A wince of pain emerged from the detective, Shido’s eyes shooting up to see what the cause was. It seemed he must’ve gotten a paper cut (most likely from all the paperwork in his hands), and it didn’t take long before Akechi looked at it more closely. A surprise to the prime minister, noticing that blood began spilling from the open wound (perhaps Akechi had taken off his gloves ahead of time..).

Looks like he’s begun staring holes into that very same wound.

( POST GAME ) There is a little envelope in the mail bag for Shido today. Inside the envelope is what looks like a woven black and red cloth bracelet, with the other's name skillfully embroidered upon it in gold thread. The return address is from on Akira Kurusu.

A surprise letter! He hadn’t expect anything but death threats, but something from Kurusu himself? His secretary seemed rather surprised as well, simply looking at the return address for a short while. He swallowed, slowly ripping open the envelope as his hand dug through the envelope, thread brushing up against his fingers. Shido pulled whatever was in it, eyes widening upon getting a closer look. 

Ah..was this?

Slowly did he slip the bracelet onto his wrist, strange feeling filling his stomach as his eyes looked toward his desk.

‘...He didn’t need to do this.’

She had noticed his tweets about spices and filed it away for later use. This was an awful idea, she knew it. But she had to. So, there was Makoto serving her infamous soup. However, his bowl had a particular ingredient added to it. An unnecessary spice. "Please enjoy your meal, Shido-san."

He’d been invited over to dinner by Sae, a surprise that she was able to make room in her schedule to accomplish. There was plenty more work to do on Shido’s end, but he agreed to it regardless, even if he’d be getting stared at by the younger the entire time. The apartment seemed tidy enough (perhaps because only two people were living in it), but Shido remained silent, occasionally speaking to Sae (unfortunately most of their conversations ended in silence) until Makoto called them over for dinner.

It seems soup was on the menu for tonight, but there was a familiar waft coming from it that reminded Shido of something, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on what it was. After thanking Makoto for the meal, he dug in, but immediately after taking one bite did his stomach “catch on fire”. Eyes went wide, hand moving to clutch his stomach and mouth as an intense pain filled his body, eyes looking downward at his legs before immediately looking back at Makoto.

‘Y..You put something in my food, didn’t you?!’

He stands up, towering over the younger sibling. There was no need to hold back, even if he was in the presence of his friend. Shido was more than ready to take out his anger on this child. Who does she think she is?! Hand grasped a fistful of Makoto’s hair, pulling on it tightly.

‘You brat! Don’t you have any idea what it means to cross me?! I’ll make your life a living hell if you attempt such a move again, are we clear?’

‘Stop screaming..’

They may have been in the privacy of Futaba’s home, but Shido couldn’t stand hearing her voice echoing through the room. A part of him considered this was a bad idea, but at the same time, it felt EARNED. Blood fell from his lips, fangs a familiar color of crimson. She finally knew of Masa/yoshi Shi/do’s true nature, one that was kept from the public for YEARS. Glowing irises watched as she struggled on the ground, not even attempting to help her cease the bleeding from the now bruising mark.

‘Otherwise I’ll make sure your ‘caretaker’ is dead by tomorrow.’

Blood was the only thought on his mind, having forgotten to drink in the last few hours. Unfortunate..but perhaps the detective’s presence was a saving grace for the future prime minister. Hand extended outward, grasping tightly onto Akechi’s clothed arm. It didn’t take long for Shido to sloppily pull off the younger’s glove, breathing increasing as he barred his teeth, fangs soon sank into him.

❛ shido-san ... ❜ it is visible in his eyes — he's hungry. lips part to relieve a hopeless sigh. moving copious locks of hair, she outstretched her head, grey streaks cascade at her side to reveal ghost pale neck. ❛ please make it quick. ❜

With the busy schedule, coupled with a lack of a proper breakfast, Shido’s body raged on with hunger. Being around such a large crowd didn’t help it one bit, it only made the man crave to fill this void in his stomach even more. A part of him wanted to sink his teeth into a nearby supporter, hell, even the bodyguard as they were driving back to his office, but he’d be found out immediately if he attempted such a thing. To add onto it, Sae was now in his office, a private area where he could easily draw blood from her, but he refrained, simply focusing on the clock as a finger impatiently tapped on the wooden desk.. But occasionally did his eyes look directly at the younger woman’s neck, practically hearing the blood rushing through his body, yet he’d immediately look away upon noticing her eyes looking at him.

Eyes shoot over toward her, practically staring a hole into Sae as she showed his neck to him. Instincts went into overdrive, body removing itself from his desk as his feet guided him directly toward the lawyer, hands grasping onto clothed shoulders tightly. Firm grip remained, body leaning down as fangs sunk into pale flesh. A taste of iron spread across his taste buds, that grasp only tightening as blood began filling his system. No hesitation was in his actions, body eagerly swallowing every drop that he was able to taste. Eyes shut behind orange tinted glasses, grasp still ever present.

It was when her legs shook that he removed himself from her neck, blood already spilling from the open wound on her skin. Hands let her go, completely pulling back from the younger prosecutor. Red liquid slowly fell down his chin, but Shido quickly wiped it away and licked it off his hand. Shido shouldn’t go overboard, he didn’t want to accidentally kill Sae whilst in the middle one of his ‘episodes.’

‘Are you still able to make it to work? I don’t want you to miss it.’

Sae was even paler than before, a sign of dizziness in her movements as she went to sit down on the couch. The bite mark was noticeable to his eyes, and Shido had handed her a handkerchief, exhale escaping past the older’s lips.

‘I missed breakfast, so I might’ve taken far more than I normally do..’
