Poor thing is already exhausted because there's been firecrackers since the morning and full firework batteries since 6pm. And it's not even midnight yet, we still have one hour to go
Then it'll take at least until 2am until the idiots stop outside, and then another hour until I have any hope of finding this poor creature, and then more time until they're calmed enough for me to even consider sleep
I fucking HATE New Year's
And as I type this, more fireworks, and the cat is gone. Fuck this shit

actually i'm tired of posts suggesting i can't live my life because of palestine. i can and will and still care about palestine. meanwhlie y'all are beng performative and ignoring the genocide that's also going on in congo. and since that's all everyone can focus on according to you guys, it's an election year and americans are distracted and aren't paying attention to all the bills that gop are drafting up to pass, but that doesn't matter right?
I am going to presume you are following me, and have been. If you are not than the point still stands that I am deeply disappointed in you.
I made the deliberate choice to speak today about Palestine because I am tired of hearing anyone with such privilege like mine and yours say they are “too tired” or “just want to live” as a deflection from having to own up and stand for what it right. I am tired of seeing national holidays used to cover up what is happening, what my country and presumably yours is doing. I never suggested you can’t live your life, I suggested you use that life to give a damn.
You are so incredibly lucky to get to live your life. 30,000+ people no longer have that privilege. They were murdered. Their loved ones are suffering every moment of every day, trying desperately to survive. It’s true that Congo is also suffering a horrific genocide that must be ended. The point here is not to elevate one, it is to say we refuse to stop fighting until all genocides are ended. Until aid is provided to those who have been harmed. It is a gross violation to try to invoke the suffering of the Congolese people to silence the call to free Palestinian people. If you cared, it would be Yes And.
I think you feel guilty for not doing more, and try to defuse that guilt by saying you shouldn’t have to. But we all have to. This blog has always been about making the world a better place, and caring for the wellbeing of all people. I will never stop speaking out about protecting those who need it. I don’t care, frankly, if it is hard for you. Activism is hard. Caring is hard.
If you want to live your life, go ahead. Spend your energy where you choose to. Do not dare to try to tell me when and how I should care.
