaged skin, longing and tender. That’s all that matters.
Deva
“You sure have your priorities sorted right, my dear. Are you certain you didn’t bump your head too hard?” She jests, but she immediately goes to the Messenger’s side to check on their wounds.
Deva makes all sorts of quips while she tends to them, easing the tension in the air. She doesn’t appear to be distressed, but she is meticulous in her care and frighteningly observant of the Messenger’s every reaction. “Whatever you get yourself roughened up for, it better be worth it.”
Once she’s done, she gives them a light pat on an uninjured spot. She makes them promise to be more careful next time. Then, she winks. “As much as I appreciate you calling for me first thing you come back, I’d much prefer when you call for me during more pleasant occasions.”
Yi-feng
Yi-feng is all over the Messenger as he anxiously looks them over for their injuries. Despite his distressed flitting, his movements are precise as he tends to their wounds. He keeps asking them if they hurt anywhere else, if there’s anything else they need help with.
“Please don’t do this again. I don’t think my heart can’t take more of this.” He mumbles. He looks at them sadly as he reaches to interlace his fingers with theirs. Whether he gets a promise out of them or not, he relishes their touch, relieved to have them by his side again.
Then, allowing himself a moment of intimacy, he brings their hand up to his lips and presses a soft kiss on the back of their hand. Tenderly, like a silent oath to protect them from now on.
Yeshe
Yeshe runs up to the Messenger, face pinched in distress. They chide at them for getting themselves hurt, for going off on their own. But their hands are gentle and warm as they check the Messenger’s injuries and guide them to sit down.
And this goes on the entire time Yeshe nurses their wounds. They mutter how risky it was for them to just wander off on their own, that they were lucky to get away lightly injured. But the annoyance in their tone is half-hearted at best. Their brows crease in worried concentration as they tend to the Messenger’s wounds, determined to make them feel better as soon as possible.
“Next time, if you pull this nonsense again, I won’t come and help you.” They say, even though they both know that is furthest from the truth.

Thanks for the ask! It made my day ^^

Hi! I suppose I'd give this cool little event a try so here goes! (She/her, creepypasta/mh, 19, romantic please!)
So lets see here, I'm a very sarcastic person and I can be kind of rough when meeting someone new at first but I'm a huge goof and I love people with good humor. I'm into all sorts of things like baking, writing, martial arts, I also like to teach myself how to do things like skateboarding and knitting.
One of my most favorite things...oddly enough is music, my main music taste being mainly 90's and 80's rock, but I listen to pretty much white dad music. I'm someone who's very reliable and will tell you how it is whether that be accidentally or on purpose. Last few things, my love language is acts of service and I love compliments, I tend to clam up a little though when it comes to being affectionate so someone who is understanding would be nice!
The things I have to offer may not seem much to you, but I value them a lot. I can offer a Morse code bracelet I wear everyday, one of my most favorite band t-shirts, a stuffed animal that I've kept around for ages and lastly a moon cake!
(Thank you so much in advance and do make sure to drink some water, take plenty of breaks and have fun!!)
[Disclaimer: The Red String of Fate event is a special event I'm running from August 12th, to whenever I feel it necessary to end - right now, I'm giving it to the first week of September! Check out rules HERE]
Yue Lao has a moon cake every Mid Autumn festival when Chang'e and her beloved Hou Yi are able to reunite for just one day out of the year under the Laurel tree in the beautiful gardens of the Moon Palace. He feels as if he channels their love as he offers the moon cake to the couple, asking for their blessing with this match. With your other offerings, he places them carefully around his home, placing your favorite band t-shirts on his walls and uses your stuffed animal as a new friend for his cat.
He recognizes that balance should be a key factor in the relationship you seek. He knows that you deserve someone who is on your level and can understand you without stifling you. Someone who can keep you in check, someone who understand you. His moonlight glossed over eyes check every potential suitor before finally laying their sights on a person that isn't really a person. His name is Ben, a young college aged man who was possessed by a demon and well... While the affairs of demons are not Yue Lao's right, he ties the string to the man's pinky anyways.
He attaches the string back to you and then sends a few signs your way, his voice is soft and calming as he whispers in your dreams, his touch gentle when he takes your hand and leads you to the man you're destined for. He watches as you follow the string, pleased that you trust him so openly. His cat purrs sweetly as she watches you dart through alleyways and into the woods where zones safe for proxies and independents alike begin to reveal themself to you.
You don't even realize how the day shifts to night as you follow the red thread. It feels soft and plush, like it was plucked from the clouds themselves as you carefully hold it as your guide. You wonder just who waits you on the other side. The beings in this area aren't human, but they don't seem to mind you either. Some of them, with a more developed sense of sight than you, can see you're here on your own personal business, and choose not to interfere as they don't know who's on the other side of it.
You follow the thread until you reach a bar, just beginning to fill with people. Looks like only the regulars are present right now. You begin to search before coming upon a mess of blond hair with his back facing you. There's some odd clown to the left, a man with a blue mask to the right and a woman with slightly burnt skin across from him. Her black lips turn upwards into a smile as she sees you. She nods her head to the blond haired man.
BEN pauses, his dark eyes looking down towards his hand before he swiftly turns around. The side of the thread connecting to his pinky glows brilliantly alongside the blush on his cheeks.
