A thousand years from now, the Earth as we know it has been destroyed by the Seven Days of Fire, and the planet is covered by a Sea of Decay. Nausicaä, Princess of the Valley of the Wind, lives in harmony with the natural environment and the dangerous insects that live there. Fearful nations seek to harness the power of the ancient Giant Warriors to conquer the Valley of the Wind and destroy the Sea of Decay.
As of this writing, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984) is my favorite Hayao Miyazaki film. The world feels dynamic and real in the same way as Frank Herbert’s Dune. The animation is gorgeous as well as the score and audio design. The best part of the film, however, is the character of Nausicaä herself. She’s someone who believes that life and nature are precious, and she recognizes that violence is preceded by fear. She doesn’t compromise her ideals, but struggles and sacrifices to save her fragile kingdom by the sea.
This film is so beautiful and the action sequences are so exciting. The script is perfectly paced. It’s the kind of film you just want to live in. I really want a pet fox-squirrel and ceramic sword that makes that sound when I use it.

Asami Koseki's Love All Play novel was published by Poplar Publishing for four volumes from 2011 to 2014. The author says, "About ten years ago, I met the profound and fascinating sports, badminton, and was able to write this novel by being fascinated by people who are sincerely involved in it. And the story is now given a new face as an anime. As an anime fan, I am extremely happy about this fortune, and I believe it will be a great motivation for my future works. I hope that the power of anime, which is a representative of Japanese culture, will increase the number of badminton fans in Japan and around the world."

Princess Mononoke (1997)
Mononoke-hime Inflicted with a deadly curse, the young warrior Ashitaka heads west in search of a cure. There, he stumbles into a bitter conflict between Lady Eboshi, the proud people of Iron Town, and the enigmatic Princess Mononoke, a young girl raised by wolves, who will stop at nothing to prevent the humans from destroying her home and the forest spirits and animal gods who live there.
TL;DR: Do I recommend it? > Yes.
The long of it:
Studio: Studio Ghibli Director: Miyazaki Hayao Writer: Miyazaki Hayao Cast: Matsuda Yōji, Ishida Yuriko, Tanaka Yūko, Kobayashi Kaoru Runtime: 134 minutes IMDB | RottenTomatoes | Official Site
Watched: on November 3rd
Reaction: ± Technically a rewatch but i feel like the first time i watched this i wasn’t primed for the experience and was maybe kinda sleepy cause i think i just fell asleep and all that i remember from then was that it was long. :)))
But for a real reaction it’s a lovely fantasy movie with --as expected from Ghibli-- fantastical story and amazing visuals rooted in real world problems, in this case of human progress and industrial development versus the conservation of nature and protection of animals and species. There’s lovely nuance to how the humans relate to each other based on their stand in the situation, from helpful to malicious to grudgingly compliant, showing the breadth of human interaction. There’s also a jarring visual disparity between the world of the industrious humans and the animals of the forest and yet both are breathtakingly illustrated and presented with their own kind of fascinating overall picture.
Memorable aspect of the movie: + The characters. The forest spirit. The wolves (such cute giant killing machines XD). + The writing. The sheer mess of human nature and the lengths we go to when there are competing interests. + The art style. Miyazaki Hayao really has a visually stunning unique way of showing the world.

Yohji Yamamoto
1943–
Yōji Yamamoto is an influential and award-winning fashion designer from Japan. He is recognized as a master in ultramodern tailoring alongside those like Madelein Vionnet.
"I think that my men's clothes look as good on women as my women's clothing...When I started designing, I wanted to make men's clothes for women. It meant something to me – the idea of a coat guarding and hiding a woman’s body. I wanted to protect the woman’s body from something – maybe from men’s eyes or a cold wind.”
