I have only read one story from this author and liked it (In The Cavern from 13-nin no Short Suspense and Horror - and it is my favorite story in there). The style is very much like a shoujo type of eroguro, which I particularly like.

This one is kind of an AU where Kisame is a samebito. Those yôkai are known to cry ruby tears (and also weaving really good silk that never gets wet).

Shinobis don't cry, of course. But exceptions happen. Of course it can't really end well with tears like those and Fuguki should have let his student keep his secrets. Because greed never gets you anywhere but six feet under. Or was it underwater? I forgot.

With his debt still unpaid, I am forced to turn to my next option. You are mine, Jounouchi Katsuya. Here and now I claim you. You will be my bride.” Jounouchi Katsuya learns the hard way that his father left him as collateral to a demon's debt, and now trapped in another realm, he's forced to either marry his captor, or work it off. Guess which option he picks. Now he's a fry cook for a demon lord, with a whole mess of trouble waiting to catch up to him.

yup, i'm posting it. i was going to hold off until i had a little more written, but i decided i don't care and i want it out in the world. the prologue is very sad, but there are happy times ahead. unfortunately, we gotta establish some bad stuff.

I did a little story about a Naruto kitsune who hasn't seen a human for several centuries since he stayed in the yôkai world, in fact most of the Yôkai who are in the yôkai world no longer have exceeded their world to go into that of humans.

Then one day a human child appears in the Uzumaki domain, which is not normal because humans are not supposed to cross the youkai world alone.

So Naruto finds himself caring for a lost little human, most of Naruto's friends helping him the best they can but are equally lost on how to handle a human child. Luckily Sakura is here to spill her knowledge on humans.

(ohhhh mannnnnn listen. white willingly leaving the empire as he's about to get a Really Good guide spot in the navy, but instead joins the pirates that - idk, black joined them at some point, during a raid he gets captured back by the empire and surprise he is the long lost twin, and so todd (who obviously is oikawa in this) devises a plan to send white in his stead to get intel on how to stop the pirates... and gram can be the nice mentor who does the initial training like suga, they are also both silver haired so it pleases me. and gumpa can be the calm but strict captain like daichi. Sean is of course the horrible yôkai who will immediately feel that something is different with "black"'s guiding technique. yok could be another guide who finds a newborn yokai dan on a raid and is desperate to tame him, but if we want to keep dan's betrayal intact then he should be a navy "deserter" who switches back sides... which doesn't mean he has to be human tbh but I'm not really writing yokais to be loyal to institutions in this au so idk. maybe the other way around? yok as a yokai who thinks he can ease a human he likes into guiding for him? but it'd be sad to have to remove his mom from the equation.

idk what to do with black in the end nor with the twin psychic link. to be fair black going berserk and the psychic link makes it tempting to actually make him a yôkai, but then it means everything else gets really messy. I guess you could throw the twins part out, make black a yôkai that white bonded with as a child, and they tried to separate them to dissolve the bond but white can still feel him sometimes? but then we lose the whole core of how and why white meets the gang. if you want me to start wondering if white could be a yokai you're gonna have to put another coin in the jukebox)

(also sorry idk what to do with either gene nor namo. they would probably be the some other type of characters and idk if their storylines really would need adjustments or if they can just live on the island and teach white about how it's worth saving. maybe it's enough.)

It’s hard to tell in the ever-present darkness, but it’s a tall man with long hair, piercing yellow eyes, and a pair of ears sticking out of his head. A long fluffy tail sways from side to side when the spirit locks the door behind himself, successfully trapping them both inside. Just fucking perfect. “It’s also rude to set kids on fire.” he points out, even if he’s on the fox’s side with this one. The brat deserved it.

Spiderwebs (kumo no su)

In ancient China, spider were seen as auspicious messengers connecting Heaven to Earth.

As the spider catches its prey in its web, spiderweb came to signify "grasping happiness".

Apparently during Edo period, prostitutes and geisha used spiderweb patterned items as a good luck charm (meaning something like "this customer will come back").

A very famous spiderweb depiction is the Lady Rokujo ukiyoe [焔 honô (the flame of passion)] by female artist Uemura Shoen. Wisteria caught in the web could mean ``I hope [Prince Genji] will come tonight'' which is pretty sad considering her story T_T

Skulls (dokuro)

Exact name for human remains pattern is "nozarashi" (lit. "weather beaten") ie bones scattered in a field. This depicts a corpse turned to bones/unveiled from its grave by the elements.

Skulls are thought to ward off evil and bad luck. Bones can also symbolize a do-or-die spirit​, or hope for rebirth after death.

OP stresses a theory linking bones pattern to a buddhist saying 色��是空 shikisokuzekū "form is emptiness, matter is void, all is vanity​". An interpetation is that we'll all turn to dust one day so we're all equal.

Bones patterns are often seen during Obon (Festival of the dead) season.

Monsters, ogres and ghosts (yôkai / oni / yûrei)

Monsters patterns were then worn to ward off bad luck and evil spirits. Reasoning is: let's repel scary things by wearing an even scarier monster!

Fearsome monsters were especially use by people with dangerous jobs, like Edo period firemen.

Firemen often had the lining of their heavy fire attire (火事装束 kajishouzoku) embelished with lavish designs of brave heroes and fantastic monsters. It was both a talisman and a way to show that they did not fear danger or death.

Another reason behing monsters patterns is the Edo period love for "scary" entertainements, be it ghost stories, parlor or other types of games, art (see for ex. Utagawa Kuniyoshi), etc. And Edo city dwellers were all about being fashionable so a monster pattern would have been considered quite iki!

There are a lot of really interesting main characters, I love all of them but I think my favorite for now are Inuyasha and Shippo
