However, there was a small issue: under the leadership of Captain Yami, there was also a subordinate named [Y/n] who gave off this intimidating aura that shook Asta to his core. Worst than Captain Yami.

After getting used to his new home over the course of several days, the 15-year-old was an early riser, continuing his routine of waking up his captain. Despite having permission to do so, it seems the captain was grumpy each morning. On a certain day, Asta found himself hesitating before knocking on the wooden door, listening to the usual long silence. Summoning his courage, he called out.

"Captain! Sir, it's morning!" Asta persisted, ignoring the hesitation, he knocked repeatedly until the door creaked open. Revealed behind it was the intimidating figure of Yami, who fixed Asta with a nasty glare. The ash-gray-haired boy couldn't help but squeak in fear at the sight of his powerful captain.

"Don't you ever stop with the damn knocking?" Yami's voice boomed with irritation, causing Asta to shrink back slightly, his nerves on edge from the captain's sharp tone.

"I-I'M SORRY, SIR, YOU TOLD ME WAKE YOU-" Asta's words stumbled out in a rush, his voice laced with fear as he bowed profusely in respect. As he lowered his gaze, his eyes caught sight of small bite marks on Yami's neck, causing him to pause in confusion. Were those...? No, it couldn't be. Before he could dwell on his thoughts, he felt Yami's grip tightened around his head, the pain intensifying.

"Hey. Are you listening?" Yami's voice lowered ominously, causing Asta to flinch and yelp. "Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow!" Fortunately, his captain showed mercy, releasing his grip on Asta's head. "What are you standing around for? Get back to cleaning," Yami commanded sternly. Forgetting about the mysterious marks, Asta saluted him and obeyed.

"Sir, yes, sir!"

With a burst of energy, he dashed down the hallway, likely waking up others in the process. Yami scratched his neck, an annoyed expression crossing his face. "That damn kid."

"He has a lot of spirit, I can see why you picked him," a groggy voice emanated from inside the room, belonging to a specific [h/c] figure who comfortably nestled into warm sheets, his form practically naked, adorned with marks far worse than Yami's, each one filled with love. The sight of his lover sprawled out like that elicited a hum from the man and savored the moment. With a smile, he closed the door, granting them both some privacy.

"You can say that again, he's a pain in the ass but he's strong," Yami agreed with a small smirk, meeting [Y/n]'s raised eyebrow with a knowing look. Yami walked over to lay beside him, craving his embrace without needing to ask for it. "Stronger than you?"

"No, not really..." Yami trailed off, his attention fully captivated by him. Leaning in, he pressed a soft kiss, reigniting the passion between them that had been interrupted earlier by Asta. Any lingering thoughts vanished as Yami's lips moved against [Y/n]'s soft ones, consuming him with hunger and desire as if it was his last meal. Their bodies entwined, Yami's muscular frame pressing down, his arms encircling his waist as their chests pressed together in a warm embrace, lost in the moment.

Yami's tongue slowly slipped into [Y/n]'s mouth, eliciting a gasp of surprise from the other. His subordinate was enveloped in pure bliss, his mind becoming blank as he surrendered to the sensation of being touched in such a way. As he felt himself sinking back into the mattress, overwhelmed with pleasure, he let out a muffled moan. With a dark chuckle, Yami teasingly drawing blood from [Y/n]'s bottom lip before pulling away. It was a cute sight, seeing his boyfriend breathless and flushed from nothing more than "simple" kisses.

The heated atmosphere shifted when Yami felt a hard tug on his black hair, causing him to wince, [Y/n] clicking his tongue disapprovingly and decided to push Yami off of him in order to breath. "Jeez, lucky for you, I'm into that sort of thi-" he was cut off mid-sentence by a pillow smacking his face, prompting a snicker from [Y/n]. "C'mon, we can't lay here in bed all day."

Yami groaned, but then he playfully pulled him back down onto the bed without using much strength. He lacked the energy to get up and desired to stay in bed a while longer. "I'm the Captain, and I order you to stay here, it's barely morning..." he complained. [Y/n] remained stubborn and didn't listen, a trait that perhaps was one of the reasons Yami fell in love with him in the first place.

Putting on a pair of pants, his subordinate shook his head with a knowing smile.

"As your...husband, I order you to go do your job of being captain." His back facing Yami, he couldn't see the way he paused and widened his eyes slightly in realization from being referred to. The [h/c] left the room without a single word. He on the other hand still had so much to process. Feeling his heart quickening in his chest, he snorted while covering his mouth after leaning back in defeat.

For months now had Julius given the same mission to the kingdom's orders, and none of them had been able to fulfill his order, not even Golden Dawn.

The mission was to capture this extremely dangerous and psychotic wanted criminal, and Julius finally gave in to inform the Black Bulls.

Now, in the meeting room of the castle, Julius and Marx were waiting for Yami to arrive, and a few minutes later, a portal appeared, Yami himself walked through it followed by Finral. The meeting was short and concise, Yami was given the mission to capture this criminal and given a picture to be able to identify him. Marx was specific about needing every member of the Black Bulls working on this and to capture him alive, the time limit was a month, less than half than the other orders had to find him.

Yami scoffed and grabbed the picture, looking down at it to see who this "dangerous and psychotic" criminal was. The guy was-

Yami had always been kinda proud of being able to maintain a poker face when surprised or overwhelmed, because that's exactly what he felt when he recognized the guy in the picture. He looked up at Julius and groaned an affirmative response, signaling Finral to open the portal again, and they soon left.

Back at their base, Yami sighed and glanced out the window, where he saw (M/n) sitting outside.

"Everyone!" His deep, booming voice caught the attention of everyone in the room, they stood up and gathered around Yami, or just stayed in their place, like Zora who didn't care much and didn't want to stand up, Nero standing close to him, "We got a mission, and it has a time limit, so listen up," Yami frowned and look at the picture in his hand, "There's a fugitive criminal that we have to capture in a month."

Luck seemed hyped about it, and so did Magma, Gauche wasn't as interested like most of the members, who were nonchalantly accepting the mission.

"Is that a picture of them, Yami?" Vanessa asked fixing her clothes that had gotten slightly wrinkled.

A unison gasp left everyone's mouth the moment Yami showed them the picture, followed by Asta screeching and about to run to the window, only to be stopped by Yami. All of them approached the window slowly and quietly, looking outside.

The picture was of a younger (M/n), who was definitely a teenager back then, but it was him, no doubt. And there he was. Sitting right outside their base, playing and talking to animals, his grimoire open and glowing as he used a spell to be able to understand them.

It was dinner time, and like usual, Charmy was cooking while Asta engulfed everything in sight, well, usually it would be like that, but everyone was quiet, wondering what the reason could be. And Zora was fed up with the silence that seemed to be piercing his ears.

He stood up from the dining table and headed outside, where (M/n) had his own plate of food brought over by the wild cats around him, who were eating along with him, gently grabbing the food with their teeth whenever he handed it over to them.

"Hey," Zora's voice slightly startled (M/n), who turned around to look at him with a nervous smile.

(M/n) remained silent for a few moments, before taking a deep breath, "Yami," the black-haired male approached him and stood next to him, "Can we talk in private?"

Yami looked at (M/n) in the eyes and decided he will, quietly signaling the rest to go back inside. Once they were left alone, Yami sat next to him and they stayed silent for a while.

"So? You gonna explain?" (M/n) kept his head down, reaching his hand out to pet the wild cat sitting by his feet, and he sighed.

"It's all made up," Yami remained silent, but his eyebrow raised, awaiting any other thing the male might say, "Julius made that up, 'cause he wants me..." Taking a deep breath, (M/n) rubbed his face in distress, "To come back."

(M/n) continued to explain to Yami what had happened years ago and how this whole thing started, and Yami just listened in silence. And eventually, they made a deal. (M/n) accepted to be taken back to the castle, not caring how Julius would react upon seeing him back.

After hours and hours went past, Yami took (M/n) back to the castle, Finral accompanying them with his portals, while everyone said bye to (M/n) one last time. He even had to hug Asta and dry his tears 'cause the silver-haired male didn't want him to leave, he grew attached to the (h/c) haired male, especially after all the training they did together since the day they met.

With a gentle smile, (M/n) followed Yami through the portal as quickly as he could, not wanting to put a strain on Finral, and soon, the three of them were in the castle's meeting room, where Julius and Marx had been discussing personal matters.

"Julius," Yami called him, catching their attention, and the two of them looked toward the Black Bulls members.

King Julius was about to say something, when a familiar face walked through the portal, standing next to Yami, "(M/n)..."

Clenching his fists and swallowing, (M/n) made eye contact with the blond, "Br-"

His voice was cut off by the crushing hug Julius gave him, dramatically crying out his name and much he missed him.

"My little brother is back!" With an even more surprised expression than before, Marx gasped loudly.

"Brother?!" Yami sighed and stared into Julius' eyes, who was tearing up like the childish king he is.

"You're not keeping him," everyone in the room looked at Yami as he spoke, shocked by the serious tone of his voice, "I brought him over this once, but he's not staying here, Julius."

The King released a chuckle when the shock passed and he kept an arm wrapped around (M/n)'s shoulders.

"As long as you let him visit, then I don't mind," leaning his head on (M/n)'s he smiled brightly, "I'm just happy to know he's okay," (M/n) sighed and tried to free himself.

"Can I go now?" He asked with a monotonous tone, and Julius only laughed louder.

"Only after you have dinner with us, of course!"

series summary; what happens when time suddenly decides to feed you snippets of a life you can't remember living? a life filled with joy and happiness that was cruelly ripped away - your mind plagued with just that. when a certain spirit is plagued by these memories as well, he’s just as confused as you. two hearts brought together through many millennia find they’re connected in more ways than one.

Just as quickly as you had been asked, the next day came around and before you knew it, you were ready and stood outside the museum. Glancing down at the watch on your wrist, you saw you were earlier than you thought, maybe you were more keen than you had let on for this. Looking to the side, you watched as people walked in and out, excited chatter from them filling the air as you leaned against the wall. Your gaze then moves to the banners on either side of the door, taking in their design and the text. You didn't think this would be popular but like yourself, there were plenty of people who loved to learn about a place like Ancient Egypt. Turning your attention back to outside the museum, you caught the tri-coloured hair of the male you were meeting.

Walking down the steps, you walked forward and waved with a bright smile. Soft eyes looked at you before the male waved back, rushing quickly to your side. The action leaves them slightly out of breath, much to your amusement. "Thanks for doing this, (y/n), I know the spirit is excited as well". Letting out a giggle, you nodded and looked over your shoulder at the building. "It's no problem at all, Yugi, really. I've been eager to come here for a while, now I have the perfect reason". Looking back to Yugi, you tilted your head slightly. "Say Yugi, what should I call the spirit?".

Your question had taken both the young boy and the spirit of the puzzle by surprise. No one has ever asked what he should be called. Most people just referred to him as Yugi or the other Yugi, but you wanted to know what he wanted. Pondering, the young boy looked to the floating male at his side, waiting for his answer. After a few minutes of silence, your friend spoke out, giving you the answer, to which you smiled and nodded. "Yami, you can call him Yami".

When the coast was clear, the young boy stepped back before a bright light shone causing you to cover your eyes slightly. When the light dimmed and you glanced back up, you saw a slightly taller male standing there. His gaze was sharper, his eyes more stern and his hair a little bit different in style. Looking him over, you hummed and held your hand for him, offering a bright smile. "I take it you're Yami, it's nice to finally meet you. I'm (y/n) but I guess you already know that". Looking down at your hand, the spirit took a moment to take in what had happened before he looked back up at you. Now that he was using Yugi's body, he could get a good look at you. He could see why Yugi talked about you most of the time. Taking a hold of your hand, he gave it a firm shake and gave back a half smirk. "That's correct. It's nice to meet you too, (y/n)".

Looking down at your hands, something felt right about it. Sure, it was your friend's body being used but when Yami took over, things changed. The hand you held onto felt strong yet familiar at the same time. Deciding now would be a great time to let go, you laughed nervously before motioning behind you. "Let's get in there and see what we can find".

Once inside, surrounded by the exhibition on Ancient Egypt, you sighed in relief as you felt yourself relax. You didn't want to make a bad impression but you were almost certain you had done. Taking a moment to look around, you gauged where everything was, making a mental note of the best displays to look at before turning your gaze to Yami. "Okay, so I think I see some displays that might be a good starting point, but if you see anything let me know and we'll check it out". At hearing your words, Yami nodded and followed you to one of the displays, taking in how you spoke and the way your face lit up when you mentioned anything Egyptian. It was a sight that made him feel at ease. After a few minutes of you both being there, the spirit felt himself being pulled towards something at the back of the room. The footsteps beside you receded while you continued to gaze at the artefact in front of you.

A moment later, you looked to your side ready to ask the spirit's opinion on something, only to be met with a space. Turning around, you scanned the room but caught no sight of him. Sighing, you walked forward and began searching everywhere you could, finding anyone but the person you were looking for. After a good few minutes, you stopped before a door at the back of the room and bent over, letting out a frustrated noise and you wiped the palms of your hands on your legs. You were tasked with one thing, and one thing only yet you couldn't even do that. "Ahh, my Queen, it's nice to see you're finally here". The sound of the voice caught you off guard as you stood up and spun on your heel, coming face to face with the young woman who you'd seen in the papers a few days prior. The one in charge of running the exhibition, Ishizu Ishtar. "I'm sorry you must have me confused with someone else~".

The dark-haired woman shook her head with a smile before stepping forward, placing a hand on your shoulder. "I assure you I don't. I have something useful for you". Taking a step back, she motioned to her side before a male stepped forward, holding something in his hands for you. Looking from the item to the Ishizu, you held a hand out and let it hover over the item. Did you dare touch it, let alone take it? "Please, my Queen. We've been keeping this safe for five thousand years, it should be returned to you". Before you could protest any more, the item was placed in your hands. Looking it over, you felt a sense of familiarity from it. "Now, that door behind you, head on through and you'll find the person you've been looking for down the stairs".

Nodding your head, you turned around and walked through the door, descending the steps until you reached the bottom. For some reason, you trusted her words and her. Like she was someone you once knew. Coming to a stop at the bottom of the steps, you placed the item in your hands close to your chest before you walked forward, turning your head to either side to see if you could find him. "Yami! Are you down here!?". Up ahead, there was a noise which sounded like an answer to your question. Moving forward, you turned the corner and found the male you were searching for. "Here you are, I was wondering~". You stopped talking when you caught the tablet in front of you. You were almost positive you nearly broke your neck from the quickness of the double take you had done. Standing there in front of you was the person on the tablet, or you thought it was. "Yami?".

The spirit looked at your confused face before looking back at the tablet, you felt how he had when he first saw it. However, he'd had a good amount of time to get used to what he was seeing, taking in what the ancient tablet depicted. The more he looked at it, the more it felt like it was something from his past, that depicted his life before everything he knew was wiped from his memory. "It appears to be some form of ancient duel between the Pharoah and one of his advisors. I admit it's a bit of a shock to see someone who looks like me up there". Casting his gaze on you, he took note of the item you had ahold of. "I see you've found something as well. Anything important?".

Looking in slight confusion, it took you a moment to realise he was talking about the item you'd been given upstairs. Moving it from your chest, you placed a hand on top of it and nodded. "I hope so, it's a book of some kind but I'm not entirely sure what yet but fingers crossed it's something good". You turned your attention back to the tablet and noticed a section faded like it had been purposely damaged so it couldn't be read. "Say, you think this was important? Looks like something's been worn away on purpose". Raising your hand, you placed it on the glass in front of you as you took a step closer, there was nothing on this tablet aside from an image that screamed out to the both of you. That left the book in your possession, there had to be something in it and there was only one way to find out.

Aster: You hear someone say to a boy with brown hair not too far from you "Nice to meet you Jaden my name is Aster." Aster said. You walk over and he sees you. "Hi there my name is Aster." Aster said. "Hello my name is y/n." You said.

Jack: Your really good friends with Yusei. One day while you were helping Yusei with his Duel Runner he says: "Hey y/n I want you to meet my best friend Jack." Yusei said. "Sure Yusei." You said. 5 minutes later... "Jack this is one of my really good friends his name is y/n." Yusei said. "Nice to meet ya y/n." Jack said. "Nice to meet you too Jack." You said.

Jesse: You see Jaden talking to a boy with blue hair and a southern accent. "Hey y/n, this is my friend Jesse!" Jaden exclaimed. "Pleasure to meet ya y/n." Jesse said.

Seto: "Hey dweeb, come here." someone said. I walk over to him. "The names Seto Kaiba don't forget it." Seto said.

Jaden: You were running late to class. You're not watching where you're going and you bump into someone with a red uniform on. "Oops sorry. Nice to meet ya the names Jaden Yuki. Whats yours?" Jaden asked. "My name is y/n." You said.

Yusei: You're driving your Duel Runner untill... "Oh my god I'm so sorry are you okay? By the way the names Yusei." Yusei said. "My name is y/n." You said.

Yami Yugi: "You see a guy who looks almost identical to your best friend Yugi. Just a little taller. "Hey Yugi- Oh hi. Whos this?" said the taller version of Yugi. "Yami his name is y/n hes my best friend." Yugi said. "Cool. Nice to meet you y/n." Yami Yugi said.

Yugi: I'm walking to my first class when- "Oops sorry I didn't mean to bump into you." A boy with tri colored hair said. It's alright. My name is y/n. Whats yours?" You asked. "My name is Yugi." Yugi said.

Chazz: You're a Slifer red. You're walking down the hall and you hear someone say: "Hey Slifer slacker." I turn around and notice he has spiky black hair. "You're new here. Just telling you I'm the Chazz!" Chazz exclaimed.     

Zane: Todays your first day at Duel Academy you have short hair and are about average height. You walk around on the island looking for anyone that could show you the way to the Obliesk blue dorm. Finally you see a tall guy with dark blue hair and you walk over to him and look up. "Excuse me sir... do you know where the Obelisk blue dorm is?" You ask. The dark blue haired male nods "Yes I do I can show you the way if you want. I'm Zane Truesdale." Zane said. "Oh it's nice to meet you Zane I'm Y/n L/n." You said Zane had a frown on his face.  "Its nice to meet you too Y/n I'll lead you to the Obliesk blue dorm since we are in the same dorm" Zane said pretending to be unfazed by you.You nod happily as Zane leads you to the Obliesk blue dorm a thought goes through Zanes head. Y/n seems like an interesting guy.

Requests can take anywhere from a month to well over a year! the current fics I have posted were written years apart, and I typically only write if I have a lot of inspiration. If you'd like to guarantee that your submission get written, just shoot me a message and support me on Ko-fi! Any donation will guarantee your fic gets written! :)

You can request anywhere but it's less likely to get lost if you request via asking or by commenting on this post!

When you request, please include the character as well as any AUs, general themes (angst, fluff, NSFW etc), or any prompts you'd like featured! I absolutely love working off of small prompts, ESPECIALLY dialogue prompts!!

I will only write 18+ yo male character x Reader fics (sorry!!)

I will only write from a second person perspective, and will typically write from the perspective of a female-coded reader (but anyone is welcome to read <3!). "(Y/N)" will occasionally be used, but you can ask to have that removed entirely in your request as I have no issues working around it :)

Fluff and hurt/comfort is definitely my forte but I am more than willing to try my hand at other common themes! You can typically expect happy endings though :)

This fanfiction means so much to me because Yami Yugi was my first male anime crush, and the sole purpose I got into anime.
