You knew she had it pretty shitty growing, ‘pretty shitty’ didn’t even begin to describe her entire childhood.
She had the worst of the worst. Her entire life was a lie, the only normal days of her life were completely bullshit. So you completely understood her trust issues, her need to cut you off and distance herself from you. You understood why she did everything she could to push you away, but still you refuse to leave her side.
Yelena had a hard time admitting it aloud, but she needed you as much as her lungs needed oxygen, as much as a fish needs water, as much as a plant needs sunlight. But she was scared, scared of herself, of you, of her feelings. Everything was new to her, she needed time to adjust, to understand, to learn. But another part of her, the girl trapped in the red room, didn’t want any of it. That girl believed that it was better to be alone in this big cold world than have someone by her side, someone who would ultimately turn their back on her. And it would all be a big fat lie all over again.
Your mind trailed back to the very first argument the two of you had had. You couldn’t remember exactly what the point of it was, long forgotten in your memory. But what stuck with you was her choice of words.
[…]
“Oh, my god! Just leave! Leave like the rest of them,” she yelled at you, tears stung her eyes.
And at that moment everything became crystal clear, she wanted that fight. She had been looking for a way for you to leave her easily, a way out for you that would cause you no harm, all while she had to bare it for herself. That was how she wanted it, she preferred to hurt alone than have someone by her side who would ultimately shatter her to pieces.
You stood there for a second, raised your head tall and found her eyes.
“I’m not leaving,” slowly you moved closer to her, your hand reaching out for hers. “You hear me? I am not leaving,” you repeated, carefully saying every word so she would understand. “I am not going anywhere, okay? I’m right here.”
Her eyes were fixed on you, tears already rolling down her cheeks, and then she crumbled into your arms. You held her tight against your chest, caressing her hair, whispering sweet nothings.
[…]
You felt warm spreading through your chest at the memory, snuggling your head into the crook of her neck, seeking for her warmth. You closed your eyes as another memory came to your mind.
[…]
“I just… I don't think this is going to work out,” she said, her russian accent got thicker as she spoke slowly.
“What? The movie?” you chuckled, clueless as to what she was referring to.
“Us, Y/n. I don’t think we are going to work out,” this time she had the courage to look at you.
“And why is that?” you knew why she was saying it, but sometimes you knew she needed to express her feelings so you could say the words she needed to hear.
“You know why. I carry a lot of shit, and it’s not fair for you or me to be in this situation. I believe it would be better if we just—.”
You cut her off, not waiting to hear anymore. “Would you like that? Would you like for me to leave right now? Just say the world and I will,” you said, not angry, not hurt, more like you stated.
“I… I mean…,” she didn’t find the words because she didn’t want you to leave, but she couldn't admit it aloud.
“You know what, Yel, you try to push me out. But I just find my way back in,” you cupped her cheeks and she closed her eyes, finding comfort in your touch. “Everytime you find reasons for me to walk away, I just find more reasons to stay,” a tear rolled down her cheek which you gently wiped away with your thumb. “I already told you, Yelena. But I will keep on repeating it as many times as you need to hear it: I am not going anywhere. You are stuck with me, okay? You are not getting rid of me that easily,” you joked in hopes that she would find the last part funny.
She did, she giggled as her eyes shot open to find yours already looking at hers. She pecked your lips once, then twice, as if making sure you were real. And once you didn’t evaporate in front of her eyes, she properly kissed you, rough cold lips against soft warm lips.
[…]
You smiled at the memory, as another one popped in your brain.
[…]
“You know this is new to me right?” she whispered, not sure if you were already sleeping or wide awake.
“What? Cuddling?” you joked, turning around to face her.
“Ha, ha, very funny. Not that, this,” she gestured around with her hands, but she wasn’t referring to the place.
“I know… I know,” you whispered, trailing the features of her face with your fingertips.
“Like…,” she struggled to find the right words. “Like if you hold me without hurting me, you’ll be the first who ever did.”
Your heart sank at her words. How can someone so perfect as her, so worthy, so full of life be as broken as her. She didn’t deserve this, any of it. If you could just give her, the sky, the stars, the sun, the moon and the entire universe, you would. She deserved that and more. But you couldn’t, so you had to settle to love her in every way you possibly could.
“I’m deeply sorry, my love. I truly am. But I’m here now, okay?” you leaned into her. “I’m here and I will always be. You won’t ever have to be alone again.”
“Hold me, love me, touch me, honey,” she embraced you tightly. “Be the first who ever did,” she kissed the top of your head, letting sleep take over her.
[…]
A tear rolled down your cheek at the memory, which Yelena noticed as the drop landed on her shirt.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” her soft raspy voice reached your ears.
“Oh, nothing,” you sat on the bed, quickly wiping away your single tear. “I was just thinking,” you chuckled.
“What were you thinking about?” she smiled at you, but you could sense some worry in her tone.
“I was just thinking how lucky I am to be here with you,” you sniffled, looking at her with loving eyes. “Hey do you wanna go out? I want to take you out on a date,” a smile formed on your face.
“What for?” she chuckled, cupping your cheek.
“Can’t I just take my lovely girlfriend out on a date?” you couldn't hold back the smile on your face. “Come on, get your sexy ass off of the bed, I’m taking you out.”
“Okay, okay, I’m going,” she said, unable to hold back her smile as well.

main masterlist || yelena belova || requests
a/n: welcome to the first part of my first series! like i said in my announcement, i’m not sure how many parts this series will have, but as i see it now, definitely over 6 so get excited about that!! this first part is definitely a build up to everything will be contained going further, so there’s not much adventuring in this one. i hope you enjoy!
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ pairing: yelena belova x reader
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ warnings: language
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ description: you’re granted the opportunity to join the avengers on your first top secret mission together. not only are you navigating your newfound status as an avenger, but you’re also trying to hide your affection for another avenger, yelena. you travel to your location in stealth and soon find out what kind of mess you’ve really gotten into.
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ word count: 3.2k
Your eyes jolted open when you realized you had fallen asleep accidentally.
“…and we need to act fast in order to make sure we do our part in this mess. And remember, none of you jackasses better make a peep about this, I mean it.”
Shit.
You had fallen asleep during the majority of Tony’s mission announcement. This was the first stakeout call that you had been invited on since you had been recruited. Most jobs were simple and thorough—fighting and taking down a villain and so on. Everything was usually the same, except this time and you missed it.
“Alright, that’s all I got. Be ready and down to the pad in an hour.” Tony dismissed everyone from the room when they all dispersed and you were left disoriented from the meeting.
“AH, I’m so excited!” you heard Kamala squeal. You assumed she had been asked out on the mission as well, making this her first too. “I’ve never seen a horse in person before!”
Now you were even more confused as to what was happening. You decided to be surprised rather than ask too many questions, especially since you were new. You couldn’t be caught slacking on the job already.
You went up to your room to pack whatever you could with the little information you had. You remembered something being said in between your slumber about it being dry and hot, so you kept that in mind.
You packed all the toiletries you had since you did not know when you would return. You didn’t have a permanent suit currently, as it was still being worked on and you didn’t know when it was going to be done. You hoped you could finally break into it on this trip so you wouldn’t have to use one of the hand-me-downs.
You jumped as you heard a knock at your door. “Can I come in?” Kate shouted through the door. Even before you could speak Kate had opened the door and was on a mission.
“Do you have deodorant or a hairbrush? I-I must have lost mine or run out because I don’t know where they went.”
Kate was the first friend you had made since you had been recruited. You both hit it off immediately and she made the transition from normal life to super life much easier.
“How does one not know when they run out of deodorant?” you chuckled.
“I honestly don’t know. I think I kinda just slap it on without looking while I’m halfway out the door,” she stammered.
“Well in that case, yes, I have both deodorant and a hairbrush so you lucked out today.”
“Ugh, thank you, you’re a lifesaver,” Kate sighed. “Oh, by the way! If you’re all good with it I think Kamala was going to bunk with me and it’s three to a room so you wanna join?”
“Uhm, that sounds good,” you responded. You were nervous to be in such close proximity to so many new people, but you were excited to be involved in something this secretive.
“Awesome! Well, I’ll see you down there then.” Kate smiled and then ran out of the room in the same manner she came. It was then you realized you missed your chance to ask her what exactly you all were doing and what you should bring. It added even more mystery.
You had filled your duffel bag to the brim with anything you could think of—a couple books, clothes for all weather conditions, a swimsuit, a coat, etc. You had said goodbye to your room for the time being when you ran into another Avenger in the hallway.
“Oh, uhm hey.” You were face to face with a green-eyed woman looking slightly up at you. “I’m sorry, I wasn’t watching where I was going.”
“It’s good,” the woman smiled and shrugged. She walked off without saying a word and you felt an uncomfortable aura blooming.
The butterflies in your stomach slowed their flutter the farther away the woman went. You had learned in your first few days as an Avenger that her name was Yelena. She had short blonde hair and the most captivating eyes you had ever seen. She was nothing short of intimidating so you had exchanged little words between the two of you. This was most inconvenient for you because you were tired of her staring at you as if you were a bit helpless.
You hoped this trip proved otherwise.
You were still awkwardly standing in the hallway after your encounter with Yelena when Kamala came out of her room with what looked like all her belongings balances in her arms. You could make out her eyes peeking between different objects that looked like a fan and a small table.
“I hope I packed enough,” she said through muffled words. “I don’t know how long we’ll be gone.”
“I don’t think you’ll have any problem with that,” you laughed. You watched her carefully walk down the stairs with the rest of her things.
Based on everyone’s timely exit, you assumed that you should probably make your way down to load up. When you made your way down to the pad where everyone else was waiting. Everyone’s packs varied in size so you had no idea how your packing job compared to anyone else’s.
Wanda and Nat had a decent sized suitcase for the both of them to share and others had small duffel bags. You giggled a little to yourself when you saw Peter’s only bag which appeared to be his school bag.
“How did you manage to fit everything in there, Pete?” you asked him.
“Oh uhm all I really need is a few clothes, but the rest is homework.”
“You’re bringing homework on an Avenger’s top secret mission?”
“Uh… yes?”
“That sounds like a sad life, Peter Parker.” You looked to your right where Yelena was standing. “Do you do anything for your own pleasure… like ever?”
You, Yelena, and Peter all stood together staring at one another, waiting for someone to say anything.
“Alright!” Tony yelled. “It’s time to load up.”
Everyone made their way onto their biggest quinjet they had and found their seats. You sat towards the back of the jet as you filed in behind Yelena. Conveniently, you sat directly behind her so you had the perfect view for the duration of the flight. Kamala sat down next to you with her stuffed giraffe in hand.
You heard the echo of the seat buckles clanking together as everyone took their place. You then watched as Yelena twisted her hair up high and put it in a bun. You were mesmerized by the way her blonde highlights caught the glimmer of light shining through the small windows.
Kate looked back at you at the wrong moment because she caught you staring at Yelena. She smirked and winked, signaling that she planned on keeping your secret. Your face was flush with embarrassment. You had not planned to let anyone in on your little crush but there was no going back now. All you had to do was prevent Yelena from finding out.
Tony hopped on last and shut the large door behind him. “As much as I wish I was joining you on this part of the excursion, I’m going to be residing on a small base right outside of the airport we’ll be flying into. I’m working on tracking air transportation as well as focusing on the technical aspects of the issue. I will be checking in regularly.
“As much as I would love to fly everywhere, we have to be more careful.” You looked around at the others to see if they had any clue to what he was talking about. “Once we arrive at the airport, you’ll be assigned vehicles that you must transport in. Using jets gets too risky with the high volume of dust and dirt. You would be noticed too easily that way, so it’s much easier to fit in with the rest of the crowd. Another form of transformation will be provided… promptly.”
Tony sat down in the controller seat without another word, leaving only you at a loss of what could be coming.
You stared at the back of Yelena once again before falling asleep to the sound of her voice and buttons pushing from inside the jet
.
.
.
You jolted awake at the sound of the large compartment door opening. It was abnormally bright and dust seemed to be swarming into the jet. You looked to your right to see Kamala passed out as well.
You stood up to stretch and grab your things, but you were distracted by the look on Yelena’s face as she stared at Kamala. She then turned to you and you were not sure what to do. Yelena looked as if she was trying not to laugh.
“You’ve got something about there…” Yelena gestured around the side of your mouth where you found dried drool from your peaceful sleep.
You frantically wiped it off the best you could and tried to shake the feeling of embarrassment that washed over you. “Oh, I’m sorry, thank you,” you nervously responded.
You proceeded to wipe everything off your face shamefully. You gave Kamala a small tap on the side of her arms in hopes to wake her up. She jolted awake as if she had been screamed at.
“What happened?” she said, groggily.
“You fell asleep…and it looks like we’re here,” you responded. You gathered your things and joined everyone at the front of the quinjet.
“Listen up!” Tony yelled. “This is where I leave you. You’ll be self-escorted from here to the designated vehicles that are waiting outside. I have implemented state of the art trackers and GPS in each of the vehicles. Try to use these vehicles as much as possible. When the time comes, by all means, do whatever is necessary to complete said task, but please, for the love of God, stay hidden. We do not need to be compromised and if I hear about any of you messing around…I will personally handle the situation, and you don’t want that.”
You looked back and forth from Kate to Kamala. You could tell Tony was being serious, which meant this mission was a whole lot harder than you led on in your mind.
As you all unloaded off of the jet the sun pierced through the door making you cover your eyes. Once your eyes adjusted to the brightness, you were met with the vast ground of red clay and trees in the distance. There was not a house or town in sight meaning you were far away from civilization.
“This is my worst nightmare,” Yelena whispered to Natasha.
“No kidding. I can already feel my skin sweltering,” she responded.
Your face recoiled when you saw the rides that were provided to each of you. “They’re joking right?”
“I wish,” Bucky said as he walked by you.
“Ain’t she a beaut, Cap?” Sam said while rubbing his hand back and forth down the side of the truck.
Before you were four rusty, beat-up pickup trucks that were supposed to be your rides for the time being. You weren’t even sure how long they were going to last. They were most definitely older than you.
“Are we sure these are safe to drive…or ride in?” Yelena questioned.
“They’re top of the line, I assure you,” Steve said.
“Maybe when you were born,” she mumbled.
You laughed at her comment and Yelena turned around to look at you and she smirked. Your face couldn’t help but turn a deep shade of pink, but you hoped the heat would disguise your blushing.
“Alright, let’s hit the road. We’re burning daylight here and it’s a two hour drive,” Steve informed everyone which earned a groan from each of them.
Steve, Sam, Bucky, Clint, and Peter took one of the trucks and planned on leading the way to the house. The rest of you assumed you could fit in one truck but there were two left and needed to utilize them both. One truck could seat five and the other could seat three; there were six of you left and you each knew you couldn’t leave someone behind by themselves.
“Race ya!” Kamala yelled. Nat, Wanda, Kate, and Kamala began to run to the five seater truck, while you and Yelena stayed behind. I guess you both assumed that it wasn’t worth fighting over.
You were hesitant to say anything at first but you were curious. “Why didn’t you go with them?”
Yelena shrugged. “My sister and Wanda can get gross when they’re together so I would rather be 100 feet away. But I hope you know I’m driving.”
You nodded in agreement, not wanting to go against her wishes. How could you say no?
You and Yelena put your belongings in the trunk of the car and shut it nice and tight so there was no way it could fly out and escape. Yelena climbed in the driver's seat while you sat next to her in the passenger's seat. The truck started with a sputter and music started blasting through the radio. Tony Keith’s voice rang out, causing you to plug your eyes.
“If this is what the trip has in store,” you gestured to the nature outside and then to the radio, “it’s going to be a long trip.”
“I think my ears are bleeding,” Yelena groaned.
“How about I do this.” You made the executive decision to turn the music completely off. “Better?”
“Much.” Yelena was satisfied with your choice. She followed the kicked up dust trail that led to the truck in front of them. They were farther ahead but you both hoped you hadn’t lost them.
In the meantime, you decided to look around the truck to see what all treasures were held inside. Just by looking at it, it didn’t seem to be anything special. The dash was covered in dirt and dust and old, empty bullet shells rested on top. There were no cup holders for drinks, only a bench seat that could fit another person. You found yourself wondering what would happen if you scooted just a bit closer. You brushed off the thought and continued your scavenger hunt.
There was no backseat, only a small gap that could fit a slender bag. There was a tacklebox that slipped under your seat, so you decided to dig through it. You gasped as you opened it to reveal a pistol made out of vibranium. You could spot it from anywhere.
“Woah!” you admired it. You shifted the small pistol in your hand, observing the craftsmanship.
“Oh shit,” Yelena said. Her eyebrows were raised, telling you she was just as impressed.
“They really did the most.” You took another look at it before you put it back where it belonged and slid it back under the seat. “What we’re to happen if we were stopped somehow and we had that in the car? Wouldn’t they do the math?”
“Look at this thing,” Yelena said plainly.
You looked around at the crusted steering wheel, the patchy seats, and the dirty covered floor. “I suppose you’re right.”
Yelena sighed and continued driving.
You watched the world go by as the clay mesa crowded your vision. It was beautiful in its own way and it was nothing like you had ever seen. The plateau of rock and the arches that presented themselves high off the ground. You may even learn to love it.
You then turned your attention to the driver. Yelena did not go anywhere in public without dressing her best. She was wearing wide cut jeans, a cropped shirt, and high leather boots. The dedication impressed you, especially in this weather. Your eyes wandered from her clothes to her skin and how her olive tone was tanned from the sun. Her eyes twinkled with the reflection of the endless blue sky and you found yourself drowning. Of course until Yelena looked over at you because you had been in a daze for too long.
You turned your attention back out the window with the hope that she wasn’t paying attention to your admiration. The more you stared out the window, the heavier your eyelids were. Eventually, you found yourself drifting to sleep once again with dreams of twinkling green eyes.
.
.
.
You felt a push on your left shoulder but you didn’t move.
There was another push this time, but much harder, causing you to sit all the way up. To your surprise, it was night. You rubbed your eyes and looked to your left to find that Yelena was staring at you.
“Did you know that you snore?” she said outright. Yelena unbuckled and got out of the truck, leaving you stunned all alone. You decided that it would be better not to respond because you wish you could forget it ever happened.
As you slid out of the truck, you looked up at the stars. You had never seen the sky so clear in your life. It was like lightning bugs had hung themselves way up high for everyone to see. You were so distracted by the sky that you didn’t notice where you were.
When you snapped yourself out of your trance you looked around. You were now surrounded by some species of pine tree you couldn’t recall with scarce grass. You were most certainly still in the desert but had traveled farther in the new direction.
In addition, you seemed to be up on a cliff. You looked around once more and there was no sign of a house, let alone anyone else.
“Uh, Yelena,” you questioned. “Where are we?”
Yelena was crouched down ahead of you looking down from the earth when she shushed you. You tried not to take too much offense. You walked to where she was in hopes of figuring out what was going on.
“Yelena, I said, where are-” Yelena covered your mouth quickly. You wanted to resist but all you could do was yell silently into the palm of her hand.
“Be quiet,” Yelena whispered, then held up a finger to her lips as she uncovered her hand from your mouth.
You huffed. “I just want to know what we’re doing out here? Where is everyone?”
“I took a little detour,” she admitted. “I just wanted to scope out the competition and Tony had already wired the GPS with significant locations so I knew where to go.”
“He should’ve known better,” you shook your head. You were already in this mess with her so you might as well finish it.
You focused your eyes to where she was looking to find a small sized building. It was nothing like you pictured it would be in your head. There was a flagpole outside the fence gates with an American flag on it accompanied by another flag that you could not make out. You squinted harder to see what picture was made out on the fabric.
“Is that…” You could spot the unique design of a skull with its six arms recoiled under.
It was Hydra.

Hoodie | Yelena Belova
Pairing: Yelena Belova x Reader (College AU)
Summary: To Natasha you are Yelena's roommate and best friend, to Yelena, you are so much more than that. Yelena isn't out to her family yet, what will happen when Natasha visits?
Masterlist | Marvel masterlist | Words: 970
You had met Yelena through a roommate ad a few weeks before college had started. She had her roommate cancel on her at the last minute, most students had already found housing, so she didn't think her chances of finding a new roommate would be high. However, when you saw the ad you were thrilled to have found an open stop somewhere near campus. Since you went to a different state for college you didn't know anywhere here to room with, so you had settled for sharing a dorm room with a stranger. Of course, Yelena was also a stranger but your beds were in different rooms.
It was a little awkward at first since you barely had any time to get to know each other before moving in together, but as the weeks went by you got closer and closer. You went from strangers, to friends, and then best friends in a matter of months.
It wasn't long until you realized that you liked her as more than a friend, though at first you kept this to yourself. You didn't want to ruin what you had by sharing your feelings that might not be reciprocated. After about a month of hiding your crush on her, your eyes lingered a little too long on toned stomach when she discarded her sweater on movie night. She commented on it when she realized, "Like what you see?" You remember it like it was yesterday. With flushed cheeks you had tried to stumble your way out of it, but to no avail. All the while Yelena was just smiling at you, your reaction to her comment had only confirmed that you had feelings for her as well. So, she bluntly asked if she could kiss you.
Ever since that day you have been together. You still had your own rooms, but your nights were always spent together. Still having your own rooms turned out to be a great decision, when Yelena’s older sister Natasha was visiting. Yelena wasn’t out to her family, so they didn’t know about your relationship yet. She felt bad for asking you to hide your relationship until she had told them but you told her that it was not a problem and that coming out was a process that she could do at her own pace.
While you’re out you receive another update message from Yelena, “Hi baby, Nat wanted a lazy morning, so I let her sleep in a bit. I have to drop off some papers at school, I’ll be back in around an hour.” You pocket your phone after letting her know you’re about to head back. When you walk into the apartment, Natasha is having breakfast at the kitchen counter. You put your bags down and greet her, when you notice something familiar. "Hey, not that I mind, but why are you wearing my hoodie?" Natasha looks down at the hoodie confused, “I thought it was Yelena’s.” You chuckle, “Nope, it’s really mine. You’re good though, I don’t mind.” Natasha shrugs and continues her breakfast, though her mind is turning. “I guess you guys had a switch up during laundry or something, I got it from her room.” She was focussed on your face for any reaction to her comment. You thought you hid it well, but she read the nervousness on your face. Natasha decided not to say anything though.
Natasha would arrive on friday and stay throughout the weekend. You were in your last class of the day when Yelena texted that she had arrived. Once your class was done, you went back to your apartment. You were nervous to meet your girlfriend's sister, even when she didn’t know you were dating her sister, you still wanted to make a good impression on her. When you arrived, Yelena had given Natasha a tour of the apartment, and offered up her room. You spend the evening getting to know Natasha, and learning more about Yelena’s childhood.
The next morning you had a quick errand to run. You tiptoed around the living room when you noticed that Yelena was still sound asleep on the couch. She looked so peaceful. You took a quick look toward her bedroom door and saw that it was still closed, which meant that Natasha was still asleep as well. You plant a soft kiss on Yelena’s forehead before slipping out of the door.
Yelena walked in and eyed the hoodie Natasha was wearing immediately, when Natasha went to greet her sister she saw the slight panic on her face as well. Natasha starts smiling, “I knew it!” Yelena hesitantly asks, “Know what?” Natasha stands and walks up to her sister, “My little sestra is dating her roommate!” She brings her in for a hug without letting Yelena say anything in response. “I am so happy for you, Yelena.” Yelena steps away from the hug stunned, “You knew?”
“Well, I wasn’t 100% sure until I got here, but I had a feeling for a while. You’ve never talked so fondly about a person in your life, sestra. It was obvious that something was going on. Seeing the way the two of you interact with each other just confirmed my suspicions.” Yelena takes a deep breath out, releasing all the tension. “Do you think mom and dad know?” Natasha thinks for a moment. “Well, mom always knows everything, so she probably has her suspicions too. Dad on the other hand, he can be quite oblivious to these kinds of things.” Natasha noticed her sister getting worried again. “They’d love y/n, though.”
Yelena was super relieved once her sister knew, and she was happy that she didn’t have to hide her relationship for the rest of Nat’s stay. That night you held her while she fell asleep in your bed.

This Thing Called A Date
Yelena Belova x gn!reader
WC: 606
CW: idiots in love; fluff; first date nerves
Summary: You take Yelena on her first ever date.
Day 29 of mk’s mad dash
You really hope that your date with Yelena goes more smoothly than asking her out had.
“You look like you want to say something,” the blonde declares rather bluntly.
“Well, I uhm. There’s this thing,” you scratch your neck anxiously, “this thing called a date and-“
“I know what a date is,” Yelena interrupted matter-of-factly.
Heat rises to your cheeks, “oh right, well, I just didn’t know if you knew about them because of the red room and…”
You trail off at Yelena’s amused face and let out a nervous chuckle.
“Sorry, I’m rambling. I just, well I wanted to know if you wanted to go on a date?”
Now, you fidget anxiously in front of Yelena’s door, working up the courage to knock. And you should be able to. You’re an Avenger for goodness sake.
But before you get the chance, the door opens.
“You’ve been standing here for five minutes. Why didn’t you knock?” Yelena asks.
“How- I.”
She smirks at you and shakes her head, “so silly.”
You just stare at her, your mouth opening and closing silently like a fish.
“So are we going somewhere or…”
“Right, right, sorry!” You shake yourself out of your stupor, “let’s go.”
After countless hours of thinking about where to take Yelena, you’d finally settled on the park near the Avengers Tower. It felt like the most neutral place to go- no risk of spilling food on yourself, no embarrassing yourself at mini golf or bowling, and no chance of paying for a movie that would end up being the worst one known to mankind.
Besides the few dog-walkers, kids playing, and old folks chatting, the park is peaceful and perfectly intimate.
“So are you, like, taking me for a walk? Like a dog?” Yelena asks casually as she walks beside you.
“I- no- uhm- we can go somewhere else if-“
The blonde busts out laughing, “I’m joking, I’m joking! Why so serious?!”
You stop in your tracks and huff, “because, Yelena. I like you, a lot. This feels pretty serious to me.”
The grin on her face falters and is replaced by her ever-so familiar frown.
“I’m sorry. I’m not being very nice. I’m just,” she sighs and scuffs her heel on the concrete, “I’m really nervous. And when I’m nervous, I rely on jokes.”
“You’re nervous too?”
Her eyes don’t meet yours, instead focusing on the ground, “yeah, of course I am. You’re you, and I’ve never been on a date before and….”
Tentatively, you reach out and grab her hands. She looks up, surprised by your touch.
“Why don’t we both agree to just stop being freaks and just talk. I mean it’s you and me. We’re great together, okay?” you insist.
The blonde starts to smile again and your heart flutters happily in your chest.
“Okay, silly.”
A small giggle escapes your lips and she chuckles too.
“Okay.”
And as Yelena looks at you like that- so sweetly and sincerely, you can’t fight the urge to kiss her. You grab onto the loops of one of her favorite vests and pull her towards you, kissing her intensely.
When you pull away she sighs, “that was nice. I liked that very much.”
“And I like this vest,” you teased, “it’s very handy.”
“That’s what I’ve been telling everyone,” she exclaims, “the vest has so many uses, it can hold things, you can clip stuff-“
And as much as you love to hear her ramble on and on, she’s just too cute for you to handle. You pull her back in and kiss her again, her words getting muffled by your mouth on hers.

Flufftober day 9
@flufftober
Prompt: "Don't do that!" / "But..."
Pairing: Yelena Belova x gn!reader
Warnings/Tags: FLUFF, Yelena being annoying (but we love her), confessions, kisses
Summary: You decide tonight's the night you're going to make your move. But Yelena beats you to it.
Word count: 1k
I hope you enjoy! Likes, comments and reblogs are appreciated 💜
Prev | Next | Masterlist
Yelena was too close to you. You could feel her incessant blowing on the nape of your neck as you lined up your rifle, trying to distract you.
"Don't do that." You hiss at her, trying to line up the shot.
"But..." She pouts, throwing you a perfectly adorable puppy dog look. "I like to annoy you."
"No," You correct her with a huff, taking aim. "You like to win."
There's three short pops, and three mechanical ducks disappear from view. Blaring music sounds alongside flashing lights and you squint your eyes. The sound of a deep, dramatic narrator yelling "Winner!" cuts through the music and you shrug at Yelena nonchalantly, who's giving you a stormy look with her arms crossed.
"Pick your damn teddy bear." You say smirking over at her. It's now her turn to huff with faux-annoyance as she scans the prizes. The problem with two assassin's going to the fairground is that everything at the fairground is a competition. Yelena had won you a teddy bear and bet you couldn't win one for her. Now that you'd proved her wrong, very smugly you might add, she picked the the teddy that had matched yours; both of you now proud owners of a matching teddy bear pair.
You smile at her choice, heart fluttering. She always had that playful demeanour about her but it was infinitely better when she wasn't using it to wind up villains or you during training. It was nice seeing her in a happier, more relaxed setting.
You take your bear and press its nose against the nose of her bear, your smile twisting into a teasing smirk.
"Look, Lena, they're kissing," You make gaudy, theatrical kissing noises and she laughs brightly, nudging your shoulder with hers. Her laugh makes you grin wider, your heart beating rapidly with her proximity. You're not really paying attention to what she's saying when she points in the direction of yet another fairground game that you will both excel at; but one you'd let her win just to see that smug smirk of pride on her face that you love so much.
Her perfume mingles with the sickly sweet scent of popcorn and cotton candy as she takes your hand and drags you towards a hook-a-duck. The world slows. The music and laughter of the fair sounds like it's beating it's way through cotton wool - the only thing you can hear is your heartbeat in your ears drumming to a beat that you can barely keep up with. She tosses her head around to beam at you excitedly, her hair swishing behind her and you melt all over again.
Tonight, you reminded yourself. Tonight I have to tell her.
Minutes turn to hours and the fairground is closing.
You still haven't confessed - yet. Too caught up in the sweet moments and falling on your ass in the fun house. Now, you had no choice. Coincidentally, Yelena wanted her last ride to be the Ferris wheel and you thanked the stars above you she had. It was a lot more romantic than asking her to be your girlfriend at the hook-a-duck stand. Or the Haunted House. Or the Hall of Mirrors... and the bumper cars.
You gripped at the bar nervously, palms so sweaty you thought you'd slip out of the car.
"Oh ho ho," Yelena teased, settling besides you, holding her bear tightly in her lap like you had. "No need to be scared."
She pats your hand with hers and leaves it there, entirely mistaking your nerves for a fear of heights. Unknowingly making you fluster more at her affectionate reassurance.
The climb to the top of the Ferris Wheel is agonisingly slow. Yelena points at the crowds beneath you, babbling at all of the different things she's noticing like Eye-Spy on steriods. You manage to shakily ask what her favourite part of the night was, assuming it would be when you fell over on the Funhouse and she'd laughed so hard she joined you on the floor. But you were surprised by her answer.
"It hasn't happened yet," She responds with a soft smile. Her eyes glimmer in the moonlight but you can't quite read her expression. The movement of the wheel draws to an uncomfortably unsteady halt and there's silence between you for a few moments.
You're both staring at eachother and you both go to speak at once.
"You go first."
"No, you."
Another beat of silence. You open your mouth to speak but Yelena sighs dramatically.
"Fine." Her cheeks are tinged pink and she can't quite look you in the eyes. " Would you... like..."
She clears her throat and you're gripping the safety bar like a vice.
"Would you like to officially be my... partner." She rushes out, rubbing her nose anxiously. She's still not looking at you, which may be for the best, because you're gaping at her.
She beat you. She beat you to a confession.
"Partner like on missions or-" You raise an eyebrow, trying to quell the breathlessness in your lungs. You don't want to get your hopes up. Yelena looks at you like you're insane.
"No like dating." She huffs, then her eyes widen in horror. "Oh. Did I misread -"
"No you haven't!" You practically yell at her, face flushing. This was going terribly. "I just wanted to make sure. You, erm, beat me to it. I was going to ask you the same thing."
Yelena sighs with relief. "Oh, thank God. That would have been awkward."
You chuckle and smile so hard at her your face hurts. "You said officially... did you think we were already dating?"
Yelena looks sheepish, but smiles over at you. "We...weren't?"
You shake your head in disbelief, leaning over slightly to give her a gentle peck on the lips. "You are something else, Lena."
She flushes, her body relaxing as she leans her head onto your shoulder, overlooking the fairground. "I know."
By the time you're both exiting the Ferris Wheel car, you're holding hands; making sure your teddies are doing the same too.

it's just not my year
a/n: hi guys! going back to my roots ig lol, after seeing a bunch of stuff from comic con and D23, i really wanted to write a yelena fic! this isn't in my bestie!yelena universe as natasha is canonically dead in this fic but i just love writing this dynamic so please enjoy! word count: 1.1k warning(s): implied depression; mentions of feeling empty; broken friendship; a shorter fic; pairing(s): platonic!yelena x reader; bestie!yelena x reader; ex-friend!yelena x reader; ex-avenger!reader
The apartment was dark and cold as you opened the door, shivering as you mentally reminded yourself to pay the heating bill. Going through your routine was easy enough, however, you couldn't help but notice the presence sitting on your couch. Hanging up your bag, taking off your shoes, you went through the motions before walking into the living area to turn on the lights. Your arms crossed as you stared at your ex-best friend. She didn't look at you, her arms leaning on her legs, head bent forward like she was praying to a god you knew she didn't believe in.
"I don't know what I'm doing."
She was the first one to break the silence, her voice hoarse and cracked as she fiddled with her hands, hesitantly looking up at you. At the look in her eye, all former grievances melted in your mind and you sighed. You took a seat next to her on the couch, allowing space between the two of you.
"I think right now this is considered breaking and entering." You joked, desperate to get rid of the tense atmosphere. Yelena's lips quirked up in a small smile as she turned her body to face you, crossing her legs under her.
"Not if I still have a key." She joked back half-heartedly. Her smile fell quickly, going back to focusing on picking at her nail beds. Instinctively, you reached forward, taking Yelena's hands in yours, holding each one seperately. She looked at you, finally making eye contact and you took in the differences of your former friend. Her hair was shorter, brighter, and choppy, like she cut and died it herself. The bags under her eyes were dark and deep, indictaing she hadn't been sleeping well, if at all. She looked exhausted, physically, emotionally, and mentally. All you wanted to do was pull her into a hug and let her cry into your shoulder. From the way she was subconsciously leaning towards you, she also craved that comfort. However, the cut of the end of your friendship still bled. Your grip on Yelena's hands loosened but she didn't pull away, you couldn't bring yourself to either.
"I'm sorry, Y/N, for how I acted, for what I said." Yelena spoke in a hurry, her words rushed, as if they forced themself of their own voilition out of her mouth. You blinked, shocked. While you were hurt, you never once truly blamed Yelena for what happened. She had been blipped away for five years and when she returned, her sister was dead. You were the one to tell her, you remember how her face froze then fell, how her tears fell from cold eyes. It all spiraled after that, Yelena grasping at straws, desperate for someone to blame. First it was Clint Barton, believing he just allowed Nat to jump. Then it was you, blaming you for not being the one with Clint on Vormir, despite the fact you hadn't even been on that mission. That accusation hurt the most, delievering the final blow to the strained strands of friendship still connecting the two of you.
You shook your head, squeezing Yelena's hands once before you stood up, going into your small kitchen, making yourself a cup of tea and one for Yelena.
"It's okay, Len," you heard a small gasp from Yelena at the nickname, almost relieved you would still call her anything other than her name, "I don't think it would be appropriate for me to be angry, you lost your sister, you were entitled to your pain and emotions."
As you stirred the tea, you hadn't realized that Yelena came to stand next to you in the kitchen, her voice making you jump slightly, spilling hot water you couldn't feel onto your hand.
"So wer- so are you. I hurt you, I pushed you away. And now I'm selfishly asking you to let me in again. I don't like being alone, I don't like this emptiness I'm feeling."
You gave into your thoughts and pulled Yelena into a hug, surprising her. Your grip was tight as you spoke, feeling tears fill your eyes.
"I never should have let you push me away. You needed me and I let one fight break us apart."
You felt Yelena shake her head as she wrapped her arms around you, reprocipricating the hug with a grip tighter than yours.
"You know, I was scared you were going to yell at me and kick me out when you saw me." Yelena admitted, her voice small as if she was afraid you still would. You pulled away from the hug slightly, just so you could look your friend in the eyes.
"Len, all you had to do was come back and ask. It was your move to make. I'll always be here for you and it hurts me to see you like this."
The hope in Yelena's eyes shone bright, a genuine smile spreading on her face. You were about to hand Yelena her mug when you saw a sheepish expression on her face.
"Oh god what did you do? Besides going all Targaryen."
The familiar banter warmed Yelena's heart. Since Natasha died, since fighting Clint, she had felt like she had no purpose. So many nights had passed where all she wished was to join Natasha. You had always made Yelena feel at home, like she belonged. She couldn't believe she had almost lost one of the only people on Earth who truly knew her. Now, after everything, she was going to ask if you would turn your life upside down so that she wouldn't be alone anymore.
"I have something to ask you actually," she took the tea from your hands, taking a heavy sip to calm her nerves, "Valentina is starting a new team," at your sudden raised eyebrows, Yelena rushed out the rest of what she wanted to say, "And I know you quit the Avengers, you probably have a great job-"
You scoffed at that, knowing the job you had at the moment was one of the worst ideas you'd ever had, but it paid the bills. Kind of. Yelena continued.
"But, I think your skills could be useful? The Contessa also put Alexei on the team and-"
"Oh god, I'm not going to let you drone on when I'm already planning my suit in my head. Do you think Shuri takes custom orders?"
Yelena looked like a fish out of the water for a second at your agreement, a list of reasons why you should joing the Thunderbolts still going on in her mind. But once your answer clicked in her mind, Yelena felt a wave of warmth overtake her, the emptiness being replaced by a sense of belonging. You might've not been what she lost permantely but you're what she needed to find.
a/n: ok that was an abrupt ending my apologies. i hope y'all enjoyed this somewhat!! i didn't want to go too deep as i already have a giant angst fest planned but im actually kind of excited to see how they explore yelena's mental health in the movie! and they better not put her and bucky together romantically, that's just...icky to me

ᴀꜰᴛᴇʀ ᴀʟʟ ᴏꜰ ᴛʜᴀᴛ, ᴡᴇ'ʟʟ ʙᴇ ꜱᴛʀᴀɴɢᴇʀꜱ ᴀɢᴀɪɴ..?
Reader finds out their relationship was nothing but a lie
word count: 803
In hindsight, you should've seen this coming. Yelena arrived out of nowhere. She planted herself in your life, and seemingly changed it for the better. You two were extremely happy together; calling each other things like angel and my love., having movie nights, taking each other on stupid dates. Even her group of friends welcomed you with open arms and smiles on their faces... It was amazing while it lasted
reblogs > likes
You and Yelena hadn't seen each other for a week. Your work was keeping you occupied, and her job was as well. You worked in the government, which meant constantly being around and handling sensitive information. You were used to it, though.
The week without her was bizarre. She was distant, and it felt like the world without her was quiet and lonely. It sucked, but atleast your vacation was coming up. No work, no stress, just you and Yelena.
As soon as friday came, you kicked off your shoes and threw off your jacket, flopping on your couch with an exhausted sigh. "I'm not leaving this spot for the next 4 days." you mumbled to yourself, typing in your girlfriend's number. Atleast you had her. she had been patient with you, she loved and cared for you.
No answer.
That was fine, you knew she was busy. Time passed and eventually, you slipped into a deep sleep with one hand held around your phone and the other peacefully resting on your stomach.
—
The next morning, you woke up to a text from Yelena. Your heart jumped, and you felt moonstruck as if she were your first love. You fumbled to grab your phone, aggressively combing the hair out of your tired face as if she could see you
Her text read:"Hello, my love. My apologies for being busy, I've had some things to attend to. Could you please come over to my house at 10 AM? I have something I'd like to share with you."
You eagerly stood up from your awkward sleeping position from the couch and began getting ready, making sure to wear something you knew looked good on you.
You arrived at Yelena's house carrying a basket of her favorite things, knives, muffins, etc. As you walk up the stairs, you notice her door is open.
"Huh, weird. She's usually very adamant about security."
You keep walking up the stairs as you hear your girlfriends strained and frustrated voice, worry pricking the back of your mind.
"Look, Barton. She's on her way now."
"Yea, she fucking better be, our asses are on the line here." You heard his deep voice reply back, sounding equally as frustrated.
"It hasn't even taken me that long. Earning someones trust takes time, you know this."
You recognized "Barton" as your mutual friend who you met through Yelena. You two had gotten close over the past few months, and you had never been happier with so many new friends. They were honestly better than your own family
Their voices became more clear as you got closer, practically standing a few feet the doorway now.
"Look.." He released a heavy, exhausted, sigh
"You just need to get the codes from [reader]. That's it.. then you can do whatever. Never talk to them again, act like this never happened, whatever. You just have to do this one thing.”
Your heart dropped as a million questions danced in your mind. Your breathing picked up and you felt dizzy as their conversation continued. What were Yelena and Clint talking about?
Their voices began to sound muddled as you got lost in your own head, at this point you could barely hear their conversation as you stood in a daze, still close to the doorway.
Was your girlfriend just using you this entire time? All those nights you two spent together were just a damn lie?? all for what.. just some codes? Why does she even need them? What the hell?
Finally, you snapped out of it and realized there was sudden silence in the room you weren't even really in. You looked up and saw your girlfriend's familiar green eyes looking at you. Not with love, but with.. a blank expression you hadn't seen on her before. It was.. determination? fear? realization? Either way, she knew her cover had been blown. You had heard everything.
You stared at her, tears filling your eyes as you backed away.
“Yelena? You there?” Clint’s voice rang through her phone, easier to hear with how suddenly quiet the world felt.
He was in on this too. They were all in on it, it was all a fucking lie. Every single friend you made through her, every single connection was just built on dishonesty made to deceive you.
She stepped towards you as you backed away a few steps.
“I can explain.” She said. Typical.
“No.. you can’t. If you ever call me again - No, if you ever come within 50 fucking feet of me again. I’ll.. What can you even do to someone like her? What even was her real job? Her real name? call the police.. Pathetic.
You turned on your heels, the tears finally spilling from your eyes, walking away from Yelena, who was a stranger you once knew.

Hi! Would I be able to request a fic for coming out to Yelena Belova (MCU. Sorry for spelling on last name) as Aroace, please?
oh absolutely! I know there's some discourse about whether Yelena herself is "technically" aroace or not but I personally believe she is, so this fic (and everything I write with her) will reflect that. I'm not aroace so if there's anything inaccurate please let me know and I'll make sure to change it. hope you like it! <3
A Lot More Similar (platonic! Yelena Belova x reader)
Warnings: Yelena calls the reader "dude" but it's meant in a casual gender neutral way, very brief and mild swearing, Yelena and the reader drink beer in this
"Hey, Yelena, can I talk to you about something?" You asked somewhat nervously, giving her a glance.
You were both sitting on the couch watching trashy reality TV and making fun of the people on it when you were suddenly hit with the urge to come out to her. You figured that now was as good of a time as ever, and that you were as ready as you'd ever be.
"Yeah, sure. What's up?" She asked casually, not having noticed how nervous you were.
You took a deep breath, trying to collect your thoughts before continuing. "I- I think I'm aroace. Actually, no, that's wrong. I am aroace." You tried to be confident when you spoke, even though you were terrified to hear her reaction.
Much to your surprise, she just shrugged and said, "Okay."
"Really?" You asked in confusion.
Yelena snorted in laughter before responding. "No, I hate you. Get out of my house." She said sarcastically while pointing towards the door.
You had to laugh, realizing just how ridiculous it was for anyone to not be accepted just for being themself. "Wait, but seriously, though. You're really okay with it?"
"Yeah, dude, of course." She took a swig of her beer before leaning back on the sofa again. "Why would I have a problem with it? Hell, I'm aroace."
"You are?" It was difficult to hide the surprise in your voice, causing Yelena to laugh again.
"Of course I am. I mean, it's not something I like to make a big deal of, but I don't exactly plan on really hiding it, either."
You nodded your head as you started to understand where Yelena was coming from. "Yeah, that makes sense. I guess we're a lot more similar than I thought."
She made a sound of agreement. "Yup, we're both aroace, we both like pizza and beer, and we both hate crappy reality shows."
Laughing, you held up your beer bottle. "I'll drink to that."
Yelena smiled, lifting up her own drink. "Cheers."

“Hey guys, come on in!” Wanda smiled as she stood aside to let yourself and Yelena into her apartment.
Atleast once a month, you and your girlfriend Yelena always made time to head over to Natasha and Wanda’s apartment to spend a fun night catching up, watching movies and playing board games. It was a great way to catch up, and it allowed for the four of you to establish a pretty close bond which always came in handy during missions.
Only tonight was a little different, truth be told you didn’t exactly feel great. Your throat was uncomfortably scratchy and there had been that dull ache lingering in your head. If you were being honest, you would’ve preferred to stay home, curl up and try to sleep off whatever bug you’d caught before it hit you in full force but you couldn’t do that to Yelena. While you both loved these get-togethers, it was her who benefited the most. It was a chance for to spend time her sister and there was no way you’d cancel on that.
So you opted to stay silent. Sitting down in the living room, you were greeted by Natasha had who laid out a selection on board games.
“Which one do you wanna play first?” She asked, kissing Wanda’s cheek as she came to sit down beside her.
“I don’t mind.” You said but your voice ended with a rasp, sending you into a small coughing fit, “Sorry! Something just caught on my throat there.” You lied seeing Yelena glance towards you, a worried look behind her eyes.
“Let me get you some water” Nat offered, giving your shoulder a comforting squeeze as she stood up, “You lot should pick a game in the meantime.”
By the time Natasha returned with your water, the group had settled on playing Monopoly. Everything was great for the first half an hour, and everything had been going smoothly. That was until the pressure in your sinuses had gotten painful, giving you a rather unpleasant headache which you’d been your best to ignore but Yelena had caught you massaging your temples one too many times.
She waited until both Natasha and Wanda had left the room to grab snacks before turning to you, cupping your cheek as she looked over you, “Are you alright? You’ve been rather quiet today.”
“Im fine ‘Lena.” You tried to assure her, even adding a forced smile for good measure, “Just a little tired, that’s all, don’t worry.”
“Are you-“ She began but stopped seeing that Nat and Wanda had returned with food.
“Everything okay?” Wanda asked as she set down a bag of Doritos onto the coffee table, noticing the slight change in atmosphere.
“Yep, everything’s fine, me and Y/N were just-“
“Hh’tshoo!”
“Bless you.” The room chirped, but you couldn’t help but feel the anxious eyes of Yelena scanning over you once again.
“Im fine.”
“I didn’t say anything.” She smirked.
Over the next few hours, all you could do was sniffle. Nothing seemed to stop the constant running at the back of your nose, not to mention the headache which had felt like it amplified tenfold. But this time it wasn’t just Yelena who’d picked up on it, both Natasha and Wanda had noticed too. But you were desperate to see the night through, you had too.
Thankfully your sniffles seemed to die down for a little bit, well, that was until you’d felt that knowing tingle at the bridge of your nose and whilst you tried to tight against it, there was nothing you could do to stop it.
“Eiiishiew! Hh’ttshoo! Hh-hih’iiishiew!”
“Oh goodness, bless you!” Yelena cooed, rubbing her hand down your back as Wanda used her powers to levitate a box of tissues towards you.
“You feeling okay Y/N?” Natasha asked, exchanging uneasy glances with everyone, sharing her sister’s concern.
“Im fine, I swear, it’s probably just-“ You paused to yawn, unable to stop yourself from sniffling damply afterwards, “Im okay.”
The anxious faces of the three women met your own and your shoulders dropped seeing their concern, the concern which only grew seeing you break off into a series of deep chesty-sounding coughs moments later.
“You don’t sound very well.” Wanda said, being the first the voice the collective thoughts of the room.
At Wanda’s statement Yelena reached over and pressed her hand over your forehead, sighing deeply feeling your overly-warm skin, “I think you’re feverish sweetie, why didn’t you say anything?”
“Relax ‘Lena.” You sniffled, running your sleeve beneath your nose, grimacing as the rough texture irritated it, Its just a cold, I’ll be fine.”
Nat and Wanda gave each other a knowing look and excused themselves from the room, letting the two of you talk privately.
“You know theres tissues here for a reason, right?” She sighed, pressing a bundle into your hand, “You been feeling icky all day?”
Taking the tissues, you blew your nose, before nodding. Not resisting when Yelena sighed again as she pulled you into a hug, “What are we going to do with you, ey? You’ll be okay sweetie.”
“I know but I didn’t want to spoil your night. I know you love it when we get together with Nat and Wanda, its really fun and I didn’t want either of us to miss out.” You sniffled before sneezing down into your tissue bundle, earning yourself a sympathetic noise from Yelena.
“You haven’t spoilt anything, I just hate to think you’ve been sat here not feeling well the whole time. I’d even say we could take you home right now but look.” Yelena paused, turning your attention to the window. Harsh rain had begun to pour from the skies outside, “Its pouring down. And theres no way I want us to walk back home in that weather, not with you already being ill.”
“We might have a solution for that.” Natasha smiled as she re-entered the room, followed closely behind by Wanda who was holding two small bottles.
“We thought maybe you’d both like to stay the night? Especially with the weather taking a turn for the worst outside.” Wanda offered before holding out the two bottles of medicine towards you, “This should help a little bit dear.”
“Thanks Wanda.” You gave her a small smile, setting the bottles next to you.
“I think sleeping over is a great idea though.” Yelena agreed, giving the two women a thankful nod, “Should we take your guest room?”
Natasha pursed her lips, “Actually, we’re currently doing up that room, the beds are in pieces at the moment but Wanda and I already agreed that Y/N should take our bed for the night, sleeping on the sofa isn’t going to help them feel any better.”
“I cant take your bed!” You tried to exclaim however the roughness of your throat caused you to break off into a fit of harsh coughing.
Yelena sighed again whilst cupping your cheek, “You definitely have a fever sweetie.” She affirmed, “You feel warmer then earlier.”
“We should get them to bed then.” Nat added, “You’ll feel better, cmon.”
With that said, Yelena helped you stand and you both followed Natasha and Wanda to their bedroom. Following their instructions as they guided you to lie down in their bed and it really wasn’t long before you were asleep. You really did need it afterall.
“They’ll be okay, they’ve probably just caught some kind of bug.” Natasha whispered to her sister as Wanda laid another blanket over you before coming to side beside her girlfriend.
“Thanks for taking care of them. It means a lot.” Yelena smiled, leaning down to press a tender kiss to your forehead before quietly leaving the room, letting you rest peacefully, “Hopefully they feel better in the morning.”
“Im sure they will.”

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ warnings: MINORS DNI (18+) smut, language, daddy kink, alcohol, reader receiving, jealousy
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ description: it is New Year’s Eve, and of course the one and only Tony Stark does not miss a chance to impress with a party. you attend this party under the impression it would be just like every other event, but you are soon proved wrong after you make a mistake to talk to Kate Bishop. your girlfriend sees your encounter from afar and chooses to deal with your wrongdoing in her own way… but do you learn your lesson?
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ word count: 2k
You watched the numbers increase on the small screen above you. The elevator whirled up an extensive amount of floors and you could hear music and voices getting louder as you reached the top. To top it off, you had to listen to lousy jazz music all the way up.
The elevator jolted to a stop and the noise right outside of the doors indicated the size of the group waiting on the other side.
You inhaled deeply and adjusted your clothing nervously. This was the last party of the season and you were all but happy. Parties and holidays brought out the worst in Yelena and you were ready for them to be over. Parties in particular were a sore spot and she had been acting childish as of lately.
She was easily irritated, didn’t engage in conversation much, wanting to leave early, and most importantly—her jealousy was through the roof.
Recently there were new recruits who have been hanging around more and getting to know everyone. Yelena isn’t the friendly type, especially when it comes to other people talking to you. Of course, you were simply trying to be nice while Yelena thought of it as a threat.
You assumed tonight would be no different.
As the elevator doors eased open the sounds were almost deafening. You couldn’t tell if everyone’s voices or the music was louder, either way you had a difficult time adjusting from the tiresome elevator tunes.
You should’ve known that New Year’s Eve would be a hit at the Avengers Tower, but somehow you thought everyone would be down in Time Square observing the annual ball drop. It was only an hour until midnight so there was still time.
“Hey… y/n!”
You see a hand waving through the crowd but can’t quite make out who it is.
From in between two individuals, Peter emerges panting. “Hey! I was trying to get your attention, but it’s kinda hard with all these people.”
You can’t help but laugh. “Hey, Pete. How long have you been up here?”
“Well if you’re talking about how long I’ve been up here at the party, it’s been about 2 hours…if you’re talking about how long I’ve been up here in general…all day.”
“Peter, why on earth have you been up here all day?”
He scratches the back of his neck. “You see, Sam said—”
“That’s all I need to know,” you stopped Peter. “Anyway, have you seen Yelena around here at all?”
“Last time I saw her she was over by the bar.”
You tried to see over the mass of people crammed into the room, but it was no luck.
“Damn, there’s too many people to tell. Thanks anyways, Pete.”
You slithered past sweaty bodies to make your way over to the bar in hopes of finding Yelena there. Even after all that work, Yelena was nowhere near the bar, but there was another friendly face waiting there.
“Hey, Kate,” you greeted her.
Kate smiled back with warm cheeks. “What’s up!”
“Not much,” you responded while sitting down on the stool next to her, “just enjoying another party.”
“You sound entirely enthusiastic about it, I can see,” Kate says.
“Oh yeah, I just live for these parties. I’m definitely not tired of them after the last 5 we’ve had.”
“I’m going to agree with you on that.”
You asked the bartender for a drink to pass the time as you sat with Kate.
“How have you been liking the tower?” you asked Kate as you sipped your drink.
“It’s definitely a change of pace. Working independently out on the field versus being here with the Avengers… it’s wicked cool!” Her excitement makes you smile, remembering the time when you first were recruited.
“Don’t get too excited, sometimes you miss working alone,” you chuckle.
There was an awkward silence after your last comment, which made you think that Kate might take it the wrong way. “Don’t get me wrong, I love working in teams, but sometimes independent work helps clear your mind.”
“Makes sense… does that have anything to do with Yelena?”
You jolt your head up. “Why do you say that?”
“Well, for one, Yelena is usually the only one you go out on missions with, and two, she’s staring at you like you killed Fanny.”
Your heart leaps into your throat as you turn to face the horror Kate warned you about. Kate wasn’t exaggerating. Yelena looked as if you had just committed the crime of the century.
“Is everything alright between the two of you?” Kate asked, apprehensively.
Your eyes never left Yelena while talking to Kate. “I’m not too sure now…I’m going to have to catch up with you later.”
You left Kate at the bar as you made your way over to Yelena’s watching eyes. The closer you got to her, the more your nerves overcame you. You weren’t sure what her problem was or what you did, and you didn’t want to suffer through the consequences of her anger—especially not tonight.
You were facing her now up close, letting the music pound into your eardrums while she slowly sipped on her drink. “Fun party, right?” Yelena yelled.
“Not really.” You stared at her once again, hoping she might elaborate on her previous death stare.
“No? Hmm, that’s too bad, I’m having a great-”
“Yelena, cut the act.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“That’s a fucking lie and you know it.”
“I don’t know anything.” She smirked, but not the good kind of smirk. It was the kind of smirk where you know you had either fucked up or she did something awful.
“What did you do?” you asked.
“I didn’t do anything.” Her emphasis gave you all the clues you needed.
“Then what did I do?”
Yelena didn’t answer. She kept standing there taking small, occasional sips of her drink, almost as if the conversation was just as meaningless as the party.
“Yelena, I’m not doing this here.”
“Well, then let’s find somewhere else to do it then.”
You didn’t like her attitude at all, but you also didn’t want to leave the conversation unfinished. You looked around behind Yelena to see one of the many hallways they could sneak off to. You grabbed Yelena’s hand and pulled her down the hallway into a room.
“Is this satisfactory for you?” you asked, matching her attitude.
Yelena looked around the closet you managed to find. “It’s a bit small, but-”
“Oh, would you stop it!”
“No!” Yelena placed her hand firmly around your neck, slamming you against the closet door. “You stop it!”
You looked at her in shock. This wasn’t to say that this gesture was out of the ordinary from Yelena, but it was her ability to shut down so quickly that took you by surprise.
“You’ve been acting like a little slut lately,” she sternly said. Yelena could tell you were confused by her accusation. “Aw, you need help remembering how you embarrassed daddy?”
You tried to move your head forward to release Yelena’s right grip from your neck. “Yelena-” you started, but your head was pressed against the door once again.
“Don’t you know you don’t get to talk to other girls?” She moved her lips closer to your ear. “Don’t you know you’re mine, baby?” she whispered so delicately into your ear, your hair standing on edge.
Kate.
Yelena must have seen the realization written all over your face. You had been cutting it up with Kate while you were waiting to find Yelena. Little did you know, Yelena had been observing the two of you for a short time.
“Yelena, it’s not what it looks like,” you whispered.
“Oh, it’s not? Because it looked like you were interested in messing around with someone else, hmm?”
“No, that's not-”
“Ah ah,” she tuts. “I don’t want to hear excuses, baby…prove it to me.”
Your chest tightened. “Prove… what?”
Yelena smirked at you while her hand traced down the front of your frame. Her fingers ever so delicately slipped under the band of your pants.
“Yelena…” You could tell there was no stopping her from what she aimed to get from you.
“I want you,” she started, pausing while pushing her fingers past the barrier of your underwear, “to prove I’m yours.”
You were eye to eye now. Yelena’s eyes hung lazily with lust and revenge. She wanted to make you squirm… make you pay for how you made her feel.
She started rubbing gently against your clit, just enough to tease you. “Say it… ‘I’m yours.’”
“Yelena, please…”
“Say it!” she said, getting impatient. Her mouth was brushing against your ear, her breath hot against your skin. She bit your ear gently, hoping that you would make any kind of noise to grab her attention.
“I-I’m yours,” you whispered.
“That’s not loud enough, I can’t hear you.” With her words she picked up pace.
“I’m yours,” you moaned. You grabbed onto the wall in preparation for your legs to give out very soon. You even found yourself moving your hips against Yelena’s hand, your body craving her touch even more.
But you were angry with her. You were angry that Yelena was angry over nothing. This wasn’t unusual, which was the frustrating part, but you couldn’t help but drown in pleasure. Though it wasn’t Yelena’s intention to put you in a better mood, it was working either way.
“Such a good girl riding my fingers for me, but I want you to keep going. You can’t cum until I tell you to, baby.” The more she edged you on it only made you come closer to the edge.
In addition, you suddenly became aware of how loud you were being. You gained consciousness and were afraid everyone could hear you.
What if they notice you’re gone? What if they heard you? Or worse… What if they find you?
Your brain began scrambling. You couldn’t focus on the present, only what lies beyond the small closet the two of you were tucked behind.
Yelena could tell you were antsy, which only caused her more grief. Her other hand that was placed firmly on your hip tightened. She was keeping you in place so there was nowhere for you to run.
“I didn’t tell you to stop; keep talking,” she demanded. “I want you to scream my name loud enough to forget hers.”
The anger you were feeling started to melt away into only an ecstasy of pleasure. You couldn’t resist the way she felt against you, and you couldn’t possibly turn her away now.
“I’m yours,” you responded for her.
“That’s a good girl, but you’re going to need to be louder if you really mean it.”
“I’m yours!”
“There you go, pretty girl. I knew you could do it.” Her words went straight to your head, sending you farther into a daze. Your previous fear of your closet endeavors being seen had faded away, now all that was left was you and Yelena.
“You getting close, baby?”
She knew you so well. Your legs were quivering, your breathing was erratic, and your nails were digging deeper into the back of Yelena’s neck.
“I know you’re so close, but I need to hear you,” she begged of you.
“Please, Yelena,” you whined. “I’ll be good.”
“Aw, will you baby? Have you learned your lesson?”
“Y-yes.”
“Then show me…cum baby.”
“Oh, Yelena!”
You came undone per her command. You tried to cover your mouth to muffle the sounds that could be heard outside the door, but Yelena quickly swatted your hand away. She wanted everyone to know you were hers.
After you calmed down, you tried your best to support yourself on your weak legs. You opened your eyes to meet Yelena’s piercing stare. You definitely felt better but you could tell that Yelena wasn’t completely satisfied.
You had lost track of time until you heard the large crowd outside the door counting down to midnight. Of course you expected a kiss from Yelena for the occasion, but instead you watched her wipe her fingers on her pants and head out of the door.
You were suddenly left alone as the celebration outside continued. You leaned against the door and slid down until you reached the bottom. As you sat there, you wondered what possible lesson Yelena could be teaching you by leaving you alone at the top of the New Year.

i hope you enjoyed!

Breaking down the walls | Yelena Belova
Pairing: Yelena Belova x Reader Prompt: “Please never stop smiling.” Marvel masterlist | Words: 1670 When you heard that you had to go on a mission with Yelena Belova, you weren’t exactly thrilled. Sure, you had never actually met her personally, only ever having been in the same room as her during meetings like this. Though, it felt like you knew her through her reputation. Your mind filled with the many things you had heard your coworkers speak about Yelena.
“It’s like she has no emotions.” “I don’t think she even smiled once, and the mission lasted a week.” “She’s cold.” You remembered that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover and that you should find out for yourself what Yelena was like. In a months’ time you would have to be able to find out some things you decided on as you packed your bags.
That same evening you headed to the main hall where everyone gathered to get their mission details. You saw Yelena already standing there and walked up to her, with your hand held out in front of the woman, “Hi, I’m y/n. It’s nice to finally meet you.” Yelena’s eyes moved to the hand you still held up in front of her. “Yelena.” She said before she looked back down at the phone in her hand. You awkwardly withdrew your hand and sat down on one of the nearby seats, to await further details. This was going to be an interesting month, you thought.
When it was your turn to receive the folder with information and the location where you were expected to go to for the needed equipment, you reached for the folder as Yelena took the car keys. Before you had even opened the folder, Yelena was already on her way out of the door. You hastily followed scared she might actually leave you behind, you’d read the folder in the car. As you expected the ride over to the warehouse to gather supplies was silent, you read each page in the folder thoroughly before setting it aside. The rest of the way you diverted your gaze outside, watching the countryside pass by.
At the warehouse you received the gadgets like earpieces, burner phones, a laptop, and tracking devices, and body camera’s. Your favorite part about the warehouse was the wide variety of weapons. They already placed the weapons you both requested on the work bench. You let Yelena grab her weapons first, while you made small talk with the warehouse manager. Once you’ve both loaded your stuff into the car, your journey continues.
The first couple of days went by slowly but surely, you were getting familiar with your surroundings and getting ready to track your target. When you got back to the house from a grocery run, you hear Yelena say, “Okay, copy that.” Before hanging up the phone. She turns to you, “They have intel that our target will be attending an event tonight in the main square.” You take off your coat, “Okay, let me put the groceries away quickly and then we can make a plan.” Yelena nodded and got the laptop ready.
“Okay, so I got us into the event.” She hands you your entrance badge, it reads the name Abby Miller, you look over to her badge and see she will go by Bella Walker tonight. “Nice work.” You compliment the woman. Next you open the blueprint of the building and look at the map to look at the surroundings. Time passes quickly while you’re planning and soon you have to get ready.
You arrive at the event and get your car parked by the valet, taking a mental note of the direction they drive the car towards. As you expected, they are using the parking lot across the street. You walk through the doors and after showing your badges you’re allowed entrance. Yelena grabs two drinks off of a tray and hands you one as you walk up to a table in the corner of the hall, a table that gives you a nice view of the whole room.
Your eyes scan the room while you’re telling Yelena about random things, so you blend in well with the rest of the crowd. “10 o’clock.” You say when your eyes land back on Yelena. After exchanging a quick nod, you each down your drinks and move into the room. As you had discussed you walked slowly on the far right side of the room, stopping at the bar. You order a drink that takes a little while to make, you turn around looking over had the room as if you were people watching. In reality you were stalling for Yelena to control the hidden body camera you were wearing from the equipment that made it look like a regular smartphone. When she gave you the signal that she got the image you turned back around, and a moment later your drink got served as well. You take the drink and slowly move further along the right side of the room.
Now it was Yelena’s turn, she crossed the room straight to the middle. You watched her move around the room, acting like she was drunk, unable to walk properly. She was heading in the direction of the target, who was now only a couple feet away from her. The target was deep in conversation and had no idea of what was about to happen. Yelena stumbled against him. “Oh I- wooww I m sosorry.” She slurred. “It’s fine.” He said and held her up. “Security!” He shouted. A security guard was quick to his aid. “I think this woman needs some fresh air.” Yelena let the security guard lead her out the back where you met her soon after. Holding up the sheet with the targets fingerprints, “That was like so easy.” Her face plastered with a proud smile. That was the first time you saw her smile, your chest warmed. You knew that not everything they said about her was true.
There was just one more step to finish for the night. You walk over to the valet girl, “Excuse me, miss. I was hoping to get my car back early, my friend had a little bit too much to drink, I think it’s best to take her home.” She gives you a friendly smile, “Of course, just one moment, I’ll get your key from inside.” While you distracted her Yelena quickly put a tracker on your targets car. The valet comes back out of the building and gets your car ready for you. You thank her and drive around the building where you planned to meet back up with Yelena.
Back at the house you both change into something more comfortable. “Hey, so I got us some mac and cheese for dinner tonight because I wasn’t sure if we would have much time to cook, are you okay with that or would you like me to get something else?” You swear you saw the corners of her mouth twitch up for a millisecond. “My mom used to make the best mac and cheese.” She shared. “It’s my favorite food still.” In stead showing that you were surprised at her sharing small things from her passed, you told her a childhood memory of yourself, hoping it would make her feel safer with sharing stuff.
Your thoughts seemed to be correct as over the next week the two of you started to get to know each other more and more. You noticed the part she would shy away from, always making sure not to push her into sharing anything. Slowly you started to realize why she had built her walls so high, people had let her down starting from early childhood.
By the day the two of you got closer. It was like you were breaking away at the walls she put up for the world brick by brick. Besides that, your mission was progressing very well, you turned out to be a really good team. Probably one of the best partners you’ve ever been on a mission with and to think that you were not wanting to partner up with her because of the way other people had spoken about her behind her back.
It was the last day of your mission. You had already successfully accomplished the task at hand and were packing your stuff. Your mind fuzzed over with thoughts about not being with Yelena every day anymore when you get back. Being around her had become a part of your daily routine, a part you were quite happy about. “Is everything okay?” Yelena asked stepping closer to you. “Yeah, I’m alright. I was just thinking that I was going to miss having you around when we get back.” You honestly share.
A big smile grew on Yelena’s face. “You didn’t think you could get rid of me that easily now, did you?” Before you know it the next words are out of your mouth, “Please never stop smiling.” Your eyes widen. That was a thought that was meant to stay in your head. A blush raises to your cheeks. “Aww, don’t get shy now.” Yelena teases. She takes a step closer, you’re standing face to face with her now. Your eyes meet hers. Yelena lifts her hand up to caress your cheek softly. “This month with you has been amazing, I’ve never felt this close to anyone in my life before. And I don’t want to ruin this, but I would really like to kiss you. Can I?”
Your smile matches hers from a moment ago. “Yes, yes you can.” She pulls you in by the hand on your cheek and meets your lips in the middle. The moment that her soft lips touch yours, you melt into her. The kiss starts out sweetly, but quickly gets more passionate as you have both been craving this for weeks. The packing was quickly forgotten as you got lost in each other. It’s safe to say that when you get back, Yelena will still be by your side.
