hi. Uhm. Jay encouraged me to do this because I’ve been putting it off. You’re so so so hot and I’m honestly really nervous about sending this ask cause I’m. Ugh. You’re so. You’re so pretty and it makes me really nervous.
uhm. But yeah I’ve seen you interact with @subby-ftmutt a lot. And definitely gotten off on it. so I just. I wanted to say hi. And that I love your voice. And you’re very beautiful and mean and sexy and cool.
I’m gonna go crawl into a hole and die now. AND IM DMING JAY WHILE IM DOING YJIS AND HES MAKING IT SO DIFFICULT TO CONCERNTTATTE ISTG. if this ask is a mess blame him because he’s being soooo distracting and hot and and im also sick currently so. Sorry.
-@pretty-boy-rue
Rue you’ve been a frequenter to my comments and reblogs since like around the time I made this account, I’m very aware how much you like me. I think you’re cute and very sweet, probably to sweet for someone like me. I’m a pretty mean dom and I get off on humiliation which works best on the ones that are hard to get and like to talk back. I feel like its too cruel to be mean to pets like you.
That being said I always appreciate seeing your comments. Seems like you’ve really enjoyed my audios. Maybe someone needs me to call him a good boy personally.

backstage — yji
synopsis. the cute maknae from stray kids catches your eye backstage at m countdown. he’s been crushing on you since your debut.
pairing. jeongin x gn!idol!reader
format. imagine
word count. 2.2k

of course you knew of stray kids—it was impossible to even dip your toes into the world of kpop without hearing about the record-breaking 4th generation boy group whose success was undeniable—but aside from the handful of their songs on your playlists, you didn't know much about them. frankly, most of your attention was so focused on your own group and your next comeback and your upcoming shoots and your future fansigns that you barely had any time to become familiar with other groups.
backstage at m countdown, makeup artists were rushing between you and your members with brushes and lip tints, fans were whirling in the background to minimize sweating in your stage outfits, and the room had the faint stench of hairspray and coffee. the collar of your shirt was a bit too tight and the heat in the room was beginning to overwhelm you, despite the hard work of the fans. you motioned to the door to one of your members before slipping outside of the room, instantly gratified by the chill of the air conditioning in the quiet hallway.
that was, it was quiet, until you heard a loud shriek from one of the ends of the hallway. from a few doors down, two boys sprinted out of their room and a third followed, pointing a camera at them with a smile on his face. one of the first two boys was clearly chasing the other, arms held wide open asking for a hug, while the other expertly avoiding his embrace.
"ah!" the chaser—the shortest of them all, with broad shoulders and a grin on his face—exclaimed. "when did you get so cute?"
.
his victim—dark hair, sharp eyes, the most endearing smile you could ever think of on a person (he was smiling, despite being hunted down for affection)—laughed as he was cornered. he didn't give in, though, holding his arms out and pushing on the other boy's shoulders to keep him at a distance.
"enough!" he said, but he was giggling, even when he brought his fist up in a fake threat.
the chaser puckered his lips and the boy behind the camera let out a laugh.
"innie!" the chaser cried in an overly-sweet voice as he finally won the fight and enveloped the other boy in a tight hug. "cute, cute, cute!"
his victim's smile grew as he pulled his face away from the other boy's puckered lips. he was laughing with a thin blush on the apples of his cheeks and you couldn't help but chuckle at his predicament. he was still trapped in a hug when the three of them retreated back to the room and, as their door closed, you could hear a final complaint of "let go of me!"
later, you clutched a handheld fan centimeters from your face as post-performance sweat gleamed on your forehead. your stage microphone was still taped to your cheek and your in-ear monitors were draped around your neck. it was a great performance; you were extremely pleased with each of your members' execution and your staff members had praised you on a job well done. freshly-delivered starbucks drinks were handed out as you began to peel off unnecessary layers of your stage outfit.
when you finally collapsed on the couch, feeling cooled off and free from the shirt collar, you caught sight of the television on the wall live-broadcasting the m countdown stage. a boy group of eight were just beginning their first song when you immediately recognized the three boys you saw in the hallway earlier. their giggly, playful demeanors were gone, replaced by commanding expressions with a subtle air of sensuality. from the second the song track kicked in, your eyes were glued to the screen, watching the eight of them dance like it was their second nature and deliver their lines skillfully. they were beyond professionals and the simple title of 'performers.' the stage belonged to them. you glanced at the bottom of the screen at the words that read: stray kids. ah. they lived up to their endless praise.
you couldn't help but keep feeling your eyes drift to one member in particular, the one who you watched get attacked by his member in a hug. his presence on the stage was magnetic—sharp gaze, smooth movements, the youthful glow in his face. it was hard to believe this was the same boy who grinned brightly and laughed openly in the hallway. then, when the first song ended and the camera held onto his face for a few moments longer, he shot the audience a small smile and you recognized that lively glint in his eyes. you were charmed.
innie.
"do you know who that was?" you asked one of your members when the camera cut away.
your member finished a sip of their iced americano and shrugged. "i don't know. i think i recognize him—something with two letters. i want to say i.n?"
innie. i.n.
you later learned, from a quick internet search, that your member was right. his name was i.n, his real name was yang jeongin, and he was stray kid's maknae and vocalist. he was smiling in the accompanying photo that popped up.
you decided that wouldn't the last you saw of yang jeongin.
unbeknownst to you, yang jeongin had learned of you long before you spotted him in the hallway. when he first heard of the rookie group that had broken a record with their debut song, he was immediately intrigued and looked into your group. he watched a handful of music videos, listened to your debut album, and even watched some of your behind-the-scenes videos. every time, without fail, the person who caught his eye was you. there was something about your demeanor and your performances that drew him in. as he watched more content, he found himself incredibly attracted to your personality. plus, you were really, really cute.
since then, he had been keeping up with you in secret, always being the first to watch whatever the latest content from your group was, streaming your album on repeat, and popping into the occasional vlive. during a vlive of his own, he shyly mentioned that his new favorite song was one of your group's and slid in a couple of compliments in the most subtle way possible.
undoubtedly, he had a huge crush on you. he pulled your photocard in the album he bought and seungmin teased him for weeks over the giddy look that spread across his features when he saw it.
that's why, when he skimmed through the latest skz-talker episode, chuckling at the scene of changbin chasing him in the hallway for a hug, and the camera was angled in a way where it caught a figure standing at the other end of the hallway, he froze. the figure's face was blurred but he recognized your outfit immediately. he blushed and groaned with embarrassment. how was it that the first time you saw him in person it was during such a stupid antic like that? he wanted to meet you properly and charm you with a cool, professional manner. but no—you watched changbin chase him around in a baby voice. mortifying.
the next time you saw jeongin was at the kbs song festival. you sat in a chair backstage, impatiently tapping your foot and wishing you'd finish hair and makeup already. you fiddled with a certain piece of paper in your lap.
"all good," your makeup artist told you with a finishing touch of eyeshadow.
you thanked her and headed out of your dressing room with another word. it was a different building than m countdown was held in but hopefully the room you were looking for wouldn't be too far...
there it was. a few rooms down, taped onto the grey dressing room door, was a sign that read STRAY KIDS. should you knock? you suddenly felt a bit awkward; you weren't used to this kind of thing.
you ended up knocking, just loud enough to be heard over the blow dryer. the door opened moments later and a staff member stood behind it. judging by the quick look that flashed across his expression, he recognized you. you felt a bit more awkward.
"excuse me, but is yang jeongin here? i.n?"
"oh," the staff member said. he glanced behind him. "um..."
stray kids were spilled across the small room—some played games on their phones, one was asleep on the couch, another ate chips, and the rest were getting the hair and makeup done. but jeongin was nowhere to be found.
as you scanned the room, you locked eyes with one of the members getting his makeup done. you recognized him—seungmin, if you were correct—and his eyes widened in shock.
"you're looking for jeongin?" he asked you, like it was the most impossible thing in the world.
you gave him a short bow. "yes, i'd like to give him something. do you know where he is?"
"he's in the bathroom." his expression was deep with regret. "i can go get him right now."
"oh, that's okay," you assured. "i don't want to be a bother."
"no, no," seungmin said, getting up from his seat. "wait here for a bit, i'll go get him."
he slipped past you and out the door with a sense of urgency. you really didn't want to make it a big deal, and you felt bad for making him run an errand.
"i'll wait in the hallway, thank you," you told the staff member.
he nodded the closed the door uncertainly. you fiddled with the paper. maybe you should've just given it to seungmin.
one of your own staff members peeked her head out from your dressing room.
"what are you doing out there? you have to go on in two minutes, you have to come now."
"now?" you asked, even though you knew that two minutes already meant you were running late.
"yes," she urged.
you sighed, glanced at the direction seungmin left and stuffed the paper in your pocket.
"okay, let's go."
you were so focused on your performance while onstage that you didn't even think about jeongin or the paper in your pocket. you executed every practiced move with precision and smiled when the audience cheered at your parts. it was a fantastic performance and one that left you exhausted by the time you stepped off and walked back to your dressing room.
you were talking animatedly with one of your members when, right before you entered your room, you spotted jeongin standing nearby, his hands in his pockets and his shy gaze on you. he was really cute.
"i'll be there in a sec," you told your member and they closed the dressing room door, leaving you and jeongin alone in the hallway.
after a brief moment, he gave you a deep bow, one that you reciprocated immediately.
"hi," he said, eyes big and curious. "one of my members told me you were looking for me."
his hair was carefully styled and his makeup looked like it was just finished—bronze eyeshadow that drew attention to his eyes, a light rosy blush on his cheeks, a pink tint on his lips. he looked astoundingly good.
"yes," you told him with a chuckle. "yes, i was. i—uh—i wanted to give you something."
"really?"
you reached into your pocked and pulled out the paper. "yeah, well, i noticed you during m champion and i sort of thought you were very attractive," you admitted, a smile on your face. "hot and cute at the same time."
"oh," he said, the tips of his ears quickly growing red. he glanced down at his feet, then back at you. "i sort of think the same about you. i find you very attractive."
your smile grew. "is that so?"
he let out a small, beautiful laugh. "it's a little embarrassing, but yes."
"well," you began and held out the paper for him. "this was what i wanted to give you."
he took it from you and carefully unfolded it.
"it's my phone number," you told him. "if you want to, you know, get in touch with me later or something. maybe we could go for a coffee or dinner sometime."
he grinned brightly, that endearing smile of his that warmed your heart.
"i'd love that," he said. "really. i'd really love that."
you giggled. "great. i'm happy to hear that."
the two of you stayed there a moment, trading smiles and coy, pleased looks.
"i have to get back," he said, a twinge of disappointment in his voice. "i have to perform soon, so i should get back."
you nodded. "yes, of course. good luck onstage! and get in touch when you can."
"thank you, i will definitely get in touch soon. definitely," he assured. "see you later!"
"see you, jeongin."
you shared one last look of childish joy before he turned to leave and you slipped back into your room, a mental image of his gorgeous smile at the front of your mind.

Kouri watches He is Psychometric, episode 5
I see that KSM had the well-adjusted childhood I would have expected
“I have something to request of you, and you’re not allowed to refuse, but I’m not going to tell you what it is yet” KSM please
Lee Ahn is so cute with this kid and YJI is looking at him like ‘yeah, I’m gonna marry him’
This show has major tonal whiplash sometimes. A minute ago it was cute, now everyone is crying.
I love when there’s a dramatic musical sting and I know I was supposed to notice something but I ain’t notice shit
KSM saying “please don’t think” to LA is peak comedy
LA and KSM are so cute though
Lee Ahn, honey, no
How is that truck keeping speed with that car though
Okay I did NOT expect that to end with him being stabbed
They really left this poor child at the hospital with nobody for company lol
And now they’re going to let him wander around the hospital! Boy you got stabbed get back in bed
I’m supposed to go to sleep after that cliffhanger?!?

Your tongue peeks out your mouth as you put all your attention on the beads and clear string in your fingers. “Innie, can you help me pick the bead colors?”
“Sure, but doesn't that take away from you making it?” his bluntness shining through as he taps his cheek and stares at the different hues of beads organized neatly in Hyunjin’s jewelry-making box. “Red and orange.” His newly freed pearly whites sparkling at you in the natural sunlight.
You scrunch your nose. “I was thinking of a color palette with more purple tones, y’know, because Min likes purple,” unaware of his downturned lips at the mention of the older boy's nickname.
Nevertheless, he's your best friend, so he thinks hard on what would look good with purple, picking out a dull blue and a brighter one, along with a glittery and a glossy purple, deciding it's all worth it to see your dazzling smile. He carefully picks them out in even groups, holding your entire hand in his as he pours the beads with his other hand, concentrating on how your breathing gets caught in your throat for a second when your palms brush.
“Thanks.”
“Anything for you [Y/N],” he whispers, not daring to say it loud enough for you to hear. His eyes disappear in his gleeful expression, his kind in a delightful daze at the thought that maybe he had some affect on you. You wonder if he can see the blush in your cheeks, but shake the thought away when you realize his attention redirected to cutting his own piece of string, picking out pink, blue, and white beads that he laces quickly and strategically. By the time you've managed to thread barely half of your—Seungmin’s—bracelet, Jeongin’s already tying the knot on his. He stretches it gently to check durability, then tugs at your wrist gently to slip it on, a small sun charm dangling from it.
In reality, he's just not the type to say such things and do such actions at the same time—he’d much rather tease you—so he puts on a fake serious face and shrugs. “Really, it's nothing. I just didn't want you to pick something ugly.”
Your cheeks warm, smacking him as you whine for a moment. You bring your arm to your eyes to admire the pattern, smiling and hugging his neck happily. "You're the best friend I could ask for,” and he grins back, satisfied with the position.
“You're the best,” he whispers under his breath, quickly making a matching necklace for you to wear. As he pulls the craft onto you, his cheeks warm at the feeling of your neck just grazing his fingertips.
With a teasing smirk, you eye him happily. “Did you just say something nice to me willingly?” A giggle interrupting you with every other word as his cheeks tint brightly.
“And it's never happening again.” His face in his hands as he tries to tame the blush on his face.
The two of you stare at each other for a moment, before you both burst into laughter, you're hopping over to pull at his face-fat teasingly. “You're secretly a sweetheart, aren't you, Yang Jeongin? You probably say nice things in your head all the time,” drawing embarrassed groans and weak attempts at pushing off of him whilst he laughs, blissfully.
Your hair perfectly framing your face as it tickles his, an almost halo effect outlining your figure. He doesn't know if it's just him, but all he can see is you, everything else dimmed out into the background as his eyes rest on only you.
Then you pull away, a look he's not too familiar within your eyes as you back off.
Apologizing briefly, he can’t help but think that while Seungmin may hold your heart in his hands effortlessly now,
he’ll cradle it someday, even if he has to earn it.

Valentine’s Event

Incubus (n.): A male presenting demon that feeds off desire
According to the old records, desire can include romantic or sexual intent, and in some rare cases even platonic adoration. Feeding does not require a particular action. Some reports say that feeding can be done even through prolonged eye contact, though only the particularly strong incubi can do that. Generally speaking, there must be some kind of skin contact. Longer skin contact will result in better feeding.
Incubi have the particularly maddening ability to become whatever is attractive to you. Personality, appearance, situation can all be distorted to lure you into lowering your guard. As a Cupid and an angel, you are particularly desired prey. They will do their best to seduce you one way or another.
Approach with caution and never, never take what they offer you.
——————
BC. Well well, what’s a Cupid doing snooping around here hm?
[💘] N-nothing!
LMH. Oh don’t be like that darling, we don’t bite
[💘] Somehow I d-don’t believe you
SCB. And why’s that? Have we done something to trick you?
[💘] I know about you! About what you do!
HHJ. And what, pray tell, is it that we do?
[💘] Y-you drain energy. You take it from people and make them tired and- and you can kill people if you take too much!
HJS. Oh come ooooon that’s so outdated. And besides, is it really taking if they give it to us because they want us so bad?
[💘] I-I don’t-
LF. Cat got your tongue? That’s so cute~
[💘] No! Shut up! Leave me alone!
KSM. Oh but you’re the one who went out looking for us, isn’t that so baby?
[💘] N-no... No you’re wrong...
YJI. Are we now? I guess we’ll have to wait and see, won’t we angel...
———— Information ————
Event lasts from February 1st (now) to February 14th (11:59pm)
All event posts will be tagged as Valentine event
YOU CAN OPT OUT OF THIS EVENT. If you are uncomfortable with the content, let admin know and they will remove you from the tag list until the event is over. You will continue to be tagged in regular posts after the event.
As always, you will NOT be able to access the boys in their regular state. You CAN however talk to admin as they are. Although Cupid is admin’s character during the event, admin will speak as themselves as well. #[💘] =/= #admin talk
THIS EVENT IS NOT PURELY NSFW. However there will be more NSFW content than usual so please proceed with caution. All NSFW posts will still be tagged as nsfw cw
Please note the difference in definition between a traditional incubus and the event incubus. The boys do have some altered physical traits as well, such as shifting eye colors, slightly sharpened incissors, and a incubus mark somewhere on their body that will become warm and even glow when feeding.
The boys will not fully remember what happens during the event but unlike the previous events, they will remember specific occurrences if they are impactful enough, such as a love confession or a particularly scathing remark.
As always but especially during this event, consent is absolute. If you are at any point uncomfortable with the event or with an interaction, let admin know immediately and we will stop and do a check in. Admin follows both the stoplight system (red = stop, yellow = slow down, green = good to go) OR usage of safewords. As a reminder, the safe word on this blog is sunflower.
You are absolutely welcome to ask the boys questions in asks or hop into dm’s. If you currently have a dm going and would like to keep it, just let admin know and they will store your last message and respond/reply to that at the end of the event. ❝ you’re the one i want ❞ - yji

yang jeongin x reader | fluff | 1.8k words
WARNINGS | lowercase is intended, high school au, established relationship au (if that’s a thing lol), non-idol au, just your good old going on a date kinda fanfic where you two realize just how in love y’all are, whipped!jeongin, really fluffy, did i mention fluff?
SUMMARY | when your date ends with a giant promise.
AUTHOR’S NOTE | another fluff fanfic because that’s my forte and i haven’t written any skz things yet :P hehe the pic is my pfp. anyways jeongin is one of my ults and my bias in skz so this is gonna be fun to write! also i’m doing this right, right? it’s yji? yang jeong in? idk why but for some reason it doesn’t look right to me. also the ending’s trash i’m sorry-

“baby please stay still.” your boyfriend softly scolded as he carefully fixed the bunny hat on your head, one hand keeping the hair out of your face and the other placed carefully on the back of your neck to keep you still.
it was the last couple of days before the start of your guys’s senior year, before things get complicated academically. the august heat burns but you didn’t think twice about it, more excited about the fact that you and jeongin were at seoul land.
your tiny frame bounced up and down, slightly frustrating your boyfriend. he didn’t mind though because you were absolutely adorable in the bunny hat he bought for you. jeongin smiled softly at your excited face reminding him of a kid opening christmas presents.
his hands then went up to fix the froggy headband you chose for him, making sure he didn’t look completely stupid. when you first pointed out the headband, jeongin had a protest at the tip of his tongue. but dang, the way you looked at him had him nodding his head in approval before he said a word.
“are you done yet innie?” you whined, holding onto his arm as he chuckled. jeongin’s free hand goes up to squeeze the paw of your hat, one of the ears going up. his heart never failed to race whenever you two made eye contact. he wholeheartedly believes you are the most beautiful thing he has ever seen in jeongin’s eighteen years of life.
jeongin smiles at your blushing face before grabbing your hand.
“let’s go loser.” and he drags you to the viking ship on your left.
❝ i like shiny things, but i’d marry you with paper rings ❞
you couldn’t help but smile at your boyfriend’s focused gaze. you guys were taking a little break from rides and instead going around the games and food stands. his tongue poked out as jeongin focused on the target in front of him, fire behind his eyes.
you two were sharing a funnel cake when he noticed your eyes staring at the cute cow stuffed animal. jeongin immediately recognizes it from a kdrama you two watched on your first movie night as a couple. and that’s how you found yourselves standing in front of a water gun stand watching your boyfriend try and win you that stuffed animal.
the man at the running stand laughed quietly at your dumb and in love expression before the ding rang, indicating jeongin won. your boy jumped a little in victory before turning to you with the biggest smile ever.
and that’s when you felt it. that warm and fuzzy in your tummy, the racing in your heart, the automatic smile you gave him back. you and jeongin have been together since the summer before your second year of high school. you watched as he grew from the shy and timid boy to the (slightly more) confident man he is now. you couldn’t believe how you’re already gonna start your senior year with the love of your life.
love.
in that moment when jeongin stuffed the plushie into your hands and gave you a hug, you knew you were completely in love with him. you wanted to marry him someday.
you didn’t care if you two were in your pajamas or dinosaur suits, you just wanted to be his.
❝ uh huh, that’s right, darling you’re the one i want ❞
jeongin’s palms felt sweaty and clamp as you dragged him towards the carousel. your carefree and euphoric expression made his heart double in size as he blinked at you. suddenly the ring in his pocket felt heavy, weighing him down with every step he took.
the start of summer while jeongin was at the mall with his hyungs, a pretty ring caught his eye. it wasn’t anything too big or expensive (which he was thankful for as a broke high school student), but absolutely stunning. the ring had a thin silver band with one medium sized diamond in the middle, tinier ones surrounding the big one.
and before he knew it, jeongin was at the shop paying for a promise ring he was hoping to give to you before school started. there was a matching one he bought on a whim, leaving him more broker than before.
jeongin knew he was in love with you in the middle of your third year in high school when you two had a burping contest to see who could burp the loudest. you won (only because he let you) and from then he only had heart eyes for you.
he’s never felt that comfortable and safe with anyone. being so carefree and home. he was at home with you. so buying you that promise ring was his way of saying he wants to be with you forever.
❝ i hate accidents except when we went from friends to this ❞
you two met at the start of your freshman year when jeongin spilled milk all over your shirt. he was a shy boy so whenever the lunch bell rang, he ran out of the cafeteria like his life depended on it. but one day he wasn’t aware of where he was going and ran right into your timid frame.
suddenly you were met with a cold feeling running down your chest.
the poor boy freaked and apologized faster than you could register what had happened. you were a bubbly kid, though not very social so you didn’t mind what had happened. but for some reason you let yourself be dragged by the stuttered stranger, offering you his hoodie he had in his locker.
his hoodie felt foreign and warm on your body. although he was a stick at fourteen, jeongin was tall. the cloth looked big on your short frame, hands disappeared from the long sleeves. the boy was beyond red looking at you in his clothes. his eyes widened, malfunctioning on why he felt this way.
“i’m really sorry.” he muttered in embarrassment before turning around to leave.
“wait!” you called out, tugging on his wrist. if jeongin didn’t resemble a tomato then, he definitely did now. your hand felt warm around his wrist and the sudden source of heat was all his mind could think about.
“thank you.” you shyly said taking back your hand. you don’t know what has possessed you but suddenly you’re asking what his name was.
“what’s your name? i’m y/n!” you said with a small smile. jeongin’s heart felt like it was about to explode.
❝ uh huh, that’s right darling, you’re the one i want ❞
“come one baby it’s almost dawn let’s go~” you whined a bit, pulling his tall frame towards the line. it was almost sunset and you wanted to go on the ferris wheel as the last thing you two would do for the day before studies filled up your date nights.
well actually, jeongin was the one who suggested going on the ferris wheel to you before you stuck with it in excitement. it was all a part of his master plan to give you that promise ring. he was pretty confident you’d take it, after being together for so long, though of course there’s that small inkling of doubt that you’d reject it and him.
but now that it was almost time, jeongin couldn’t move his legs. he was really about to give you a promise ring.
jeongin laughed to mask his nerves but you knew better.
“awe is my baby afraid of heights?” you joked, no longer pulling his arm but putting your hand in his. “don’t worry, y/nnie is here to protect.” you broke out into a fighting pose which immediately made him laugh at your silliness.
❝ in paper rings, in picture frames, in dirty dreams ❞
here you guys were at the top on the ride, the sunset warm on your face. jeongin’s leg was bouncing in nervousness causing the box you were in to shake. you were about to reach out to the boy before he spoke up.
“y/n?” he asked in a small yet serious voice. you couldn’t help but worry.
“yes my love?” you responded back, turning your body to face him on the seats you guys were on. “what’s wrong? you’ve been acting weird ever since you got on the ferris wheel.”
your mind was racing with possibilities, the worst one sounding the most obvious with the way jeongin seemed so serious. he wasn’t breaking up with you, right?
jeongin took a deep breath before looking into your eyes, the color more beautiful than the sunset behind you.
“i love you so much.” he continued before reaching into his pocket, fumbling a bit with the box the ring came in.
“and i know we’re young and have so much ahead of us. ah you know how much i’m bad with words but, there’s so much we’re unsure of like what’s 25 - 8 or what college we’re going to. but if there’s one thing i’m sure of, it’s that you’re my everything.” the boy said, trying not to stumble over his words. his heart was at an unmeasurable rate, one hand on the ring and the other on your own hand. suddenly he took out the ring, a red velvety box which made you gasp in shock.
at this point you were tearing up. so he wasn’t breaking up with you?
“this isn’t anything too big so don’t freak out.” jeongin joked making you chuckle a bit. “but i know that i want to spend the rest of my life with you.” his grip on your hand tightened before letting go, opening the box.
“it’s nothing too big but hopefully this could show you how much you mean to me, y/n. here’s a promise ring because i really want to spend the rest of my life with you.”
the ring was beautiful in your eyes. tears fell on onto your cheeks as you looked to your boyfriend. all you could see was genuine love and care.
you caught him in a hug, causing the box to shake again, sobbing into his chest.
“i love you, i love you, i love you.” you chanted into his chest making him laugh.
“don’t cry my love. i still need to put it on you.” jeongin chuckled. you wiped off the salty water before holding out your hand. jeongin slowly took your hand as if it was made of glass before slipping on the ring. it fit perfectly.
❝ oh, you’re the one i want ❞
you put his ring on as well before the box moved indicating that you guys were going back down. before the sight of the pretty sunset escaped your view, you quickly grabbed jeongin’s face to meet yours in a kiss. a kiss to promise that you’d guys would be forever. because yang jeongin is everything you’ve ever wanted.

of coffee and numbers | yji

pairing: yang jeongin x reader
genre/warnings: university au, coffee shop au, mentions of blood, mentions of murder
synopsis: jeongin has a crush, he also works in a coffee shop, chronosaurus coffee. yn doesn’t like coffee, but she likes jeongin. he writes his number on her coffee cup, but she doesn’t seem to notice. he never thought he would do anything about it, until he impulsively called 3racha radio.
words: 2 646
“Hi, welcome to Chronosaurus coffee,” Jisung cringed at the fake cheeriness in Jeongin’s voice. Jeongin, who currently sported brown hair and a grey pullover, punched numbers into the cash register before turning to Jisung, “One earl grey tea for Bang Chan,”
“Haven’t you written the name on the cup?” Jisung cocked an eyebrow as he poured hot water into the brown paper cup Jeongin held out to him. Jeongin shrugged.
“Yeah, of course I have, I just thought you would like to know,” Jeongin smiled at Chan, who stood waiting for his tea by the register. He was dressed in black jeans and a t-shirt. His leather bag slung over his shoulder. Jisung dug a bag of earl grey from the metal box on the shelf above his head, handing it to Chan, who smiled in thanks.
“Recording tomorrow,” Jisung smiled, nodding as he wrote it down on a yellow post-it note. Chan left.
The bell above the door did not ring again until 0756. At the sound of it, Jeongin looked up from his textbook, his eyes lit up once he saw who entered. You. You wore a hoodie, T.A.R.D.I.S written on it, Jeongin made a note to ask you about it the next time he saw you around.
“Hi,” You forced a smile at Jisung’s too enthusiastic greeting. “The usual?” Jeongin’s gaze wandered from Jisung to you, he shoved Jisung away, telling him that he always operated the cash register. Jisung rolled his eyes. You nodded. Jeongin did not see, he was too busy scrawling his number on your cup. Hoping that you would see it today and text him. Jeongin never liked calling. Jisung rolled his eyes, nudging Jeongin out of the way, punching your order into the register.
“The usual is one small latte, right, yn?” He had learned your name from Jeongin’s excited rambling about you, both before and after you came in for your daily coffee.
“Yes, that’s correct…” You paused to read his name tag, “Jisung,”. You knew he was one of Changbin’s friends, but you had never gotten the name. Every time you asked if you could meet them, Changbin always said they were busy. Eventually, you stopped asking.
Jeongin handed you the coffee, which he insisted on brewing himself, to you, a shy smile adorning his features.
You lifted the warm cup to your lips, grimacing as the bitter liquid met your tongue. Changbin laughed at you.
“I don’t understand why you insist on buying coffee when you don’t like it,” Changbin tapped away on his phone, barely glancing at you as he spoke, “Besides, Chronosaurus coffee is known for having some of the worst coffee on campus,”.
You threw the barely drunk from coffee in the nearest bin you could find, “Chan goes there,” You shrugged.
Changbin pocketed his phone, “Chan doesn’t like coffee, he just drinks tea. And anyway, he’s part of 3RACHA Radio, so is Jisung, and it’d be weird if he didn’t go there,” He stopped in front of a cat, crouching down to pet it. “But why do you go there? Do you find Jisung cute?” He smirked up at you, almost as an afterthought he added, “Or maybe Chan?” Changbin dusted off his trousers, kicking a stone into a puddle of murky water. You shook your head, snorting.
“No, neither of them,” You opened the door to your building, leaving Changbin behind.
“It’s your boy CB97 with SPEARB and J.ONE live from 3RACHA Radio,” The diner had gotten eerily quiet. It was almost as if it, and everyone inside it, held their breaths in anticipation for what CB97 would say next. “Welcome back to another episode of 3RACHA Radio, we’re very glad to have you, the listeners, with us today. This has become a tradition ever since J.ONE introduced us to it, it’s time for advice with 3RACHA,” Chan smiled into the microphone, even if no one but Changbin and Jisung could see him. He nodded at Jisung as a sign for him to start.
“You guys know what to do right? Call us, if that was unclear. As soon as we get a caller we’ll start,” The radio went silent, and you could hear knives scraping against ceramic plates, “That was J.ONE by the way,” The same voice from earlier spoke up. The entire diner burst out into laughter. The radio crackled before 50s jazz boomed through, the waiting music they had. The music ended, Jisung’s voice filling the room again, ”Okay, caller number seven, how can we help you?”
“Hello? Can you hear me?” Jisung hummed in confirmation, “I wasn’t sure if I wanted to call, but I ended up doing it, I have a problem,” Caller number seven stopped, you were not sure if he stopped intentionally or if he got cut off.
“That’s what we’re here for,” Jisung reassured the caller.
“I have a crush on this girl, but she doesn’t seem to notice me, or like me back,” Jisung nodded, chewing on his bottom lip. A habit he acquired in primary school. He glanced nervously up at Chan, who smiled at him, giving him a thumbs up.
“Have you tried telling her?” Jisung took a sip of the glass of water standing beside him.
“I keep writing my number on her coffee, but she’s never called or texted me back,” Caller number seven sighed, burying his face in his hands.
“Well,” Jisung looked at Chan and Changbin for advice, both of them shrugging. None of the three men gathered in the stuffy studio knew what to do. “I would try telling her the next time you see her, or that’s what I would do,” Changbin snorted at the last part of Jisung’s sentence.
“That is a lie. J.ONE wouldn’t tell his crush, he’d whine to us about it,” Chan hummed in agreement, his eyes scanning Jisung’s red face.
“It was one time, stop teasing me about it, SPEARB,” Jisung whined. The two older boys chuckling and shaking their heads.
“Anyway, thank you for calling, caller number seven. We’ll take a short break to play Dynamite by BTS. They asked us if we could play it, and of course we can. So, this one goes out to BTS if they’re listening. SPEARB out,”
After 3RACHA Radio caller number seven had become the talk of the campus. Everyone kept checking their coffee cups for numbers, wondering if they were the lucky one.
“I wish it was me he liked,” You glanced in the direction of the voice, the woman who had spoken held a cup from Café W.O.W in her hands. Her friends laughed. You sighed as you slumped down next to Changbin. He pushed a lunch tray, and a brown paper cup from Chronosaurus coffee over the table, shoving his phone into his pocket.
“How was class?” He motioned for you to take a sip of the cup. You took it, cautiously taking a sip. The bitter taste of coffee hit your tongue, and you squeezed your eyes shut, you face morphing into one of disgust.
“Coffee? You know I don’t like coffee,” Changbin fiddled with the hem of his grey sweater as he watched a leaf fall from the birch tree beside the river.
“Yeah, but you know that 3RACHA Radio with caller number seven? The one who liked someone and wrote his number on her cup?” Your eyes flooded with confusion, wondering what caller number seven had to do with Chronosaurus coffee. “After the show, Jisung said he recognised the voice, and that it was Jeongin’s voice. So, the coffee,” He gestured to the cup. He was nervous, his palms sweaty. He told the younger boy it was for you, but he did not seem to believe Changbin. You studied the cup, turning it around in your hands. No number. Changbin cursed under his breath. The younger boy had thought that he was joking.
“Welcome back to 3RACHA Radio, unfortunately without CB97. He had to study for a test,” Changbin’s voice flooded your apartment, the source of the sound the radio Changbin gave you for your birthday last year. You remembered that he winked at you when you took it, telling you to use it to listen to his radio show.
You had not visited Chronosaurus coffee since Changbin brought you coffee from them two days after caller number seven. You did not miss the coffee. They made terrible coffee, you just missed Jeongin. You missed seeing his smiling face every day. Jeongin with his brown hair and his brown eyes. His smile could light up the entire universe, and every time he smiled at you, you swore your heart skipped a beat. Even if it was seven in the morning.
Jisung kept telling Changbin that it was Jeongin. He said that the woman was you, you did not believe him. You had not seen Jeongin’s number on your coffee cup once in the months you had gone to Chronosaurus coffee. Maybe Jisung was wrong, maybe it was someone else Jeongin liked, or maybe he did not know Jeongin’s voice as well as he thought he did.
“Today it’s just me and J.ONE at the mics, and in your speakers,” You rolled your eyes at the wink Changbin undoubtedly sent to Jisung.
“Ignoring SPEARB’s weird wink,” Jisung rolled his eyes, “Caller number seven has really been the talk of campus ever since he called,”
“Yeah, I heard from someone that the sales of hot beverages around campus have increased ever since his call,” Chagbin snorted, “I myself think it’s a waste, not for the businesses of course, but is it really necessary to buy so many hot beverages when he hasn’t made a move since he called and when you don’t know who he has a crush on,” Changbin tapped his fingers against the table, the light hitting the silver ring on his thumb.
“You have a point, but have you ever thought about how romantic he is to write his number on his crush’s cup,” Changbin snorted, not finding the action romantic at all. “Imagine all the stories that could be written about this,” Changbin tuned him out as Jisung kept rambling about how great of a story it would make. Changbin cut in.
“I think we’ll take a break here. Next song up is another BTS song, this one written by Jeongguk. But before that, caller number seven, if you’re out there listening, tell her,”.
Jeongin buried his head in his pillow after hearing SPEARB’s advice. The soft opening melody to Your Eyes Tell reached his ears. He tried to tell you, and then he tried again. No matter how many times he wrote his number on your coffee cup, you did not seem to notice the number scrawled messily on the side of it with black permanent marker. Or maybe you noticed it, but just chose to ignore it because you did not like him, or wanted anything to do with him. His heart ached with sadness at the thought. He desperately hoped that you just did not see it.
The door to the apartment opened. He heard steps and a bag being thrown carelessly onto the couch. His roommate poked his head through the door, finding Jeongin curled together on his bed, the radio in his windowsill crackling.
“What do I do if I like someone but I don’t know if she likes me back? And I’ve tried to tell her by writing my number on her cup every time she buys coffee?” Jeongin sat up. His eyes, normally filled with life and happiness, had glazed over, the happiness being replaced by sadness and uncertainty. Chan leant against the doorframe, crossing his arms over his chest. He let his eyes travel, looking everywhere but Jeongin’s pyjama-clad figure. They scanned the room, from the pile of used ceramic mugs in the corner of his desk to the overfilled hamper by the door.
“You’re caller number seven?” Chan realised long ago, he just wanted to make sure. Chan smiled. To Jeongin, his smiles always brought comfort and the feeling that Chan would be there whenever he needed him. He hesitated before nodding. “Who’s the lucky woman?” In an instant, Chan’s smile changed. Jeongin felt a blush creep up his neck, dusting his face.
“yn,” He muttered, silently hoping Chan did not hear him. He cursed Chan’s good hearing when he did.
“She’s good friends with Changbin, I could ask him to give you her number, or the address to her apartment,” Chan pulled out his phone from his pocket, he opened up Changbin’s contact before Jeongin shook his head.
“No, I don’t wanna seem like a creep. I’ll just hope she comes back to Chronosaurus coffee,” Uncertainty flashed over Chan’s face before he hid it with an encouraging smile.
“Tell her,”.
The time between Jeongin arrived at the coffee shop and the time it opened felt like an eternity, it always did, but with the looming doubt of if he was going to see you walk through the glass doors made it feel worse. Jeongin looked up from his phone as Jisung walked through the door, shaking his head.
“The wall of clocks confuses me more and more every time I see it,” He cocked his head in the direction of the clock wall he mentioned. No one knew why there was a wall of clocks in this building, the owner had tried to have them removed, but it was as if they were glued to the wall. Jeongin never paid attention to rumours, but this particular rumour about the wall intrigued him. They said that the clocks were there because of blood splatter, that someone had gotten murdered and the blood splatter was impossible to remove. Jeongin did not believe the rumour. There was no record of anyone being killed on campus according to the newspapers. The ringing of the bell above the door ripped Jeongin out of his thoughts.
“Good morning, welcome to Chronosaurus coffee,” The fake smile plastered on his face morphed into a genuine one the minute his eyes landed on the customer.
“Morning,” You curled your fingers around the glass counter, peering up at the menu sign above Jeongin.
“The usual?” Jeongin was about to punch in your order before you shook your head. His fingers hovered over the register.
“I’ll have tea,” Jeongin nodded.
“Jasmine, earl grey, oolong, matcha?” He scrolled through the list of teas, listing them as he read their names.
“Matcha,” Your cheeks dimpled and your eyes crinkled in the corners as you flashed Jeongin a smile. Jeongin turned, taking a brown paper cup from the pile, and scrawling his name and number on it. You had never taken the time to look around the interior, the first thing that caught your eye as you looked around was the wall of clocks. Soft blues music played over the speakers. Jeongin handed you the cup with a shy smile, desperately wishing that you would see his number written on your cup. You muttered a thank you before leaving the coffee shop.
Minutes later his phone pinged with a notification. He glanced at it, seeing a message from you. He let out a squeal, feeling as though he was on cloud nine.
From yn: Hey, this is Jeongin right? -yn
From Jeongin: Yeah.
From Jeongin: I really like you, and I would like to get to know you better. Can I take you out on a date?
Jeongin did not know why he sent the message, or what possessed him to. He felt his heart get stuck in his throat while he waited for a reply.
From yn: I like you too. I would love to.

— 🌙💜🦉 content creator - 2020 review
i was tagged my so many lovelies !! thank you @sleepylixie @n8dlesoupguk @delicatewerewolfsoul @meiiyue @chogiwow for tagging me!
here we go!! :D
1. First creation of 2020 and most recent creation of 2020:
most recent: Right now it’d be the bday timestamp I made for lily and Snowfall, my jack frost!jeongin fic (but i’m working on broken compass aka mad king!chan atm) first: It’s actually an unposted chan fic pfff I made it in january of 2020, but at the time I wasn’t even on tumblr (it was a demon!chan fic)
2. One of your favorite creations from 2020:
I think I have more than one favorite but I’d say Lie To Me my witch!chan fic I made is one of my favorites I’ve made so far, and Broken Compass although it isn’t released yet (psst go check out the masterlist and snippets now to get ready for it!)
3. A creation you’re really proud of:
Daffodil, without a doubt. On top of it being one of my longest fics I’ve ever written, the process that went into making it and the fact that it’s what helped me start posting makes it something I’m really proud of.
4. A creation that took you forever:
Uuuuh still Daffodil LOL xD It’s such a long fic and I spent a good amount of time redrafting and proofreading, (it’s also almost 30k words sooooooo-) but yeah it’s such a long fic that it’s length alone is probs the one that took forever. Broken Compass is also taking a while but it’s also a multi-part series. >v>a (although my 100 followers drabbles took me a minute too but not quite as long)
5. A creation from 2020 that received the most notes:
Daffodil again, it’s almost at 400 notes which I think is crazy and I’m super thankful for that honestly, it means the world that people really enjoyed, osme even said it was their favorite or favorirte chan fic they’ve read and that just really touched my heart. TTwTT
6. A creation you think deserved more notes:
Hmmm I’m not really caught up on the amount of notes my works get if I’m being honest. Of course I’d like for ppl to enjoy what I put out, but this blog is more so for me to practice sharing my work so whatever amount of notes I get is fine. If I had to pick one that I hope gets more recognition someday then..... I’ll just go with Lie To Me and probably Remedy, two fics from my series The Lost Luna (really just all of TLL I hope more people can enjoy it ^v^)
7. A new fandom you joined and a creation you made for it:
Uuuuh I only write for skz and that’s not really a new fandom since I’ve been stanning them since about May of 2018 so yeah. xD
8. A creation you made that breaks your heart:
Probably Crow’s Blood, Minho’s part of TLL. It’s one of the more angsty fics I’ve written, but also Close Call one of my Jisung drabbles made me kinda emo too. My heart goes out to him in that one hehe
9. A ‘simple’ creation you really love:
Oh oh! One of my timestamps! [3:01pm] it has Chan as a thief and the mc is a princess. It’s so simple and cute and a lot of people actually really enjoyed it much to my pleasant surprise! ^^ Some even asked for a part 2 so I’ve been playing around with the idea. It was an idea that hit me and I wrote it on the spot and posted it soon after. (I also think my mailbox asks are cute which is basically small bite-sized skz soft hours asks)
10. A creation that was inspired by another one:
Hmmm.... I suppose I was inspired to make The Lost Luna after seeing some witch!svt fics by @puppetwritings if that counts? Like seeing them write for seventeen and make them witches inspired me and made me think that stray kids as witches would be cool! plus I didn’t feel like witch!skz was something you saw very often so I went for it.
11. A favorite creation made by someone else:
Oh boy I don’t have just one so here’s a list of my recs FICS IN BOLD ARE NSFW/18+ SO MINORS DO NOT ENGAGE AND PLEASE RESPECT AUTHOR’S GUIDELINES ABOUT NOT HAVING MINORS ON THEIR BLOGS
(these are mainly bang chan fics... forgive me my bias is showing so heavily here >/////<)

18 + YJI
Song Inspiration: 18 by One Direction
Word count: ~1000
Warnings: none
Notes: Happy birthday to the most wonderful, kind-hearted, brightest baby bread! I had this song on repeat for a while and all I could think of is how wonderful it would be to be in love with Yang Jeongin. I hope that you have the greatest day, filled with only positivity and warmth, love. 🤗💗
Hiding under the blankets and speaking in hushed whispers was something you thought would be left behind once you graduated high school. But here you are, years later, curled up under your blanket, holding the one thing connecting you to Jeongin and saving every word so they would mean so much more when you could say them in person.
Jeongin’s hair is messy, lips curled into a natural pout as he sleeps on. He’ll probably have creases in his cheek tomorrow when he wakes from his arm going numb.
Your roommate is across the room, doing the same thing though it’s not nearly as cute as your boyfriend. No one can beat Jeongin in that department.
“Y/n?” The camera shifts and Jisung comes into view. “He fell asleep again.”
You smile softly, nodding. “Good night,” you mouth. Jisung gives you a wave before ending the call. You fall asleep with a tingly feeling in your fingertips and warmth in your chest when Jisung sends you a photo of Jeongin five minutes later on the other side of his bed with creases in his cheeks.
If you were to be rational, three hours isn’t that far apart. But the distance seems to stretch on for forever when there isn’t a way to reach him. Jeongin likes to promise that he’ll drive to you one day, after he gets his license and over his fear of the road. It’s a cute promise, one that you joke about whenever he misses you too much. It’s the same lighthearted teasing that happens when he triple texts you every morning after he falls asleep during your calls, apologizing for something you could never hate him for.
It reminds you of high school and how Jeongin couldn’t, and still can’t, stay up past midnight without yawning and eventually knocking out in the middle of your conversation. That was just Yang Jeongin, your best friend and partner-in-crime. He never knew of the silence that stretched from seconds into minutes into hours as you watched him with longing in your eyes and aching in your chest because that was all he ever was.
Graduation was supposed to be the end. Ripping off the band aid to see the tender but healed skin underneath. You were content with being friends, watching him from the sidelines as Jeongin succeeded in all that he worked so, so hard for.
And then it was one a.m. and you get a text after riding from the high that was graduation. It’s Jeongin, pushing past his natural bedtime to run to your house because he couldn’t drive, and climbing through your window because you’d have to bypass your mother’s ten million locks on the front door and possibly waking up the entire household.
All you remember is a blur, a whirlwind of feelings and tears and whispered promises that it’s not the end, we’ll make it together. Together. Jeongin’s hands on your cheeks, your lips against his, and the nonexistent space between you as he fell asleep right after telling you about the feelings he’s been harboring ever since freshman year.
That is Yang Jeongin, your now boyfriend. It’s been rough, with him moving three hours away with no way to visit. But they say that distance makes the heart grow fonder, and you don’t think you’ll ever stop being fond of the way Jeongin’s scrunches up his nose and curls into himself when you call him cute. It’s that same fondness that keeps you waiting for the days that he comes home, to his friends, to his family, to you.
It’s nearing two a.m. Jeongin had texted you long winded apologies about not being able to call because of finals or whatever earlier that day. There wasn’t really a point of being up on a Friday night of all days, but you were always a night owl. Your roommate is out, partying or whatever sociable college students do on Friday nights. Netflix, kettle corn, and your bean bag are your company for tonight.
Your phone rings with the specific ring tone you set for Jeongin, a song he sent you as an apology one morning for falling asleep yet again. His voice is slightly muffled when you pick up, but just hearing it makes your insides feel fuzzy. “Jeongin?”
“Are you home right now?”
“Yes?”
“Oh. All your lights are off.”
“Yeah, I’m watching Netflix.” You pause. “How do you know my lights are off?”
“Surprise?”
Your doorbell rings, like an afterthought. Your heart leaps up into your throat.
“Deadass?”
“Can you just open your door? It’s way past my bedtime and I might just fall asleep out here.”
It almost doesn’t feel real.
When you wake up the next morning, sunlight streaming into your room through cheap blinds, you almost smack Jeongin in the face because you really didn’t expect him to be there. Somehow, during the few hours that you slept, he had scooted you off your bean bag onto the floor and you had just accepted it, curling into the material instead of your boyfriend. Now, you nudge him awake, poking his sides and running your hands through his hair to ground yourself and reassure that this definitely isn’t a very realistic dream.
There are creases in his right cheek and his entire face is swollen from sleep or lack of it. But he smiles sleepily when he sees you, lets out a content sigh, and opens his arms for you to make yourself at home.
It hits you then and you drop the bomb before you even realize.
“Oh my god, I said the L word.”
Jeongin giggles in his endearing sleep-drunk way, pulling you closer to him and nuzzling into the crook of your neck. “That’s a big word.”
“Sorry. I’ll take it back?”
“No. No take backs.”
You feel the feather light touch of his lips ghosting over your jaw, sending pleasant shivers down your spine.
“I’ll say it too,” he says. There is a pause as he kisses the corner of your mouth in the soft, shy way that was distinctly Jeongin. “I think I love you too.”

YJI - Fate
prompt : ( Jeongin x Reader ; Soulmate AU ) The ancient Red String of Fate somehow malfunctions, and you find yourself tied to a cute college student.
genre : fluff , romance , soulmate au
word count : 3.5k
muse insp : Troye Sivan • Youth ( spotify , soundcloud )
As a child, you'd only heard mere stories of the "Red String of Fate" from the mouths of your parents and grandparents. When you were younger, you took it a little too seriously; you always blabbered about it in your elementary classes and usually got in trouble for it. As you got older, of course, you dropped the subject, not believing in the soulmate nonsense anymore. But it was something you never really forgot, something that lingered in the back of your mind as nothing but a fragment of your childhood. Little did you know how real it truly was.
It was a normal day to your eighteen-year-old self. You sat in your parent's bakery at the counter, your chin in your palm with your elbow propped up on the counter. The apron you wore (by force, of course) covered your knees as you spun on the stool you sat on. Heaving a sigh, you picked up your phone and scrolled through your Instagram feed. Your eyes shot up when you heard the bell on the door ding, and you made eye contact with a cute, shy-looking boy who seemed around your age. He walked closer and looked at the pastries on display as you shot him a small smile, putting your phone down. Your spinning came to a stop, leaving you to politely face him.
"Hi," You said, gaining his attention, "Just let me know when you're ready to order. We also sell coffee and tea, for here or to go."
"Ah," He flashed you a smile, "Thank you."
You nodded in response and turned your attention to the cash register, staring at it and daydreaming. You didn't really want to get on your phone while a customer was in the room.
After a few more seconds, he approached the counter, making you look at him with a polite smile. His lips raised to mirror your own before he spoke, "Can I have a walnut pie and a small cup of coffee for here, please?"
You nodded as you jotted his order down on your handy notepad, "Want creamer and sugar?"
"Ah, yes, please," Came his response. His voice was smooth and melodic, you noticed, it wouldn't surprise you if he were a vocalist.
"All right," You chimed, "It'll be ready soon. And what's your name?"
"Jeongin," He replied, taking the time to look around again.
"Got it," You nodded before hopping off your stool and gathering his order. While pouring the coffee into his mug, you heard the bell go off again and looked over before realizing it was just Chan -- he was a usual. A busy college student, but your friend nonetheless. He came by for a quick to-go coffee and left almost daily. You also took note of the time -- late evening, your brother should come in for your shift soon.
Finishing Jeongin's order, you made Chan's coffee without asking and slid it across the counter, earning his signature grin, "Why, thank you, Muffin."
You rolled your eyes and chuckled, "Stop calling me Muffin. Just because I work at a bakery doesn't mean I'm a muffin."
"Yes it does," The older responded simply, sliding you the payment for the coffee across the counter. You took the money and put it in the register, shaking your head, "Don't you have that thesis due tomorrow?"
"Don't you dare remind me," Chan groaned before sending you a quick wave, taking his coffee, and leaving. You chuckled but waved Jeongin over. The boy stumbled to stand quickly and rush over, taking his order and giving you a quick thanks, then proceeding to go back to his booth and taking out a laptop. At first, you thought he was lonely, but now you understood he probably just came here to get some schoolwork done in the peace and quiet. You'd bet he knew Seungmin, who told him to go to the little cafe you worked at. You shook your head at the thought as you sat back down at your stool. Seungmin was a good friend of yours, although you went to different schools because you lived on the border of the district, you still saw each other often. Then, he graduated and went onto college almost immediately. You, on the other hand, wanted to wait until you were nineteen or twenty to go to college. You wanted a bit of a break. He, too, liked to study and work at the cafe.
You fixed your posture and smiled as another customer came in.
* * *
You found that your worthless brother never came in for his shift, of course. Jeongin stayed working until it was nearly closing time. You heaved a sigh as you were wiping down one of the tables, looking over at the boy. He was just as focussed on his work as he'd been for the past few hours. It made you wonder just how on Earth he could work for so long, assuming he was working, anyway. He had papers skewed on the table in front of him and he stared almost angrily at the screen.
You gingerly tapped his shoulder, making him jump slightly and turn to look at you. Offering a small smile, you explained, "We're closing soon. Would you like a coffee to go?"
"O- Oh!" He stammered, looking around as he scratched the back of his neck, "I didn't even notice. But uh, no thanks on the coffee."
Chuckling, you nodded and took his mug to the back to clean it. You heard him shuffling to get his things together and leave. What you didn't expect was being suddenly tugged back by some force on your wrist. With a small grunt, you looked down to see that there was a thin red string around your wrist. "What the hell?" You muttered, tugging on it experimentally. The string was around your wrist, and it lead all the way out the door into the main area. It was attached to something else.
You heard some distressed noises coming from the main area, which sounded strangely like Jeongin. Setting the mug on the counter near you, you padded out from the back to see what you were connected to and what Jeongin's problem was.
Your eyes became the size of plates as you realized that he, too, had a red string around his wrist that was connected to your own.
"What is this?" You muttered, walking over to him. The boy's scrutiny followed the rose-coloured fabric to see the link between the two of you. Before your very eyes, the string shortened until it was about two metres long. The both of you gaped at each other as cars passed the quiet cafe, their headlights shining into the windows as they went by.
* * *
After getting over the initial shock, you ended up taking Jeongin to your apartment. You couldn't walk away from each other and there was no way you could stay in his college dorm. The two of you sat and decided to get to know each other, or at least the basics of each other's character.
You didn't know how long you'd be mysteriously attached.
You learned that it was his first year of college and he was older than you, though not by too much. He was a business major since it was a large topic that could be used for several different jobs. You were right to assume he was a vocalist, because he was. He loved to sing and even had a dream of becoming an idol. You found this all to be intriguing, you figured you wouldn't mind his company.
"What about you?" He said suddenly, leaning over his arms on the table, "Tell me about yourself."
You let a small smile grace your lips as you hummed, thinking. "Well," You started, "I'm eighteen, and I plan to go to college next year. I work in the cafe because my family owns it, though I do most of the work, to be honest with you."
"That's weird," Jeongin commented, "You just graduated and they're making you do all the work? Plus, you moved out really early."
You raised your shoulders in a shrug, "I have an older brother, but he barely ever shows up for work. To be fair, my parents pay me extra for the overtime my brother causes me."
The conversation continued, you couldn't pay attention to how long it'd been. Talking to Jeongin was strange because although you'd only known him for a few hours, you felt as though you'd known him for years. You were comfortable with him.
You soon moved to the topic of the string around your wrist, slightly begrudgingly. You didn't want things to suddenly turn awkward because of what you thought was a myth.
The two of you were still calming from laughing over a story Jeongin told about his childhood. You sighed and gave him an apologetic look, "So, this string."
The boy hummed, nodding, "Do you have any idea of what it is or what it could mean?"
"Well," You chuckled nervously, "As a child, my family used to ramble about some red string that connected two people. Those two people would be destined to fall in love."
Your guest hummed as he took in the information, his fingers drumming on the table, "So they're... Soulmates?"
"Exactly." You nodded, "But the problem is that in those stories, the string is invisible to the human eye. So I wouldn't rely on it."
Jeongin was quick to speak, "I heard those stories as well. But I heard an added detail; sometimes the string malfunctions, and you can actually see it when that happens. It disappears again during the next full moon."
You massaged your temples at his remark. Those stories were myths. But then what would explain the string tied to the two of you? Were you really soulmates?
"Okay," You said slowly, "Are you okay with staying here for the time being?"
"Yeah, it's easiest. I have classes during the week, though.." He responded, trailing off nervously.
Smiling and standing, you shook your head as Jeongin hopped up as well, "I can take off of work to follow you around if I have to. I'm sure we can prove to your professors that I have to be there if they ask. Come on, it's late and I have an air mattress you can sleep on."
The older nodded and eagerly followed you into your bedroom and closet. Together, you lugged the air mattress out and set it next to your bed. Jeongin plugged it in and turned it on, letting it fill with air, as you pulled some blankets and pillows out for him and threw them on the mattress.
After struggling to do both of your nightly routines, you got yourselves sorted and said your goodnights.
* * *
The first night was rough because neither one of you could sleep. You were in shock still, and Jeongin was in a place he wasn't used to, plus the shock. You were both lucky it was Friday. Morning came and went. You and Jeongin took turns showering, the other having to sit outside the door. It was slightly uncomfortable, you have to admit. It felt like you were hovering over each other's shoulders all the time. You weren't sure you were too fond of it.
As Jeongin was drying, you took out your phone to see when the next full moon would be. It was roughly a week away, exactly nine days. You could handle that... Right?
* * *
Later on, the same day, you were perched on your couch -- with Jeongin, of course -- reading a book. The boy next to you flipped through the TV channels aimlessly, dressed in some of the bigger, more comfy clothes you kept around the apartment. You made sure the articles of clothing you'd given him were your brother's hand-me-downs. It was nothing special, a pair of grey sweatpants and a black t-shirt. You were in similar attire; your own pair of sweats adorned your legs and a large white Puma hoodie covered your torso.
The sound of Jeongin heaving a sigh filled your ears and you turned your head to look at him. "There's nothing good on," He whined, tossing the remote aside after landing on some nature documentary about owls. "What's your book about?" He asked curiously before you could respond, peeping over your shoulder. You chuckled at him and stuck your thumb on the page you were on before halfway closing the book to show him the cover.
"It's a romantic novel," You responded, watching him gawk over the well-designed cover, "It's about the human race hundreds of years in the future. They live in space shuttles and ships because the Earth has undergone another ice age. A girl goes to another ship for a job and ends up falling in love with the captain, who is really strange and mysterious. It's pretty good."
"Woahhh," Was apparently the only thing the older could muster as he gazed at the book, then back at you. "Are you enjoying it?"
You nodded quickly, letting a wide smile grace your face as you couldn't help but geek out a little bit, "Yes! The characters are so well portrayed and the plot just sucks you in-"
Jeongin stopped listening, honestly. Because all he could focus on was the smile on your face and the twinkle in your eyes as you blabbered about the book you'd been reading.
How cute.
* * *
Later that day, the two of you decided to go to Jeongin's dorm to move some of his clothes. He would be involuntarily staying with you for a week, after all. So you grabbed one of your duffel bags and hopped in the car to drive him to the college he was attending.
Upon exiting the car (both of you had to climb out of the passenger side), you realized it would probably be awkward to go into the boys' dorm with him. You were a woman, after all, and the two of you were bound by a red string. Could others even see the string as you could? You weren't sure.
That being said, you let the crisp autumn air envelope your skin as you stepped out of the car, the wind blowing your hair into your face. Fixing the beanie on your head, you gave Jeongin a small smile as you began to follow him towards the building. The boy gave a small chuckle, "Don't worry, (Y/N). We won't be here long."
A light pink dusted your cheeks. "You could tell?" You let out a sheepish chuckle, "Am I that obvious? This is going to be so awkward."
"Nah," The older responded as he held the door to the main lobby open for you, "It's okay. I have a room to myself, anyway."
You slipped into the dorm building with a small thanks, relishing in the warmth it offered. "Really?" You looked at him from the corner of your eye, "Lucky."
Jeongin stepped back ahead of you, grabbing the string that connected the two of you to drag you along at a faster pace, "I dunno. It's nice for studying but it can get boring otherwise."
Humming, you let him drag you up the stairs and down the halls to his room, the duffel bag in your other hand. As he unlocked the door, you immediately slipped in before he could and threw the large bag down to look around your companion's living space. It was modest and shockingly clean for a freshman in college such as himself. You could imagine that Chan's room was probably the opposite.
"Come onnn," The inhabitant of the room whined, picking up the bag with one hand and grabbing yours with the other to take you to his bedroom.
* * *
It didn't take too long to get Jeongin's things. The two of you were back at your apartment in a matter of thirty minutes. After helping the older put his things in an orderly fashion in your apartment, all you wanted to do was rest. Your new (temporary) roommate, however, insisted that you help him study. So, here you sat. You were across from him at your kitchen table, reading from neatly made flashcards he had taken the time to create. You couldn't have cared less about what you were saying, but a smile remained on your face. When the child-like teen got literally anything correct, he would give a toothed smile. His eyes would sparkle before turning into little crescents and he would let out a small, proud giggle.
How cute.
* * *
You were dreading having to go to Jeongin's classes with him. Through an encounter with the lady at your apartment building's lobby, you learned that others around you couldn't see the fiery string that bound both of you to each other. Maybe you could sneak into the lectures, the older boy had said that they hold about one hundred people per lecture. With that, you could infer that it was a large university (you'd seen the campus, after all, and it was huge) and also probably a good university. You might be fake attending college with prodigies!
When expressing this to Jeongin on the way there, you were laughed at. But his laugh was not teasing or making fun, it was soft and amused.
"There are plenty of mediocre students," He said, "Seoul is just so large that a lot of the colleges around the area have thousands of students. Seoul University is the most popular, but that doesn't mean it's the most successful."
Glancing at the rearview mirror as you drove, you let out a puff of air as you mumbled under your breath, "For a freshman in college, you sure sound wise."
Yet another laugh filled your ears. You couldn't help but smile.
* * *
The day went by quicker than you anticipated. People had asked you several times if you were Jeongin's girlfriend, to which you let a soft pink dance across your cheeks as you told them that you weren't. Soon enough, you were eating lunch. Then you just went home, since Jeongin had only three classes that day. Tomorrow he'd have five, then the next day only one. And all of them were mostly different classes!
College confused you. You were starting to reconsider even going.
When you got back to the apartment, the two of you lazed around and spent time together doing nothing. At night, you helped the boy study. This became a routine.
Wake up, shower, eat, go to university with Jeongin, come home, do nothing, eat, study, and go to bed. You didn't realize just how much you would end up missing it.
It was the night of the full moon that you realized it.
* * *
As you were putting the colour coded vocabulary cards in Jeongin's bag, you heard the college student's voice pipe up from behind you, "It's night. I can see the moon, but we're still bound."
"I think we need to wait ‘til morning," You replied, zipping up the bag as you turned to face him, "Maybe the moon needs time to do its job."
He nodded with a small hum. His scrutiny was fixated on the moon that could be seen from your kitchen window. The moonlight gently caressed his smooth skin in the most perfect of ways. His high cheekbones seemed even more prominent, but not too sharply prominent. It was a soft contour that made you want to take a picture of the beautiful human in front of you.
You thought about that picture as the two of you headed to bed. And you were shocked when you awoke at ten in the morning, the boy you'd grown feelings for no longer present. As you sat up and looked around, you realized he'd folded the blankets neatly on top of his bed. All of his things were gone. As you wandered the apartment in a depressed daze, you noticed that he'd also left you a note on the kitchen table.
Thank you for dealing with me and helping me so much, (Y/N). I wanted to let you sleep in, so I left for class as usual. I hope I can see you again soon, and I really hope that the string wasn't an entire malfunction.
- Jeongin
Sighing, you set the handwritten note down and rubbed your temples. What did he mean by that? Was he coming back?
* * *
It was that evening you saw him again. You were huddled up on your couch, watching The Princess and the Frog, because what else was there to do at a time like this? Nothing.
Hearing a knock at your door, you let a groan slip from between your lips as you stood -- leaving the blanket around your shoulders -- and padded over to the door. Upon opening it, your mouth formed a perfect o as you gazed upon Jeongin himself. He had a nervous smile on his face as he held a bouquet of white roses as well as a box of chocolates.
"I was thinking," He said, "And I know that the string tied us together for a reason. I- I think you're my soulmate, (Y/N)."
You gave a bright smile as you nodded happily, gently taking the gifts he'd held out to you, "I think you're my soulmate too, Jeongin... In fact, I know you are."
His smile grew brighter, "So.. wanna hit the cafe for a late night date?"
"Sounds perfect."

Kouri watches He is Psychometric, episode 11
Nobody who writes for television has any idea how long chloroform takes to work
Um buddy I get the idea but YJI is not KSM’s ‘woman’ I think you need to research better
The traffic stop!!! The photo coming in JUST AFTER THEY LET HIM DRIVE AWAY I’M
‘We’re all dead to Detective Eun if we don’t catch him’ pffft
KSM lookin rough
This priest like ‘let people help you, dumbass’ and he is so correct
KSM needs so many hugs. Also therapy. Like, a lot of therapy.
LA and YJI are SO CUTE
Y’all really aren’t going to put together the fact that creepy guy is KSM’s dad? Okay
“We have to stop him!” I just want on record that I think KSM shooting that guy in the face would be very therapeutic for him. Sometimes murder is the answer, okay, kids?
Sorry are you actually going the ‘KSM has feelings for YJI’ route? Because no. Absolutely not. I’m definitely not acknowledging that as canon.
This guy has been chasing her since 1996? Good fucking lord, dude. Get a hobby.
Well they’ve figured stuff out now! Still waiting to see why the guy burned down the nursing home but hey, we’re making progress.

Quick rundown on some ships since I’ve gotten some asks about them:
McHan//zo: I wrote a post. A bunch of posts.
McGen//ji: I wrote a post.
Gen//cy: I wrote a post.
R//76: I love them. It’s basically canon, and I’m not even exaggerating. This is the one ship I’m actually properly invested in.
Moi//cy: It isn’t for me. I personally think that relationship could only be toxic. Not a fan of the content that frames it more emotionally abusive.
Pharme//rcy: Very much not for me. I am uncomfortable with the ship, personally, but it’s valid and alright. I just don’t want to see it, but if I do see it, it’s whatever. I’ve seen some nasty, nasty things coming out of the fans of the ships in the ship wars, especially in the early days of the game’s release, so I’m not impressed with some of the fans.
Geny//atta: I am deeply uncomfortable with this ship. I (probably) won’t block you or avoid reblogging you, but I blacklist for this because I do not want to see this at all.
McSom//bra: I’d very much rather not see this in the canon, but it’s alright. Could be interesting.
McMe//rcy: Adorable. I don’t ship it, but I wonder why it isn’t more popular.
An//a76, Ga//bAna, Old Soldiers: Cute.
Rea//pFist: Cute. Sort of bummed it died out so fast.
AnaHa//rdt: Cute. Not really into it though, but very cute.
WidowTra//cer: Never really understood it. Seems like your basic “take the hero and villain and make them kiss”. Don’t really have thoughts on it.
McRe//yes, Mc//76, McRe//yes76, McA//na, McD//Va, GenRe//aper, McRe//yji, Shi//madacest, McShi//madacest, variations on these: Cursed and a plague upon this house. I block you on sight. With prejudice. I pray that you try to reblog my content and find that you cannot.
